In this episode, we explore the Throat Chakra, the energy center of communication, truth, and self-expression. Located at the throat, this chakra invites us to speak with honesty, listen with intention, and share our authentic voice with the world. We dive into how blocked energy can show up as fear of speaking, people-pleasing, or holding emotions in, and how healing this chakra can bring confidence, clarity, and deeper connection. Tune in for insight, reflection, and gentle practices to help you express your truth and honor the power of your voice.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome back, fellow yogis. We are so excited to have you here today as we talk about the throat chakra. I am your host, Kimmy, and next we have my co-host, Brittany. Woo woo! Welcome. Oh my gosh. This last week has been off the walls. So eventful.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Off the walls. We even have a busy May month ahead of us. Oh, the month of May is actually, yeah. It's very busy. Yes, but we've had also a very busy April, so it's been great. Tell me about your week. What have you been up to? Um work. Um, teaching classes. Um I was just like busy with work this week, so that's okay. That's it.

SPEAKER_02

Right on. Well, while you were teaching Monday night, I uh went over to Priestly Mental Health. That's right. And did a little introduction uh sound bath. They were doing like a spiritual wellness night and they invited me over, and so I brought just a couple of bowls and some chimes and some things and showed them how the instruments worked and what they were, and then we just did like a little baby sound bath, and we also did a giveaway. Someone got a free sound bath um from it too. But yeah, it was just a group of new people, and it was it was great, it was fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, any magic moments? Um, yes, actually. Okay. Um so we have a student that has been coming to the studio for about six months or a year or so. Um, but she came up to me after class on Thursday, and um, she's like, you know, I've been practicing yoga for 23 years. I've been to a lot of uh different yoga studios, and she's like, I just have to tell you that this is by far my favorite. And I was like, Are you kidding me? And like the second she told me, I was like, oh, like my heart so full. Um, so yeah, I just it's so reaffirming when I don't know, when people give the compliments like that. I'm like, oh, thank you. Like I, you know, I'm trying, like that's what I want for this place. So it's just yeah, that was super cool. So that was my magic moment. Well second she told me, I was like, I'm writing this out.

SPEAKER_00

And I can't forget. Yeah, like one of the things when we talked about like opening up this the studio was to create a space of that, like exactly to create that calm, inviting, safe, welcoming environment. Yes. And we actually had a student on the way out the door today tell us that he he that we make him feel special and so just we love our students.

SPEAKER_02

So if you're a student and you're listening, I hope you know how appreciative we are of you guys. We are so grateful, like we wouldn't be here without you guys. And so thank you so much.

SPEAKER_00

That's great. Yeah, what about you? What's your magic moment of the week? Okay, my magic moment is I got to sub your Tuesday night hot yoga class. Yes, you did. I was so excited. I threw everybody off. They walked and they were like, Well, what are you doing here? How can I help you? I was like, I'm your sub today. I am your sub. Thank you so much for doing that, by the way.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. Um, yeah, it's been a while since you've taught a Tuesday night class. A Tuesday night class, yeah. And it's fun because I'm gonna teach your Saturday morning hot yellow class here in a couple weeks. And I haven't taught that class in a long time either.

SPEAKER_00

So it's like I know, I love that we kind of like got to switch it up because there's some students that you have that don't take my Saturday morning class be for whatever reason, and then so I don't know, I just and like same thing, like yeah, so it'll be really good, and I think the students are looking forward to it.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, well, I'm looking forward to it too. It'll be great.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, actually, I'm going to a wedding that day. Ooh, I know I'm excited. I haven't been to a wedding in a long time. Uh and I get to actually be like a person that is sitting and watching it, not the one that's like a bridesmaid or anything, not a bridesmaid, not in charge of the food, like not in charge of anything, not in charge of anything. I get to be the observer, and I'm really excited. That's nice. Aw, very fun. Yeah. Um, dude, I got I got some shout-outs. Or do you have any other magic moments? Um, no, not really. What are your shout-outs? Okay, I got a shout-out to anybody in the customer field service. Customer service guild. Oh, yeah. Customer service. If you are customer service, dude shout-out, because that is probably one of the hardest jobs out there. Oh, yeah. Dealing with people every day, deal with their comments.

SPEAKER_02

People can be mean.

