The True Cost of a Scarcity Mindset
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
You might feel like you’re waiting for the “right time” to act. Fear keeps more business owners stuck than almost anything else, and in this episode we unpack how to move past it. We talk about the difference between making business decisions from a scarcity mindset versus a confidence mindset, why what’s unknown is often the upside, not the downside, and how the biggest breakthroughs in business come from choosing growth when it feels uncomfortable. If there’s one thing you take away from today’s episode it’s this: stop waiting until you feel “ready”. The time to get out of your comfort zone is right now.
Highlights:
2:13 - How a scarcity mindset quietly limits business growth every single day.
06:26 - How fear focuses on the measurable downside, while confidence embraces the unpredictable upside.
10:40 - The difference between someone who’s choosing growth vs. someone who’s making decisions out of desperation.
13:40 - Why most business owners stop faking it before they actually make it.
16:17 - Getting over your brain’s need for safety: why levelling up demands discomfort.
18:18 - How shortcutting your own closet just to save money is actually costing you.
22:00 - Why most custom clothiers are too desperate to set order minimums.
24:20 - The story of how we invested in our first showroom before it felt like the “perfect” time.
30:33 - Why spending money in your business is an investment, not just an expense.
36:05 - How the life and business you want gets created one decision at a time.

And we got that DM from somebody who's like, Well, what if this doesn't work for me? It's like, if it doesn't work for you, you're out 800 bucks. That's what happens. That's the worst case scenario if it doesn't work for you. If it does, or if it could, that's the unknown thing. And if you're not confident in your in yourself enough to spend that to see what can happen, then you have much bigger fish to fry than the $800. This is appointment only, the podcast for custom clothiers and entrepreneurs building profitable high-end businesses. We're Kenny and Danny, twin brothers from day one and business partners for more than 15 years. We're sharing insights from our own experiences as luxury custom clothiers who built our own business from nothing. The highs, the lows, and what we've learned along the way that will help you build a high-end business you actually enjoy running and isn't running you. Clothier Coaching's official podcast. Appointment only starts now. As we've been thinking about this episode, this topic, I told Danny, I don't even want to, I don't even want to do this if we can't if we can't make it feel not like church. Not like a sermon. I don't want you to preach and I don't want you to yell. I don't want, I don't want those of you listening to feel badly. It's one of those topics that we get fired up about. And then yeah, I know how I know how it is. When I get fired up, it sounds like I'm yelling and it feels like I'm belittling. I don't want to do that. I really don't want to do that. So please just let that be sort of your blanket uh asterisk and heads up. We're gonna do the topic. We're gonna talk about fear, but we're not gonna be yelling. And I I'm telling that to myself, and I'm also telling that to speak for yourself. As host number one, this is host number one's not gonna yell, but host number one's not gonna yell. He's chill. Host number one is so chill, and you'll see. So we're talking about fear as it is related to decision making, as it's related to business, and we're talking about it in terms of like the mindset, the poverty mindset. We've talked about this before. Uh, poverty mindset, also known as uh scarcity mindset versus versus abundance. Right. And you've thought of these things before, you've heard us talk about it before. It's really, it's really kind of the mindset thing about where is your where's your head at as you're operating your business? Are you making these decisions from a place of poverty, scarcity, fear, or are you making these decisions based on a place of abundance, whether or not you feel like you are actually living in it? Right. The abundance mindset, or as it directly is related to the fear mindset, perhaps it could be called the confidence mindset. I like that. The fear mindset. Because that's really the abundance. Because that's really what it is, is it's confidence in what you're doing and it's a willingness to keep your head down and to keep plugging away. And this is important whether you're doing a custom clothing business or any other kind of business. This mindset is critical to success, being able to put your head down and focus and drown out the noise and do what you know you've got to do to get it done in the way you want to get it done. The book Someone Has to Be the Most Expensive, why not make it you? But if you're gonna be the most expensive, you have to also be the best. That book is written by Andy Griffiths, and you can download it to listen to it on Audible. It's my favorite, or you can read it with your eyes. Or you can read it with your eyes. It's my favorite business book that I've ever read or listened to. And I've listened to a lot of business books, and I've read a couple. Um, but he talks a lot about this idea of the poverty mindset and the abundance mindset and how how important it is to live in the abundance mindset. And most people, most people, whether they're business owners or not, live in the poverty mindset, live in the fear mindset, in the way that they make decisions or in the way that they don't make decisions. And their question to themselves is what happens if this you fill in the blank, whatever it is, doesn't work, right? That's what prevents people from making