Welcome to the Happy Go Lifestyle Podcast. I'm your host, Sarah Faruz, and this is my very first episode. I am so excited to be here. And I decided that I would start with my story of how I got here and how I started this podcast and how I changed careers. As many of you may know, I was in residential real estate for about 18 years on and off. And towards the end of that time, I started getting a feeling that I wasn't living in alignment with what I was meant to be doing, that I wasn't fulfilling my purpose. There were parts of the job that I loved, but I felt like there was something more for me. And I felt like there was more in store for me career-wise. I started getting these feelings for quite some time. And I ignored the feelings for a really long time. I pushed them aside. I didn't want to face them. It felt like a very daunting process to change careers at 43. And I didn't feel like starting all over. I didn't feel like doing the work and figuring out what I would do. And I just couldn't deal with it. So I just pushed it aside. But the feelings kept coming back. And what those feelings were were my intuition. My intuition was speaking to me and has been speaking to me for a long time. So when I look back at my journal entries and when I look back at my notes, I have found that I have been wanting to start a podcast or some form of a platform for women for about 10 years now. It's crazy when I went back at my notes and I looked at the date and I saw that I had notes about how to start a podcast and I had topics that I wanted to discuss. And I always loved watching the Oprah show and the View and any platform that really dug deep with people and got into their minds and really just storytelling and inspiring women. I've always loved watching those shows, and it's something that I felt like I needed to do, but I it just seemed like such a far-fetched dream and not a reality. But my intuition knew better than me and it kept coming up and I kept getting these little nudges until finally I started listening to the little nudges. I was open to receiving the feelings, and I started journaling more and I started reading a lot of books and discovering that there was validity to these feelings and that I needed to honor and really take a deeper, closer look. You know, intuition is something that we're given at a very young age. You know that when you were a kid, your intuition was there. It might have been a muscle that wasn't strengthened, but it was there. And as we become adults, the intuition and the signs become stronger. But I think the first step is being open to receiving the signs, listening to your mind, listening to your body, because nothing just happens out of nowhere. Think about it. When you get a diagnosis for something, there's a lot of signs before you get that final diagnosis. Or when you ultimately break up with someone, there's so many red flags and there's so many signs prior to the breakup point. So the little signs are always there. And those little intuitions, that that feeling that you have inside that something doesn't feel right, that you feel inauthentic to yourself, you feel misaligned. And it's important to listen to those feelings. And it's something that I really try to ingrain in my daughters and teach them to listen to that gut feeling because our subconscious knows best. So that's what led me here to start this podcast and this journey of shifting careers, starting this new path that I never could have imagined, but quite honestly was always there and ingrained, but I just chose to ignore it. But here I am. So my message to you is to always trust your intuition. If you're ever unsure about a decision that you need to make, or if you're in a situation that you just feel stuck, take the time to really look inward because the answers are always inward and your intuition will guide you. My intuition has always been my North Star and it has always guided me to where I need to be. So the message for today is to listen to the little pings that keep coming up, but don't push them away. Think about what action you need to take in order to become more aligned with your authentic self and listen to your intuition and most importantly, trust your intuition because it knows best. Thanks for listening.
