The bottle may have a famous signature, but the pour still has to earn its keep. We dive into Steph Curry’s Gentleman’s Cut to see whether this 90-proof Kentucky straight bourbon from Boone County’s Game Changer Distillery stands on flavor, not just fame. From the origin story and mash bill (75% corn, 21% rye, 4% malted barley) to the five-to-seven-year age range and premium pricing, we unpack how this release positions itself for celebratory moments—and how it compares to other star-backed spirits.

I share the full tasting journey, including why letting the bottle breathe transformed the experience. Expect a rich nose of vanilla and caramel with a soft nuttiness, an easygoing body with a light oily glide, and a long, centered finish with oak and a hint of char that quietly lingers. Using our nose-body-taste-finish framework, we land at 14/18—respectable, recommendable, and more compelling than a quick glance might suggest. We talk honestly about value: $78 to $80 isn’t “deal territory,” but it slots beneath today’s trophy bottles while aiming for premium occasions.

We also broaden the lens on celebrity whiskey. Star power can supercharge awareness, access, and distribution, but longevity requires authenticity, reputable partners, and consistent quality. We highlight Boone County’s craft credibility, how storytelling around celebration and friendship can ring true, and where some past celebrity labels have stumbled on youth, hype, or misaligned sourcing. If you’re curious whether Gentleman’s Cut is more than marketing, you’ll get context, tasting notes, and a clear takeaway you can use.

If you enjoy candid reviews and smart industry insights, follow along, share the episode with a whiskey friend, and leave a quick rating on Apple or Spotify—what celebrity bottle should we break down next?

SPEAKER_03:

