Hello. You’ve reached No Country for Hot Girls. We can’t come to the phone right now because we’re busy turning minor observations into full-scale investigations.

This week: heatwave behaviour, the politics of complaining, why living in London is basically a communal experience, and whether friendship is actually the secret to life.

We also get into celebrity chaos, relationship icks, reality TV updates, questionable internet research methods, and an unnecessarily detailed deep dive into The Strokes’ drama.

Expect conspiracies, culture, gossip, bad takes, strong opinions, and several moments that probably should’ve stayed in the group chat.

Please leave a message after the tone.

Hello. You've reached No Country for Hot Girls Podcast. We can't come to the phone right now. Because we have better things to do. I actually was thinking about that literally yesterday. I was like, how I complain? No, the amount I complain. And I was like, I don't even think about it anymore because it's so nature. No, but you don't you the thing that's annoying is that you'll complain and then you'll apologize profusely for complaining. And I'm like, just complain. It's fine. Like that's what I'm here for. I'm like, don't be sorry that you are. But because you know there's like some people who are just like so positive. Yeah, but like there's some people who complain and they're like a drain, but you're not like that at all. Like you you are the opposite of a drain. Oh my god. No, you are. You are. You fill people's cups up. So it's not like it's not at all like a drain. So you have to just like get that out of your head. Not like the vampire and the vampire Colin Robinson. Doing what we do in the shadows. Such a good TV, okay. That's literally one of the best characters ever invented. It's so good. I wonder if people know about that. Yeah, but what we do in the shadows. Yeah. Some people think it's really stupid. I once showed it to our friend Gemma, and she was like, What is this like weird vampire show? And I was like, honestly, just give it a go. Give it a go. But Colin is like a um, what is he called? An energy vampire. And he's just like a really boring. He basically feeds on people by boring you and like takes all that energy. That's such a good idea. My sister's got one of her friends on her phone, it's Colin Robinson, and I was like, Does she know who Colin Robinson is? And she was like, No. It's like, you're so rude. Oh dear, that's God. But anyway, how are you enjoying the heat wave? I am loving it. Um, because I love the heat. Really? It's not like it's muggy though, it's like quite like a dry heat. That's true, that's true. That's true. As long as it's dry and there's a bit of a breeze, it's okay. Yeah. And got the fan out, you know. I'd be alright if I had a fan. Yeah, if you have a fan, it's fine. Yeah. Sans fan, that's not good. Yeah. I was lying in my room last night and there's like a door to the balcony, and I was just lying with the door fully exposed to my bedroom all night. And I was like just going in and out of the room to the loo, completely naked. And the back of our house is like just like back to back flats. So like we're all up in each other's business. So, anyway, I think that's a good idea. Yeah, the flats opposite us is lots of topolis at the moment. Oh. Yeah. Um, just like cooking and stuff, because they're a kitchen, like, and we see them from the living room. Yeah. It's quite funny. What do you think about that? Well, Pete, you do what you want, your flat. No, for sure, but like living in London, I feel like you've just got no privacy what's there. You don't, you really don't. But that's you know, just something you put up with there. We're basically just a commune at this stage. Do you remember when we talked about making our own commune? Yeah. And we were like, it would have like some lonely nice shops, and some nice cafe, some good coffee. That would be so nice. I definitely want to do that. There are people doing that, I think. Like in women communes. Yeah. But like my mum was saying the other day, she's 60, and she was like, her and her best friend were talking, and they were like, when we're 75, her and her husband, Trevor, she's gonna force him to maybe move in with my mother. That would actually kind of be the dream, wouldn't it? No, but I genuinely don't feel like that's that weird. Obviously, when you have kids, it's a bit harder. Yeah. But let's say the kids fuck off. Yeah, yeah, yeah. When you're like older and you're humbered by yeah, and rather than having going to a I don't know, like a care home or whatever, it's like before you get to that stage, like live in a try and enjoy a bit more the freedom again. The community spirit, you know, you can have never have I ever on a Friday night, like a sherry. You could start a pop car. No, I feel like that's the secret to like not dying. Yeah. Community. