Baddie in Progress is the podcast for the woman who gained a little weight in her "yes to everything" era and doesn't quite recognize herself anymore. Not in photos. Not in the mirror. Not in her own skin. Hosted by Andrea — online fitness coach and Pilates instructor — this show is real talk on what it actually takes to get toned, feel sexy again, and build a fitness routine around your life instead of sacrificing it. No strict diets. No guilt. Just structure that works for a woman who also has a social life outside of her day-to-day. Follow Andrea on Instagram: @andreamartinez.fit

In this episode I'm talking about the real reason women stay stuck even when they know exactly what to do — and it has nothing to do with motivation, willpower, or discipline. It's about consistency, identity, and what it actually takes to become the woman who follows through instead of the woman who keeps starting over.
And at the end I'm sharing something I do once a year that I've never talked about on here before.
Once a year I take one woman through 12 full weeks of fitness and nutrition coaching — completely free. One spot. This is it for the year. If you've been stuck in the knowing-but-not-doing cycle and you're ready for someone to actually be in your corner — link to apply is in my bio. IG: @andreamartinez.fit
Hey guys, I'm trying out a new mic so that the audio could be a little bit better. Hopefully this works out. If not, it's okay. I'll just switch it out. The only problem is I feel like this mic picks up everything, and I don't know, I just feel like it might end up being worse. So let's see if this works. Uh anyways. Um, I'm excited for today's episode. You're definitely gonna want to stay until the end. Okay. Very exciting news at the end. But today's episode is gonna be all about why knowing what to do was never the problem. And essentially why knowing what to do is not enough. And the reason that I even mentioned this is because I feel like for the most part, we all generally have a good idea of how to get in shape. I'm not saying like you know everything, right? But if you were to ask somebody that doesn't really work out at all how to get in shape, they would say, Oh, you work out, oh, you eat healthy. So for the most part, they know what to do, right? And with everything that you see online now, you know that you should be eating more protein, you know that you should be lifting, you know that you should be consistent, you've seen all the posts, you've seen all the reels, you've saved meal plans that you've found online, you have all the information. So why isn't anything changing? And the reason why is because knowing what to do and actually doing it are completely different things, and nobody talks about the gap in between. Information is not the missing piece. We live in an era where we have the most information at our fingertips. Every diet that's ever existed, every workout plan that's ever existed, and every macro calculator is literally a Google search away. You could even use AI at this point. Yet so many women still feel super stuck, super frustrated, and like something's wrong with them. The problem isn't that you don't have enough information or that you don't know enough, it's what happens after you have this information. And I like to call this the consistency hurdle because I feel like it takes a while to build up your consistency and to feel confident that you can be consistent. And the issue a lot of the times is that most women can only stay consistent for like a couple weeks and then they feel unmotivated and quit. They might even be consistent for a month, but most people end up quitting before they can actually even see results because they get to the point where they feel like they're being consistent enough and they want the results to be instant, but it's not instant. It takes time, it takes repetition, it takes a lot of change, really. It you have to change your habits, you have to change your identity. I'm definitely gonna get into this into in a later episode, but anyways, just to get back on topic, staying in that routine long enough to see results, this is where most people fall off. And I mean, this is what we talked about in the last episode: how you can be doing everything right, and you don't, you know, maybe to you, you don't see any visible changes on the outside, but a lot of things are changing on the inside, the outside is just a lagging indicator that things are working, and a lot of people can't get over this part, like they just can't get over that consistency hurdle. For a lot of women, this is where it all falls apart, but she doesn't blame the plan, she blames herself. She blames herself because she's not disciplined enough or not motivated enough, or maybe she's just not built for this, and she imagines that oh, maybe I just can't have that physique that I want. But the reality is that you can when you have that negative self-talk. I just want you to remember that that's not true. You are capable of so so so many things. I'm sure you've heard the phrasing, you can do anything you set your mind to, and it's literally the truth. I I know it sounds cheesy or you know, like big dream talk, but you really can achieve whatever you want. The next time that you try to convince yourself that you're just not built for this, that's not true. You've just never had the support that you need to stay in it through the part where it looks like nothing's working yet. I want to talk a little bit about identity. We will get into this a lot deeper in a later episode, but the identity piece is the real answer here. You don't just need a plan. Anyone can get a plan. Okay. What you need is to become the kind of woman who follows through. That right there, that's an identity shift. And it doesn't happen by reading somebody's post or downloading another random free guide that you saw on TikTok or Instagram or whatever, it takes a lot of reframing, and this reframing happens in your mind. When you envision that version of yourself, for example, let's say that you're shredded as fuck. When you imagine that version of yourself that's shredded as fuck a year from now, does that version of yourself skip the gym? No. So why do you skip the gym right now? Why is it okay for this version of you to skip the gym, eat like shit, and forgive yourself for it? Like, why do you think that's okay right now? The version of you a year from now or two years from now, who has her dream body, she wouldn't do that shit. So why do you allow yourself to do it now? The way that you get to that dream body is by embodying those habits right now. Envision that version of yourself. What would she do? And build backwards from that. Start building those habits to get to that version and identify as that version. Just so you know, it's not gonna happen overnight, okay? It takes a lot of work, it takes repetition, it takes accountability, and it takes someone holding the standard with you until you can hold it for yourself. And that's what coaching actually is. Information tells you what to do. But coaching helps you build the identity of a person who does that. There's a difference between knowing your macros and actually hitting them consistently for 12 weeks. There's a difference between knowing that you should lift and actually showing up even when you don't feel like it. That difference is support, it's structure, and it's somebody who won't let you talk yourself out of it. That is coaching. Once a year in the summertime, I take one woman through a couple weeks of full fitness and nutrition coaching completely for free. Last year in the summer, I did it for six weeks. This year, I'm doing 12 full weeks of coaching for one of you guys. I'm super excited about this. It is super, super easy to enter. You just have to fill out my scholarship application. I believe that the right woman, given the right structure and support, can completely change her relationship with her body in the next 12 weeks. I only have one spot. I only open this once a year in the summertime, and this is it. If your goal is to lose fat and build muscle, get toned, and build yourself some nice glutes, but also you find that you know exactly what you should be doing and still not doing it, then you're exactly who this is for. The link is gonna be in my Instagram bio. My Instagram is Andrea Martinez.fit. Go ahead and check out that link in my Instagram bio. It's gonna be the first application that you see under Summer Body Scholarship. As always, I hope you learned something today. And if you're gonna be applying to the scholarship, I wish you the best of luck. Bye.
