SDEpisode17-Third Eye Chakra W/Guided Meditation
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The third eye chakra isn’t about seeing more, it’s about seeing clearly.
In this episode, we explore the layers of intuition, illusion, and inner truth. We break down how fear, conditioning, and overthinking can distort our perception, and how reconnecting to the body can help guide us back to clarity.
Through reflection, breathwork, and meditation, this conversation invites you to question what you believe, trust what you feel, and reconnect with the quiet voice within.
Because most of the time…you already know.
Welcome back, fellow yogis, to our podcast. Next to me, I have my co-host Kimmy.
SPEAKER_01Next to me, I have my co-host, Brittany. Welcome, welcome, everybody.
SPEAKER_04This is a great week. It has been a great week. We're gonna be talking about the third eye today. The third eye chakra, also known as Agnia.
SPEAKER_01And next week, Kimmy gets to talk about our crown chakra. The final and seventh chakra. And then we'll be moving on. Yeah. Our little series here.
unknownThis week.
SPEAKER_01Ah, well, tell me about your week, Brittany. What have you been up to? Okay. Any shout-outs or magic moments?
SPEAKER_04Um, busy week. We did um baseball season. Full swing, so we're in baseball season. Alright. Yep, it's been great. Um we well on We went to Hemsley Garden this year.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yeah, we did their uh little floral workshop, and that was way fun.
SPEAKER_04Their little potting party, and I thought that was the greatest thing ever. We found the coolest stuff. You tell them about the herb that you found.
SPEAKER_01Oh yes, have you guys heard of pineapple sage? Because I haven't before, and then I found that while I was there, and I definitely planted one, took one home. Um, it smells so good. Literally, like pineapple and sage. But it it's but it's pretty, yeah. It has these cute little red, reddish-pinkish flowers on it too that bloom. And so yeah, I'm gonna grow some of that this year and find out how that works.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, so we took two big, huge round potting pots and we filled them up with flowers and those are gonna go in the front of the yoga studio, and then we did some hanging baskets for that.
SPEAKER_01Heck yeah.
SPEAKER_04I know, just adding in a little bit of color. But they had some really cool plants in there. Oh yeah. Like I some of them, like I was I was very impressed with them.
SPEAKER_01That they brought up because it wasn't like a lime tree. I know, but it was actually called, but it was Was it an herb? I don't think it was an herb either. But it almost looked like a succulent, like it was like had the thick, oily leaves almost, but it was yeah, you smelt it and it smelled just like limes. It smelled so good. Yeah, they had all sorts of cool stuff in there. I had tons of fun, and it was so cute. It was all the ladies in there were cute, and the the treats that they had from Natalie, of course, are always always good. So it was that was super enjoyable.
SPEAKER_04I was like, I just kept saying, Oh my gosh guys, this is so great. And like they were all helpful, they had the best advice. I actually learned a lot.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I had no informative that there was like a process to actually setting up your your plant, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like that proper way. So that was that was great. It was very grounding too. That dirt was really good.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was just fun to play in the greenhouse, really. It was yeah, just like to roam around and fangirl over all the cute plants. It was fun.
SPEAKER_04It was so great, and we got some videos, so I'll be making a video of that soon. Because that was I thoroughly enjoyed it, and you know what? It wasn't too long. I think we were only there for like an hour and 20 minutes. We did pretty good, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because we had quite a few pots. Well, we had a lot of pots. We had we had five total, but two of them were huge, huge. We used like three bags of soil, yeah.
SPEAKER_04We did, and it was really cool because like they were like, man, those workers at Hemsley Garden, they were so great. They're like, hey, we're gonna try this, and they took those like plastic things that your plants come in, tipped them upside down so we weren't using up so much dirt and like so it wasn't also like 80 pounds, yeah.
SPEAKER_01It was yeah, they showed us some cool stuff, it was really great. If you guys are local and haven't been in there yet, you should go check it out because they've they've updated some things since the greenhouses are phenomenal. Yeah, it looks great in there.
SPEAKER_04Quality, everything. Yeah, the plants are awesome, and they have like these really cute signs above, so like you can never get lost and like and it yeah, it's just my the overall experience five star. Go go check it out, guys. Um, I have a magic moment. Um, so my my 12-year-old junior, he built it up in jujitsu. Oh and um Asset, who is the company that he goes through, um, they totally did a social media shout-out on him.
SPEAKER_01And I was just like, this is like this, I yeah. That's exciting. Yeah, I love to see him excelling. I just a little cutie. I know he is a little guy, he's the best. Um, we also did our mobility workshop this week with Cody. Oh yeah, yeah, and that was great. And this was your first mobility because the last time he came and did a workshop, you were working. It was so this was your first time to actually experience one of his workshops. What did you think?
SPEAKER_04Um, definitely wore the wrong clothes.
unknownWhat were you?
