Have you ever had a hard time eating just one slice of cake, or just a handful of chips?

This week, I discussed with Dr. Vera Tarman, Addiction Medicine Specialist and the medical director of renaissance, an Addiction Treatment Center in Canada, a very large Addiction Treatment Center.

She is also the author of Food Junkies Recovering From Food Addiction. Learn the brain chemistry behind overeating and why recovering addicts often turn to other things like food or alcohol once they’ve started their recovery journey.

Highlights:

  • Food Addiction is it a real diagnosis?
  • What are the medical requirements for a diagnosis of addiction?
  • Is there a biological reason that people crave certain foods?
  • Why people don’t typically crave healthy options like brussel sprouts and what you can do about it.