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But we saw each other just last night. Yes, indeed. And um, you're not hungover. No, I'm actually not. I'm fine. We were at Friend's birthday in Peckham, and we had a very interesting conversation with that guy, Jasper. Yeah. And what was he saying? He was like a Freemason or something. He was quite a cool guy, actually. Yeah, he was. He had sick his own set building company. Yeah, and he was like, basically, he found out about some guy who had a free studio, that was it. Set building studio bought for him by a couple of Freemasons. Yeah. So he was like, Well, I'm gonna try to granddad or something, something like that. He had some kind of connection to it. His granddad was a Freemason, and so he was like, Well, I've got an inn. So then he by hook or by crook found some connection, and then basically had this meeting with this old man who was basically like, Yeah, like you fit the bill, come on in. And then do you remember what he was saying about the ceremony? Yeah, that was Sandra Culty. Yeah, you meet at this lodge in the middle of nowhere, actually, not in the middle of nowhere, in like central London, literally in some fancy building. You're right, they put a blindfold on you and then they put a noose around your neck, a dagger to your chest. Yeah, then you have to go and kneel in front of like a circle of masons and they put a dagger to your chest, and you have to swear on the Bible. It's fucking crazy. And you were saying like the people who were there were like heads of industries in like London. Yeah, a lot of police. Yeah. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but there is definitely an underworld of power. 100%. But it's like the film One Battle After Another, where they had that whole really racist underworld group. Do you mean that was like what it was about? It's like really weird. And I was like, this office probably exists, which is so scary. There's definitely so much of that going on that we literally don't even. I mean, we've just had the whole Epstein files, like, yeah, I know, you know, we could, yeah, let's not get into it. No, I know, but sorry, last thing on them, like really weird groups. There was like got really obsessed with this society that was like around in the 1700s, like a while ago. It was called the Hells, I want to call it like Hellfire Club. The Hellfire Club, that was it. And it was like all of these Pochiristos, basically, obviously men, no women. And one of them had this castle in somewhere in like Warwickshire, I think. And basically they had this underground case, and they basically would go there and have these rituals where they'd essentially bring women and do fucked up things and like all shag. And one of the people who came to this society was um Benjamin Franklin, the US president. Yeah, so like it's been happening for fucking years, but anyway, yeah, he he said he wasn't a Freemason anymore. So we said he technically still was. Oh really? He was just lapsed. Oh he was like, all they actually do is just drink. Did he get free shit? No, he's still on their WhatsApp chat apparently. Well, that just reads it. You can join a cult and not get what you wanted out of it. Yeah, but he was like, all they do is just drink and make misogynistic comments. Well, yeah, that's the daily life then. Yeah, there's actually so much going on this week. Or is it like me and Jules don't talk anymore? We just like send each other things on Instagram, which is like kind of depressing, and just like it. Yeah. Um, but we are trying to do slightly more research. Yeah. But by that, it's putting an article into Chat GPT and ask me to summarize. No, I did actually read Reddit for quite a long time. Yeah, Reddit's a good one to do, yeah. You get the inside goph. Yeah, you really do. Chat GPT basically just takes from Reddit. That's its like main source. No way, aren't they? Yeah. It scouts like all of Reddit stuff. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, okay. Yeah. Um, but you'll see it when you ask for things, it would be like, someone posted on this Reddit read this. Yeah, yeah, it's the link, isn't it? It's always Reddit. Yeah, exactly. Um the first thing that kind of cracked me up was the um the coke smuggling and the skims. Oh my god. There's Laurie Jarg, I mean he's an idiot, but like anyway, he got he got sentenced to 13 and a half years in prison for smuggling in seven million pounds of cocaine into Essex in a skims package. But the Kardashians in fact didn't do this whole game where they're like, we are not involved, and then the post was like keeping up with the cartel, it was really good. I think it was the St. Hoa's post. It was really good. So good. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if they were involved. I know they're not, but like when they're I mean they're running out of industries to run. I don't know what he means. Like beauty, underwear, crap. No, like they've got drinks covered, they've got like popcorn. Where else are they gonna go? Next obvious trajectory. Um, anyway, so he's going to prison. So he only got paid like 4,000 pounds. Oh bless him. 4,000 euros or something. I know, and I'm like, half worth it. Oh my god. Also, like speaking of the Kardashians, um, there's been so many memes that I've been looking at this week about like all the Oscar winners. Did you see that Chloe Kardashian is apparently going on dates with Michael B. Jordan? Also, do you know what's really fucking me off? How people are just doing like