SPEAKER_04Oh, you're wearing a hoodie. Oh my gosh, that's right. You were like sweating. When he was like, when he was like, we're gonna do a couple circuits, and I was like, oh I sweat easy. So anyway, so like I was a little, you know, there was beads of sweat on the top of my forehead, but um overall I thought it was great. I hope this continues to work out because I think it's something that our community really needs.
SPEAKER_01Oh well, it just felt so good. I mean the stuff was so simple too, but didn't you feel so much better at the end of the day? Oh, yeah. I I walked out and I was like, I feel like I just did like two hours of yoga, and like I don't know, I just felt lighter and more open at the end. I felt great.
SPEAKER_04And it was really cool because like Cody's like his mobility is top tier, top tier phenomenal. I've never seen a man with mobility like I and he doesn't he doesn't do yoga. No, he just does mobility, which is great. Yeah, it was so interesting to see like how there was some yoga. It was like some of the stuff was very familiar.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And we just do a little different in yoga, huh? Yeah. But a lot of it, yoga is like combined with mobility too. Like a lot of the stuff that we do in is mobility practice, but the way that he broke it down and like really had us like zone in and like take it slow, like that's where it like really steps it up for me. Um, but yeah, he did great. I love that one. I loved it, yeah.
SPEAKER_04And he's coming back. So Mark your calendars. Mark your calendar. Yeah, May May 15th. 15th. He'll be back. 6 p.m.
SPEAKER_01Come join us, you'll feel better afterward, I promise you. Yep. Ah, well, I have a magic moment to share. Okay. Okay, so some of my best friends here in town own a farm, and um, every year they'll do a branding, and they'll bring in some cowboys and do the whole thing. It's like it's like Yellowstone out there, it's so fun. Um, but anywho, um, normally when I help out with the brandings, I'm just like spraying their backs. I'm just like applying medicine, like I'm not doing anything crazy, and like the cowboys get to do all the fun stuff, right? So, but one of the cowboys there was so nice. Um, they went down to go herd in the second herd that they were bringing up, and normally I'm just sitting there waiting, just like watching them all. But like I love horses, and I think I was maybe vocal about it during the day too. I was like, Oh, this is so fun, like I love this, I love horses, but you know, I'm just saying doing my dumb stuff, but anywho, um he offered and he's like, you want to go load up this or saddle up this horse, and we can go down and herd with him. And I was like, Are you for real? I was like, Yes. And so yeah, he he loaded her. My horse's name was Rosie, and she was the best horse I've ever ridden in my entire life. Because like I've been on some where I like feel uncomfortable and like skittish, like they don't really listen, you know. Oh, she's a good girl. The second I got out of the gates, we were just galloping. I've never ridden a horse so fast in my entire life, mind you. Like the wind was just in my hair, and I was just like felt light as a feather, dude. I wish anybody, like anyone driving on the highway, just sees this little girl just hauling on this horse. Oh, it was so fun. And she knew exactly what to do, so she like went out to the edge of the like I was living like my little cowgirl fantasy, dude. Like this horse knew exactly what to do. She took me right to the edge and she helped Turtle herd these cows, and whenever there were some that were coming out, she knew exactly what to do. She'd speed it up and she'd bring it back in. And oh my gosh, I had so much fun. It was definitely my magic moment of my week. I was like, this is the best feeling ever. It was it was great. I love that feeling. I love horses, I love being able to play cowgirl, so um, yeah, that was absolutely fun. Highlight of my week.
SPEAKER_04So I got a shout-out. Oh, what's your shout-out? Shout out to King's Coffee.
SPEAKER_02Oh, King's Coffee!
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. Um, I went in there the other day before I went to go clean houses, and I just like leaned forward and I was like, hey, it's me. And she was like, oh hey. And I was with Jordan because he was helping me clean. And dude, she totally knew our orders. Like she she looked, she looked at Jordan and she was like, Child today? And he was like, actually, yes. And she was like, Macchiato, and I was like, Yes. Um, love King's Coffee. Me too. Low-key obsessed with their TikTok. They're so cute. I love watching their drinks be made, but um, it's the spin at the end when she's swirling everything together. What is that? Food ASMR? Probably, but I only I don't hear the actual noise, but it's just satisfying. It is. Um, do you have any shout-outs today?
SPEAKER_01I don't have any shout-outs, but I do have a love to share for the week. So I've and you've probably experienced this too, but I I love when I'm just out and about and like people like we'll be doing like so I was at the branding, but it was like way later in the day, we're like eating lunch and stuff. Someone came up to me and they're just did like a low squat. But like in this low squat, they're like, oh, I need some yoga. And they're like, How does this look? Like, what would you like? Do you ever have people like come up and just like do something and be like, oh, I need yoga, I need to come in here. What is it like? How does this look? You know, like what would you do for this? Like, people just start showing you their body, and they're like, How actually I had a yoga student do that to me yesterday.