decisions that they should make. And it's also what puts people in a situation where they make the wrong decisions. It I think it boils down to just kind of a fear of the unknown. It's a fear of the unknown. Well, what if this doesn't work, right? What if it doesn't work? And most people operate this way. Most people are not business owners. We know this. You know this. And it's not because most people have never had an idea, or most people are doing exactly what they want to do for the rest of their life. It's because most people won't decide to live in the, but what happens if it does work? Or I'm confident in enough in myself where I'm willing to do the thing that feels unknown to make this work. And I'm not saying that everybody wants to be an entrepreneur. I know that that's not the case. That there are people out there who do not want to run their own business. And I get that. But there are also people out there who work W-2 jobs and would give anything to run their own business. The thing is, they wouldn't give everything. They wouldn't give the stability, they wouldn't give the comfort, they wouldn't give the life that they had to run their own business because they're too stuck in fear. They're too stuck in the what if it doesn't work. And we as custom clothiers do this too. Most custom clothiers look at things and they operate from a, but what if it doesn't work? And so then they revert to the thing that they've always done or the thing that they know. And I just want to break that down. So what if it doesn't work? And you fill in you fill in the blanks of whatever it is, whether it's uh an investment in your business with like a marketing opportunity or uh a new a new location or hiring a new person or whatever. I you know, I whatever's going on. What if it doesn't work, right? Let's think about that. Well, if it doesn't work, then it doesn't work. Are you out of business? Probably not. You're right back where you are right now. But you have a little more information. Yeah. That's the worst case scenario. Is if it doesn't work, then you're just not, you haven't moved forward in the way you were hoping you would. But the the true unknown is, well, what if it does work? You don't we don't have a concept of what could happen. You you can't predict what's possible when we've made certain decisions over the years, and but they haven't all been good, by the way. It's not like we've never had a miss. It's not like every marketing opportunity we we've ever attempted worked, or every uh hire we ever made was a knockout, or every, you know, every location we ever moved into had no negatives. No, of course not. We've had plenty of misses as well. But we also never would have been able to actually predict what making some of these tough decisions in a time that didn't feel, you know, like it was a perfect time, but it was the time that we were presented with. Never could have imagined what was possible on the other side. And and that's that's the thing about this fear mentality or the the poverty mindset is everyone always acts like there are so many unknowns. And I think the only real unknown is the upside. We know the downside. It's just like our, it's just like the the coaching stuff that we offer, right? Where you know, when we when we launched Million Dollar Manual, for example, and we got that that DM from somebody who's like, well, what if this doesn't work for me? It's like, if it doesn't work for you, you're out 800 bucks. That's what happens. That's the worst case scenario if it doesn't work for you. If it does, or if it could, that's the unknown thing. And if you're not confident in your in yourself enough to spend that to see what can happen, then you have much bigger fish to fry than the $800. And uh of course. And the as we're talking about, you know, what's good, what's on the other side of the fear and what's possible versus what happens if you don't decide that you want to operate with the abundance or the confidence, it's also important to just keep in mind the reality of the implications. It's we've told the story before, but when we used to belong to that networking group, B and I, I remember the scare tactic was our group was starting to fold. Our group was starting to fall apart. People were realizing, oh, I don't think I want to drive all the way out here every single week and make no more money and have the same shallow surfacey conversations with the same people who aren't generating me any leads or any any revenue. And everyone was starting to get smart to this and people were starting to drop off. And they had the the regional president, or I don't remember even what she was, but she came in and she sort of tried to put the fear of God into us. And she said, you know what happens is when people are in BI and their business is booming, and they say, I'm too busy for this, I can't commit to this, they leave B and I, their business dries up, dries the bone, dries the Sahara Desert. And you know what I can confidently say to you, Sarah, is you were wrong. Uh we left and we actually got our time back and our Tuesday mornings back, and we're good. It's been fine. But we're not here to say if you don't make that decision you've been putting off, you're out of business. Your business is dry. No, you know what happens if you don't do it. If you don't do it, you have the business you have. And that's what propels. I really think that's kind of the difference between someone who's growing and someone who's bound to be extremely successful, is they're identifying shifts and changes they want in their business and they're making them not out of desperation. They're they're at a place that feels really good. And they're feeling like, yeah, things are going well. I like how things are going. Am I running the absolute