We're keeping it raw and real — this episode was recorded just two weeks before our launch, and we are IN it.
The nerves. The excitement. The imposter syndrome. The "wait, why did we sign up for this again?" moments. All of it.
We're talking about what it actually feels like to step into something big — to put your voice, your truth, and your most vulnerable self out into the world. Spoiler: it's terrifying. And we're doing it anyway.
Because the mission has to be bigger than the fear.
In this episode we get into:
- Why visibility feels so scary (even for coaches & healers)
- Imposter syndrome, comparison,a and the stories our minds tell us
- What recommitment actually looks like when you want to quit
- Why being a mentor doesn't mean having it all figured out
- The importance of having a hype girl in your corner 💗
- How to come back to your intention when fear takes the wheel
This one is for every woman who's ever asked herself "does anyone even care?" and did it anyway. We see you. We ARE you.

Hey y'all, this is Desi. And this is Lisa.
SPEAKER_00Welcome to our podcast, Real Talk Real Healing, where we support women through their healing journey. Through raw stories, authentic dialogue, and uncomfortable but very necessary conversations, we explore the full range of emotions, energetic, spirituality, and physical well-being that come with being human.
SPEAKER_01We believe in a world filled with filters and service-level messages that healing begins with truth and a little bit of magic. Welcome back to another episode with Lisa and Desi. And we are here today talking about some things that are coming up as we are launching and releasing this podcast out in the world in less than two weeks. Oh my God.
SPEAKER_00I know it's coming, it's happening, it's finally here. There's definitely overwhelm and excitement all at the same time.
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And we are excited to bring these real conversations. Literally, the app the what our title of our podcast is, because this is the moments that we get to be vulnerable for you. And it is not easy for us, but we are leaning in, we are pushing our comfort zone, and we are showing up.
SPEAKER_00So here we are. So we thought today would be a great opportunity for us to just real talk in real time of what's coming up for us, what we've been moving through as we're launching this really big thing into the world, right? This is so much more than just posting a 30-second reel or, you know, going live for a little bit on Instagram. This is really putting our heart and soul into so much of this work and out loud. And there's so much vulnerability that comes along with that because we are sharing deeper and we are really getting into the nitty-gritty of life. And so I know personally for me, I'm feeling a little bit nervous because we are going to be sharing more of our lives, and this is a deeper platform that we're really diving into. And so there's like all this like excitement, and then also like, oh my gosh, I don't know what's gonna happen and what's gonna happen, you know. And so that's what's been coming up for me, partly. Uh, what about you?
SPEAKER_01I I was just telling you, like, it hasn't fully sunk in yet that we're doing this, and because obviously it's not out there yet officially, but I think tomorrow with our like little bit of our secret coming out there, I will start to feel it a little bit more. I felt definitely nervous recording this episode uh right before we started. And as I was speaking, I'm like, oh my God, it's happening. So I feel a little bit of tightness happening because then it's like, yeah, now I like, you know, our voices are being heard. And that is something that this is not easy. It's not easy to have your voice be heard because we have these wounds that like um we're we're meant to be quiet or you know, meant to be small. And that's definitely something that is coming up for me of like, am I ready for this bigness? Am I ready for this expansion? You know, that I know I want to expand into and I want to be that next level, but it's definitely the fear coming up and like maybe a little bit of imposture syndrome for sure as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, definitely. Well, you know, it's so easy to get into comparison to like I saw saw a real somebody was talking about like healing and like their perspective. And then I was like, well, what did me and Lisa talk about that? Because I know we've already recorded a few episodes, and then it's like, you know, we get in this head and then we start like thinking, and then we're like, oh my gosh, well, what if I did say something wrong? And like the whole point is that we're not perfect, and like we probably will say things that are wrong, and we are going to say things that aren't gonna land with you, and we are still lovable, we are still worthy, we are still, you know, all of the things, yeah, and right, it's not either or, it's not like, oh, you are, you know, this and that. It's actually like all of it gets to go combined, and I think our brain likes to really compartment compartmentalize. And it can be easy for us to get caught in that loop. And I know for me, a lot of the fear that's coming up is like, okay, we committed a lot of time for this. We're committing to meeting weekly, and both of us have really full lives, and there's a lot happening. And so it's like, okay, not only am I starting to share so much more of what's on my heart and my journey and everything that I've been through on such a worldwide platform, we're also putting in a lot of time and we're really dedicating a lot to it. So then it's like this other piece of like, okay, now we're committed, it's out into the world. Like, we are people that follow through on what we say we're going to do. And so I know that this is gonna be a big commitment in time and in you know, following through on like what we're saying and commitment to our followers and our listeners and showing up, and even when things are hard, we will continue to show up here. And I think that's also because it's like, wait, we said real talk, real healing. Like, wait, why? Yeah, seriously.