SPEAKER_04Oh, did you? Yeah, actually, it was actually really, really cool for me. So um, she was asking about her downward dog, and I couldn't like she was the way she was verbally explaining, I couldn't like understand, so I had her actually physically show me could so I could see. Um, but she was concerned about her heels not touching the ground, and I was like, oh, I was like, don't worry about that. I was like, that's pretty normal, but like I also had to make like alignment adjustments because she was very far shift forward, almost in like a plank worth with her hips rised up, and I was like, oh no, like anyways, it was really cool, it was a good hands-on experience for me.
SPEAKER_01Oh, see, yeah, I love it when people like come up and ask questions. That's also it's so funny because it was like so imprompted too. Yeah, it was just like so random. I'm like, okay.
SPEAKER_04But I just pretty much told her, I was like, at this point, like if you it's just like an ankle, like an ankle mobility thing. It's like just work on foot mobility and you'll soon start to feel that release, and your heels are slowly drop down. But like, I also told her, I was like, no pressure. I was like, nobody's heels are touching. I was like, the only reason why they're touching today is because it's my second hot yoga class that I've taught, and it's been like the same thing. I was like, so like I do this a lot, yeah. Like it's taken a little bit. I was like, no pressure though, because like a lot of people, I mean, it's it's just not an expectation. Like, I don't expect you to bring your heels all the way down, but I want you to open up and stretch through your calves. Yep, that's it. Absolutely. Um, oh, I'm glad you shared that with me. Yeah. I have a love. What's your love? Okay, so I love two things. I love, and they're all about my husband. Oh, there's a lot of people. Yeah, because he came in, so I feel so I felt so bad for him. I told him not to make any plans for Friday night because we were gonna do the mobility class, and I was like, it's gonna be, it's gonna be easy. Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01And then Cody has this working out, and yeah, and just like the looks that I would get when we would do something pretty challenging, like his side bomb, side out of you. He's like, what the heck?
SPEAKER_04Um, but overall he was just like, no, that was I'm glad that you made me go. And he was also like just like for the last couple days, he's been commenting about like how much he loves how calming the studio is, and that he just loves to be here. And he was like, he just always every time he leaves, he's like, You guys have just this is you've kind of done a great job. Like, this is so great. And I was like, Thanks, Matt. Thanks. What a guy. You got a good man. Yes, I do. Um, okay, and I actually have a hate today. Oh, what's your hate? My hate is when time creeps up on you. Like when you don't realize, like you're like, oh, it's the first of the month, and then uh it's the end of the month, like in a blink of an eye. Yes, and I feel like that's been happening a lot to us. Yeah, like we've been like so busy, like I just maybe it's just us losing track at time.
SPEAKER_01Well, I think it's just we've been so busy that yeah, it just really goes by fast.
SPEAKER_02Yep, so that's my hint. Do you do you have an FMK?
SPEAKER_01I do have an F Mary Kill today. I've been slacking on those lately, but I actually thought of one today. So um, would you rather F Mary or Kill, fascia work, lymphatic work, or cold therapy? You know what I mean? That can be like whatever, like cryotherapy, or if you want to do like ice baths or icing in general. So fascia, lymphatic, lymphatic, or the cold therapy.
SPEAKER_04Oh. Okay, so I'm just gonna go ahead and kill the cold therapy because I've never done it. Like I haven't ice bathed yet. You probably should try that. I wonder if I should, but I also wonder not, because I've also read that like if your body is always in the state of fight or flight, it can try to do it. It can be really like it's not doing my body a service because I'm already in there, and then that's yeah, because if you do your research on it, like there's a whole there's a whole thing on it, so you can Google it. Um whereas like I probably should be focusing more on heat and releasing and relaxing instead of just being like because I'm already like this. Yeah. I'm already in, you know, fight or flight all the time. So and that's something I have been I'm working on in 2026 is to relax. Yeah. Um so yeah, I'll probably just like go ahead and kill that for now. Um, I'm gonna marry lymphatic. And I'm going to uh show you really.
SPEAKER_01Have you ever ice bat? Have I ever iced back?
SPEAKER_04Or like what like any have you ever done okay.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, um, I did the whole Wim Hof workshop that so when you do like the breath work and stuff along with it, it's really not bad. It's really good for like your circulation and like you know, I don't know. There's all there's all sorts of benefits to it as well.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, I'm not knocking it down because like at some point I would really like to do that.
SPEAKER_01But I think there's definitely benefits to it, but it's it's one of the harder ones because it's like it's cold, it's uncomfortable. Yes, yeah, I would say I'm probably also going to marry lymphatic. I'm gonna F the ice bass, and I'm gonna kill a fashion work. Okay, which is crazy. I don't know.
