The girls are girling, the Love Island boys are struggling, and we're living for the drama. This week we're diving into the best moments from the villa, reliving Jersey Shore's most chaotic era, mourning the smoking area, debating the UK social media ban, and chatting AI, Paris Fashion Week, Louis Vuitton's controversial tidal wave, Sam Altman's upcoming biopic, and why French men might just be too intellectual for their own good. Pop culture, internet chaos and plenty of tangents-as always.

SPEAKER_02

Hello.

SPEAKER_04

Hi.

SPEAKER_02

Hello. Special intro. We've got a special intro. We're live and direct from Milan. Well special because I'm in at this time. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And you're with your number one fan, my lord. We are with the infamous My Lord in a lair in Milan. How are you feeling?

SPEAKER_03

Excited to be on the pod, to be honest. Um yeah, and excited for the next few days of apparols and a lot of laughs.

SPEAKER_02

We've had to line our stomach because I had such bad PTSD on the way here. It's like, whatever happens, I can't order a spagliato. I have to eat. I can't be massaging anyone's head. Like, we can't be doing this again. But luckily, Hannah's here is like a very sensible mediator.

SPEAKER_00

Nice little buffer. Um, but yeah, we're here in Milan. What are we talking about this week?

SPEAKER_02

We've got a great episode. Well, Hannah's delving into the Love Island law. You guys are watching, aren't you? Yeah, I love it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

So that was yes. Um we've got Love Island Law, we've got Honesty Boxes, we've got um, what else do we have? Some stuff that we had to take out because Chat GPT said we would get sued. Yep. It was all about Connor's story. It was literally about 10 minutes about Connor's story. A story that I told Hannah with like such confidence that I was like, it's a hundred percent a fact. I said allegedly like a hundred times. Yeah. But then I googled it and there was not a crumb of evidence that this story was true. So I'm starting to think I just made it up. I don't but anyway, long story short, it's not in it.

SPEAKER_00

Jules also talked to us about the hot French men. Yeah. And how someone tried to deter her saying that they were too philosophical, but didn't realise that that was exactly what she loves.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that's my cat there.

SPEAKER_00

So yeah, there's a little bit of dating, there's a little bit of pop culture, there's a little bit of reality TV, the usual stuff basically. Oh yeah, um, PSA is that we're taking a holiday.

SPEAKER_03

Special announcement. It's like people are gonna get excited.

SPEAKER_02

Guys, I know it's with deep regret that we have to inform you next week and the week after we're having a little hiatus, so don't go anywhere, we'll be back. Um, and we'll hand over to Maya for a closing message.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that's a lot of pressure.

SPEAKER_02

What do you want to what do you want to tell the fans?

SPEAKER_03

Um like Italian related advice. Smoking is cool. Keep doing it.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. Hello. You've reached no country for Hot Girls Podcast. We can't come to the phone right now. Because we have better things we could do. Hey. Hey, I missed you last week.

SPEAKER_00

You too. It felt like I hadn't done this for like a year. I was really sad to miss it, and now here I am again. So it's good.

SPEAKER_02

Oh well, it's a joy, it's a joy to be with you, my darling. Well, I mean, you haven't heard the last one, but it was chaotic. And at one point we were talking about true crime, and I was basically talking about all of the ways that how people murder people, and thank god I ran it through Claude because it was like, this is inciting murder, and I was like, Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

That's what I mean. It was like chaos. What do you mean?

SPEAKER_02

Were you what were you saying though? Well no, obviously, known as inciting murder, like none of us would ever do that. Obviously, I asked some stupid question, I was like, Would you rather be eaten alive or would you rather murder someone? And then everyone was like, obviously rather being eaten alive. And I was like, I'm surprised, Flo, because you love true crime. And she was like, That's a stereotype, blah blah blah blah blah. And I was like, but you know how all the best ways to murder people.

SPEAKER_00

Giving, yeah, just like giving an audience tips, which you're not doing. Okay, that's not our intention for this. It'd be quite dark if we moved from just spreading like vicious celebrity rumours to spreading murderous hints and tips. Oh my god. Bloody hell, it's so easy to get cancelled. Well, do you remember that episode we did where we tried to be slightly more highbrow and we were like, not ready for this? Both of us had like severe anxiety afterwards, like thinking about somebody's gonna go to jail or something. You're in London. How is it? Yeah, it's it's been hot, everyone's complaining so much, and I'm kind of just like, get over it, you know. Are you not minding it? Not that I'm not minding it, it's obviously really hot, but like I don't know, it's not like it's gonna be like this forever. So well, it might be with climate change, who knows? But um so actually taking all of it back. Have you not been watching my Instagram stories? I have, I have. I could tell Jules was like in a spiral about climate change because she kept putting up these like in like Instagram stories, like, what are we gonna do about it? Tyler like Greta Thunberg.

SPEAKER_02

I tagged Andy Bernaman was like, What are you gonna do about it, Andy?

SPEAKER_01

The poor guy's not even stepped into office yet, and you're already asking him to fix the world's problems.

SPEAKER_02

Or I mean he's talking the big talk. I'm like, come on, fucking cough up.