SPEAKER_01And I think it's like coming back to also the point of like we've had this in the making for quite a few years. And I think also we both have experienced, you know, like manifestations, like this is a manifestation becoming real. And it's like just like anything else, like our coaching businesses and and our other modalities that we've experienced, like we had to go through it and to basically have the wounds and the things come up for us to heal through in order to be the people that we are ready to receive it, right? So, like this, we've done all the things in order to allow this to be our reality right now, which is so crazy to think of. And I think it's like, you know, the things that are gonna be coming up that are going to unfold as we launch and as we have the next couple weeks, especially the first month of it, we're like, oh my God, what are we doing? Like, you know, are things happening? Like, are people listening and we might be getting feedback? And it's like, oh, okay, like we're gonna be feeling these things. So even though like I may not be feeling a ton right now, obviously we're gonna feel the excitement and the anxiety and all the things, but more is gonna unfold because it's like you're asking for it. So now we have to see, you know, it's that mirror, right? Like, okay, what's coming up? And what do we need to look into the mirror about, like to to help us heal through so that way we are ready to hold this space. We are ready to keep going and and and honor this commitment. And because we know it we're gonna help people, and that at the end of the day is is our biggest intention and our biggest reminder of why we are doing these uh real talk, real healing conversations, because it is the truth, it is to know that someone else is on the other side, to know that you're not alone, right?
SPEAKER_00And we are doing this with you, and you know, as somebody who is in a position of like a mentor or a coach or a leader, right? We're showing up in our power. There's this thing the ego likes to do to be like, well, you should have it all figured out and you should have it all done, and you should be the things. And then so it's like, and also we are human and we are doing the thing. And I think sometimes we have this perception of like a coach or a mentor that they're supposed to have it all figured out and all together. And I truly don't believe that. Like, if somebody says that they don't get triggered anymore at all, ever, like they're either like a monk or living in the mountains where they're one with the nature and the animals, right? Like we're humans, and even though we've done a lot of healing, and this is kind of one of the episodes that we're gonna do, is like the conundrum of like we're we're healing and we're always healing, but we're not needing to always heal. Like, it's just this weird thing of like, yes, where where does it begin, where does it end? And it's almost like it does and it doesn't. And I I'm really wanting to contemplate more on that of like what is my true belief because I'm done so much healing, and we get to like sit back and like relax in that. Um, but then also there's this part of us that's like, well, I just got triggered and we gotta look into that. And so yeah, so for us coming into this platform and being vulnerable and not having to put ourselves like on this almost like pedestal that I think that some you know people do, and really just being vulnerable is like a whole another step of like what we're bringing to the healing community because that's where I feel like there's so much misinformation and miscommunication and and people projecting like all like I think something really big in the healing community, or let's say the business coaching is like I just got my client to make $50,000. I just made $100,000 in one month, right? Like there's a lot of boastful things that happened. And for me, the authenticity is, and that's one of the things we came together is like, let's be authentic, which means being roll and roll, which means having to show up and share the shit.