SPEAKER_04I like the I can see that though in you. See, and I do too, because like even though I haven't tried like that cult therapy, like definitely not opposed to it. Definitely recommend it for people who are yeah, I I it's a recommended practice. Um, lots of celebrities do it, like it's it's a highly recommended um method to healing your body. Yeah, um, okay, so I have an FMK and it's sports edition. Oh, okay. I know, sorry, I'm random. Okay, baseball, pickleball, track. And with track, you can do any track and kill.
SPEAKER_01Killing track already. Immediately kill track. I'm not, I used to love running. I'm not a runner anymore. Like, you won't catch me running. You see me like doing cardio at the gym, I'm walking uphill. Like, I'm not running. You like stuff. So kill the track. What were my other options? Pickleball and what? Baseball. F baseball, Mary pickleball. Okay. Yeah. Pickleball's fun. Pickleball is fun. Baseball, not very good at it, but is anybody? Some people definitely mean.
SPEAKER_02What about you? What are you picking?
SPEAKER_04Ooh. I'm gonna marry baseball. Okay. And F pick them all. I'm too short for track. You're gonna like the but the the You have two little legs, okay? Not running. I do a great long distance, probably in the long distance running, because like you can keep a steady pace, but like you're not I'm not gonna have a long jump.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm so I don't know. Running is just, I don't know. The last time, so I did a half marathon when I was what 17. And I fractured my foot while it on my on like mile six, I fractured my foot. Oh my gosh. I got just a stress fracture, like it wasn't anything crazy, but like it totally turned me off to running after that because I was like, I and after a half marathon, I hurt so bad, and I was just like, this is not worth it. Like, and now when I run, like occasionally I will run because it's like good to do sprints just to like try, you know. But like it feels so hard on my joints. I think I'm maybe too mindful of my body to where I'm like, no, that's too hard. Like, it's too hard on my bones. I don't I don't want to run and ruin my knees, but that's also probably just an excuse, so whatever. Oh well. Sweet. Um, pull of the day. Okay, let's do our poll of the day. So we are pulling from the comfy, cozy witch oracle set from Jenny Blonde. And today we pulled the blue candle. Uh-oh. Which is so funny that we pulled the blue candle because blue is associated with our third eye chakra, which is what we're gonna be talking about today. Um, but the words on this card for the blue candle say tranquility and healing. Alright, so with this reading, it comes with a mantra, a message, and a prompt. So our mantra is I know what I need to heal my mind and body. I like that one. The message. Like the tranquil blues of the sea and sky and the healing properties of water, the blue candle card is here to remind you of the innate healing powers you possess. Pulling this card signifies either there's an area of your being that needs healing attention, or you're on a path towards body and mind burnout that could lead to issues down the road. Pay attention to what you're putting into your mind and body and how you're moving throughout the day. Would a well-rounded diet benefit your well-being? Do you need to move your body in mindful stretches, gentle exercises, and nature walks? Tap into how your body and mind feel. Light a blue candle when you're in need of tranquility and healing. Stare at its flame as you envision a healing blue light move through your body from the top of your head to the tips of your toes. In your prompt, what areas and people in my life bring me tranquility and peace? How can my magical practice help me heal the wounds in my mind, body, and spirit? It's a good one. That really is all about healing and the intuition of knowing that your body knows what you need. Which we'll talk about here in a second.
SPEAKER_04Um, yeah, so let's let's talk about the third eye. This is This is going to be a really good topic today. So, diving right into it, I'm going to be reading some passages out of Anita Judith's chakra yoga book. And this is going to be on page 364 for reference. After tuning your subtle vibrations through the purification of the fifth chakra, you are ready to develop the luminous light of chakra six. Now the experience is more transcendent, taking you beyond this world and into an archetypal realm of deep wisdom and beauty. Color and form, insight and intuition spring into view as the third eye center opens wide. Here is where you find the light that will illuminate your path. As each of the chakras represent a perspective of consciousness, the sixth chakra represents seeing, which brings you revelations about yoga, your life, and the world. By now you have enough practice in your bones that you may have found yourself saying, Oh, I see. Meaning that you are beginning to see what your teachers have been pointing to and what yoga philosophers have been describing for a millennia. You may be able to see your own patterns, perceive the movement of subtle energy, or have more access to your intuition. You can imagine the lines of energy within a pose and see your light body. Your inner sight illuminates the inside of your temple, bathing it in golden iridescence. We can only see in the now. Yoga occurs in the present moment, not as a concept, but as a profound experience. Yoga is a discipline that requires instruction passed on from teacher to student, and the goal of yoga is to cultivate a state of consciousness in which the mind is no longer distracted, agitated, or fluctuating, but is calm, clear, present, and still. When this is achieved, our true nature as a seer is revealed. The name of this chakra is Agna. Agna means both to perceive and to command. The idea of perception is fairly obvious for a chakra that is about seeing. It is through our eyes that we see the world and through our consciousness that we perceive its meaning. But even more, it is when we truly see that we realize meaning we see with real eyes, perceiving the underlying truth and luminous light within all creation. Intuition, insight, memory, and dreams all have to do with the process of consciousness perceiving something. This aspect of perception is somewhat passive. We receive insight, impressions, or dreams often without really trying. So the third eye chakra is your seat of intuition, perception, imagination, memory, dream space, psychic ability, and visualization. When your third eye chakra is balanced, you access a powerful source of inner guidance nourished by abundance, clarity, and wisdom. The third eye chakra has the power to see beyond barriers and illusions. Its energy brings insight into what's happening around you, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. She's a powerful one.
