Portland 2-4 Boston. Down to ten in the 22nd minute, down two at the break, and still in it until stoppage time.
We're back at Pappy's, our original bar, on a Monday, because Marissa got a tattoo on Sunday. It says "gay" in Old English, lowercase g, so it doesn't read "hey".
Marissa was in the press box. Boston played like a team chasing playoff points, not one that was already eliminated. Sophia Wilson was sent off for a hair pull right in front of the referee, and Marissa isn't arguing with the red. Boston scored twice before halftime. Then, with ten players, Portland played what Marissa calls some of their best soccer. Pietra Tordin's penalty made it 2-1, and Shae Harvey scored her first NWSL goal off the bench. Boston scored either side of it, in the 88th minute and in stoppage time. Marissa has questions about Mackenzie Arnold's positioning on those two goals. She also says no one player loses a game.
Then the good news. Tordin's penalty made Portland the first club to 50 regular-season penalty goals, and she has her first senior USA call-up. Jessie Fleming set the club's single-season appearance record and has played 51 games in a row. Alan has a new jersey, and Marissa wants the owners to bring back red, black and green.
Plus Marissa's Match Week 24 Roundup, the table after the weekend's games (seventh, three clear of Seattle with three to play), and USA v Spain in the international break. Thorns Abroad is next week.
Recorded Monday, October 5, after every Week 24 game was played.
Bring a drink.

Welcome to Rose City Red Card for October 5th. We are back here at our old location, Pappy's. I am Alan and with me here tonight is Marissa. Hey, it's Marissa. I'm here and I'm queer. Exactly. There we go, yeah. Well, and to get to more of that, the reason we're here at Pappy's is we're planning to be at our old location or our new location at Dingo's. But you had an opportunity to get a tattoo yesterday. So tell us about your new tattoo. I got a tattoo. Shout out to my home girl, Ashley. I got gay in Old English on my arm above my elbow. It's so great. I'm so proud of it. I mean, if people already didn't know when I walk into a room that I'm gay, now they do. Now if I just turn around and show them my arm, they know, they know. Either that or they think it says yay because... I know. I will say, but there's a reason why... But if you take a second look, it's very clearly gay. It's just, it's that first glance. It can look like yay if you're not paying attention. But then also, there's a reason why I got the lowercase G is because the uppercase G looks like, hey. Hey. Didn't want that, so we got a lowercase G. Perfect. You know, it looks fantastic. And getting a tattoo, I think, is a good enough reason to delay a podcast by the day. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly, exactly. Especially because we've got a backup. place to record. I know. And this is our, yeah, this is our OG spot, you know? Give it up, Priscilla. Yeah. Bartender flashes us every game. Every time we work here. Every episode. Yeah, every time we're here. Show us them boobies. I'm just sure. All right. All right. So let's get to this fucking episode. Let's fucking do this. Well, so, um, your, your message earlier, uh, was who cursed us, uh, the Etsy witches. I want names. Yes. So, so. Yeah. Tell us. I don't, the last month has been hard to see. Yeah, we beat Orlando 4-1. That was huge. We're, okay. So, yeah, so we're a second half team now, it looks like. But yeah, we, it's, um, all, we're all worried, Thorns fans. But also we're worried, but also we're worried, but we do have some good stuff. I'm going to talk to you about the end, because we have a lot of things that are going good for our team. So, yeah, let's... But, you know, we talked about hiring our own Etsy witches. It feels like we need to get back into that, because we have the last four at home, we're winless. We've only won one of the last five, yeah, last five games. And, you know, we'll get into it in a minute, but we're... We hadn't lost... We hadn't lost... We hadn't lost at Providence Park in a year. And inside of a... couple weeks, we've lost two times. Yeah. And we've lost against a team that's already been eliminated, and... Yeah, yeah. They've, and like, as ESPN called them today, which was completely fucked up, a bottom of the barrel, or a bottom feeding team is how, what we've been losing to. ESPN said that. It was, that's, it was brutal. It was kind of brutal. That's a burn. That was brutal. But, yeah, I mean, it was brutal. We should be worried. It's, it's, we'll get into the game, but. So you said that your notes, uh, to me would have a lot of, uh, fuck this, uh, fuck sports, fuck everything. Um, I do hate, I fucking, I was like, where's my Seroquel? I fucking hate this sport. I hate this