dream? Is this as big as I ever want to be? No. But I'm feeling pretty good. If this repeated for a couple years, I'd be fine. So now I'm gonna make some changes. That's, I think, what people don't do. And it's a challenge for us to do it too, because I like to be comfortable. I don't like change. I have a really difficult time with it actually. And when our business is going well and I feel good about the schedule and I feel fine about what I have in the calendar, and I feel like we're, you know, things are pretty plug and play. That's the time where you really want to start being intentional about making certain changes and tweaks because you don't want to be in the position where you're needing to make changes out of reactions and you're desperate for things to work. It's so much easier, better, and more manageable to be in control of the things that you're changing and the implementation of positive things you're seeking. And back to the fear place, though. That's that's different to say. I was gonna say that's easy to say, but I hate it when people say, well, easy for you to say. It's different to say when you have operated from a place of confidence or abundance, decision after decision after decision, and you're in a place of relative comfort in your business. So you have what feels like a luxury of making decisions from a place of satisfaction, but it's from operating from a place of discomfort and refusing to give into the fear or the poverty mindset in the way that we've made decisions. A perfect example of this, a custom clothing specific example of this. Let's just spend a little time and think of examples and not pat ourselves on the back examples, because we we for years operated from a place of scarcity. And it's still something that both of our brains are naturally wired to do. It's still a struggle and it still requires like a manual reset on our mindset sometimes. We're tempted to fall into the scarcity mindset. We're tempted to somebody comes to us and our website says give us more than eight weeks. Someone comes to us with an with a six-week deadline, needs a suit done, our calendar doesn't feel particularly strong. We're tempted to say yes to that too. So we have to train ourselves and remind ourselves that we are not operating from scarcity. We are operating from abundance, we are operating from confidence. So you can fall in line with our rush order policies that we have, or you can work with somebody else who is operating in scarcity. So yeah, there's plenty of those. There's plenty of those. Plenty of those. There will always be plenty of those. And that's one of the things that as a custom clothing business, if you want to be different than other places in your market, start operating like you're the best. Even if it feels like you aren't, or it feels like you're not the top dog, or it feels like you're not the high-end luxury version of what you would what you wish you were, start operating like you are. Start operating like your calendar's full. Start operating that way. And that that term fake it till you make it, start doing that. I think fake it till you make it is something that everybody says. And they they stop after the first half. Yeah, fake it. But it's like, you know, somebody's back in the gym, right? And selfie, fake it till you make it. It's a joke because they've never seen it through. They've never faked it enough where they actually made it. You got you got to take these phrases all the way to the end. Because till you make it is the end result of faking it for two, kind of like the that whole the the customer's always right. Well, that's not the whole phrase. The the rest of it is the customer's always right in matters of taste. So you have to you have to hear the whole phrase in order for it to make actually make sense. And that phrase doesn't mean the customer's always right. It means if the customer comes to you and they want a lime green suit for their wedding or for a party at work, you who are you to say no? That's what they want. Okay, fine. You want to buy that? Great. But the the the term fake it till you make it, we did that. We faked it for years. And then one day, and it wasn't overnight, it was a years-long buildup. Well, and you know what, as you're faking it, it's not, you know, you learn a thing or two along the way. You pick things up, you're gaining experience, you're in your industry, you're working with people. You might feel like you're faking it, you might have an imposter syndrome syndrome that you're struggling with. But the people who are spending their money with you and getting something from your business, they don't see you as a faker. They see you as the real deal. They chose to work with you. So you might feel weird, you might feel like a fake, but you're not. You might not be where you want to be, but that takes time. And that that faking it, that's the uncomfortable part. That's the every decision I'm making, I have two paths. One is fear and one is confidence. One is scarcity and one is abundance. And you're choosing the confidence, you're choosing the abundance every time you reach that fork in the road. That's uncomfortable because our brains naturally want to take the easy way, the easy money way, the guaranteed client way, the many more leads way. That's what our brain wants. But what's best for our business is often the opposite of what our brain is naturally wired to do. It's to put more hurdles in front of somebody who will who needs a rush order suit. Yeah. So what are some other things that custom clothiers specifically are doing? And again, we're not trying to make you feel bad. We used to do these things too. We were just talking about this. We went on a run. We're we're runners now, again, after a long hiatus. Long hiatus, yeah, big time. But