SPEAKER_01No, I love the third eye chakra, because yeah, it's all about that intuition, that inner knowing, and like, like we were talking about before, like our body innately knows how to heal itself. And that's like for me, like the third eye chakra. So I yeah, this is a good one. This is a good one. You guys know so much more than you even actually consciously know.
SPEAKER_04Um, so the color associated with the third eye chakra is indigo or blue. The element is light. Uh, the principle to this chakra is luminescence, illumination, beauty, stillness, single pointed focus, and inner light. The purpose is insight, guidance, and wisdom. The body parts that are going to be associated with this uh third eye chakra is your eyes, forehead, and penal gland, and that penal gland is in the back of your head, down by the base of the neck and where the head connects. Um, practices um for this chakra is quieting the mind and focusing the gaze. Actions is centering stillness, imagination, visualization. The masculine energy here is going to be illumination, revelation, penetrating insight, and vision. The feminine side is beauty, intuition, radiance, and perception. When someone is deficient in this chakra, they're gonna feel and go through denial, cynicism, they're gonna be cynical, closed-mindedness, impaired vision, poor memory, fixation, and mental health imbalances. When you are excessive, you're gonna be a little delusional. Um, there might be some hallucinations, difficulty sleeping, tension headaches, nightmares. Um, when you're balanced, you're gonna feel clarity, you're gonna have pure vision, wisdom, and intuition. Affirmations associated with this chakra, or is I feel, I act, I sense, I see. So, for example, I trust my intuition to reveal the path I'm supposed to walk in life. Uh, with love as my inner guidance, I welcome healing and step into light. My third eye is open and receptive. My intuition guides me and I listen. For essential oils, you can use jasmine, frankincense, chamomile rose, clarisage, and geranium. Um, today on our students, we used frankincense, clary sage, and lavender and lavender when we at the end of every class we try to apply essential oils to our students. Um, your frequency for sound is 852 hertz. It's known for its ability to boost intuition and awareness. And the seed sound is ohm. O M. Ohm. Oh, the We did some ohms today and it was great. I've actually been really enjoying the chanting. I like the seed sounds there. Yes. So the demon associated with this chakra is illusion. And the identity is self-reflection. Um, something else that is also associated with this um third eye chakra is our drishti. And um our drishti is our gaze. It's that focus point that we're always telling you to find out in front of you, whether it's on the ground, the wall. It's a step something steady and not moving, so it can help you stay grounded into any of your balancing poses. Or you can do gazing meditations. Um, we use candle, we used cute little tea lights today for our students to um work on our drishti.
SPEAKER_01And yeah, you can use your drishti as like a physical practice to like keep you grounded, but like drishti in general, it's like where you focus your awareness is where you're gonna go. And I feel like that's kind of profound because it's like, well, if you're focusing on all the bad things that are happening in your life, you're gonna continue, like the law of attraction, you're gonna continue to bring in more of that negative energy. Whereas where you're focusing your Drishti, if you're focusing on all the good things, all the wonderful things that are happening in your life, you'll start to bring in more of those. So Drishti, your point, your point of awareness, where you're bringing your concentration to is actually very important, yeah, for what you're wanting to bring into your life.
SPEAKER_04Um, um, so more of like a here, like historical and spiritual side to this is the third eye has been recognized across multiple traditions. In ancient Hindu philosophy, Agna is the command center where intuition and higher awareness guide action, um, often symbolized by Shiva's third eye, representing the ability to see beyond illusion. In Buddhist practices, it relates to insight and awakening, and some connect it to the penal gland, which regulates sleep cycles and has long been considered a spiritual antenna. Um, across cultures, um, the theme, the theme is the same. The third eye represents seeing truth beyond the physical world. Um, okay, so who's Shiva? So I just mentioned Shiva's third eye. In yoga tradition, Shiva is one of the principal deities in Hindu philosophy, often known as the destroyer, but not in a negative sense. Uh, Shiva represents the transformation and dissolution of illusion, clearing the way for truth and higher awareness. He's deeply associated with meditation, stillness, and inner consciousness, and is often depicted with a third eye on his forehead. This third eye symbolizes the ability to see beyond the physical world and ego into deeper truth. In many yogic stories, when Shiva opens his third eye, it burns away illusion, making him a powerful symbol of awakening, intuition, and inner vision, which is why he's so closely connected to our third eye chakra.