team. I hate myself. I hate you. I was, I wanted to yell at people, throw stuff in the fucking crowd. I was up fucking set. But I, but I was upset. Like, who can we be upset against? Like, so, how do the hair, like, we, I'm having, I'm raising, I'm throwing my arms in the air. If you couldn't tell. I'm freaking out and throw my arms in the air. Let's, let's talk about some positive things. Um, and then we'll go into, uh, the content of the game and, um, what fell apart. Yeah. But you were actually at the game. Yeah. And you had a great time actually being there. Yeah. I was not there this week. Um, but you were at, at the, uh, at Providence Park. Uh, it sounds like the food was fantastic. Um, I was, was jealous, uh, of the make your own euro, uh, thing. Looks delicious. Yeah, it was actually fucking delicious. So yeah. So I was at Providence Park for the Boston game. Um, uh, 17,860 showed up, which is, uh, I don't know. We, we, we always kill it with the attendance, but it was actually really cool time. So normally when I'm in the press box, we kind of just kind of sporadically go. So I'm not really close with anybody in the box. But, I was sat next to this woman, Stephanie, who, um, writes for the Portland Mercury and she covers the fire. And we got to kind of just chatting and I guess she, like, talked to her editor or somebody. And she was like, yeah, the fire season's over, like, should I go to some Thorns games? And so she's been going to Thorns games. This is her second game that she went to. And we got to kind of just like shoot the shit about just the fire and the, just the WNBA playoffs and like, just soccer and just kind of just talking about like how she got here. into Portland. And it was really, it was actually really cool. Like, that's an awesome time. Like, it was, it was really, it was a good time. Yeah. It was really cool. And yeah, so shout out to Stephanie from Portland Mercury and, uh, fire. We didn't make playoffs this year, but God damn, we succeeded every expectation. We'll fucking be back for next year. So exactly. Yeah. Big shout out women, like Portland women sports, man. It was, it was a really cool time up there. Fuck. Yeah. Yeah. It's so great to see everybody, you know, getting together and expanding all these sports, all these. teams. It was definitely like the silver lining of the night for me. Like it was shitty watching us lose like that. But it was really cool, like just talking to somebody and talking about basketball with somebody that like knows basketball. It was, it was cool. It was exciting. That's so cool. Yeah. Well, that'll get us into what happened to the game. But before we do that, I feel like we need a drink. So Cheers. Cheers. Cheers. So we, we lost to Boston. As we mentioned, two to four. It was a rough, rough game. Marissa, what happened? So Boston came out, they came out like they were fighting for playoff points, not like they were fighting for playoff points. Not like they were already eliminated. They were so physical on Soph at the beginning of the game. Like, I mean, you have to. Like, you've got to be physical. But I also think that people have Providence Park Thorns on their list of where they want to win. Like, I was watching their girls chirping us on the crowd because we were booing them and they were like having their hands on their ears. Like, yeah, what was that? And it was soul crushing because you guys got fucking eliminated. So I don't know. Do you guys are fucking shit about. But, um. They were hamming it up out there. Yeah. I mean, so. Yeah. So. Yeah. So Reyes got a yellow card at the six minute. Um, it was a jersey pull. It was I want to always call those things smart fouls because if the player's going by you, who knows behind you. You should always know, kind of, I don't know if she, you know, knew behind her. But smart foul, yellow card. It's already concerning that one of our difference is a yellow. Like she's not going to be able to. Six minutes in. Yeah, six minutes in. She's not going to be able to play as a. you know, aggressive as she might have been before that. But we're really fucked us in the ass. What really fucked us in the ass without Loub was Soph Wilson, getting a red card in the 22nd minute. Soph, we know that you're not that girl. You know that it wasn't on purpose. But it came out of nowhere. It came out of nowhere. And it was right in front of the ref. VAR didn't even check. It was a red card. Even the replays, I saw, I was at the game. which is nothing because it's so hard as you can't replay anything. But any of the replays that we found, it was like from a far camera and you can not really see. But you do see that girl's head go back. And I don't know, red card. If your hair pulls or red cards, that's the way the league does it. It is what it is. And it is