SPEAKER_00

I know, right? Easily offended. So okay. Do you I have an FMK? Okay, let's hear it. Yeah. Okay. Throw it at me. What you got? I think this one will be. I think I already know your response, actually. Okay. Okay, so red lights, low dim lighting for like, you know, relaxation. Okay. Kind of like what we do here in the studio. Or that pink ambience. Ambiance. Ambiance. That was trending there for a second.

SPEAKER_02

Like the, yeah, the that pink glowy. Like the neon or whatever, yeah. So kill that one.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Um, I'm going to marry the red lights and F the low lighting. I'm a red lights girl through and through. I do love the red light therapy, but you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

What's your answer? What's your response?

SPEAKER_00

I I'll probably kill the ambiance too. Um, and then I'm gonna flip the other ones. So, like, okay, I'm gonna I'm gonna F the red lights and marry the low dim. The low dim. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like it depends on the class too. Like a class has to be red lights.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah. And on Tuesday, I only did for your class. I only did the red lights and the infrared heating, and I was just like, no other lighting, and I was like, wait, this is a vibe. It's yeah, it is a vibe. It makes you calm down right when you get in. It's nice. I typically do that with my um Monday night class, and I've been I mean, we've kind of talked about getting like one of those projectors, the the um the lights that do the galaxies on the wall and stuff, because I thought that would be super relaxing. Yeah, that could be. Like you're taking a restorative class and you're just stargazing. Cute. Aww. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's fun. What's your love, your love and your hate for the week? Oh, so I don't have a hate because my week has seriously been so good. Um, my love of the week is inspiring friends. Um, you're included in this. I feel like you inspire me a lot, but I'm specifically thinking about Kat and Kayla because this last Friday um we went skydiving. And so my friend Kayla is like certified, so she just solo jumped. But me and Kat were we went tandem, and um Kat's been crossing off things off of her bucket list, and so this was one of the bucket list items, and and we did it, and it was so fun. Um, I got paired up with this guy Justin, and he was just rad. He's his skydiving glasses are like these gold, spiky. Like he was just cool, and he was so fun with me because um I told him I was like, let's just do some crazy stuff, and he was just like, I'll let you do whatever you want. And so he just barrel rolled me out of the plane and he let me pull the parachute and he let me drive, you know, like he let me like do some whoop-de-woos on the way down, and it was it was so fun. But with that being said, um, I'm very grateful to have Kat and Kayla in my life because they inspire me, especially. I'm like, Kayla is she has put me out of my comfort zone in so many things because she is always trying cool things. And me and Kat were talking about this this week too. We're like, you're always just doing your thing, and it's really inspiring. And same thing with Kat, she's just a freaking go-getter. I'm like, and I know she was terrified of doing this, and she did it anyway. And I just think that is so cool. So my friends are just they're so inspiring, and I'm that's my love of the week. I love my community, I love my friends, and thanks for inspiring me. That's awesome.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, what's your love, hate? Okay, so I'll start off with my hate so we can end on a positive. Okay. How about that? Let's do that. Okay, so I hate when I'm working at Crest Club, and I go most of the day just getting electronic payments. And so I'm thinking, yes, I get to close my day out not having to count my till. And then two hours before, you know, I'm gonna close, somebody comes in, gets a$10 order, and pays with cash. And I'm like, And then I have to count my till. That's annoying. I hate counting money because I count it so much. Yeah, you're like, I'm sick of counting money. That's funny. I've gotten lucky a couple of times though, where I didn't have to count, so that's nice. That is nice. Um, and my love is I love when I find hidden talents in my husband. Oh yeah, so elaborate. Yes, so we went to the drive range down our road, and uh my drive is not well, it needs improvement, so that's fine. You were practicing your swing, was practicing my swing, and my husband like held out for 20 minutes before I was like, Are you what are you doing? Come on, like come hit one, come hit one. Yeah, and um he blew my freaking mind. He started knocking them out of the park. He was um, if the measurements are correct out there, he was he was hitting it at least 200 yards. Which, like, for someone who doesn't golf, yes, that'd be really good. Let me elaborate even more on this. My husband does not golf. Has never golfed. Never golfed. The one time, the one time that he did golf, he was drunk. Like, yeah, he was he wasn't hitting the ball. Yeah, and it was just like it was just like a tourney that they did out on the golf course, and he just like they I think it was a scrap, they did a scramble. And um, so that was the last time, and my husband, he was, I was like, Did you hit any when you went to the tourney? He was like, No, I was just too drunk, like I was too drunk to hit. And um, I was like, Well, okay, explain why you're freakishly good right now. And he was like, I've been watching YouTube, and I was just like, oh my gosh, it's pain off. I was like, I was like, you're not getting out of the park every time you hit that ball. Like, I I was mind blown. I'm sure it happens all the time out on the golf course, but I was just I was like, babe, this is great. I was just like every time he hit it, I was like, oh my gosh, that's so great. It was listen, I'm his number one cheerleader. Yeah, you were cheering for him out there. That's awesome. Yeah, I was well, that's cool. He's just a natural. Yeah, and like we don't get to spend a whole lot of time together. Um, we're just like in that weird phase in like our life with our kids and stuff. We're like alone time, like we really have to dig it's sparse and we have to figure it out. Um, but now like you know, the kids are getting a little bit older. Um I'm like I looked at him and I was like, are we gonna have something that we can do together? I was like, because I have really started enjoying it, and like and like you've been doing uh we have students, yeah. We have a bunch of golfer students, it's been fun. And so it's just been I'm just like I'm looking forward to that time with him, that alone time.