we started, you know, going on runs in the morning instead of exclusively walking, and we have a lot of a lot of chat time. Yeah. So we were talking about it too. We were talking about it and we were reminiscing, and we used to do these things too. So I'd please do not feel like we're calling you out or like we're attacking you. We're not. Here's one. But if this is sitting, you know, if it's sitting kind of funny with you, it might be worth exploring. Or if we're talking, we're not talking about a specific scenario or a specific decision. No. But if you're thinking about one as we're talking, yeah, and you're feeling like we're speaking directly to that decision, that's good. You know what you have to do. Sorry, but you do. Because we're not we're not telling this directly to you about this specific situation. We're just having a chat. Well, you we're just between appointments over here. You know, guilty. Yeah. Sue me. Here's one. I let's let's start at basic and then let's just come up with some others. Wearing your cheap clothes, your cheap fabrics. We were there too. When we first started in this business, I had a closet full of JC Penny suits, and I I wanted to build up a closet of custom suits. So of course I'm doing the least expensive stuff I can do so I can do the most of it that I possibly can, right? And there's a time and a place, you know, when you're just, you know, trying to scare up your first clients and your first leads. You're probably not going to be wearing Laurel Piana, but it there comes a time, like specifically when you want to start selling something like Dorme Scabal or a piano. You need to be wearing it. You need to be wearing it. It's like, you know, asking this, this, the waiter at the restaurant, well, what thing's your favorite on the menu? Oh, I've actually never eaten here. You'd be like, what? What are you talking about? What do you mean you've never eaten here? Yeah, I just don't eat here. How weird, right? So think about that. If you want to sell something expensive, you might want to have some experience with wearing something expensive. But I I get where the mind is when you're ordering new clothes and you're looking at the cost of the yardage, how easy it is. Oh, I mean, it's just a blue suit, right? It's just a it's just a it's just a pinstripe. I can do it in this cheap fabric instead of this name brand fabric. Yeah, right away, maybe. But take the road less traveled. Do the more expensive. I mean, I we sold this week, we sold two of the of a Laura Piana jacket that I have, and I did for myself. One of them I was I was wearing it, and the other one I think came in and we showed it to him on it on the hanger, because I wasn't wearing it at the time. Sold it twice. That more than covered the cost. If Danny wouldn't have had that, we wouldn't have, I mean, we would probably would have sold something else from the line, but we wouldn't have sold that one. So that's what happens when when you wear your nice stuff. You can sell the nice stuff and you can speak from experience. A huge part of our job as clothiers is not just selling wedding suits, right? It's about educating people and giving them opportunities and making recommendations and saying, well, if you're liking this, I if you like this and you wear this, this is how this is how we did it. If you like this, it was a green and you're wearing it a lot, and it's your favorite thing. He was wearing it when he came back, then I think you should have another thing that's similar but a little bit different. And, you know, maybe something like this. And we showed him the the jacket Danny did, and he's like, I love that. Let's do it. It was that simple. That was all. We didn't have to sell him, we didn't have to explain. Oh, well, this is Laurel Piana, and it's a mixture of wool and silk and linen. So it's gonna perform great through those hot, sticky summers. It was just like, how about this? And he said, Okay, we had the experience with it, we had it because we did it, and he bought it. I could have easily found something that looked similar to that in a Marzoni or something like that. You could have duped it. You could have duped it, you could have duped it easily. And that I think is an example of operating from a place of poverty where you're constantly trying to shortcut your own closet to save some money for that short-term, what feels like a win in the moment, you're missing out on a bigger win later. Scarcity custom clothiers have a really difficult time as well with order minimums in general, having one at all. So if somebody reaches out, they want to buy a shirt. Okay. They want to buy two shirts, okay. Sweet, two shirts. They want to buy a jacket, okay. Have a little respect, have a have a little confidence. Little confidence, have put a little red tape. Like, what are you afraid of? What you're afraid of is if you say, My order minimum is this, then that client will not book. And it does, it doesn't have to be astronomical. You don't have to say, My order minimum, I've seen that too online, and I don't believe it. My my order minimum is you need to be buying 10 suits from me in order for me. That's not true, but you don't need to do that. But make it a suit, make it a shirt package, do something. It it it should you should have some sort of an order minimum. And a lot of custom clothiers, it's it's surprising to me, are too freaked out to turn anything away that they'll take anything. And don't even get me started or do about your rush order order minimum, which should be higher than your regular order minimum because rush orders require priority. They take precedence precedence over anything else in your calendar and and your production calendar. They're more stress, the client's more stressed for sure, and it requires more of