Full Body Release 🌸

Unwinding isn't just about letting your muscles soften. Sometimes it's about letting go of the beliefs that have quietly convinced you that rest isn't safe, or unproductive, or that you don't deserve it.

In this gentle hypnosis, you'll travel through each area of your body, releasing physical tension while also exploring the unconscious patterns that can keep us holding on. Together, we'll soften hypervigilance, perfectionism, inherited beliefs about productivity, and the feeling that we always need to stay "on."

As your awareness moves slowly from your toes to your mind, you'll discover that relaxation isn't something you force—it is something you allow. Little by little, your body remembers what it has always known: how to rest.

Whether you're listening before sleep, during a quiet afternoon, or anytime you need to reconnect with yourself, this episode offers a peaceful invitation to release what no longer serves you and return to your natural state of ease.

This Unwind includes: Full body relaxation, guided hypnosis, nervous system regulation, somatic relaxation, anxiety relief, hypervigilance recovery, releasing unconscious beliefs, healing productivity guilt, perfectionism recovery, parasympathetic activation, bilateral awareness, body scan meditation, inner child healing, self-compassion, and progressive relaxation to help you unwind completely.

Hi everyone, this is Jessica, and welcome to your Deep Unwind, a podcast where we come back to our bodies, explore relaxation, and ask ourselves, what do we find when we unwind? Thank you all for being here. I really, really appreciate it. If you are enjoying this show, if it's helping you in any way, please let me know. But also spread the word, if you don't mind. I'm starting from scratch, kind of, and I need to grow this world. So I'd really, really appreciate your help with that. Thank you. Okay, tonight. Full body release. Hmm. Who doesn't want to feel deep, complete relaxation? I do. And yet it can be kind of challenging for many of us. It's not just because massages can be expensive, or there are only so many vacation days per year. And I think, after doing this work for a while, that one of the reasons we don't let go is because we have belief systems or fears that get in the way. I think some of these belief systems are if other people are not relaxed, I'm not allowed to relax. Or that I don't deserve to relax. That's a classic. Or that if I relax, something important's gonna happen and I'm not gonna be able to deal with it. Or if I let go, I become vulnerable. And a really common one, I need to be on alert to get my life done, to move forward. So in this episode, I'm going to address these belief systems. And by addressing them, you will let them go. So you can really release into relaxation, which is your birthright. And one last thing. I want to say this now as Unwind just get started, but I will say it again. Relaxation needs to be practiced, like anything else. Your subconscious mind didn't tie your shoes perfectly the first time, or speak French. You showed up, your subconscious mind showed up again and again in the activity, and the improvement simply occurred, sort of below the level of thinking. And it's the same with letting go, it's the same with unwinding. As you show up here and unwind, you'll find that letting go is becoming easier and easier, and that you go deeper and deeper over time. Yes, there are times in life where we have some pressure and it can be more difficult to go deep, but in general, over the long haul, you will get better and better at this. I promise. So let's get cozy and comfy and let's unwind. Just let your eyes close softly and gently as you feel yourself settle in to your inner world. And you bring your awareness to your breath. That lovely natural wave of your breath. And just being with this wave is helping you to sync with all sorts of rhythms inside your body. Good. Now I invite you to bring your awareness into your eyes, up into your eyelids, as they become soft and heavy, and you let them rest. And as your eyelids are resting, all of the muscles around your eyes are softening and relaxing. And your eyelids are feeling heavy. Like they cannot open. Of course, logic tells us that you can open your eyes. But I want you to imagine that you can't and play this little game with me. Allowing your eyelids to feel very heavy. Now lift your eyebrows while your eyes remain closed. And pretending is winning as you align with your own imagination. And even this little game is taking you deeper and deeper into relaxation. Good. As your head becomes very, very heavy on the pillow or wherever it's resting. As your head is becoming heavy, the muscles of your face are softening, relaxing. And now I'd like you to imagine that inside your head, in your skull, is a big ball of yarn. And now imagine that one end of this ball of yarn is coming out a little hole in your forehead. And now imagine that you are pulling gently on the yarn. And as you're pulling on the yarn, it is unwinding and unwinding. Oh, it feels good to let it unwind. And now the ball of yarn is becoming smaller and smaller. And now it's unwinding completely as you see the other end of the ball of yarn coming out that hole. And your mind feels nice and clear, relaxed, peaceful. So tonight we're going to begin down at your toes. Bring your awareness down to your left big toe. And it's somewhat easy to bring your awareness to a particular place in your body. So just let your awareness hang out for a moment in your left big toe. Just being down there. Just sensing down there. Good. And now I'd like you to shift your awareness into your right big toe. Just hang out here. Being in your big toe. So not only is it relatively easy to move your mind into a specific point in your body. To another point. Now I'd like you to soften your focus a little and allow your awareness to be in both of your toes at the same time. You can do it. Just relax and let it happen. It's a cool trick of the brain called bilateral awareness. Both hemispheres of your brain are engaged right now as you simply feel both of your toes at the same time.