SPEAKER_00

I I know who he is, obviously, but I actually like don't know if I I probably have seen a picture of him, but I couldn't tell you what he looks like. But I'm guessing he's white, middle-aged, slightly balding.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I think he's got hair, but other than that, oh okay, fine. He's got glasses. Do you know what he's actually quite fair? I saw a bit saw well, he's okay looking, but I saw a picture of him when he was a student. I think he went to Cambridge or something.

SPEAKER_00

Being with your family too long in rural Italian countryside. Andy Burnham's quite fair. Actually, he's okay. Oh, that guy. Uh do you know who he is?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's been on the he's been on the scene for a while. You know how um Rachel Reeves and Kia Salmer were like trying to create growth and it didn't work. And so his idea is basically redistributing money into local government, so basically giving money to mayors instead of having central government like spend that money for them. And he claims that the north requires more money than the south, but the south is paying more money to like fix the problems, and he says that if you give more money to the local councils and mayors, they can fix those problems so that there's less of a disparity and people are like using less of their taxes to pay for other areas. It's worth a shot, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it doesn't sound like the worst idea I've ever heard. Giving people actual money that they need to fix their boroughs and towns. Yeah. Better move to the north. I know, I know. Or it'd be nice and cool as well. Yeah, probably. Um, there's a Geordie guy on Love Island, and he is so joked. He's called Tommy, and his line is that like he can't tell if he likes someone without kissing them. So he's just like snogging every girl. It's so good. I'm just like, you're obviously just such a player, but he's being so sincere about it. He's like, You've got to kiss someone to know like what you're doing. It's like you know for 30 seconds, like, come on.

SPEAKER_02

You just like planting snogs on all of these random girls.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, basically. And there's like a Scottish girl who was coupled up with who was getting annoyed because obviously he was just like snogging every other girl that was like coming in, of course. And she's so funny. So it was like they had this screaming match, and it was like Jaudy versus like Scottish, and she's so Scottish, like really thick accent. It's quite good TV this year.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I was gonna ask because you uh quite a few people have said it's good.

SPEAKER_00

So can you tell us what is I mean, nothing really like out of the ordinary, but I guess like one thing is that the girls are so the girls are girling, they're feminist icons, and I love it. It just makes the boys look so pathetic. They did this one challenge where they had cards and it had a rumour on it or something. It was like, you know, like I've cheated on an ex-boyfriend or ex-girlfriend or whatever, and the boys had to guess which girl it was, and the girls had to guess which boy it was. And when it was like the boys' time, the girls were like, I can't believe you would do that. That's disgusting. And then when it was the girls and it was something similar, they just were like giggling, which like whatever. You know, when they come out like at night, all like dressed up, and the boys got out there first, and they were like, Okay, boys, like no one speak to the girls when they come down, like just everyone ignore them. And the girls who came down, they were like, Hey, and the boys just stayed silent and were facing each other, just like freezing them out. And I was like, This is But why? Because because they were annoyed that the girls, like they it was kind of like double standards. Yeah, the girls were getting annoyed at the boys for doing gross things, and the which were to in fairness, like grosser than what the girls were doing, and the girls were just laughing about the stuff that they had their cards about, and so they were like, it's just double standards, it's ridiculous. Like if that was us, like we would get ripped apart, and I was like, This is so pathetic. I feel like it's like watching like year five children, and um, but the they are so young, they're like fair. No, I know it honestly was crazy, and then they all kind of split off into their couples, and all the boys try to have conversations with their girls being like, Do you not see how that's double standards? Like, I just think it's really unfair. And all the girls are obviously just like try being a woman every day. Like, I don't know what to tell you, but this is so dumb, and you're being so pathetic, and honestly, you've got no fucking idea. So there's quite giving that energy, which is quite nice vibe. Because I feel like sometimes on that show, the boys control everything.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you're in a better place to talk about it because I feel like you've been more of a loyal watcher over the last few years. I've kind of reached my point maybe four years ago, and I was like, I'm love islanded out. Um, but it's interesting how like all of this manosphere stuff is kind of erupting and bubbling now. Like, do you see that playing out in any of the characters?

SPEAKER_00

Not really, like, you don't really see it to the point of like manosphere vibe, but definitely misogynistic elements. Like one guy told this girl who's like stunning, but she's and she's quite fiery. When she got a bit fired up, it was like off-putting, and she's like in a cover with his brother, so it wasn't even anything to do with this guy, but he basically, yeah, with his brother, yeah, she's a bit more fiery than we are, whatever. But you know, that's also just her personality. But I was like, that's so rude, you're such a dick telling a girl that they're not good enough or what they're doing is like too much, and it's that whole narrative, and um, it was just like really not cool. But actually, she's uh coupled up with the brother who's actually younger, he's at 21 or something, but he's so nice. There's always only like a couple of them, but you really notice the guys who are actually emotionally mature.

SPEAKER_02

Is he more emotionally intelligent than his brother? Do you think?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, definitely 100%.

SPEAKER_02

And he's younger. Yeah, comes across the way not 21 at all. Yeah, so I will be watching Love Island. I don't know, I don't know what it is about it. Maybe it's because I want to watch it, but I feel like the reason why I maybe can't be bothered is because I feel like I can't relate to them anymore because I'm a bit older. What do you feel like?