SPEAKER_01Right, right, exactly. I I feel I definitely this obviously is is huge for me right now, too, which you guys will find out from one of the episodes that I mean and Desi recorded something that was super real and and authentic and very vulnerable for me to share because of a personal experience that I'm going through. And that's exactly what this podcast is about. It's about literally having these conversations because me and Desi are lucky enough that we can lean on each other when we are having these real wounds coming up in real time and we get to support each other. And even though we are technically quote unquote coaches, we are still humans and having the same experience as other people, whether it's a big wound or a big grief cycle like I've been experiencing, or it could be something little as like you just get triggered by someone cutting you off in traffic, or it could be like, you know, your partner does something and you're like, oh my God, that you take it on as your own meaning and you it's just because of past experiences. And we are here to remind you that it's just a part of life, and you know, and it's it's you get to choose to heal it, or you get to choose to work with yourself and your own energy for it. Um and it just the lens that you look look through of life. And I do believe exactly what you're saying, like the episode that we are going to be working on. I had this thought earlier this week where I I had to just cry it out. It was just a moment where I was like, I don't know, I just had to cry it out, going through my luteal phase. And it was just like, oh my God, what am I doing? Like, why do I keep spiraling and and going through these negative loops? And I'm like, I know better. Like I have the tools, and it's like I just get to sit with it for this moment. And I just cried for a few minutes and then I was like, that felt better. Like it was just like I don't have to do anything. Like sometimes, like it's like we have all the freaking tools, but you don't have to do anything with them sometimes. Sometimes you just sit with it. I was just I've been sitting outside like on the porch, just like watching the sunset, and I'm like, wow, this is so much so healing, and I don't have to do anything. Like the moments of that, it's like realizing like you get to, you know, wherever you're at, it doesn't matter. It's just allowing yourself to have that experience, whether you do need a tool or you don't. I think we're I'm just excited for us to keep sharing these things because it's it's really good reminders for ourselves and other people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and I think the fear piece, right? Because as you're building a business and it, if you're an entrepreneur and you're listening, or if you're trying to do anything that is out of the box or out of the ordinary from the soul so norm, there is so much that you work through. There is so much newness. You're like literally doing something new every single day, and you don't have anybody leading you, you're leading yourself. I really sometimes I'm just like, why did I decide to do that? Like, yeah, I'm gonna be a coach, I'm gonna help other people, and I'm gonna be a healer, and I'm gonna you know bring breath work and bring all this medicine to the world. And little did you know that you also have to do sales copy and marketing and pages for your websites and sales lens, all these different things. And you're just like, oh, I didn't realize it came with all this other caveats in order to be a successful business. And they're like, well, the mission is a mission, so we're going and we're doing it. And some of it is like you're just like troubleshooting all day long, trying to figure out how to get this one thing done, and you're just like, ah, I can't wait till I can pay somebody to do all the things that yeah, I'm not a genius in. Like, I'm the genius in like helping people and healing and working through things, and so it's just a whole new world. This whole podcast thing is new to us. We have like so new, no idea what we're doing, but we're learning and we're asking, you know, people that have come before us and we're doing the research, and we have talked about this, like Lisa said, for years, and I was always like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, we'll do that one day. And the days finally come, and we're just like, oh wow, this is something that's been brewing in the background literally for so long. And I think we were just really too nervous and maybe not didn't have some of the time, but I think it was really just more and more over the years coming more and more into our power, and like now it's like, okay, I feel like I know enough and I've been through enough and we've healed enough, and let's put it out there in the world.