SPEAKER_01I love that story.
SPEAKER_04I know me too. And to be honest, I didn't know Shiva was a man.
SPEAKER_01I didn't either. Okay.
SPEAKER_04But he. So emotional and physical or psychological associations with the third eye. Um, in that balance state, we kind of talked about like you're gonna feel clarity, uh, trust in your you're gonna trust in yourself, you're gonna be open-minded, um, you'll have emotional intelligence and ability to reflect without spiraling, which I think we can all be guilty for the mental spiral.
SPEAKER_01Because it's it comes and it's hard to ignore.
SPEAKER_04So a blocked or underact underactive chakra here. Um there's gonna be a lot of self-doubt, uh, overthinking, that feeling of being lost or direction directionless, um, disconnection from your purpose and relying heavily on others for answers.
SPEAKER_01Having no clear vision, right? Yeah, no clear vision. It's like it's the sight, the illuminating light. It's like when you feel lost. Probably on balance in this chakra.
SPEAKER_04Um, overactive. Um, you're gonna have anxiety rooted in what ifs, obsessive thinking, illusion, delusion, or spiritual bypassing. Um you might also be living in imagination instead of reality. I mean, in 20, you know, this is it's a hard, it's a hard year. Like, or not like a hard year, but like since COVID, it's been a lot, it's been hard on people. So I can see why people would want to live in imagination instead of reality.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, especially in the age we live in of like VR and nothing's real anymore. Like it's all like it's very easy to be thrown off with your third eye chakra right now because like with AI, we don't even know what videos are real out there right now. Absolutely. And music, people are getting like and like yeah, nothing's music is getting downloaded off of Spotify. Yeah, like it's as the generations go on, we just keep getting more and more disconnected from our third eye chakra, our inner knowing, our inner intuition. And so, yeah, we need to get reconnected with it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So when we talk about illusion with the third eye, we're talking about the gap between what is actually true versus what we believe is true. Uh, in yoga, yogic philosophy, illusion is often referred to as maya, the idea that our perception of reality is filtered through conditioning, fear, past experiences, and ego. So the third eye's role isn't to add anything new, it's to help strip away what isn't real. So, what what illusions might look like in real life? So, stories we create in our mind. It's the they don't like me, I'm not good enough, this will never work. Uh, these often feel true, but they're interpretations, not facts.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, well, yeah, I like raise my hand if you've ever sometimes, especially when you're in a new situation, it's like you automatically, it's like someone can give you just like maybe a wrong look, and maybe they weren't even intentional about it. Maybe they were, who knows? But it's like automatically you're telling yourself the story. Oh, I shouldn't be here, or they don't want me here, whatever. It's like we're controlling our own narrative in a negative way. Can we re- can we re-narrate that into a positive way? Can we let go of those illusions?
SPEAKER_04Um, so another one is as we're seeing through emotional filters when we're hurt, we're seeing through a lens. So rejection, we're associating that with we assume abandonment, which I totally 100 have felt that actually. Same. Um, fear, that is when we assume failure. But I mean, I think we talked about it last week. Fear is associated with failure. So um so another one is attachment to control. This illusion is gonna tell us if I control everything, I'll feel safe. If I know the outcome, I can relax. But clarity actually comes from letting go of needing to know everything. Um, external validation as truth. This illusion says, if they approve of me, it must be right. If it looks good, it is good. Let go of that external validation. Like the grass is not always greener on the other side, guys. Um, so the third eye energy on this is gonna say, what do I feel regardless of what it looks like? Okay, so Shiva and the illusion. This is where Shiva comes back in. So when Shiva opens his third eye, it's said to burn through illusion. Not people, not the world, but the false perceptions we tend to cling on to. The third eye doesn't make life perfect, it just makes life a little bit more honest. Um, so intuition version versus illusion. So the difference is here. So illusion is gonna feel loud, urgent, very fear-based, um, over judgmental, overthinking spirals.
SPEAKER_01Yes, it's like the manic when it's like you feel like you have no control and it's just like emotion, emotion, emotion.
SPEAKER_04Or like people just set you off, and you're just like, oh my gosh, like yes, um, and need to know immediate answers. Yep, yep. Intuition is gonna feel very quiet, neutral, grounded, um, clear, even if it's a little uncomfortable and doesn't argue. And why we stay in illusion, um, it's because it's familiar, it's the only thing that you probably know at this point. Um, you feel like it protects your ego, um, it it keeps us from change, so it's gonna keep our minds closed.