SPEAKER_00

I mean, there's definitely that vibe. I mean, I haven't watched it for a few years. I only did because people just said this one was quite good. I think it's just like such easy telly, isn't it? But yeah, agreed everyone's like 20 years old. I was thinking about it today, and I was like, people probably come out of it being like that. Was it one of the hardest things I've had to do? Think about being literally shut in one place for six weeks, and also it's not like Big Brother where you're just making friends and stuff like that. You're literally having to flirt, having to talk to people, having to develop feelings, being scared of those feelings like from someone else, girl, you get rejected. It's quite emotionally taxing, like even if people are in fame. Like, I feel like people would get out and just feel like you would feel like you've gone slightly mad. There was also like a clip of a girl, I haven't watched the episode yet, but one of the girls like was obviously just having like a down day, like we obviously are so used to, and like she couldn't go anywhere, she just was in bed, you know. Yeah, and yeah, and coming up to see if she was okay, and you know, and you're like, I actually just need like a day to myself, and you can't escape. And I was like, God, yeah, that is actually really horrible.

SPEAKER_02

That is horrible. Actually, I feel like you're all right at being like if you're in a bad mood, if you're like feeling a bit down, you're quite good at just being like, guys, this is my vibe today, goodbye. Whereas I feel always the pressure to suppress and you know, everything's fine, and then have like two drinks, and I'm having like a breakdown and calling the producer to call my boots. But yeah, like it must be really hard because you're all in because also you're all on camera, so like you don't want to be on bad form, like it must just be so stressful.

SPEAKER_00

I I couldn't do it, and also like look okay, you're in a bikini all day. Like, absolutely not. That's horrific. I think they do have the smoking area still, but they just like got rid of it. Do you remember the early days when the smoking area was on camera? Yeah, and it was the best and it was like bits came from that.

SPEAKER_02

Literally the best bits, and they were just chain smoking, like all of them were chain smoking. I think was it was a series with do you remember Olivia? Um, what's her name? Olivia Atwood. Were they still smoking that series?

SPEAKER_00

That was the longest year they smoked, I think, because I remember her constantly in the swake year, just like literally chain smoking, puffing away. But so much good gossip happened there.

SPEAKER_02

So much good gossip. Also, I guess it is kind of bad for young girls or boys or whatever to be watching people chain smoke, but also at the same time, I don't know, I wouldn't say it looks that alluring.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and also younger people can never buy cigarettes ever again, so whatever, it's fine. Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

It's like daunting now. I can't yeah, okay, we've discussed that already, but like I actually think that that's insane.

SPEAKER_00

And they've banned social media for under-16s.

SPEAKER_02

I know. So we spoke about this a little bit with Gary and Flo, but what do you think of that? I think it's so good.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I definitely think it is good, but I feel like maybe under 15 would have been better. I feel like 16 you are. I don't know, maybe that's not true. But yeah, no, I definitely do think it is good.

SPEAKER_02

No, but even when we were 15, like the way that we were using social media was so stupid. Like, even just like the ridiculous statuses that we were writing, and I feel like now they're so much more aware of it that like they're doing more damage. But like you look back, like I delete I deleted my Facebook because like I literally looked at it like six months ago and I was like, oh my god, what is this embarrassing drivel? Like, it's so embarrassing, and that's there on the record. I'm like, I can't believe that this is a public monument to my like 15-year-old like jokes which weren't funny.

SPEAKER_00

That I guess is maybe why I started saying under 60, like 16 for us but older, because like that was part of our lives, and it's kind of sad if they don't get sort of a bit of that, but also it was such a different time and context, so much more innocent, and no one really, yeah, didn't have any effect on it and anything.

SPEAKER_02

But also, it was like the Wild West. I feel like now we know like how negative it is, and it's like, do you know what? Kids do not need to be sitting on their phone all day, every day, like DMing pictures of each other. Do you know what I mean? Like they could do that on WhatsApp if they want, but like we don't need to be trolling each other. Like school is aren't enough.

SPEAKER_00

There's just no need, guys. No, I know it is so true. Do you remember honesty box?

SPEAKER_02

Don't yes. That was so mean.

SPEAKER_00

So whoever the fuck in our age group did that, invented that, or started that. I don't know who did it, what the hell happened, but you're evil and yeah, don't like you.

SPEAKER_02

I I don't think I wrote any mean honesty boxes. I mean, maybe one what a one bitchy one or something, but I used to write just really weird stuff. Obviously, like nothing's changed, but I just thought it was really funny. Do you know what I mean? Just I would always be like, um, like saw you walking down the street in Twickenham, cool talk. I mean, that's actually kind of scary. It's like I must talk. No, maybe not that, not quite that, but it would just be like really random, random as fuck.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, who's in Twickenham?

SPEAKER_02

No one. I would just make it up. Also, that sounds stalky. It was less stalky, it was just random. It would be like, I love your hamper. It's just like really random. Um, did you sound awesome?