a good rule to have. It is, yeah. Some really bad cases of it this year. Yeah, absolutely. It's been happening a lot. It's actually kind of crazy. We should talk about that maybe. But there's been a lot. Like somebody, I think on time wasting. They brought up, like, the increase of hair, like, and is it because of hairstyle? Like, what is it, you know? And there's, yeah. But anyways, yeah, so after that, it was 22nd minute. Now we're a player down. Boston's already hungry. They're already aggressive at us. We conceded two goals in those, in that rest before the half. It was 2-0 going into the half. We were falling apart. We saw Weaver go to the sideline and probably get some direction after the red card to be like, hey, what's the plan now, you know? And I don't think it really got conveyed or I don't know if like he could make the things that like the little like adjustment study wanted because after halftime, it was a completely different game. We actually played some of our best soccer, I feel like in that half, in that second half. You would not consider that we were down a player. At some points, it looked like Boston was down a player. We were down their throats. Yeah. We were on top of things. On top of. things and we had some incredible I know I know I know I know none of them went in I know I know we looked good and I think what's what's what's what the Thorns need to do is like I don't know people like our number one score Soph was out okay well now who's going to score you know what I mean like she's we do have a lot of all these we have different players that score all season absolutely but like okay well now who's going to be that person you know also who's going to be that person that can be in transition enough to make sure and be like oh well don't forget that we're also down a player and we need to be like you know like defensive I don't know but there were some really good adjustments at halftime I don't know what Vilahamn did but like was said but there was definitely a change well and this was Wilson's second um red card um her first her first was in 2024 um as I just started getting into the Thorns earlier this year this was one of the first like YouTube clips that you showed me so tell me uh what did Soph get her first red card for first red card was when the ball was on the sideline and she was her already subbed out and she grabbed the ball and tried to hide it underneath the bench and she's like smiling why she does it and it's just like girl a red card on the bench like you're not even in the game and it was just sidelines yeah and I mean between that and this one like those are just silly red cards you know like the first one is it's kind of funny but like it was a red card and this one is actually not fucking funny because now she suspended a game or have we heard for sure is it a game so or two know that there's it's at least one game okay there's an automatic one okay um it could be a second one and there is some precedent for that but they just have to review it probably this week they they haven't announced it yet so we'll we'll have to see okay okay okay okay okay thanks, Brooke so Brooke is telling us that we might know on Thursday um so we'll we'll watch and see yeah we'll see we'll find out well yeah we'll we do do episodes every week so you will be updated exactly so what what brought us back or what started to bring us back you said we started to play really well after the the half time yeah but uh how do we've you know we lost two to four uh so we at least so the first goal came about when uh Tordin got fouled in the box they collided and me as somebody that's just i'm like okay well both players fell like goalies get the it was like nope foul for on uh Murphy Tordin got the foul Tordin shot that shit in it was really nice and at that point the score was two to one and the goalie is like so the switch like you switch sides obviously on halves and so the goalie was in front of our Riveters and the Riveters were on their feet the fucking whole game also the Thorns don't play nobody lost we lost two four whatever the last game nobody was leaving early people don't do that in fucking Portland but it was it was it was electric we were two one and also we were killing it but then after that two one i feel like we were like okay we gained some momentum and then they scored a third but then we scored a second which is also Shae Harvey's first NWSL goal hey congratulations congratulations also like we were talked like last time last uh last pod that we did we were talking about the the substitutes making a huge difference and i feel like they do they ignite it like it's like it's we have a really young core but i feel like they're they're they get on the field and they're hungry they know excuse me know what they're