SPEAKER_01Yep, keep us in that comfort rather than growth.
SPEAKER_04And sometimes the truth requires action, which we're not ready for. So my favorite saying in the whole entire world is actions speak louder than words, and it's so true. Yes. So, how does intuition actually show up? Like recognizing our intuition here. Um, so a lot of people think that intuition is a voice, um, but it's often subtle body signs first. Um, you may recognize these as a quiet knowing that drops suddenly. Maybe it's the pit in the mid gut, and you're like that low feeling.
SPEAKER_01Maybe it's that slight increase of heart rate when you're nervous, you're getting anxious.
SPEAKER_04Um, also that feeling. Like sometimes you just get that feeling, you're like, dude, something's gonna happen. Something's wrong, something is off right. Yes. Um, you might feel pressure tingling between the eyebrows. Um you might start to feel a sense of expansion meaning yes, or contraction meaning no in the body. Um, you might get goosebumps or chills.
SPEAKER_01And for me, I don't know if this is one that you have listed on there or not, but um, I get a lot of my intuition through dreams, which sounds weird because dreams can be so versatile, and sometimes I yeah, like there's no meaning behind dreams, but sometimes I have dreams that wake me up in the dead of night, and it's like my whole body feels it, and I'm like, that meant something. Yes, and so sometimes I get weird intuitive dreams like that too.
SPEAKER_04And you might get a thought that feels calm and neutral, not frantic. Um, my intuition shows up as literally like a gut feeling, and it's like usually like a very intense, like butterfly, like almost like a slight drop in my mouth. Yes.
SPEAKER_01And I'm just like, ooh, something's alright. And um, this is also like for a niche community out there, but for those of you who are like familiar with auras, sometimes for me, my intuition is a visual thing, and it's really weird because like I've been able to see some people's auras, like I've never seen yours. Like it's hits me up the most random times and places, but sometimes I'll see like a dark aura around someone, and I just like immediately know that I need to probably stay away from that person. Like on the opposite side, sometimes I'll see like a yellow or light, like white aura where I'm like, hey, and I feel like I need to like share some light with them that day. Yeah, I don't know, but like, yeah, sometimes so like it is physical at the same time, as well as it's like inner knowing as well, like you can listen to those physical sensations and listen to that internal knowing at the same time.
SPEAKER_04That's great. Um, so how to tune into the intuition. Um, a couple of things here. So you're gonna slow down enough to hear it. Um, intuition gets drowned out by constant stimulation, so silence is necessary here. It's it's like when you're driving and you get lost and the music is on, and you're like, okay, I gotta turn the radio off. I need to just turn the music down so I can see better and hear better. And it makes sense, okay? It does, yeah. And you're like, I absolutely um need silence, and um that's necessary to be able to hear that intuition. So you're gonna ask and then pause. You're gonna ask yourself, is this right for me? And then you're gonna pause and then notice the first feeling, not the second guess. So, what what's that first feeling that you're few that you're getting as soon as you ask yourself that? Um, get into the body. Intuition isn't just mental, it's somatic. So, breath work, stillness, or even placing a hand on your heart or forehead helps anchor it. Um, breath work is absolutely amazing for healing, um, and really like focusing in on that inner self and being present. Yeah, it's a great way to ground. Like, just take five intentional breaths and you're there. If it's one thing that I've learned, like you, like when you're focusing on that breath, you cannot focus on anything else. Um track patterns. Um, intuition strengthens strengthens when you notice when it was right before. So, like track your cycles. Like, what are you doing here?
SPEAKER_01Is it like well, it's also like noticing your own habits and patterns. Like, do you keep getting these gut feelings, these intuitive hits when you go to a certain place? Yes. Like, is that is your body trying to tell you that either you shouldn't be going to this place or like like you know?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And you can do this with people too.
SPEAKER_01So just like if you notice that a person just like angers you and just is always like if you always feel bad or worse when you're always around a specific person, maybe that's an intuitive sign that you need to let it go. Limit your time with them, you know? Or learn how to shield.
SPEAKER_04Both. Um the other thing that you're gonna do is you're gonna reduce noise. We kind of brushed up on that, but like we're going a little bit deeper here, so it's social media, other people's opinions, um, that it's comparisons will from disconnects that's gonna disconnect you from people. And um it's just kind of like reducing all that all that external noise, the stuff that's just like keeping your mind busy.
SPEAKER_01It's like, let's not keep the mind busy, let's have the mind still for a moment.
SPEAKER_04Having you be locked in on your ego and being like, well, they're getting this, this, and this. Why can't I have this, this, and this?