SPEAKER_00

Um, I think we probably did, but not like mean ones, like just like you said, some jokey ones about boys and stuff, but nothing like mean. Because I got some mean ones, and I was like, this they were so mean. And I was like, I'm never sending a mean one. I don't think I did anyway, unless like I have repressed that memory. Wait, what did you receive? I got one that was about um my nose, like saying that I look like I had like a plastic nose. Um, and then I think I got another one. I can't remember what the other one was, but it's something else about my face or something.

SPEAKER_02

Definitely jealous girls, don't you think? It's so jealous. Also, you have to do that.

SPEAKER_00

But you know, at the time you're you know, at the time you're like, why? Well, what did I even do?

SPEAKER_02

Literally, what did I do to you? What did I do? That's what I mean though. Teenagers are so savage, even kids are so savage, kids are so mean to each other. I feel like having a platform to basically make that even worse should not be encouraged. Like you're gonna do and say stuff that you regret that you're so immature, or I don't know, like you're just trolling someone and you think it's funny at the time, and then you look back in 20 years and you're like, whoa, okay. Hate speech, but anyway. Um, yeah, no, I can't believe it.

SPEAKER_00

I was gonna say, I'm probably saying this, I'm like, I never said one horrible thing, but I probably did that.

SPEAKER_02

I just don't you probably did, and I probably did as well.

SPEAKER_00

I know on the whole that mine were just weird. Um you got an honesty box about a hamster in 2009 or something. It was Juliana.

SPEAKER_02

You know who it was from my identity has been unmasked. They were so weird, I'd be like, You drank way too much water and pee today. So weird.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know what's wrong with me. Like, what is wrong with me? So, Bunny, I was just gonna say on the love island thing, when you said the thing about calling the producers to call your mum, I was like, you actually would just hang out with the producers, you would just be like, I feel safer with you guys.

SPEAKER_02

I'd be with the producers and in the smoking area off camera the entire time. And also, I would not be in a bikini, I'd be wearing a moo moo for the entire series. And if anyone told me that they fancied me, I'd probably just hyperventilate and how to be stretched.

SPEAKER_01

A little calf Dan.

SPEAKER_02

I did I tell you that um it was.

SPEAKER_01

We were gonna apply at one point. I didn't apply. I literally did you actually reply?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like this must have been like when we were like 21 or 22, but I remember it was like uni just after uni, and I think it was like the third series, and when it was like still really fun, quite new. And I remember I had no money and I was desperate for a holiday, and I was like, oh my fucking god, if I go for like six weeks, that's like the best holiday ever. So I was like, Well, I'm gonna try and get a free holiday.

SPEAKER_00

Didn't get on, but uh did you did you never hear back from them?

SPEAKER_02

Well, no, clearly I didn't, no. Well obviously I wasn't up for the camera test, but yeah, sad times.

SPEAKER_00

Um do you remember when they used to shout on it? No, it was um it was hot and heavy back in the day. Would you ever should on it? No, I don't think so. You're so frisky.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, just being weird again.

SPEAKER_00

Bringing out honesty box.

SPEAKER_02

But um, do you remember there was that girl? Um, that series, and it was like this is boring for people who don't like Love Island, but just super quick trivia. Do you remember there was that girl, Liv, and then she got married to that guy Alex, and he was do you remember he was really hot, but she'd been coupled up with loads of different people, and every single time it had fallen through. And do you remember she was in a bed with that guy who she was friends of who was called like Ricard or something? Do you remember that?

SPEAKER_00

Rikard. Oh my god, yeah, Rikard, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And she was in bed with him, and they were like coupled up as friends, and then they were spooning, and then they just ended up shagging.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02

Do you remember that?

SPEAKER_00

That series, that series had loads of shagging. Um they're married still. How could I know?

SPEAKER_02

It's so cute. I'm obsessed. Yeah, also Leslie Bigette, Camilla and Jamie.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Love them. And then he just came in like two weeks before the end or a week before the end. And now they're still married.

SPEAKER_02

Also, because they seemed on paper so different. Because like you know how loads of people are such like I don't know, like clout chasers or like fame hungry. And so initially it was a bit like, oh, is he just doing this because he like wants to be on the show? He wants to like get some Instagram followers, but it was real.

SPEAKER_00

I know love them. Speaking of reality TV, I keep getting uh TikToks of snippets of Jersey Shaw. And remember that guy called Situation?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Why the fuck was he called the Situation? I think he was called the Situation because he always created a situation. It's just so stupid. Like there was this clip of him, he was on the phone, he was calling a cab, and the cab was like, What's the name of the pickup? And he was like, The situation. And they were like, So what? He was like, The situation. It was so weird. I was like, what is going on?

SPEAKER_02

What was he called? He was called like Mike D or something. There was Paul E D, and then he was Mike.

SPEAKER_00

And then he was called, um, I looked him up, he was called Mike Sorrino, I think. He's like written a book and random stuff. I think there's like a new series that's called like the Jamped Jamptons, like the Jersey Hamptons.

SPEAKER_02

Stop. Stop. That's not gonna catch on, is it? But speaking, but speaking of a different era of reality TV, that was truly the Wild West. My the situation was the most toxic man that has ever existed.