supposed to do like it's it's it was it was good but yeah and then two to three and then ma this isn't a podcast that we talk shit about players but Mackenzie Arnold what are you doing those last two goals stay on your line or come out be aggressive i am not a professional goalie i am not a professional soccer player or a sports analyst i'm at a bar drinking but she was she was so far out and like you can see her like trying to run back and just realizing it's too far especially because like i'm sorry i know that she's a goalie but like she's not turn her she's not gonna get back quick you know like although right before this happened i was thinking it's really cool to see like when she gets the ball she like she's a great goalie but she also can kick like a really long distance we've seen her having assists assists on goals which is incredible yeah you know when she wants to she can clear the ball out of that side of the field uh but you know if she's way out there trying to do that she's not there defending she's not she's not they're defending she's not and it is like we've said before it's not one this is a team sport there's 11 10 players on the field but not one person is at fault for the goal so mac maca we love you love what you do with you know apartment we see you on social media girl go for you go for you oh yeah love the couch love the couch well and we'll talk about her a little bit later when we're talking about some of the cool things that uh our Thorns abroad episode exactly uh so that was it was there anything else about the game that you wanted to cover um i am going to protect my mental health and we're going to say some really good things uh so we are going to get yeah so we have some really we lost two to four to one of the uh not better teams in the league but we have a lot to look forward to and we also have a lot to remember what's going on in our team we have a new coach this season not even a full season he hasn't he didn't get any off he didn't get any pre-game off season like pre-season stuff he didn't he's brand new ish he's figuring things out as he goes we also in the last couple years have lost some of our biggest glues we lost Christine Sinclair, Becky Sauerbrunn and Sam Coffey those are huge captain leader people that's a lot last season we didn't have Soph Soph came back not she Soph hasn't even played a full season you know what i mean and then like we lost Olivia Moultrie who is one of the best midfielders in our country she's one of the best midfielders in our country and we lost her so we yeah we're not doing well uh so we didn't have uh Soph last year uh so what do you think can we get away we finished in third last year can we get away the next game without her yes yeah absolutely i think if Vilahamn uh makes the right adjustments which i think that we did in the second half like i said we it wasn't enough to fucking win the game but we did a we did a solid second half scoring goals and being aggressive with one player down is a lot you know what i mean so shrug Marissa shrugs so that brings us to some really cool milestones uh that are happening uh with the Thorns so we were the first club to 50 regular season penalty goals and it was the one that Tordin scored so you know not only did that bring us back into the game but it was also you know a pretty cool milestone yeah also we've said it every time we brought her up but like congrats Pietra Tordin on your first senior USA call-up that's fucking that is so cool we are so excited to see you play girl well tell us about that uh there are we're going to uh do our international episode next week yeah but there are some really cool uh like there are a lot of we have a lot of players going to play for different countries like um uh the Netherlands Mexico Australia USA but we it's just yeah we're we're we're going to have our full episode next week it's going to be titled Thorns abroad unless we can think of anything funnier than that but we're going to discuss everywhere our Thorns are going whether it be senior team call-ups whether it be U23 call-ups we were going to go through everything we're going to talk about how they when they play each other because we also have a little um Aussie versus Germany thorny right game kind of going on with Mackenzie Arnold as playing uh with Australia and she's playing um Marie Müller who plays for Germany so that should be fun so apparently we do have a Colombian, uh, Valerin Loboa oh oh yeah because she just won third place with world cup i forgot i forgot but she's not going for the U23s she's a U20 player yeah yeah yeah yeah still it you know there's these incredible players i know and it's i'm about to shove soccer so far down Alan's throat i'm excited uh just just just open up i'm ready for it uh as Marissa deep throats the