you. So it should cost more for them. Seems like a pretty reasonable trade-off to me. But a lot of custom clothiers are too freaked. Like Danny said, you have something listed on your website and you require eight weeks or whatever for your garment completion. And someone sends you an email and says, Hey, I have six weeks. Can we still do something? A lot of custom clothier would say just straight up yes. Because they're afraid that if they push back even a little bit, that that person isn't gonna book and is gonna go somewhere else. Do you think the best, busiest clothier in your market says yes to everybody who asks to work with them? I can tell you right now they say they don't. I can say I can tell you right now that they don't. They don't. Start operating that way. The road less traveled, the confidence, the abundance. It's better on the other side than the scarcity, the poverty, the fear. Um another example of a opportunity for fear base that we didn't take. Now, this is this is me looking back and and being like, oh, we actually did the right thing here. Yeah, that happens sometimes too. It was it was when we when we got into our first location. We were operating mobily and we just we didn't like it. We didn't like not having the ability to control the uh the situation. We did not like dealing with the road construction that inevitably happens every time snow melts in Minnesota. It happened a couple of times where we were working with somebody and it was the like the early spring and they were wanting, they asked about overcoats, and we didn't bring our overcoat stuff. And so we couldn't sell that. And that felt like uh we let money slip through our fingers because just because we didn't have it, because we couldn't bring it, because we didn't have the space. Yeah. So we didn't enjoy being mobile. I know that there are mobile clothiers out there who you've been doing it forever, you enjoy it, you love having no zero overhead. That there are some real benefits to it. Don't get me wrong. Don't get me wrong, there are some big benefits to it, but there are also some negatives. But we didn't want to do that. It wasn't the business we wanted. No. So we we ended up in a situation where it was before we felt like we could afford it, but we ended up in a situation where there was a space that presented itself to us, and we're sitting here and we're like, we don't really have that consistency that we thought we needed to do this. And where my mind went was if there's ever a month where I feel like we won't be able to do this, I can easily make that up picking up some other job or doing odd jobs in some other way. That's where my head went, which I'm looking at that now, and it's like, it feels a little poverty fear-based, but it wasn't because it was me finding a way to justify what I knew we had to do for our business. What many people would say is, ah, it's just not the right time. I'm not ready, I'm not consistent, uh, X, Y, Z. These are all the reasons why this isn't the decision that I'm gonna make. And maybe something in your life will be the perfect time. But my experience is that all of the biggest, most impactful decisions I've ever made about anything business, profession, personal, professional life, it's never felt like the perfect time ever. No, I can't think there's always been like there would have been a better time if you would have asked me. But the opportunities present themselves when the opportunities present themselves. And you have to decide am I willing to do this thing or not? Because maybe the time that feels perfect is never gonna come. And all that to say, we did end up doing it. It did end up working out. I didn't have to pick up another job, and then we moved again. And it was the same type of thing. Oh, it doesn't feel like the right time, triple the rent payment, doesn't feel like the right time. Do you know what if what if it doesn't work? Well, I know what if it doesn't work. If it doesn't work, it's this amount of money per month, and we'll we'll figure it out. But what I don't know is what will my business look like if this does work. Let's do that. Fast forward, you know, three, four, five years, can't even remember how long we were in that space, move to another one. Exact same situation. Triple the rent payment. What happens if it doesn't work? Well, it did. I know it worked fine. I know what happens if it doesn't work. It's this amount of money per month. Fast forward to where we are today. Again, triple the rent payment. Do you think we had the same conversations this time that we had that first time? No. I don't have to think about that anymore. I don't have to, I didn't, I didn't once look for a part-time job before we moved into this space. That cost 30 times per month. It's there, yeah, I guess. And we did not have the same conversations this time around because we have experience operating from a place of confidence, knowing that even though the timing doesn't feel right and it's going to cost money, this is something that I feel like I should do in order to achieve a result that I know that I want. And this experience started from a place of feeling like we were faking it along the way. If we weren't willing or able to do that, or we felt too weird about it that we just decided not to even try, we wouldn't be sitting here at custom clothe your church bringing the good word. That's good. Custom clothe your church. I like that. That'll preach. But that is what it is. Is when it comes time to make decisions, big or small, and this is this is, I think, uh an important thing to keep in mind. Everyone get your Bibles out. When opportunities to spend money present themselves, because that's what it is. It's it's it's not about, oh, should I write this sentence on my website? That's not what it