SPEAKER_02

So aw, that's exciting. It was yeah, I was just fun. And what a cool I what a cool little flex, Matt. I hope you're listening. I know. Good job. That was great. All right. Any uh other things you want to mention before we go into our I don't think so. Pull of the day.

SPEAKER_00

Alright, pull of the day. So I pulled the fox card. All right, what is it? And it is associated with cleverness and deception. And the mantra. I am clever enough to detect deception. And I'm reading out of Jenny Blonde, the comfy cozy witch oracle deck. So you can Google that in reference if you need to. The message, one of the most beautiful of wild animals. The fox is of one of intelligence, wit, and deception. The fox card appears to remind you of your own intelligence and cleverness, and to let the intelligence innate knowing guide you. This card may also be urging you to be wary. Trust your gut if you feel something is off with a new situation or acquaintance. As this card shows that there may be deception in an area of your life, remember you are clever enough to detect those around you who are not here for your highest good and who wish to do you harm. When you trust your wit, you will not fall prey to them. And the prompt with this is there any area of my life, a situation or person that I don't trust? And how do how and how does my body and mind alert me to danger? That is a good one. That is a good one. Listen to that gut, that gut feeling. So if you feel a flutter or that something just doesn't feel right, you're probably right. Yep. Agreed.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, let's get into our theme of today, which is the throat chakra, also known as Vishuda, um, is the Sanskrit pronunciation. Um, before we get into the characteristics, how we're balanced, how we're deficient, and all that fun stuff, I do want to read a little excerpt from the chakra yoga book by Anita Judith. Um, and if you remember from the prior episodes, when we talk about our chakras, we the energy travels. We have the left side, which is Ida, we have the right side, which is Pingala, and through the left and the right, we have the middle energy channel, Shishuna, which is where our energy is supposed to travel up to to reach enlightenment, also known as like kundalini, or like the serpent, if you use that visualization. Um, but Anita Judith in this book she says, Imagine that your central axis, the shishuna, is a chord strung between heaven and earth like a guitar string, anchored at each end. You would want to tune the string to be just right so that its note is sweet and accurate. Too tight and the string can break, too loose and the sound is lost. When you pluck a string, it vibrates. The air molecules around it, which eventually dance upon your eardrum and make a sound. The vibration lasts until the impact upon the string is neutralized, then it returns to quiet and stillness again. If you hit the string harder, the sound will last longer before it's neutralized. If you hit it softly, it will barely make a sound at all. In the same way, life will pluck the chord of your Shishuna with people and events that move your soul. Positive or negative, these impacts cause a vibration at the core level of your being. If you are able to allow that vibration to echo through your body and express itself back out again, you discharge the impact and everything returns to normal. A simple example of this is uttering a spontaneous owl when someone bumps into your arm or needing to talk to someone at the end of the day about something that happened to you at work, like getting things off your chest. So when you get these things off of your chest, you tend to feel lighter and freer. As vibrating beings who are instruments, this is quite normal. But what happens when you can't vibrate the impact of something back out again? What happens when you can't say ow, or when you can't talk about something, or when you have to pretend that you weren't really impacted when in fact you were? What happens when you can't tell your truth or when nobody listens to you or when you are ridiculed for what comes out of your mouth? You have to shut down your throat chakra to keep the body from expressing its innate truth. In guitar playing, this is called deadening a string. The player lightly holds the string so it doesn't vibrate, even as his other hand may strike it. When we do this to ourselves, by preventing the expression of something that has been in that has impacted us, we deaden