AI images now, so you don't know what's like real paparazzi. And I'm like, let the paparazzi do their job. Yeah. It's you're taking their jobs. You're taking you're taking the paparazzi's jobs. Um AI's taking the paperzi. They're struggling out. But it's like the poor celebrities like have to like get chased for paparazzi, and now that's the least of their problems. I know. They now they can't even disapprove that something's not real because it's just like an AI image of them. Anyways, there was an AI image of like Chloe and Mike B. Jordan holding hands, and I was like, guys, come on. Uh did you see Kylie Jenner commented daddy? Yeah. Fuck crap me out. She really knows how to work social media. But why did she write daddy? Just I think to like, I think she just does recrams of like Yeah, sorry, I'm such grandma. And what is in like, what does it mean? No, I know what it means, but I was kind of like, is it because he's like with that purpose? No, just as in, like, because she's saying he's hot. Oh, just like she's like, Oh, that's my man, like right, okay. Is it because he's with a dad? Or like sorry, I'm literally not down with the kids. Um no, I'm I'm down with the hellfire platform. Kind of like saucy like comment right boyfriends. Okay, yeah. So he was basically um in a video like walking into a basketball game. Yeah. So everyone's now up in arms because they oppose and move basketball games to the NBA players to the Oscar winners, yeah. Um, and like the girls on TikTok and are not having any of it. They're like, guys, like just give us a chance. You know who would like I know, but it's just hilarious how it's like they've just moved on maps, like Kendall's now with Jacob. I know it is it is quite funny, it's like a whole brand. The brand become classier now. As they become classier, now they've moved on to like the academy. Yeah, it's funny. Um, I did see pictures of Kendall and Jacob the other day, and it like did something to my soul. I was like, but I'm gonna know. I was just like, God, they're like really that couple. Yeah, I just yeah. I don't know. I just need to just be happy for them. I know, but I just do think that it would be a bit more just for me as like an as a completely objective observer. It would be more interesting if they got with someone a bit different, like or like you know, just go out with someone random. Like, you know when Bela Hadid went out with the cowboy guy. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, yeah, yeah. That would be fun. Oh, yeah. I thought she would quite like a cowboy because she's into her like horses, isn't she? Yeah. But yeah, no, that is um what to be very kimz with Lewis Hamilton. That's true, that's true. And he's shorter than her, I think. Might be. It's plausible. By the way, really quickly side note, I um I'm not gonna reveal my sources, but allegedly Margot Robbie hated him. Oh yeah, what was that? Yeah, I tried to get more info about this from my source that they claimed to not remember, and I was like, sure. Anyway, yeah, apparently they actually didn't like it. There are some videos of him now going towards his stuff, and they were like, You fancy yourself so much. Yeah, oh god, yeah. Well, I had got ick from ick of it from Wuthering Heights, but then it's kind of come back now. I've gone over it. But sometimes you can't get back from the ick. Sometimes you can't, but I have. Yeah, yeah. Like you've ever been able to get over the ick in an actual relationship. No, it's impossible. It's clinically impossible. It should be studied. No, it has. Oh, has it? Yeah, icks have been studied. Yeah, they actually have it. Because I literally researched it. They did like a whole article about it. Oh, right. But apparently, an ick is actually a you problem. Well, I know, and I was like, fuck you, I brought personally attacked. But apparently it's basically your shadow self, it's your shadow recognizing something in them that you don't like about yourself. Oh, really? And it's I would say it's more like your brain protecting you or like finding a reason. Like it's basically saying this isn't the person, like your person. So, like I'm thinking of something really niche and random that you're gonna like hate to get to have a reason to get out of it. I think that's for people with a healthy attachment style. The people who are like like me who are fucking all over the stuff. Is in like find excuses. So, like for you and your ick is like they just make so much money and they're really kind and lovely. Basically, exactly, and you're like, it's just so performative, like it's disgusting. That's you self-savaging. I see that makes so much sense. Or like, you know, when you know, like when someone's like running for the bus and it's like such an ick, yeah, but like it's so ridiculous. Like that, if you ended your relationship, if you didn't fancy like that, then it's a you that is true because yeah, and also like if you genuinely like fancy someone and love someone, like you can get over some icks. Yeah, what are some random icks that you have? I'm trying to think. Wait, you might have more that come to mind first. Oh, my friend Dulcie has an entire spreadsheet. Does she? Oh my god. I really