is. It's not, oh, should I post this thing on Instagram? It's not about things you can do for free. It's when you, as the business owner, are presented with opportunities that are going to cost you money. What are you gonna do? Are you gonna operate from confidence or are you gonna operate from fear? And by the way, not everything you can pay for is worth it either. There are plenty of things that plenty of people spend their money on, and I don't think they should be spending their money on that thing. I'm not saying every time you need to do something for your business, it should cost you money, but I'm saying that's usually the linchpin or spend money on anything that is possibly presents itself. Right. I'm I'm saying the the checkpoint for you as a business owner, and oftentimes where we have a tendency to revert into fear versus confidence, poverty versus abundance, is when opportunities to spend money present themselves. Also, you got to remember that just because you're spending money doesn't mean it's an expense necessarily. That's something that a lot of people get wrong. Not just clothiers, but tons of clothiers. Anytime they're spending money on whatever it is, whether it's uh, you know, coaching or rent or their own clothes, they're they're thinking about it as, oh, well, that's gonna, that's expensive. Oh, that's an expense. No, it's not. It's an investment. You you're getting something for it. You're you are building your business stronger, more profitable. And these things you're doing that you're spending money on are actually earning you income. They are helping you do your job better, reaching the right people in the right way, where you're capitalizing on these things, where you're selling the better things, you're selling more of them in an easier way. You're you're making these are these are things that are making you money. Just because they're costing some money, they are, but they're also making you tons of money too. So it's really important to keep that in mind too, to adjust that. It's not an expense necessary. Sometimes it is, but it's not an expense necessarily. You're you're pouring money into your business that you are also getting out of it. And that money spent, that dollar amount, that is the worst case scenario. That's the worst case. And as as we're making these decisions too, we always think about it in terms of suits. Right. How many suits is that? Can I sell a suit if I make this decision? Do you think I might let's just use LCC as an example. Enrollment is open and it costs money to be part of it. Duh. It costs money, and there's also an expectation that you're gonna show up to the calls. And as we're workshopping tweaks in your business that there are gonna be some implementation things that there are expectations that you make decisions for your business. But if if all it was was a bunch of people spending money and they weren't getting anything out of it, we wouldn't have anyone in it, and you'd be you'd be stupid to join. But that's not what's going on here. It's this, it's a group of us and their businesses are growing and they're they're making way more than this money back in what they're doing. And enrollment is open now, and you have an opportunity to spend a little bit of money and also it, you know, spend some time improving your business, improving your processes in honing in what you do and making it even better. And it does pay off. And that's a that's a perfect example. And it's a perfect example of having an opportunity to take advantage of something and deciding that you're either down for it and you're ready to to do it and change the trajectory of your job, your career, your business, or well, I don't know if I want to spend that kind of money. What happens if it doesn't pay off? Well, what happens if it doesn't pay off is you have the business you have. And you're probably doing fine. I'm not gonna pretend that if you stop coming to our networking group, your business is closed, like we were told. It's that's you're you're gonna have the business you have. Maybe you are close to closing. I don't know. I hope not. But you're gonna have the business you have if you don't join. And if that feels fine to you, then then luxury clothier collective isn't right for you anyway, if you don't want to make changes. But if you do, if you're if you feel like things are going pretty, pretty well, but you want them to be great. You want it to feel easier. You want to be able to have some help and some accountability as you're making these changes and you're enforcing your rush order minimums. We just workshopped that with one of our LCC clothiers, was a big time rush, big time rush. It was not big time rush that came in. It was uh a big time rush order that he was being asked to do. Very important distinction. And he was like, help. Yeah. I'm not just gonna say yes to this. I know that's the wrong thing to do, help. And we sent him a number of emails that we've sent over the last few years of enforcing the rush order minimum, how to do it, how to phrase it. He took that info and he implemented it in his own way. But if you're not, if you're not interested in making changes to your business and you like where you're at and you don't want it to improve, then don't join. That's it, would be silly for you to join. But this is an opportunity for some of you who are listening, who are feeling something about what we're saying, and you want help, and you're just ready to make those changes and you're ready to see what could happen. You're ready to experience that unknown of what if it actually does work. Right. This is your time. And the timing might not feel right. Like we just said, the timing probably won't. The timing never feels perfect when you're making what feels like a big decision. But