mic i'm tonguing the mic everybody i'm tongueing the mic also shout out to Alan i love this guy he's like one of my closest friends i'm only i'm on drink three we're just living life man let's talk about the Thorns i love doing this it's it's it's so much fun uh i'm glad we met and that uh we came up with this idea i know i and also Alan is in a Thorns jersey right now so give it yeah i went to the man uh i went to buy my daughter uh that's right i went to buy my daughter her a jersey for her uh you ate soccer game and uh while i was there i bought myself a Thorns jersey and decided that you know after this game this weekend uh i really needed to wear it so it looks good man i'm i'm definitely going to get one you know i i saw myself in the mirror and i was like actually these kind of look good like you know it's it's it's kind of a stylish choice yeah it's not bad it's the peach the it's the lecroyd colors It really is. It really is. Also, shout out to Bhathals. Thanks for that training facility, but can you bring our jersey colors back to red black and green? Yeah, that that peach is rough. That's why you ain't selling jerseys, y'all. Like, bring it back the colors. Sell some jerseys. Yeah, I got the black and red. Yeah, the home black. It looks good. That's why I said it looks there and it looks sleep. I saw this there and I was like, I was like, the three stars above the crest look great. I had to get it. So, yeah. I don't know if any other team has three stars above their crest. They don't. That's right. We're in seventh place. Got beat by Boston. All right. Sorry. Well, so one other thing, one other milestone. This is Jessie Fleming's. She made the single season appearance record with 51 straight. So, yeah, you know, 51 games in a row. is a lot of games to be playing. And so, you know, congratulations to her. That is so cool. It's, in hockey, they call it the Iron Man is when you play, like, the Iron Mine record. And she's the Iron Woman record. So like, let's go, Flem. Canada. Let's go, girl. That's right. So that brings us to. Oh, Marissa's match week roundup. Week 24. Let's get into it. Yeah, tell us what happened. So, Friday, we had Orlando versus San Diego. San Diego wins two to one. They, I mean, San Diego, there's a reason why they are one of the best teams of the league, but the second half was different, and Barbra Banda got a PK, and they held off. It was two, so it was two to one. The game ended at two to one, San Diego won, but they held off Orlando's press, and the last 10 minutes of the game was chippy. hippie, you could tell Orlando was hungry, and they wanted that. You know, those last 10 minutes of a game, you're just like, it's like, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, fight, yeah. It was, it was insane. It was actually a really fun game to watch. The next game that was on Friday was North Carolina versus Seattle. North Carolina beat Seattle 1-0. He-0. Still waiting on Ashley Sanchez to rake the record, and she's still currently tied at 20 points. But, or 20 goals. But Ashley Sanchez got a USA call-up, and I think that all of them. of us would have rioted if she would not have gotten a USA call-up. I think it's her first call-up in over a year, maybe even closer to two years. And with 20 goals in a season, Emma Hayes couldn't deny it. You got to get Ashley Sanchez. So congrats to Ashley Sanchez. You tied the record, the Golden Boot record, but also you got USA senior call-up. That's fucking huge. And us at Rose City Red Card support you, but not in a couple weeks when you play us. So, all right, those are the only games on Friday. And then on Saturday, first game was racing Louisville versus Utah. Ends in a 1-1 draw. Racing came out swinging. I think I brought this up last episode, but like they were playing like they were one of the better teams in the league. And they were having to come back. They were hustling out there. It's a little too late, but they're prepping for next season. Yeah, it was really great. And actually, Utah only scored in like the last part of the game to tie. it, but like, way to go racing. Like, that was, that was awesome. In stoppage time. And it's a shame, yeah, because I was looking at the standings, how last season went. I saw that we ended in third, but I forgot that Louisville fucking made it into the fucking playoffs. And Bev, their coach got coach to the year. And now they're, I don't know. It's just a shame. They've had a rough year. About a rough year. Maybe they're bringing it back. I know. Maybe they're prepping themselves for next year. I know. Well, I don't know. Hopefully their owners, like, threatening the fans, like if they don't show up. Anyways, okay. Now moving on to the second game. Or the second game of the day on Saturday. It was Kansas City versus Bay Bay. I