SPEAKER_00

He was oh no, it was horrific. It was absolutely crazy. And there was that couple called Ronnie and Sammy and Sammy and Ricky. Sammy and Ronnie.

SPEAKER_02

Sammy and Ronnie, yeah. And then do you remember one time he had something wrong with his asshole? And he had to go to the he had to go to the doctor on camera and basically get the doctor to like rummage around his arsehole. Do you not remember that? What was wrong with it? What was wrong with that? I don't remember they were like inflamed or something. What were they doing to it? I don't know. But they would get into like physical fights. Do you remember?

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, physical fights? Actually, it was wild that they filmed people so drunk.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah. Fuck. Can you imagine like our levels of hangover anxiety? Can you imagine if that was like produced and edited into a TV show?

SPEAKER_00

And also like we're on no way their level. Like they were off the scale. Like it was so crazy. Ours would be so boring. It would just be like someone crying.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, someone crying because someone forgot to wait for them to get the bus, or like oversharing everything about your latest therapy session, and then being like, oh my god, how embarrassing. Yeah. No, that was crazy. Snookie. Do you remember Snooky? I loved her and Jenny.

SPEAKER_00

Jenny was my favourite. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They were great. I think Jenny was on. You know how Paige from Summer House did that like bed series where she interviewed people. She interviewed a Martha Stewart, yes. I'm pretty sure Jenny was on that. Jay Wow. Yeah, I know. I was like, how r Jay Wow, yeah. I was like, how random. She must be doing something. She must be on the Jamptons. She must maybe tune in.

SPEAKER_02

Wish it. I've been watching Real House I was on New Jersey and it it's similar, vibe is absolutely mental. Everyone is unhinged.

SPEAKER_00

New Jersey, just as I've obviously never been, but well not obviously, but I haven't been. I just don't really understand because it also seems like really rich people in there. But also all I know of it is Jersey Shaw or The Sopranos.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, is that where Sopranos is based?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I think they're in New Jersey.

SPEAKER_02

Ah, yeah. I've still never watched The Sopranos. I know that you have.

SPEAKER_00

It's an effort, I have to say. It's a it's great, but like it's you really have to commit to it. Yeah, obviously. I mean, I've watched it twice all the way. Why now?

SPEAKER_02

Well, yeah, because two different relationships.

SPEAKER_00

No, I actually watched the first one on my own. And I had to stop watching, yeah, yeah, I just watched it on my own. It took me like a year to get through because some episodes are so dark that you're like, I can't watch this again. I was dreaming of like mobsters and stuff and people dying, and it was a lot. But when I watched it with Ollie, obviously I'd seen them all. I, as you know, hate not knowing how things end, but obviously I knew how it all ended.

SPEAKER_02

So you were you were prepped, you were mentally efficient.

SPEAKER_00

It still takes such a long time. I think we started it in January and we didn't finish it until June or something.

SPEAKER_02

Stop. Is that because you're but you're watching it every day?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Most days, yeah. Like one or two episodes.

SPEAKER_02

So there's like what is it like 10 series or something?

SPEAKER_00

No, there's only six series, but I think the last series is like a double series, so it's like 24 episodes or something. Like a full worth. It's a it's a lot. It's a lot.

SPEAKER_02

American TV, they they love like a 70 part series, don't they? Like the American Office, it's like 40 episodes per series, and I'm like, guys, I actually only need like five. Like, I'm good with that. Like, I don't have the time.

SPEAKER_00

Honestly, it's just nothing better when you start a series and it's like a three-parter.

SPEAKER_02

Like flea bag. Fleebag absolutely smashed it. Two series, both perfect, like six episodes, bish bash bosh, Bob's your uncle.

SPEAKER_00

You would say that saying is you're her.

SPEAKER_02

Chat GBT, that little little fucker. Me and Hannah asked Chat GBT, if just in case anyone doesn't know the context, what character we would be, fictional character we would be, from all the information that it had on us. And Hannah was Hermione Granger, which is like 100% accurate. And it said, considering I've deleted all my chats, and it was like I don't have a huge amount of data to go on, but if I had to choose, I would say uh flee back. Like that's so aggressive. She's literally responsible for her best friend's death, but yeah, sure, why not?

SPEAKER_00

My name hat you've been watching any World Cup stuff in Italia.

SPEAKER_02

Well, when I was in Paris three days ago, we were at a bar in it was actually really good vibe because it was France, um, Iraq. The Iraq team are so hot. Also the Ghana team.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, so hot. Yeah, I know. So do you know what there's so many hot people in this part? There was like a sweepstak at work that I forgot to like take part of. And um forgot. There was like three, well, I just it didn't reply because I was yeah, and there was like three teams left, and it was like Iraq, Cabo Verde, and like something else. Then I saw the Iraqi team and I was like, maybe I pay Iraq, like that's fortunate.

SPEAKER_02

You're like happy to be their patron, my dad was like that's not how it works.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, Well, what else am I gonna go to? Like, hi, Alan. Are you watching the match?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, we watched the match. I mean, we only watched it for like half an hour, but it was a really good vibe because everyone was obviously like French, they were loving life. Um, but then we were like, okay, let's go to bed, and then every like 20 because they think they scored like three goals, so every goal that they scored, like me and Flo would be on the verge of sleep, and then the entirety of Paris would be like jolted awake in like a panic and a fluster. But but yeah, so basically that is literally the only game. And I watched Garner England really briefly. What about you?