our tissue. We block the natural vibrations that result from life in general and from potent experiences in particular. The prana doesn't flow as easily and the tissues become dense, and we may even put on weight, stiffen our muscles, or lose flexibility. Because the vibration of the soul most naturally expresses itself as sound, we especially block around the throat chakra when this happens. We hold the muscles of the jaw tightly, we tense the shoulders, and the neck no longer holds the head and body in proper alignment with each other. Our self-expression is no longer um flowing easily. It's halted and uncertain instead. We no longer trust ourselves to be spontaneous, and creativity is halted. So all of this is kind of just a long explanation that our body is made up of vibrations, and we get to decide how we vibrate with the harmony around us, with what's surrounding us. Um, so with this chakra, um someone who is balanced in this chakra is going to be someone who often speaks in truth. Um, they're going to have clear communication skills, they'll have authentic expression, they'll be confident, they'll be self-empowered, and they'll have a healthy functioning thyroid. Um, these people are typically people that you're gonna see like as a teacher or as like a public speaker. Like they are very comfortable speaking to people in public, and not only that, but like they're authentically themselves. Whereas someone who is deficient in the throat chakra, like I was recently mentioned in the book, they're going to probably have some jaw tension, some neck pain, um, they might even have some thyroid issues or frequent headaches or chronic sore throats. They'll also probably be shy, they'll have a constricted voice, poor self-expression, um, they'll feel uninspired, and they'll have issues with communication and relationships. On the other side of this, you might be excessive, and um, someone who's is who is excessive in this chakra might be labeled as someone who talks too much or as who is too loud or too expressive, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but we you know we want to have balance to both. But um also with an excessive throat chakra, you might have an issue with lying. And I feel like everybody knows someone in their life that's just been like a habitual liar, and it's like, why are you even lying about like the small things? Absolutely. Have you ever noticed someone in your life that's like lying about stuff that's like, why do you even lie about that? Like, as if I would even care. You know what I mean? Right. It's like, why would I even care about you needing to stop at the gas station or whatever? You know, it's like I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

It's just like the little things. It's like feeling like you start you start small, and then what's gonna happen? It's gonna lead into bigger lies, bigger problems. Exactly. Things are gonna go south, like domino effect.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely, and those keep like you know, like you said, they keep rolling on to each other, and then it's we're so far into where we're not living in our truth at all, you know? And so that's that's the whole point of this this chakra is to be able to speak your truth, um, be able to communicate um without judgment, um, and also to just be able to express yourself. So the identity with this chakra is self-expression, um, whereas the demon for this chakra is going to be lies. It's going to be lying. It's that, and not only lies to yourself or lies to others, but lies to yourself. That's how I really resonate this because there's someone told me one time, they're like, How would you like could you live so authentically and speak your truth so authentically that if everybody that you've ever known in your entire life were in the same room, you'd be able to just be you, not like have to like put on a mask for one part of the group and the other. It's like, can you be you? Can you just live in your truth? Um, and that really hit me because like when I think about that, I'm like, oh yeah, that is a very powerful situation. I wear many hats, you know. And I'm kind of one of those people that will sometimes like adjust oh, what which isn't a bad thing, but like I'll adjust to the situation that I'm in. But it's also it's like, but I don't want to like hinder who I am to fit in with somebody else.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Like I'm going to still be myself in that moment.