hate men in jorts. That's an ick for me. Oh yeah, no socks, trainers or any shoe, but um a sandal's fine, obviously. But like, yeah, no socks is a big one. And even short socks as well. Yeah, like a trainer sock. Actually, maybe prefer no sock than a trainer sock, or sock. Okay, this is a huge ick for me. If they don't change their sheets every week, min okay, minimum every other week. I think every two weeks is fine for sheets. Every every two weeks, minimum. I've gone out with some guys who haven't changed for months. That's disgusting. And they thought it was normal, couldn't compute that it wasn't okay. And you know when you get into a bed and it's like musty. Yeah, and you probably thought they were just like a poet or something like that. Yeah, no, I was like sniffing the sheets. I'm like, oh shit, my new purpose. No, I'm saying to be fair, that was like quite a valid one. I feel like another rick is like when they care too much about their appearance. Hello. You've reached the No Country for Hot Girls podcast. Please leave a message after the tone. Our friend Flo's just walked in and is gonna tell uh reel off the mix. Reel them all, okay. I'd have to get closer to the line. Oh okay, like right in. Yeah. No, no, no, no. I get it.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_00

That's like karaoke. Um, icks, icks. What's what's my favourite ick? I think it's a real ick just in general when people run for the tube and then it doesn't close. And they're like huffing and puffing, and then they're like pretending they were just like putting in a little jog tongue, but they like really thought it was gonna and then it literally is at a red signal. That's really embarrassing. And they like look too keen to like travel. Yeah, that's a big one at like Kennington. Yeah, and you runs Virginia, yeah. It's like or when they like hold the door and then like it's like and they're holding it so they get their friend in, and then it's like stuck at a signal. No, the worst is when they get their bag stuck in the door. What is another ick? I find I sometimes find shoes like just the thought that someone's picked out their shoes really icky. Like the fact that a boy has sat down and been like, I'm gonna wear these shoes. You put just shoes, it's a bit cringe. I know you have to wear shoes, but they're just it's just like sometimes if you want to think someone's really sweet, you just like look at their shoes and you're like, Oh, you picked those. Or like I find it a real ick when they put the like keys on their belt, like a janitor. Oh yeah. Like fine if you're a janitor, but yeah. That's just that's a smighty sense. Okay, that'll get things play. Little segment there. But it's the same similar vein to the icks, but we were saying that like a green flag of a guy is basically if they either like don't have an Instagram or they have an Instagram and it's just really bad. But if they have like a good Instagram that's like really curated, that's a red flag. And you just know that they are in a run club. It's the same thing as like you're obsessed with running. Must get over that. This an avid cyclist. I'm sorry. I'm just like labelling my boyfriend's creates. But Oli isn't like his Instagram isn't like curated. No, he's his Instagram is normal, it's like a normal boy Instagram. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's like you know those guys who are trying to be like influencers, and it's like no, isn't it? No, and it's the same thing of an echo like you've made a like choice to put that photo of yourself up there. Do you know what I mean? When you're kind of looking down at the floor and like it kind of pents it away with a slight pouch. It's like your thing, your article you did about um airspace boys. It is basically that. Airspace men. Yeah, airspace men, that's it. Um, okay, well, let's do our Scamander update. Yeah. Which the reunion is next week for part one, and then there'll be partially the week after, and then what the hell are we gonna do after that? I don't know. Um, but Jules and Flo are hosting a reunion viewing next Wednesday here, and um, we need to live stream Maya from Milan. Yeah, a friend of the pod, I would say. And um, you're doing some some in their house theme, the snacks. Yeah, I was cracking up at the famous amount of chips. Well, they were talking about what food they always bring, and Lindsay was like, you know, my famous pineapple upside down cake. She's one of the characters. And I'm like, why would you bring that to a weekend of drinking and partying? Well, what elder snacks are you do? Well, you're not doing pineapple land gate. Listen, I've got to work. Maybe I'll buy some pineapple. Maybe. Yeah. But so Amanda, when they were talking about that, apparently she's quite famous for bringing her chip and dip, basically, with just some swag and some crisp. So that can be arranged. And Play's gone above and beyond to basically try and source some lover boy, um, which is Amanda's husband's uh seltzer brand. Yeah, but unfortunately, we've hit a wall and it's in it's impossible to those bugs. Oh damn it. Yeah, okay. Also, I was cracking up when it was like we were saying, can you get one lover boy? And I was