SPEAKER_01Right. And I think at the end of the day, it is about the intention. Like we're just like, what what do we want to create and why do we want to create it? And then it was just like working backwards from that too, because it's like, you know, like uh something that I heard recently too from a mentor call, like it was like the people like fail, you know, businesses or whatever they're doing because they're inconsistent. And it's okay if you're inconsistent, but the thing is, or if you um sorry, it's not you want to be consistent, but you are allowed to have bad days. You're allowed to fall off. You're allowed, like, you know, one day is not going to screw you screw up and call and like you become a fairly that one day, or even a week, right? Like literally going through a grief cycle. Going through a group cycle, like allow yourself to like heal and allow yourself to to to feel the feelings because I'm so grateful that I do have a job currently that like allows me that space that I can check in, they can take over, like you know, it's just like anything. Like you get to be a human in this experience and in this life. And the biggest thing is too, is that what she said that like really resonated with with me, my partners, especially right now, is that it's recommitment. And that's exactly what me and Desi are starting into because like stepping into with this podcast. It's so new to us. And we have to keep reminding each other of recommitment. And I'm so grateful that Desi has been helping me and supporting and doing some more of the back end stuff for us right now for this podcast, because you know, like, and she's helping me like recommit, like, oh yeah, like now I get to step in and I get to help, and I'm gonna recommit every day for this or every week, whatever like this time allows. And it's it's something that we you do have to come back to the intention. You have to come back to our hearts of like why we're doing this, and this vulnerability is not easy, and this honesty and all these fears that are coming up, but we know there's a bigger reason, and I think that's like our biggest recommitment, like reminder for this podcast.
SPEAKER_00Well, I appreciate the gratitude. And I was just having this conversation with another gal today that I was having coffee with, and we're like new friends, and I see like so much potential in her, right? And that's why I've been like helping her, and then she was like, Thank you so much for like seeing me. And I was like, we all can use a hype girl, okay? Like everybody go out there, get a hype girl, get somebody who's gonna see the highest best version of yourself, and like hype the shit out of each other. Like that's it, right? Like at the end of the day, like we're doing this, even if you're you know going to a job or you're a mom or whatever, like get another mob that's gonna hype you up. Like we really do need that, and we have so much potential with women as women, but we get stuck in in the life, in the wife, in the mom, in the things, right? And it's like actually, what's true to my heart, right? Like, actually, I have so much potential to create so much in this world. Yeah. And so when we have those little like caveats of people and like really being able to do that uh with our friends or whatever and have that, it really does set the tone apart from just having an average life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Oh my God. Yeah. For the at the when you just said that, the average life, like that's part of who we are, and that's why we've connected because we're like, even though it's so scary to be an entrepreneur and have your own business and be a healer, and it's like, why did I ask for this again? But it's like we come back to each other and like, no, you you have a gift. That's why you're here. Like, that's why we're here. Like, we mirror each other so much so often when we do have our self-doubt. And then like, that's why this podcast is here. It's like, yeah, no, we have something to share. We have a big gift, and like as much as other people, you know, might make us doubt ourselves sometimes, you know, it's gonna happen, like, you know, or like the imposter stuff will will definitely happen. Even posting just generally, like, even posting like to your personal profile. I mean, like, you know, I I don't know, just your life stuff. And you're just like, does anyone, does anyone even care? Like, it's like, you know, the funny things of just like I'm gonna post anyway. But then I happened to just see um this post right before like this, actually. And it was like someone, this girl posted, and she literally said, Don't be afraid to post your business and talk about your business because some people, and this may rub people the wrong way, but um, this is the real talk of like, you know, reminders of us to uh keep going is some people actually post and that they're drinking every weekend and like they're proud of it, you know, like or that that's just what they do and that's their life cycle, which good for them. I mean, hopefully, you know, they figure it out and they and they are living for something else than that, but like that's not our truth. And it's like don't be afraid.
SPEAKER_00It was at one point though.
SPEAKER_01100%, 100%. And I'm not even like I'm not saying it just because like we're like, no, don't ever want to do that. We definitely, you know, I do that sometimes, you know, and we all do that cycle, but it's a it's a reminder, it's the recommitment again. It's like, what is your truth? What is your what are you honoring this week? What are you honoring? What are you coming back to? What is your intention? What do you want in your freaking life? Like, right, you know, are those things are aligning with like why are your choices aligning with what you desire every day?