SPEAKER_00

Sometimes that will just weed out those people that don't need to be in your life anymore. Yes, exactly. I would much rather be who I am than have to hide my true self.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Because it's not fair to me. Yep. Agreed. All right, so that. Is someone who might be excessive. Let's talk about just the characteristics and things associated with this chakra. So these are all going to be things that you can start to think about to bring balance into this part of your body. So before we get into the characteristics, let's just talk about the location. So obviously we have the throat, which is where the throat tracker lives, but it's also associated with the area that's above and below your throat. So you're thinking also about your neck and your shoulders, and you're also thinking about your jaw, your mouth, your ears, your tongue, and your thyroid. Physically practicing, like in yoga, what you can do to help open up the throat chakra is literally just opening up through the head and shoulders. So doing some neck rolls and things like that. But you can also practice like rolling those shoulders back away from your ears, creating length from your shoulder to your ears, thinking about having those shoulder blades down and the head lifted. Just creating that link through the throat. The principle is sympathetic vibration. So the element is sound, which is why we've been talking about so much vibration and sound. The color associated is going to be blue. So surrounding yourself with blue things will help bring balance to this chakra. And the masculine side of this chakra is going to be the creating order, the distinctions, and the commanding, like the instruction. Whereas the feminine side is going to be the listening, the harmonizing, and the creativity part of it. All right, so to bring balance, we also have some essential oils that you can use, which is going to be frankincense, sage, peppermint, eucalyptus, and tea tree. There's more other than that, but those are the main ones. Frequency sound, which this one is so powerful because again, our element is sound or ether space. And so our frequency is going to be 741 hertz, which is the frequency of solving problems, expressions, and solutions. Our seed sound is hum, but spelled H-A-M, H A M in the funny am, um, but it's pronounced hum. So um when thinking about bringing balance to the chakra, what we did for class today, um, well, you can hum, obviously, but just bring the vibration to that throat chakra. So like speaking, um, humming. But for me personally, I love to sing. And so um we we printed out the lyrics to four non-blondes, what's up? You know, the song, what's going on? Um we we sang that at the beginning of class today to just get the energy moving and the vibrations going around the throat chakra. It was so fun. It was so fun.

SPEAKER_00

We turned the music up solo and we just sang our hearts out.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. And the reason why we did this is because this is just one of the ways that we can purify ourselves um with the throat chakra. So bringing in that vibration to the throat chakra rids toxins, substances, and dissonant vibrations uh to go all the way through the chakra. So doing things like uttering sound, chanting, singing, speaking your truth all have a purifying effect on the subtle body. We feel lighter and more core coherent when we do so. Um, and it also suggests that vibrations, when they are attuned and harmonized, have a quality of purity that puts us in touch with a sense of universal truth. Um, so just bringing that vibration and that energy up to the throat chakra can be so powerful.

SPEAKER_00

Um can I add to this? Yeah, absolutely. Okay, so I know I've mentioned this before, but um with Oliver, we we do music therapy for him because it's um actually has really, really helped um with communication. Even though he's considered like non-verbal, he um is able to use like the the teacher comes in with a tablet and he can tell her what song to play. And like sometimes we think that um he's singing along because he'll just do his like humming noise. And so it's been it's been really interesting, but um just sound in general for him is extremely healing, and um, it's been a great way to help communicate because when he watches YouTube on his personal tablet, I sometimes think he is speaking through music, so he'll go find like all these frozen videos and he'll like go and like find his like specific parts and he'll just like repeat them over and over again. And but it's like the words, I'm listening to the words, and it's a feeling. It's like a so yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

No, sound is so powerful, and that's why I love this chakra so much, is because I've experienced so much healing through sound. I'm like, obviously, we're sound healers, so you know. Um, but I get really excited about this chakra because especially when we practice the seed sound at the end, which we will do today, but you can really feel it in your chakra. And it's yeah, it's just it's really important because you want to be like your truth is worth being heard, and you shouldn't have to feel like you have to small, like make yourself smaller or hide things about yourself to make other people feel comfortable. So I hope that's the one thing that you get from this episode today is that you are worthy of living your authentic truth. Um, and your opinion matters. So feel free to voice it because other people might get inspired from hearing your truth as well. And then the domino effect. Right.

SPEAKER_00

And single all your favorite songs that make you feel good.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. The world needs more people that are just truthful and live in their truth. So yeah, find what feels good. I told all the students on their way out of here, I was like, go in your car, turn on your favorite song, and jam to it on the way home. Like, I hope you all are seeing it on your way home.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we got a video of it, so um we're gonna be posting it, and so you guys will be able to have access to kind of like see how we did it. Um oh man, that was it was the perfect song. It was great. It was just great. Um, so yeah. And all of our students loved it. And we had ones that really got into it and just they were like, yes, like this is my vibe, dude.