like, What are we gonna do all just like take a sip from it? So, yeah, so we're doing that. So we don't really have a scammander update this week. So on to the much more serious topics. Oh wait, I actually saw a really funny question I wanted to ask you on TikTok. Um it really cracked me up. It was um if you could have would if you could have world peace or a list of everyone who's ever had a crush on you, what would you pick? Oh my god, that's really tough. I was like, I know you'll pick the list. I have to pick world peace. I have to pick world peace. You know what I'm like. It'd be quite good to know though, because there would be some random people. Oh my god, I would love to know. Can you imagine? I know, so good. What if it was like your dad? Oh my god. I'm joking, that's all right. Again, I think you should talk talk us through the strokes drama, which I know nothing about. Okay. Black a lot. I can say. Let me get out my my nose. So because this, my friend, is a long and arduous saga. Let's let's not make it too long and arduous. Okay, so fine. So the strokes, okay. So first things first, you know the strokes, right? Yeah, obviously. I'm going to see again in autumn. Oh, yes, of course. So, anyway, they've Form in 1998. Obviously, not hard in this. Don't worry, no more speed through. They're all bricked boys basically. So um I actually didn't know that. Well, there we go. There we go. Yeah. So Julian's dad basically started elite models. Yeah, so he was like a billionaire. So he was a Nepo baby. Yeah, yeah, full Neppo. Um, and he was he's actually in the Epstein Files, his dad. And so Julian and uh I think it's a few of them basically meet at this really elite secondary school in New York called like Dwight College. Then Julian gets shipped off to boarding school in Switzerland, where he meets Albert Hammond Jr. And uh Albert Hammond Jr.'s dad is a seriously famous Gibraltar musician. I looked him up and I was like, who the hell is this guy? But apparently he's like a superstar called Albert Hammond. Okay. Um anyway, and so they start this band, everyone's kind of saying they're these rich kids, but obviously they produce their first album, Is This It? And it goes strathic. Everyone's obsessed with it, they're living their best lives. But then they get quite into drugs, and they're basically they're a hot mess, especially Julian. So Julian's kind of thrashing around, he's literally getting interviewed by all of these various um journalists, and he's like snorting literally heroin in front of them, whilst also telling people that heroin's really fire at you. With me a cool rock star, yeah. Anyway, so they're getting all the success, they go to England and they're even more successful than in America. They completely blow up, they start making money. At this point, they're like 21, so they're flailing about. Um, anyway, then a couple years go by, they release a couple more albums, they're not as successful as this year, and this is when the cracks start to appear. So at this point Oh, I thought it was this is when the crack comes in. Well, yeah, yeah. So Albert Hamid Jr. becomes like a full drug addict, like he's like injecting heroin, crack, like everything. He also converts to Judaism because one of his fan mate, Nick, is Jewish and didn't want him to be the only Jewish guy in the band, so it's quite sweet, I suppose. Um, and then Julian's like wasted turning up to interviews, belligerently drunk, one second hugging and kissing the interview, interviewer, and the next second he's basically telling them he hates them. Okay, then it goes a bit crazy. They all start hating each other. Everyone hates Julian, basically, because he's the front man, but also he's writing all of the lyrics, he's controlling all the music. So they become more and more resentful of him. When gave away any more control. Exactly. Exactly. So by like 2010, they're on their kind of fifth album. At this point, they literally hate each other. Yeah. I don't even know why they bothered recording this album at angles, but it was really shit anyway. But they refuse to even be in the same room with each other. They're sending their bits, like their musical bits, via Zoom.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so like via email and like via Zoom. Um, there's like so much tension, everything's going crazy. Kind of at this point, like Julian goes sober, and so does Albert Ham Jr. They have to have like um maybe a year before they have like a massive intervention. Um, they both go sober. Julian says that he felt hung over for two years.