SPEAKER_00Right. Yeah. Oh, so good. Um, I know we were gonna keep this one short. Did you look at what time we started?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, we're at 16 minutes or okay a little bit over the that, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, 16 minutes. So I wanted to kind of just go back is like, what do you think? I'll ask you a question, a spitfire. What do you think the like biggest hesitation you may have about like putting all this out there in the world? Hmm. If there's one, or like fear.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. I think it is a little bit of judgment because it's like I'm sure family and other friends might tune in, and then it's like I think that's the part. It's like, ooh, you know, that some of the parts they might they might be hearing for the first time ever that I'm sharing, yeah. Um, or they might not know some of these thoughts that I have or stories, or they might be in them, or they might feel like they might be I might be talking about them, and you know, that part for sure. Okay. Scary. Yeah, definitely. How about you? What are you feeling?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that would definitely be one of them because this is more of a every I've I've been telling people, right, that we're doing this like podcast, everybody gets so excited that they're like, oh my gosh, a podcast. Like there people get really excited. I'm like, oh, okay, this is fun. This is like, yeah, you know, we're getting some clout around here. We're starting a podcast, right? I think I texted you that one day. Yeah. People are really excited, which means more people are gonna listen, which means more people are gonna tune in, which means it's something that is going to be um a wider range of audience, which we are putting ourselves out there. And yeah, I thought about like the family and stuff too. Um, and I think it's gonna be interesting to see like everything that comes out, right? Like, yeah, I've told a lot of my story on my Instagram before, but I've only told a small portion of my story. Right. Um, because a lot of my other stories, like they do involve other people, right? And so yeah, it's gonna be interesting to see how all that plays out. And I think my other like biggest fear is really just the vulnerability piece.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Because I feel like we're gonna get pretty vulnerable on the news.
SPEAKER_01I think so too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, I think both of us have such a like we align a lot on our goals and our values and our mission and who we are and how we show up, and that's why we're here creating a podcast and we're sharing and and also we bring so much different things to the table. But for both of us, it's like that all authenticity, authenticity, raw, real truth. And so many people hide. And I think, especially in this community of like healing and and coaching and stuff, there's a lot of people that don't actually share that truth. And so I know that it's gonna be interesting to see how this all transpires, which is so exciting and also terrifying, terrifying for sure. That's exactly what came to mind too.
SPEAKER_01I yeah, it's gonna be a ride. It's gonna be a ride, I think, launching this and like seeing what happens and seeing what unfolds, but trusting, just trusting and having faith of like, okay, I think you know, it's it's it is gonna put us in the spotlight of like here it is, putting it all on the plate in the platter, like for anyone to consume.
SPEAKER_00Well, the mission has to stay bigger than the fears and the haters and the people that are gonna judge. Like the mission is the mission, and our people are our people. So it's I know we've been working, that's been something we've been saying for a really long time because like I was saying earlier, like how many times have we wanted to quit this and be like, forget it, I'm done, I can't do it, I'm throwing it in the towel. So many times, right? But then we come back to the mission. And for those who are listening, I'm not sure when we're gonna exactly air this, but we are about 14, 12 to 14 days away from our release party, which is really exciting. So, so we're in the planning stages, and um, yeah, so that's kind of where we're at on the timeline for and we're like mid-Apr, yeah, mid-April right now. So it's happening. The countdown is on. It is on, it is on. So, did you have any uh takeaways for this episode that you wanted to maybe reiterate or share? Putting you on the spot over here.
SPEAKER_01I think the biggest thing and the biggest uh uh intention and mission of our podcast is to keep feeling whatever is coming up and just being honest. Like we have to just keep being super honest of what we're feeling and feel through it. Otherwise, we're just gonna allow these fears to overtake and we won't keep recommitting and we'll like be like, let's just put it off and let's da da da da. Like, I think the biggest thing, no matter what you're going through, you can definitely relate to this. Like, whatever edge and whatever big thing that you're stepping into, whether it's promotion, whether it's a new I think we just keep working with it.
SPEAKER_00And we just love you guys so much.
SPEAKER_01Yep.
SPEAKER_00See you next time.