SPEAKER_02

Well, that's what I was hoping for. I know, like I feel like hopefully everyone will know this song.

SPEAKER_00

And it just like felt like a like a hippie. I know. I know. I love living like a hippie suns, and just that felt so good. But it also, um, when we first started, I have to we we started we started from our root and we kind of like worked up and we came off of our map. But before when we were setting up class, what did I say to you today?

SPEAKER_02

Oh my gosh, this should have been my magic moment. I should have written this down. We were we were chit-chatting and we were singing and stuff, the song got done, and you're like, I love you, Kimmy. And I like paused for a second and I like looked up and I was like, I love you too, Britt. Because like and then we were talking about last week. Brittany never initiates it. So I was like, I was like, I always initiate it. Like she'll she'll sing it back, but I always initiate it. That was the first time I think you've ever just been like, I think it was like, and it was just like biting the tongue.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, I didn't even, it wasn't even like a like a second thought in my mind.

SPEAKER_02

It just was like I love you, and I was like, ah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I think it made a little noise.

SPEAKER_02

I was like, I love you too. And then you like looked at me.

SPEAKER_00

And I was like, Oh, oh, I just said I love you. You did, and I was like, Yay, and I feel like that's also so associated with our throat chakra because it's like speaking how like well, you gotta have those feelings, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You have to have your heart open in order to to know what your truth is first, right? You know, know what feels good within, and then now we're getting the courage and all that lower chakra energy is making its way up so that we can live authentically, and then next week we're gonna be talking about next week we're talking about the third eye, which is so fun because that's where like all of our intuition comes into play. So it'll be great. But anything else you want to add about the throat chakra? Any other? Oh, actually, I do. So another way that you can bring emphasis to the throat chakra, you can practice jamandara banda. Um, that is the throat lock in yoga, so you can try Googling just throat lock instead of jamandara, unless you unless you want to. Um, but it is just a thinking about pressing the back of your tongue up into the roof of your mouth. And this is just an energetic hold that brings that energy and piles it up within the throat chakra, and you'll just hold it for however long as you can. When you release, it's letting that energy flow back out. And you just practice that a couple of times, and it's a a good way to kind of like physically engage the throat chakra. And when you're doing it right, you'll feel a pull like from the top of your throat all the way down to the base of your neck and maybe even down into your belly. It's like a you can feel like a string being pulled all the way up. Um, but yeah. All right, let's go ahead and get into our note card activity for today. Brittany's gonna lead us through, and then we'll go ahead and get into it.

SPEAKER_00

All right, so you're gonna grab that note card, and on the front of the note card, we're gonna answer two questions here. The first question is what is something I've been wanting to say but haven't. Or where in my life do I hold back my truth? And you can pause at any time to answer these questions, and then once you're done answering those questions, you're gonna flip that card over. And we have two more questions that you're gonna answer. The first one is what would it feel like to express myself honestly? Or what do I need to feel safe using my voice? And if you need some affirmations for the week to help kind of like bring that throat chakra vibe in, we've got so you can write these down. Um, we have my voice matters, I speak my truth with clarity and confidence. I am safe to express myself. And um, I actually really like that last one. I am safe to express myself. It's taking me a very, very, very long time to be able to embrace that. Yes, because growing up I was not able to express myself, and it's interesting being an adult. Like at first, when I became an adult, I was wild. Now I'm a little bit more tamed, and now I'm more in tune with myself. But like when you cannot express yourself, it's lonely, it's lonely, it wreaks havoc, not just like on just like closing that chakra off, but like like medically, like with your thyroid, and so and like that's something that I have issues with. And um, if you look back, um, thyroid issues are they'll tell it'll tell you in the research, like you need to express yourself, you need to do these things.

So we also had our quote of the day, which was I'm unafraid to ask for what I want, and that was a good one because it's like, yeah, you deserve to ask for what you want, you know, like you're worthy of it.

SPEAKER_00

So don't be afraid to speak your truth, vocalize what you feel you deserve, vocalize your needs, speak it into existence, and don't be a yes man, say no, and don't feel guilty about it because it is important to honor your feelings and speak that.