SPEAKER_00

Have you been thrashing around at the pub? No, literally only that, and it was so boring, and I was like, oh my god, I'm so tired. Like, why am I watching this? But it really cracked me up because my mum sent this like newspaper clipping the other day, yeah, and it was a witch from I don't know where they were from, maybe they were Ghanaian, but it was a witch who said he had put a curse on Harry Kane, which had frozen England out for their Ghana match, but now the witch has released him for the next England Panama match today, so should all be good now.

SPEAKER_02

I am dying. That's exactly what we need to be doing. I need we need to be cursing these players.

SPEAKER_00

I was racking up. I love that the witch is like, I don't want you to win against Ghana. So I'm just gonna like freeze Harry Kane, um, captain of the England team, like world striker, whatever he is. But England Panama, sure. I'll release the curse.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, like I'll be magnanimous. Like, I'm not a total bitch. Also, Harry Kane is 32, which makes me feel really good about myself.

SPEAKER_00

Why not? He's older than that.

SPEAKER_02

Well, he I think his birthday's actually coming up, and he's gonna be 33.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, fine. So he's already. I mean he's still kind of good, but also like he still achieved so much more.

SPEAKER_02

That is so untrue. He've just been like kicking stuff. We have done a lot of spreadsheets, I've done a lot of reception work, I've been around.

SPEAKER_00

I think the difference is that like he picked one thing and he stuck to it and he never gave up. Whereas me picked a million things and not leaked them and given up.

SPEAKER_02

So we're trying to say we haven't done our 10,000 hours. Well, we're on episode 10. This is episode actually, this is episode 11. Yeah. I think we need to give ourselves a bit of a pat on the back.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Little ASMR.

SPEAKER_02

Apparently, most podcasts don't get past nine.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I never heard what you say. Well, you actually, first of all, you said it was seven. Now it's jumped to nine. I don't really know what to believe.

SPEAKER_02

Either way, like weeps are past, you know? Weeps are surpassed. Okay, can you tell me about the Madonna? Um, so basically, Fashion Week, Paris, men's fashion week at the moment. So when I was there, it was kind of kicking off. Um, and the Saint Laurent show, I bet you saw this, but did you see how Madonna, Charlie, they're all there smoking and like apparently they were like um oh clove cigarettes. So they were like not even real cigarettes, but they were just doing it with the aesthetic. Um so I didn't know, I guess they weren't cigarettes, they had like pulverized clothes in them or something.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I thought you said clothes, and I know the z like that's so lame.

SPEAKER_02

I know lame, right? Um, also probably like quite aggressively, like a hit to the throat. Probably is not very pleasant. Um, this is what I want to talk about. So, did you see the Louis Vuitton show that it was like a surfing theme and there was like a tidal wave that they'd built? It was crazy because obviously I was telling I told you at the time, but it was like I know it's been so hot in London, but it was like 42 degrees, 43 degrees, like to the point that being outside was like I don't even know how to describe it. It was pain, it was like physical pain. Like what for me, because obviously I'm such a little pussy, and I'm sure other people were loving it. But like I just didn't care about how I looked, I didn't care about what I was wearing. I was just like getting sun cream and just smearing it on my clothes, like on my hair. Like, I didn't care. My toes, I'd covered them in back to 50, and within 15 minutes, they were like red, raw, and burning. But um, long story short, there was like loads of protesters. Um, I think there was like 1,200 protesters because they'd made this in this a university garden. Basically, the university are up in arms because they're like, Why the hell are you here? Like, we have students, they need to get on with their work, and there's like fucking, I don't know, not Adam Winter, but whoever's tottering around.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but they would have had to get a permit for that, they wouldn't just like have decked up in the university gardens.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think they they had got a permit, and it's been used for like the Victoria Beckham show in the past, and I think another show, but I think they were saying that then they're never going to renew it because it was just annoying. And they'd built so basically Pharrell and like his team, they'd built essentially a massive wave that looked like kind of a tidal wave that's sort of supposed to look like um like if you're surfing a wave or whatever that was just in the background, but all the water had been funnelled from just the local Parisian water supply, and they said it was all getting funneled back through the drains or whatever. But obviously, people were up in arms because they're like, we're literally baking to death, and here we are using like tons of water to create a faux tidal wave, like for the benefit of Conestori and Co. Like, there's just no need. Um, but I did think that was turned deaf.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it was crazy. I mean, I have to say, my first thought when I saw it was this absolutely stunning. It's pretty cool. I'll give it, I'll give it. It's like it's just beautiful and it's not AI, like, oh my god, wow. Um but obviously, like I do completely get that it's completely turned off. I wonder if it would be, I mean, if they're saying it's like a closed loop system, it's going back into the water supply. I wonder if it would be the same reaction if it was like done in winter and if it was just because it was happened to be a heat wave. Because if like it's not getting wasted, also like working in production, like a lot of the time you do have to prove things that you're doing are like environmentally friendly and like you're minimizing waste and stuff like that. So I feel like Louis Vuitton wouldn't be able to create this water sculpture that wasted water, like they just wouldn't be allowed to do it. Um, but I wonder if like it would have had the same reaction if it was like in the depths of winter or something when it just wasn't 90 degrees.