you get the opportunities when you get the opportunities. And enrollment is only open right now, and it's not going to be open for more than another week. And then it's done. And we don't have any immediate plans to open it again. Maybe we will, maybe we won't. I don't know. But it even if we do, it's not going to happen anytime soon. So if you're thinking about it and you're you're you're feeling like you you might be ready, I would encourage you to let this be your maybe your first experience with stepping out into that confidence decision making rather than letting the scarcity mindset keep holding you back. And that's really what it is is is there it actually is measurable. The what if it doesn't work, the fear, the scarcity, the poverty. That's the measurable part. The upside is the is the part that you don't even know. And it could be amazing. And that is what we've experienced as we've been intentional about every time opportunities present themselves to operate from fear or operate from confidence, choosing the confidence, even though it's not comfortable. And even though for a period of time it feels like, man, I'm faking this. I'm pretending like I'm the busiest guy in town and I don't have a single thing in the calendar. What's on the other side of operating that way is really amazing. And I know what's on the other side of operating through fear. It's the low spend, the high maintenance, the low profits, the low-hanging fruit, the lowest common denominator, the stress, the sleepless nights. That's what's on the other side of operating from fear. And the thing is, most custom clothiers, that's what they're gonna do. Because most people do that. And even us, we do that too. We have to remind ourselves to get out of it. You know, we still have slow months, we still have slow weeks, but we didn't create this business to have a whole bunch of bullshit leads come in every single day. We created this business because we want great lives, we want a great business, we want to love what we do, we want to love who we work with. And we're doing that right now. And it feels good. And that also means that it's not time to just live in that, it's time to, you know, try to figure out how to continue to do it better. And we've told you about some of the things that we've changed this year that we were doing differently a year ago. The meeting our sales process. The meeting we had before this was a slight tweak on our rush order requirement. We did it for the first time with the meeting we just had, and it worked like a charm. Yes, it did. Yes, it did. We're still changing things too. We don't, we don't have it all as we sit here today. We don't have it all figured out. We're always trying to improve. And that's a great spot to be. And I know that when an opportunity presents itself to us down the road and we have one of two paths, I know the paths we're gonna choose. And I know we're our business is gonna be better off for it. And that's ultimately should serve as an encouragement to you, I think, rather than a big scary challenge or like we're yelling at you and we're not mad at you. We're not mad at your decision making. I'm not even thinking about a decision that maybe you're going through in this moment right now. We're just talking. But hopefully what we're saying gives you the confidence that you need to start operating that way. Because it's one thing to tell people that you have confidence or that you know you're confident in yourself and you're confident in your business. And it's another thing to tell somebody who wants to work with you, no, because they won't get on your level. Show me, don't tell me. So maybe this was an encouragement for you. Maybe you're doing it, and that's possible too. And that would be great. Sometimes we just need a little encouragement, a little pat on the back for doing for doing it right. And if that's you, I applaud you because it's not easy. All these tweaks and changes and these little things and the things that we work through in like million dollar manual, for example, or the things that we're working through actively with our clothe ears and LCC, nothing is earth-shattering necessarily. Uh it's all pretty minor, but it's important. But it it sometimes feels difficult to just do it. Yeah, that's the difficult part. And that's doing, and that's where the accountability is important because it's a matter of uh check-in and and help along the way. And oh, well, I tried it and it didn't work. So let's workshop a way to maybe improve and get get us the outcome that we actually want next time. But that's where the the change is. It's not these huge, just sweeping changes that are gonna completely destroy the business you have and turn it into something that looks exactly like ours. Everyone's business is different. And all of these things are tweaks, but it's important to keep your head down and to keep allowing your focus to be what you want, which really only comes when you're focused on that abundance, that confidence, and you're not feeling like you're falling into the scarcity that's trying to hold you back and trying to keep you where you're at. And I will say, you have good instincts. Trust your God. You might be asking, well, what when will I know if I have the opportunity to operate in abundance versus fear? You'll know. Trust me. Trust me, you'll know. When you start having that mental conversation in your mind of, well, what happens if it doesn't work? That's the opportunity. Some of you will have that today when you're at work. Some of that, some of you will have that this week. In between this week and next week, you're gonna have this. Some of you will have a couple of them. And you'll think, oh, this might be what they're talking about. Yeah, it is. We'd love to hear your thoughts.