SPEAKER_02

But yes, okay. Um, we're gonna go ahead and get settled into our meditation for today. So if you would like to lie down, feel free to get yourself into a comfortable position. Otherwise, you can just soften your gaze and we'll get started. As you start to settle in here, take a slow inhale through the nose. And as you exhale, find a slight constriction to the back of your throat. You can imagine you're fogging a piece of glass out in front of you. Again, inhale and exhale. In yoga, we call this pranayama ujayi or ujayi breath. So as you breathe here, I want you to find that constriction through the back of your throat. And this is giving your body permission to relax, to release, but it's also releasing the toxins within your body, the stress, anything that feels heavy. So go ahead and take another deep breath in.

Uh, exhale out. Again, inhale, exhale, inhale, and exhale. Continue to breathe at your own pace.

Start to bring your awareness to your throat. Start to notice any subtle sensations here, maybe warmth or pressure, or subtle tingling. Start to visualize a blue, glowing, vibrant light at the center of your throat chakra. This blue light represents the energy of the throat, the energy of authentic expression, emotion. With each breath you take, feel this blue light growing stronger and expansive, filling your neck, throat, your jaw, and the surrounding areas. Allow this blue light to travel through you. And as it does, it's releasing any blockages, any tension or discomfort that may be preventing your voice from being heard. Feel the energy of this light gently dissolving any fears or self-doubts that have been stored in your throat. Let this light wash over you, cleansing any restrictions, and bringing balance to the throat chakra. You have the option here to repeat the following affirmations either silently in your mind or out loud to activate that throat chakra energy. And the affirmations are I speak my truth with clarity and confidence. I am free of fear and doubt around speaking my truth. My voice is a tool for self-expression. I listen deeply to my inner wisdom and communicate with grace. Feel the energy of the throat chakra becoming clearer and more vibrant and balanced. Allow the words of the affirmations to sink deeply into your being, resonating with your true self and aligning your voice with your own inner power. With your next breath in, feel the energy of your throat chakra expanding even more, radiating outward, becoming limitless. And with each exhale, feel a sense of relaxation and ease moving through your throat, neck, and shoulders. If there's any tension in your jaw, gently release it, relaxing. And release your tongue from the roof of your mouth, allowing the tongue to become heavy. Take a deep breath in and visualize this blue chakra energy filling your entire being, radiating from your throat like a beacon of light and blocking any areas that have been shut off or restricted or blocked. I want you to imagine yourself now standing in front of a mirror. You see yourself as confident, you're authentic, you're standing tall, your shoulders are relaxed, and your heart is open. You feel comfortable and at ease knowing that you are able to speak your truth freely. Visualize yourself as you express your thoughts, ideas, and creativity without hesitation, with clarity, and with confidence. Notice how your words are effortless. They're filled with love and kindness and truth. Your voice is strong, steady, and calm. You communicate openly, expressing yourself, knowing that what you say is valuable and deserving of being heard. Feel the power in your voice as you share your authentic self with the world. Just take a moment here to fully experience the sense of empowerment. Feel the vibrancy and clarity within you as you continue to breathe deeply. Inhale deeply, allowing the energy of the throat chakra to fill every corner of your being, from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. And with your exhale, release any remaining tension, doubt, or fear that may be lingering. Let go of any thoughts or emotions that may hold you back. Let's take one final deep breath in and feel the energy of your throat chakra vibrating throughout your entire body. And as you exhale, release any lingering negativity. Allow the throat to remain open and free. You can slowly start to bring your awareness back to the present moment, carrying with you the energy of clear and confident communication. We will end our meditation today by practicing our seat sound with the throat chakra, which is hum spelt H A M. And we will chant this here three times together. So go ahead and take a deep breath in. Allow the vibrations to settle in. Feel that energy around your throat chakra. And with your next inhale, bring your palms together at heart center. Setting the intention here to bring balance to the throat chakra and to be able to fully express ourselves, express our truth. Holding this intention in your heart, bring your hands up to your third eye, connecting your heart and mind, and with your next exhale, bring your hands back to your heart. Be kind today to yourself and to others around you. Thank you all so much for practicing with us today. Namaste.