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Then like 2014 to 2020, they all start doing their own stuff. And at this point, people think that they've broken up. So they technically not broken broken up. I don't know. So they'll they've just got a new album out. No, I know they're borrowing. Oh, yes, sorry. So you're going to see them. Oh wait for the good vibes, yeah. So this is when it gets even worse. So basically, they're not they start recording a new album to everyone's like shock. This is like in 2020 with Rick Ruby. Yeah, I remember that one. Is that the one with the adults are talking? Yeah. Yeah, exactly. Right. So this album actually does surprisingly well. And and it got Grammy, it will want a Grammy. So everyone thinks they're kind of back, but they keep doing interviews basically saying we're we're not like friends with each other, but we can make music together. Then Abraham Jr. gets divorced because he had loads of affairs. Julian, this is like kind of in the last like five years. Julian gets called out because he's caught like DMing loads of like 19-year-olds. Okay, I want to say allegedly hair so. This is the most like dual story ever, just like the random like segments of like context that I'm like, is this gonna connect something? It will, it will, it will. Then Albert Hammond Jr. last year starts going out with this British model, Sarah Holt. She's she's beautiful. She gets pregnant, they're like in loads of campaigns together. Then just before she gives birth, she finds out that he's been cheating on her, and also that he'd been DMing like a 17-year-old. Oh no, I want to say allegedly here again because I don't know if it's true. But I don't know if they knew their age or anything, but obviously he's cheating on her. So they break up, she's had to put a post out being like, I'm so sad, whatever. So then they basically Julian goes on a podcast and is like, um, yeah, like I love my three bandmates, but there's obviously five of them. And he was like, ha ha, sorry, Nick, only joking. So apparently Nick hates Julian. So now they finally release this new album. This is the end. And they go on tour, everyone's like, okay, maybe they're back, you know, they're doing okay. You know, the the co-thatter performance goes really well. And then basically, Nick has just announced last week that he's temporarily taking a break from the rest of the tour. Oh no. Yeah, so essentially, yeah, I think he's basically been like, fuck you, I'm not doing anymore. Shit. Well, TVC I will see then. Well, you might, but only four of us. It just feels like it's part parcel now of bands like just kind of hating each other. But also, it's like, why are you stringing it along still? Like, just give it up. I guess they're just being paid. Yeah, I actually, this is bad. I actually haven't listened to any me. Have they got like a new album out? Yeah. I haven't listened to it. I don't think that's that bad. I haven't listened to it either. No, I know, but I'm going to see them. But I'm obviously going to see them because I just like want to hear the old stuff. Yeah, obviously. I told you this millions of times, but I used to have a life-sized poster of Pangers over my bed. And I remember I saw them at Isle of White Festival because when I was 16, and every single pause there wasn't music, I would just roar. I promised the audience. I actually was in love with it. No, I know you were. I knew. But anyway, no longer. I think your room still has the blue-tack marks where I had that taste. I had Eminem. That's quite sexy. Life size restaurant at time. That was your type for a very long time as well. Um, that and um Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow. I literally remember going to Woolworths with like friends from primary school, and like you either pick the Orlando Bloom one or the Johnny Depp stuff. Oh dear. Um, okay, so that's the Strokes drama. Yeah. But there's bigger drama in the world, isn't there? There is actually more sad stuff. You know, Everlane, that company. Yeah. They are like a sustainable like fashion brand, and they've been acquired by Sheen, the Chinese hyperfast fashion brand, which is just so crazy. Um, they market themselves as such a sustainable retailer. And they also did this whole thing where they were really transparent with all their supply chains and they would regularly post all of their audits and how much they paid workers and their environmental impact, like all that kind of stuff. And Sheen has now bought them. And the CEO has framed it as like Sheen's given us the money to be able to still do all of those things, like live true to all of those grand values and impacts um and like philosophies and stuff. But obviously, for a consumer who wants to shop at Everlane for the sustainability factor, they're now not going to trust them if like Sheen is bought them, which is just crazy. Also, Sheen is just so fucked up. They apparently um in one year their emissions went up 23%, which to put it into perspective, that's like the total of like all of Gap's emissions. And it's because they don't do large bulk ocean shipping or anything, they just do air freight to directly to customers. What? How crazy is that? So every piece of clothing yeah, goes on the plane directly to you. That's in insane. I know. You'd think that that would be like banned at this stage. Yeah, so they package up all individual orders at their like warehouse and then in China, and then they find them directly to consumers. So they have no inventory costs or anything, and they just but obviously the global impact on the environment is so high. I was reading an article, which was quite interesting because they were saying it's shows that you can't buy like sustainability. The only way that the fashion industry is just never going to be able to prove that they're sustainable