have Bay Bay written in my notes. It's Bay City. Actually, it's not even Bay City. It's Bay FC. So, anyway, so Kansas City versus Bay Bay Bay Bay. Started off looking good. It was tied one to one at the half. But then Kansas City is going to Kansas City and put belt to ass and beat the Bay five to one. Also, fuck you. Kansas City. 31 games in a row you have not lost at home. And their stadium only holds like 11,000, 12,000 fucking people. Yeah. Anyways, that's upsetting. And they're also without Croix still. So it's interesting to see this table. The table will turn. So, third game of the day on Saturday was Bartland, Boston versus Portland. In my notes, I say, I hate this sport. I hate everyone. Fuck you. Fuck you. Final score was two to four. We lost. Sunday, we had three games. First game was Gotham versus Angel City. They tied one to one. It was a really good game. I've been saying Angel City is peeking at the right time. They got all their defenders back. They're looking solid. And they scored, like, last minute, to tie the game. And as much as I'm so stoked that Angel City is doing well, that fucking tie dropped us down to seventh. So fuck you Angel City, congratulations. Second game of the day on Sunday was Chicago versus Denver. Denver wins three zero. Captain Heaps scored two goals, which is great. She's, I mean, because she got here in the middle of it, in the middle. Playing so well. She's playing so well. Like, she used to play for Lyon in the French league, and they have such a different style. And she's just, I don't know, she's just looking good. Sorry, Chicago, I don't know what to say. It's crazy that we tied them at home. Like they were winning, and we got the goal back. Anyways, getting distracted. Last game of the day on Sunday was Houston Dash versus Washington Spirit. Spirit won three to two. The game was a lot closer than you'd think. Dash did really well. I feel like the dash are kind of like Bay. The score line doesn't, the games are really, closer than you think. I mean, 5-1 is kind of rough to say the closest game, but they played well and I don't know. Yeah, it was good. If you pull the spirit to a close game like that, that's a good game. So that brings us to the table. As you were talking about earlier, we are now in seven. Started at fifth. We started at fifth on the weekend, but we're down to seventh. We're three clear of Seattle, which is in ninth. And there are three games left to play. Yes, yes. I will say it's crazy how shitty we've been playing and we're still in playoff contention. Like, we have not dropped to 8th yet. We have not dropped below. We have literally been in playoff contention. It just shows how well we were doing at the beginning we're okay, Thorns. We have not been looking okay, but it is okay and we will do well. We're out of the shield race, but you know, we still we're still looking like we're probably going to be in the playoffs three more games and, you know, I think we've got this. We've still got some time. I think we've got this and there's time and also there's playoffs are different. You know what I mean? Like last year, Gotham barely made it in the playoffs. Barely made in the playoffs at the A-C and they knocked off Kansas City number one in the first round of the playoffs. It was nuts. So yeah, well, like anything can happen in this fucking league. It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're going to get. That's my Alan voice. Okay. So next week, or next week we have no game. It is the international break. Yep. After that, we're against Bay FC. Then we're going to be against North Carolina at home. Hopefully we'll be able to make it to that game. We'll see. And then there's only one more game after that at Houston. So we did make plans for that last home game. We're going to go with Brendan and so. And we're going to get drunk and yell and be loud for the Thorns. That's right. That's going to be a fun one. Especially because my buddy Kevin that gets there two, like literally gets there when the gates open. He is like five rows down, like five rows up from the Riveters. Like he's in the mix and it is he specifically sits outside of it. So it sounds as a stand the whole time. But he is in the mix and we can get some really good tickets. Or we don't have to and we could sit up because where he sits, the seats are have like the things like, it's a seat. See, but where we can sit high up, it's like a concrete kind of bench type. thing. It's just a huge thing. It's we can spread out and just drinking and having a good time. Like, one of my what I do, when I used to not go have like media credentials, I can get to the game like two hours and not have a line to worry about was I would get to the game and I was like, I'm going to get there 30 minutes late or 30 minutes early, 40 