Welcome to Episode 43 of the Eat for Endurance Podcast, where I interview Sports Dietitian Lauren Antonucci, RDN, CSSD, CDE, CDN, on Nutrition for Masters Athletes.
Lauren was a guest on my show back in 2019 to discuss fueling young athletes, so when I learned that she was in the midst of writing a book on masters athletes (anyone 35 and above, in case you’re wondering), I knew that would be the topic of our next interview! Her book “High Performance Nutrition for Masters Athletes” is finally here, and it’s a fantastic resource on this important topic, both for Masters and non-Masters Athletes.
Lauren is the Director and Owner of Nutrition Energy, a Manhattan-based private practice. She is a specialist in Sports Dietetics, a Certified Diabetes Educator, a Mom of 3, and is herself a longtime athlete, having completed 13 marathons, 3 Ironman triathlons, and countless other running and triathlon races.
I have worked with Lauren for many years, and she has been a wonderful mentor to me as I navigated my own journey into Sports Dietetics, so I’m particularly excited to share our discussion and insights with you all.
Here are some of the things that we cover in this episode:
If you're not yet in this age category (lucky you!), I promise that you will still get a lot out of this episode.
Thank you Lauren for sharing your vast knowledge on this topic! And congrats again on publishing your book - link below for anyone who is interested in purchasing it.
FYI - we had some occasional sound / volume issues on this episode that I was unable to fix. My apologies - hopefully it doesn't take away from the listening experience too much!