unless there's like actual laws in place, and it's not just brands basically being like, look what we do, because like that we spend the money doing this and we don't minimize cost of doing this, and that's why we're sustainable. And actually, you just can't do that nowadays, it just has to come from the government, it has to have like laws in place that everyone has to follow. Why on earth have they not done that? Yes, it's just really difficult, like when it's these huge companies, but Sheen in particular is not even a fast fashion brand, they call it a hyper fast fashion brand. They have like thousands and thousands of styles like every single day, yeah. Which is just on a whole other level. Yeah, it's crazy. It really freaked me out. Yeah, it's also just so sad, isn't it? That like even these companies who are trying to make a difference, ultimately it's just money is the most important thing. And also, Sheen is gonna benefit from it more because they are gonna reach a different audience, whereas Evelyn's not gonna benefit from that. But I feel like that'll be the end of Evelyn. Yeah, it's the end of Evelyn, really. Exactly. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, that's extremely sad. I know, isn't it? Um, I mean, there's been quite a lot of sad stuff, really. There's also been the Married at First Sight saga. I know Channel 4 pulled all of their episodes because I don't know how I mean you watched the documentary, so you probably know more, but one person came out and said that they were raped on the show. Yeah, two anonymous women and one woman who was seen on camera. The two women who were anonymous basically were raped on the show and they'd gone to the welfare team. Is this the UK one? UK, yeah, exactly. So they'd gone to the welfare team and they told the welfare team, and essentially not much was done about it. I think that they did try, like sent them to therapists and tried to figure out situations, but their storyline was never pulled from the final editing. How do you go is this? I don't actually know because I'm not I'm not really a maths, a maths, as um as so many people are. But one woman was saying that um, like one of her boundaries was like, don't come inside me, and then this guy came inside her without her permission. And she told again the welfare team, and then again it was kind of brushed over because they were like, I thought you said it was fine. So eventually, just before the Panorama documentary came out, channel four was basically saying, like, we did everything we could, and then literally the day before the panorama interview came out, they deleted all of the episodes, so they obviously, you know, were panicking. And then the head of channel four came out literally minutes after and did like a statement being like, you know, we're investigating, we're doing an inquest, blah, blah, blah. But then I just saw today that there's been people now coming out from maths, Australia as well. Really? I knew it. One woman so far. But yeah, maths started out as very much a kind of reality concept that was much more, you know, formulaic. There wasn't as high stakes. What do you mean? So, for example, you go and you live together, right? And you share a bed with someone you don't know. I see. And what would they have done? What was it like the old did they not do that in originally? There wasn't as much of an emphasis on drama. Right. So they basically are putting that like to get the better drama, they're putting them in situations that that's be more uncomfortable. Exactly. But not necessarily to have like anyone be uncomfortable, but like to court to like create good to do. Yeah, yeah. So, for example, loads of people have been coming out, and as lawyers and commentators have been saying it's obviously such an unsafe format to have like two complete strangers who've never met get married, then have to share a bed. And because you're married, you feel more pressure to like act like you're married, but ultimately you're strangers. Totally. And also it's behind closed doors, like no one can see what's happening. I mean, obviously, lots of people who go on that are obviously going on it to just be on reality TV, no, rather than like find someone. 100%, yeah. Yeah, but anyway, so that's dark. Yeah, that is really dark. But yeah, I kind of feel like maybe that's the end of maths. Also, do you remember that? Mass, surely. What was that lady called? The um the really nice woman. Oh, yeah, she died. That was really sad. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I feel like that's basically. Have we listened to um I don't know if he's on maths actually, the guy who's on Celebs Go Dating? Yeah and he has like a podcast. Yes, yeah, but he is on maths. Yeah. Is he on maths? Yeah. Oh my god, who was on Celebs Go Dating? The girl from Supernanny. Do you remember that girl? She was called Megan. So do you remember there was like a viral supernanny episode where she bit the super nanny and she um nine-year-old, here we go, nine-year-old girl who bit super nanny Joe Frog from viral episode. And she was like she went viral, she was really crazy. No, I don't remember that. Oh god, I'm dying. Yeah, and she goes on a date with like Jane Haskell, a professional rugby brother. Yeah, but yeah, she bit the supernanny, and now she's all grown up and she was on a celebske dating. Not as a celeb, as like a date to a right, okay. I got you. I thought, I thought they were like, but how like slim pickings. No, no, no. But it really, it really tickled me. I was like, what the hell is going on? What I was gonna say was, have you listened to his podcast? I actually haven't listened to any of his podcasts, but he gets quite good people on it. Um, yeah, he does. I've actually heard it and I actually found it really interesting. Like obviously my mum's. He's a good talker. Yeah, and he I feel like he also just seems like a really nice guy. He does, yeah. He's done well. I'm trying to search his name. What the hell is his name? Paul. Just doing some background research. Paul Paul Brunson. Yeah, he's really interesting. He talks loads about his own relationship and like, yeah. I do quite like sometimes a relationship podcast. I yeah. No, not a fan. I don't think I've what what constitutes a really is this a relationship podcast? Yeah, our relationship is commander. What makes it I were just talking about like are you? Or like could you be dating a sociopath? Yeah, that kind of thing. The answer is yes, it's really possible. Good news. It's highly likely. Let me check his Instagram. Yeah. Obviously, there's this Katie Price husband drama, which is so confusing, but I feel like it was much just PPR and she's like in on it all. Do you actually think that? Because that is crazy. I don't know, but people are making jokes about it. I saw Fat Tony. Do you see Fat Tony's meme? Fat Tony did a meme, basically like pretending that he was trying to help in the search. I'll post it. It was really funny. Um, the other thing I saw on Instagram or on social media was that made me laugh was um Jeff Bezos saying that like it won't help anyone if he pays more tax. He was like, but then went on to be like, Why should a nurse in Queens pay any tax? And it's like, what are you talking about? Like if she doesn't, then it's got gonna come from some route. I agree with you, she shouldn't have like you should. It was such a weird interview. It was like, why are you trying to also like the way his face does not move from like all of the Botox he's got? He looks really weird. That's a Nick, men with Botox. Yeah, it's so fair. But the whole interview is just so bizarre. Like, why are you trying to cosplay as like I mean, I know you said that he actually was a big democracy type of guy. I don't know if he was, I might have overrides that when Jules was like avidly defending India. Um no, but I mean he really was trying to cosplay as that, and it was really bizarre. But then also being like, but please don't tax me, and also just being like, I always have to work with every president. It's like oh fuck off, get it. Didn't he also um get asked about the Washington Post? Yeah, he did. What did he say? Oh, he said it had to be a profitable newspaper, and to do that, these decisions had to be made. And the interviewer was like, Some people would argue that it doesn't actually need to be profitable because it's trying to deliver like real the truth, yeah, exactly. Well, also part of the reason why it's not profitable is because so many people unsubscribed after he basically went for Trump in the election. So they lost millions of subscribers. Oh, actually, that was what he said. He was like, every business should be good enough that someone would pay for the product, basically being like, if the people aren't paying for it, then the product's not good enough, which is just obviously just a huge capitalist mindset. But also, it's like such a heritage newspaper that's broken so many political stories and scandals over the years from like Watergate, like various other things, and it's only since he became the owner that it's now gone downhill. So it's like someone's the common denominator here. His Yuhan's Yuhan, it's not the product. Yeah, it's also the interview was like in front of his rocket ship. Stop. Are you joking? I'm pretty sure it was. Oh I was like, how is this man sat in front of his rocket talking about how he shouldn't get taxed anyway? I need to just like fat check that. It was like in his factory. His rocket factory. His rocket factory. If that's not a case of small man syndrome, then I don't know what the fuck is. No, it was so crazy. Did you know that back in the day millionaires used to be like used to think it was their duty in life to basically be really charitable? Because it was like very much like Christian values, and they believed that they were given that money by God in order to help people. Can you imagine any billionaires doing that now? Jesus. Um, I can't fact-check it, but allegedly it was in front of his rocket. It's in some kind of warehouse type of thing with lots of like big metal things in the background. So it could be a rocket, could be, I don't know, maybe it was just his Amazon warehouse. Oh God. I think we need to wrap up. Yeah, I think. I feel like I'm scared that I've said quite a lot of libelous things. Don't see us. I don't see us now. Oh, dear Amy, I'm sweating.