Good.

SPEAKER_03

Bring your awareness to the soles of your feet. And just be in the soles of your feet, sensing them together.

SPEAKER_02

Don't you think?

SPEAKER_03

Feet are meant to be used in our lives to move us around, to keep us upright, to keep us safe and balanced on the planet. But because they do so much work, they need to rest. Your feet deserve this break. Don't you agree? I'm assuming that you don't have any belief systems about your feet not deserving a rest. But if you do, those belief systems are dissolving. Good. As this lovely restful feeling, this heaviness is moving up your legs. Taking their rest, taking their well-deserved break, experiencing their deep, deep relaxation. As your awareness moves up now into your belly, around your pelvis, we're going to hang out here for a moment. This part of your body can hold very deep, unconscious energy. It even connects with your ancestors. Perhaps you picked up belief systems in your family about resting or relaxing. That resting is lazy. Perhaps one of your parents felt anxious or never let go, never rested. Maybe previous generations of your family had to be on alert for various reasons that don't pertain to your life today, but you picked up this programming in your body. So as you go deeper and deeper, allow your pelvis to release the muscles of your belly to let go. Anything you're carrying here, any influences from the past, any belief systems, modeling from your caregivers, it's all letting go, dissolving, dissolving as you go deeper and even deeper as your awareness moves up a little further into your abdomen. Just below your belly button. Perhaps you've experienced vulnerability in your life, not always feeling safe in the world that can cause tension in the lower body, a kind of vigilance holding this is the part of your body that scans your environment. So just check in and scan. Are you in a safe room? In a safe home, can you feel safe here? If the answer is yes, this part of your body is letting go. Just for the next little while. You can pick up your defenses later if you need them.

SPEAKER_02

Good.

SPEAKER_03

That place where your ribs come together in the center of your body. Your solar plexus. This is a part of you that helps you steer through your life. And you may hold tension here. Perhaps you feel you need to be on alert because you're achieving things, moving forward in the world. Maybe you feel that letting go of the energy here is irresponsible. Or lazy, or that you will let others down. This part of your body may be resistant to resting, feeling that rest runs counter to its goals. But some of the most successful people in the world from the past and the present knew the wisdom of rest and even took daily naps. Aristotle, Leonardo da Vinci, Albert Einstein all made rest part of their work, and even today, Mark Cuban, Roger Federer, LeBron James all let themselves rest every day deeply. So any resistance you may have to relaxing in this area of your body because you think it's ineffective or will curb your forward motion is dissolving as you go deeper and deeper, and the sound of my voice is taking you deeper as your awareness moves up into your heart now. Telling you that you don't deserve to feel good, that you don't deserve to take care of yourself. Maybe somewhere along the way, you got the message that you need to hold yourself back for others. So as you go deeper and deeper into relaxation, I want you to imagine a little you before you received any of those messages. Maybe you're a kid or a toddler or even a baby.

SPEAKER_01

Imagine that little you and hold that little you and let them rest as you whisper to this inner child, it's okay to rest.

SPEAKER_03

Perhaps you carry tension here because you feel you must express yourself in certain ways. Maybe you feel a responsibility to the world to fix things and do things and say the right thing. So any resistance you may have to resting that you carry in your throat area is dissolving as you go deeper and deeper as your awareness moves up now into your brain. Who brought us here to this point in time? They warped the land, grew food, built shelter, they created schools, and statues and fountains. Over time, they wrote laws and created civilizations, and they did it all using the screens of their own minds and one another. Like we are today. So as you become willing, even for a moment, to allow this alertness to soften just a bit.

SPEAKER_01

Just suspend it for a moment.

SPEAKER_03

As you imagine a cool wave of water rolling into your brain, soothing your mind, cool, cool waves crashing up against the beach of your mind, cooling it down, cooling it down as you drift deeper and deeper, soothing your brain, cooling your brain as your head feels even heavier, sinking, settling heavy and comfortable as you unwind and unwind. Any resistance you've ever had to letting go disappeared as you relax and simply before.