SPEAKER_02

I think you're right. I don't think it would have. Because I think it was just all the criticism was just like fashion is so out of touch, people are literally like not going to school, kids are like being banned from getting on the train, people are jump drowning because they're trying to like cool off in the water, and here we are, like all dressed up in pleather and PBC and ug boots with a fucking tidal wave in the background, pretending that we're all fine. But I mean, to be honest, just to play devil's advocate. So it's not like it's not like they knew it was gonna be like fucking the hottest day of all time, like that's ever happened on the earth, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_02

But I guess maybe in retrospect, just large amounts of water is just not cool anymore.

SPEAKER_00

See, and obviously it's like so unnecessary. 100% agree with that. But like, why is Paris like why's whoever they need to speak to the waters of like whatever? Why are they saying they can do it? Like that's stupid of them. It's not just Louis Vuitton, it's like other people like all approving that.

SPEAKER_02

But just sorry, just one final thing about Paris, Han. Like, I can't get over how hot everyone is. And I was talking to this girl, we made I made friends with this girl, um, and she lived in Milan for seven years, and now she's just moved to Paris, but she's originally from New York. And she was like, she was like, Yeah, the Parisians are like they're gorgeous, but I think I prefer Italians, and I was like, Oh, like how come I would say that, like, you know, they're like as fit as each other. And she was like, I think that Italians are just sorry, I don't want to offend the entire nation, but she was like, she, these were her words, not mine. She said, I think Italian men are a bit more like how do I put this, vacuous, or just like not as they don't take things as seriously. Whereas she was like, French men, they almost are too deep. And I was like too earnest, too earnest, like they love talking about like philosophy and like existentialism. And I was like, Are you joking? Like, that's my dream. I was like, I want to talk about Simone de Beauvoir with these gorgeous Jacques and Pierre.

SPEAKER_00

You're like, you don't know me very well right now, but I've actually like broken up with people because I don't think they're worldly enough. They probably think I know what natural wine is, so like but I do think that that is a bit of a red flag.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, you disagree with me, but I do think that is a minor red flag.

SPEAKER_00

This was basically Jules went on a date once, and did you do two dates or one date? I can't remember. But the guide had never tried natural wine, and she was texting me furiously from the bathroom, being like, Han, he doesn't know what natural wine is. And I was like, Okay, well, it's not like the world like it's not the worst trait in the world to have.

SPEAKER_02

Like, fine, just give it another go, like go back in there, go back in there, just down that Chardonnay, filled with sulfate. It's fine, you'll get through it.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, relationships about learning, like you teach the other person things.

SPEAKER_02

It's not that it's in any way a bad thing. Like, obviously, I don't actually think that's a red flag to defend myself. He'd never been to like any gallery in London, but he'd like lived his whole life. And I was like, No, no, no, I don't need you to be a art critic, but it would be nice if you step foot in the fucking National Gallery. Do you know what I mean? Like, where were you in year three? Like when we were all looking at that tiger painting. Do you remember? I think it was like my hand. Do you remember in the National Gallery? And when you were a kid, I think it was like year three or something, and you'd go and it was like it was the tiger with the long grass, and it was like the huge painting, like just in the entrance, and you'd all sit on the floor and you'd like talk about what it meant.

SPEAKER_00

Do you not remember that? I don't remember. I don't remember. No. Um, do you remember when that art magazine got in touch with you to do like a blind date column? And then he touched you to do blind date. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And and you had to like write what your favourite pink colour was or something. No, you're over colouring you said cadmium red. It's like you're such a wanker.

SPEAKER_02

But was it not even true? Like it's not even true.

SPEAKER_00

It literally isn't true. Like, you love turpoos with your like a dolphin. Like, it's literally couldn't be less true. Like, you just love like shiny turquoise things.

SPEAKER_02

I like turquoise in pink, like they were my favorite.

SPEAKER_00

That's what you like.

SPEAKER_02

Are we trying to be sort of mysterious, you know, like a woman of the night? Well, not a woman of the night.

SPEAKER_01

Woman of the night.

SPEAKER_02

No, I meant a woman of you know, like old taste.

SPEAKER_00

Of the dusk.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Um, that was embarrassing. And then they found me a match and then it never came through. I was like, who is this who?

SPEAKER_00

I think you just didn't do it.

SPEAKER_02

No, they were like, your match can't do the dates. And I was like, okay, well, these are some other dates. And they were like, Oh, he can't do them either. Can you do these? And I was like, No, I'm away. So it just didn't work. And then it's like six months went by, and I was like, listen, obviously this hasn't happened, but can you just like out of interest tell me who this person was? I was yeah, and they just never replied. So I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_00

It's so annoying. I mean, to be fair, if you were matched, if you put cadmium red as your favourite colour, and they found you a match based off that, then who knows who it would have been.

SPEAKER_02

Who knows?