minutes early, I'll be okay. And then I'd get there and I was like, oh, this is the worst time to get into the fucking place. So I'd go to Marathon, which is across the street. I'd get a drink and just watch like the first 15, 20 minute game, 15, 20 minutes of the game there. and then I would walk over and there would be no line and then I got to get like a drink for free or not for free, but a cheap drink, not like a with no weight. Yeah, no weight and I watched the game and so it was really nice. That's a, that's a fantastic way to do it. We've done a lot of tangents. We have, well, just tell us real quick a little bit more about the Thorns that we're going to see on the international break and then I think that's all we have to talk about tonight. I will say I am, looking forward to the FIFA break. Holy shit. I feel like it'll be a different environment. It'll be a reset for the girls. There's a new training, new coaches, new everything. I feel like it'll be really good or bad. I don't think it'll be good for our, like, I think it's going to be good. We need something new. We need something to. Restart, you know, different. Yeah. To shake things up. And also, like, it's a lot of confidence, I feel like, that you can build. I mean, we'll see how these games go, but getting called up even is like a, huge deal and I feel like that will really press into the game. So yeah, I'm just really excited about that. Also, so we're talking about the USA and we are playing, we are USA ranked number two in the FIFA World Cup, or FIFA World Rankings and we're playing number one, Spain. This is huge. The last couple friendlies that we've had are against Japan and Brazil. Japan is at 7th, or Japan's at 5th, Brazil is at 7th. And I feel like this is just going to be really big. We want to play. We don't need to prepare for next summer in the World Cup. We don't need to be playing bad teams. We want to be pushed. Especially because our American game is so different from the Spanish League. They will, the game will be 01, 1-0,20, 2-1 because they, Brazil, or I mean, excuse me, Spain plays possession. They play tiki-taka, they will hold to the ball forever. They won't even cross the fucking half line if they don't need to. They're fine. You make your players run. You guys run. We'll do our thing. I'm really looking forward to see these games. We're going to go through our NWSL rankings in a minute, but just to give a top five of the FIFA women's like rankings. Spain is ranked number one and USA is ranked number two. Germany is number three. England is number four. Japan is number five. Six is France. Seven, Brazil. Eight is Sweden. Nine is Canada. Ten is PRK. Which is crazy because that stands for North Korea. I'm pretty sure. So I don't know how North Korea has a 10th place team in the FIFA rankings. Brooke is going to have to look into that because I guess if you don't play well, your family dies. I don't know what goes on there. But. you know, maybe it's a way to get out. Like I just said, like those, yeah, so let's move on. And we're moving on. To the NWSL table standing. So we have Gotham at number one. Who would have thought that? Crazy, right? We have Gotham right now. Oh my God. Gotham has 55 points. What the fuck. San Diego Wave are at second place at 51 points. Washington Spirit are at third place with 49 points. Utah Royals are at fourth place with 46 points. KC Current is at fifth with 44 points. Angel City is at six with 43 points. The Portland Thorns, I don't know if you know the Portland Thorns are, but. Who? Who? What? What's this jersey? I see that jersey. I see the three stars above that crest. Oh, what are that? Anyways, we are seventh with 43 points. We have the same amount of points as Angel City, but the goal differential is the one that is the thing that makes it, breaks it. So they're ahead of us. Also, we have to round out the playoff contention numbers, 1 through 8. Eighth is North Carolina with 42 points. And because the table is so tight, we will also conclude or include the two teams that are right out of the playoff contention, it's Seattle at 40 points and Denver Summit at 38 points. So a lot could happen in the next, you know, not in the next couple of weeks because we have a FIFA break. We got a little bit of a break. And we're going to give Spain a fucking ass whooping? Who about Mati? Who Pataias? I don't know those people. Caliente. I don't know them people. Well, we only got a couple of games after that. Yeah, we have three games after that. So then we're almost to the end of this season. Well, I think that brings us to the end of our show. So as always, as always, no injuries, all fun, fuck Seattle. Let's go Thorns. Let's fucking go, Thorns. Let's fucking go. We're good. We're good. We got this. We got this. Let's fucking go Thorns.