SPEAKER_01Yeah. So get off social media. There's no comparisons here.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, there's actually we have a lot of students that will um take a day off a week. No social media, they silence and they're like, it's the most peaceful thing that they ever do. Um, so what happens when the third eye stays closed? Um if your third eye is closed, you're probably living on autopilot. Um, making decisions based on fear or approval of others, repeating cycles without understanding why, feeling disconnected from purpose and ignoring inner nudges until the force, until life force changes. So when the third eye is blocked, life starts to feel a little confusing when it's open. Things don't always get easier, but they will get clearer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Third eye. Third eye. There's a lot that goes into it, but all in all, trust your intuition. Your body and your mind and your soul, they know a lot more than you give them credit for. So listen to your body, listen to your guts, listen to your emotions. Um, don't hold on to those comparisons and those judgments, and just practice the art of being.
SPEAKER_04Yes, and find some quietness this week. Yes. Okay, we're gonna move on to our note card here.
SPEAKER_01All right, okay. So if you guys have a journal, um, feel free to pull that out. Otherwise, you can grab out a sticky note or a note card, whatever feels good. And we're just gonna take a couple moments to um practice some reflection. And these questions are meant to help guide you um to support your your whole awareness with the third eye chakra. So um the first question I want you to answer, and you can write out the questions so that you can look back and reflect on these in a year from now. I always love doing that. Um your question: where in my life am I ignoring my intuition? Where in my life am I ignoring my intuition? So this might be a relationship that you're in, it could be a decision that you keep overthinking, or it could just be something in your life that doesn't feel aligned, but maybe you're like trying to make it work, you know, like whether that's a job or anything, a friendship, whatever that is. Um, so just take some time to reflect on that. You can pause it here if you need some extra time to really dig deep and think. The second question I want you to answer deep down, I already know. Dot dot dot. So just fill in this sentence. Deep down, I already know this is where your intuition is coming into. So regarding what you wrote on for the first question, what do you already know? Do you already know that that this isn't going to work out deep down? Do you already know that you're wasting your time or energy? Do you know that you can move on? Or like, you know, like just throwing out some examples there. But what do you already know? Like your intuition has been telling you something. What have you been ignoring? Write it down. Write it down. All right, and then lastly, you're going to answer the question. I trust myself to fill in the sentence. So I trust myself to make the right decision, I trust myself to walk away, I trust myself to slow down, I trust myself, and that can be it. I trust myself. Yeah, I trust myself because you know what you need better than anybody else, better than anybody externally could ever give you the validation for. Like you are the only person that knows what you're feeling. Um, so trust yourself. What do you trust yourself to do this week? All right, okay. Take as much time as you need to finish those questions. Um, maybe you have some other questions that you'd like to answer. Take some time to journal and reflect, and then I'm gonna pass the time over to Brittany for our meditation.
SPEAKER_04Go ahead and get comfortable and allow your body to settle. Gently close your eyes and bring awareness to your breath. Inhale through the nose, exhale through the mouth. Again, slow inhale and a soft release. Now begin to bring your awareness to the space between your eyebrows, your third eye center. You don't need to force anything, just notice you might feel warmth, tingling, or maybe nothing at all. All is welcome here. As you breathe, imagine a deep indigo light forming in this space. Soft at first, then slowly growing brighter. With each inhale, this light expands. With each exhale, it softens and opens. Now silently ask yourself, what is it I need to see clearly right now? Don't search for an answer. Just allow. Trust whatever comes, a feeling, a word, an image, or simply stillness. Your intuition doesn't need to be loud to be real. Sitting here for a few more breaths, connected to this inner awareness. Now start to listen to the sounds of your body, starting with your breath. Follow the rhythm of the breath. As you inhale and exhale. Again, not forcing anything, but just listening to the air flowing in and out of your nostrils. Beneath the breath, listen to your heartbeat. Feel it as a vibrating organ at the center of your being, whose vibrations flow rhythmically throughout your body, through every artery. Notice the rhythm of your thoughts. Ignore their content, but imagine you're a silent witness listening to the cadence and tone, as if we're a muffled conversation in the other room. See how your breath, heartbeat, and inner thoughts all dance to a single rhythm, each playing their individual parts. Feel the harmony of each part in concert with others. Now begin to listen to the sounds around you. Listen to any sounds of nature or of cars or people outside. Take your listening into the imaginable realm. Imagine you can hear conversations out on the street, broadcasting on the radio or television, sounds that are occurring in offices, stores, or any music being played. Imagine you can float above your town and listen to the chorus of the whole area as one single song. Expand your view to include all of your town, then the United States, the continent, and finally the whole earth. Imagining this collective sound as one pre-imortal alm resonating all around you and deep within you. When you're ready, start to deepen your breath and bring those hands to heart center. We will be ending today's meditation with our seed sound of alm, chanting it three times together. So when you're ready, take a deep breath in and exhale.
SPEAKER_03Inhale, exhale.
SPEAKER_04Exhale, may you carry this sense of clarity with you. Thank you so much for joining us today.