SPEAKER_00

Maybe they would have been too worldly, yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Or just like quite aggressive or something. I don't know. Like red is quite a weird colour to be your favourite. Yeah. I don't know if I know anyone whose favourite colour is red. Yours is pink.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, mine's pink. It's like that thing I was telling you about how a girl on TikTok was like, I know all my best friends, like deepest, darkest secrets. I know what she would do in an apocalypse, like I know what she would do to protect someone, I know like everything about her, but I don't know what her favourite colour is.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I remember you saying that, and we were like, Well, we know that and favourite colour.

SPEAKER_00

So I was like, but I hate out all of that, and I know your favourite colours to be beat them.

SPEAKER_02

Um oh my god, it's so true. Do you what's Ollie's favourite colour?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. Uh green, I think actually.

SPEAKER_02

I was gonna say, is it green? He's giving green.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, he's giving green.

SPEAKER_02

I feel like as girls, like we pretend that we don't like pink when we grow up because it feels too like lame, and then actually, like, you you have like a renaissance and you get older and you're like, we were fooling. Like, I love pink. There was a time at school where it like wasn't cool to like pink. Because it was like too girly, and being a girl was bad because we live in a patriarchy. I remember when I was in um year one, or like whatever it was, like reception. Um, we used to have crayons. Did you have the crayons? And then you'd like obviously play with them. There would always be this like crimson crayon, like it was like fuchsia. Um, but we used to call it the pinky red crayon, and it was everyone's favourite, girls and boys. We would have fights over a pinky red crayon, and then like something happened later, everyone like rejected the pinky red crayon because they were like, it's not cool anymore.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that's so sweet.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, really quickly, there's this new Polaroid campaign where basically they're just like completely shading like AI. So, you know, like Polaroid is in like Polaroid camera and Polaroid film. So they've started this whole new campaign, it's like all around London, these massive billboards, and they say stuff like, Go jump in some water before the AI centers all drink it up. And I'm like, Oh my god, but like also good for you, good for you, Polaroid.

SPEAKER_00

I actually saw someone with a Polaroid camera on Thursday and titled.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I think that's because they they said on Instagram, they're like, We're just being cheeky, but we do think like, you know, go out and live your life. And like some of them say, like, less getting tracked, more getting lost. And I'm like, okay, someone's starting a bit of beef in the tech community.

SPEAKER_00

To be fair, like that's a good angle for them.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and also I'm like, someone's gotta say it. It's good that you guys are saying it.

SPEAKER_00

100%.

SPEAKER_02

Sorry, I'm on I'm now like on a roll and I know we're about to finish, but um, did you see that there's gonna be a film about the guy who started at ChatGPT? Sam Orlando. No, I didn't. So they've made so Amazon commissioned commissioned and made this film, but apparently it's like so damaging that they have basically had to like let it go, and loads of places don't want it because they're so scared of open AI. But it's got so many famous people in, it's got Andrew Garfield as him, as Sam Altman, it's got Mark Rylance, um, Chris O'Down, it's got loads of famous actors. I can't think of them, it's like literally 20 of them. Um, and so yeah, Amazon, because Jeff Bezos is mates with him, he was like, Oh, I can't put this out about like my friend like needs to keep in his good books, but now they they they can't get distribution. Um, but it costs like loads of money to make, and apparently it's a really good film.

SPEAKER_00

So, how did it get so did the people who made it want to paint him in a bad light?

SPEAKER_02

I don't think so. I think they were just like, it's like you know, remember the social network? It was just like how Mark Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg. Yeah, you know how Zuckerberg came off. He just came off as like a misogynist, but also, you know, a genius. I guess it's just like that. And it's like delving into his life. Um, sorry, the final thing. Did you see that they've made a social network too?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_02

How was the list of it's I've been consuming quite a lot of podcasts. Um, it's called the social reckoning. It's I can't wait, it's gonna be like the fallout of everything that they created and how it's like damaged the the world.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, wow. It's described as a biographical thriller. It's Jeremy Strong and Jeremy Allen White. Oh, interesting. Jeremy Strong's Mark Zuckerberg.

SPEAKER_02

Jeremy Alan White, you'd think he was oh, and Mikey Madison's in it as well.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It's coming out this year.

SPEAKER_02

I think to be honest though, you know how they always say art is the best way to kind of make change. I guess in some ways it's like we feel so powerless to all of these like crazy, crazy trillionaires just make loads of like really damaging art about maybe or like pushing the needle. Like, honestly, I was thinking this. If we just confiscated uh Elon Musk's trillion quid, we could fix the world. We'd be living our best lives. We could have more fucking tidal waves or whatever. It's sorry, I always make it dark. Uh well, I'm gonna see you soon, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Have you booked your train?

SPEAKER_02

No, no, yeah. I'm gonna book it today.

SPEAKER_00

She was gonna go up in price.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I know. I just I anyway. I mean and Hannah are going to Milan to visit our Mire, so I will be seeing her in two days, and apparently Milan's like extremely hot. So bring your bikini.

SPEAKER_00

I can't wait. I'm so excited.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, I think that's that's enough.

SPEAKER_00

That's enough.