Middlewest Spirits was founded in 2008, focusing on elevating the distinct flavors of the Ohio River Valley. Their spirits honor their roots and reflect their originality as makers, their integrity as producers, and their passion for crafting spirits from grain to glass. The Mexilone Reserve Line reflects their story from the start to the bottle to your glass, with unique wheated and rye bourbon, and also rye and wheat whiskey. The Meccalone brand is easy to set. It might be a grain to glass experience, but I like to think of it as uncut and unfiltered from their family to yours. Tiny here tonight. We are talking tonight. I don't know how that happened, but let's see how the fuck we just did this one in the right way. Yeah, we are talking tonight to about celebrity whiskeys and bourbons and mainly Steph Curry's new release, Gentleman's Cut. I think all of you, if I'm not mistaken, in pretty all the markets right now, Gentleman's Cut is I I hear it on, I'm hearing it on the radio here in Ohio. Let me know if you've heard him heard it on the radio. It's it's Steph talking about what he wanted to do and how he wanted to do it. And you got to try it because it's diversified. It's kind of like the whole marketing aspect of this is that it's there's something in there for everyone. And that's kind of like what we're gonna do when we talk about celebrity whiskey tonight. We're also gonna cover everything about this particular brand and cover the story, how I came with this bottle, not even having any clue how that I picked it up, and it's kind of cool. So get ready for that. And uh remember www.scotchyburbonboys.com for all things scotchy bourbon boys. Make sure you check it out. We got t-shirts, we got glens, and you know what? I didn't even get a glass tonight, which is crazy. But we've got Scotchy Bourbon Boys Glen Karen's, plus we have bourbon balls. So if you're interested, just either contact me through uh Facebook right here, right now, or you can contact me on the website. Just let us know when you place that order. We get that, we send it out. I'll look it forward to anybody and everybody who wants something like that. A really kind of cool merchandise. But remember, we're on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, X, and TikTok. Check us out there. I'm just at one of these days, I'm gonna be able to really give all the different places the amount of attention they should have. I'm I'm working towards that. And so as I keep going forward, and then we are also on iHeart, Apple, and Spotify and all the other podcast formats. But no matter what, make sure whether you listen to us or you watch us, watch us live or watch us the next day, make sure that you leave us good feedback, especially on Apple. Leave a five-star review. That would be something I think as we go forward, we have more and more kind of podcasts. I mean, you're gonna find us with we'll have guests this year. I'm concentrating on celebrity guests. I've started my program working with AI to get some people on, sending emails out before the end of January and see who we can pick up this year. I would based off of what I'm trying to do, I would just like to one time this year have a celebrity on promoting their bourbon or promoting their whiskey, whether it be Chris Stapleton, Steph Curry, it doesn't matter to me. It's going to be Paint Manning, all those different celebrity whiskeys and bourbons. I'd like to have that's the goal is to have someone on, but that's another reason why we're covering it tonight. Because, you know, this is it's a cool this one, this brand is unique to me. The bottle's been open. I can't wait to can't wait to try it. I'm gonna barrel, I'm gonna do old Louisville Company's barrel bottle breakdown of Gentleman's Cut, and we'll see where it comes in. I know that when Chris Stapleton and Harlan Wheatley decided to put out the traveler, traveler whiskey, I was skeptical, skeptical, and we did some blinds on it and everything, and realistically, it's damn good whiskey. So, you know, as we keep going forward, these brands that come out, we're gonna talk about why and how and all that type of thing. So as we go forward, so but but tonight, if you're watching on on YouTube, give us a super chat. I mean, we had one, our first one, but I'm you know, feel free. Though that's cool. Whenever I'm watching anybody's podcast and the super chats are popping up, I'm just like, man, I wish I could get some super chats in there. But anybody out there on YouTube, let us know. Let us know what you think. We're monitoring comics, YouTube, and Facebook tonight. I think anybody would be cool, Walker. I mean, he's kind of talking about, but I I don't know if Sweden's Cove even is going further. I mean, we're it's not like it's out there with the next round. There's no promotion or whatever. So we'll have to see what where that goes. But a lot of that's the way celebrity whiskeys go. But um, so I want to get a little bit into the gentleman's cut. This the the the brand background is it was created by MBA star Steph, Steph Curry. Why my my it's funny because it's his name is Stephen or Stefan, and then my son's name is Stefan S-T-E-F-A-N, and my other son is named Seth as as Nobbs. Nob is Seth. So when Steph Curry comes up, it's like in the middle, and kind of that's that's kind of killing me. So, anyways, and always have, but since this brand's come out, I've been much better with it and typing and spelling his name properly. But created by NBA star Steph Curry in a partnership with John Swartz and Boone County Distilling Company in Kentucky. It's distilled and bottled at Game Changer Distillery, Boone County, Kentucky, on the Kentucky Craft Bourbon Trail. This mash bill on this is 75 corn, 21 rye, and 4% malted barley, and we are getting into a 90-proof, and it's age five to seven years. It's positioning at$78 to$80 a bottle. A premium Kentucky straight bourbon meant for special moments and shared experiences. That's how they market it. But if there's any knock on it, is the price is for this. When you're talking about traveler, talk about$39. Now you're talking about$79 to$89. But he's trying to be, it's not supposed to be the average country music band buy off the shelf. This is supposed to be the gentleman's cut. You know what I mean? The kind that when he's at the club, he orders a bottle of gentlemen's club with his friends. And that's kind of what this has been marketed at. So he also has done, and I didn't get into it, but he did a rare special release. It was a limited 16-year player exclusive edition, and that was what he wanted to do for more of a collector's thing. The price on that, if I'm not mistaken, was pretty high. And it was a 16-year, and that was kind of unique in the release. But, you know, when you first pop up, this is$80. And that the special release, I believe I saw it at$389, but that's secondary, and so I'm not exactly sure, but we're getting into gentleman's cut tonight. But you know, it's a celebrity whiskey. And and why do distilleries make them? Why do they exist? There's a lot of things that go into this. You know, one, Steph Curry as a basketball player, is his face is everywhere. He's on the phone commercial, the Google phone commercial, he's playing basketball all the time. And then he's won championships with the Golden State Warriors. He's really good at three-pointers. So when somebody who has a work ethic and does what he does on the field, and then he is involved with a product, that's what you're doing. You're looking for a big, huge audience and brand awareness instantly for the whiskey, turning a new bourbon into a conversation sooner than a traditional brand launches. So, and one of the things that proves the point is it's on the podcast. I mean, I picked this podcast up, this bottle up, not because Steph Curry, it's I'll tell you that story in a second. The sales performance. Celebrity-backed spirits often grow faster than the category average. Consumers buy for star affinity as well as taste. It's gonna sell the first bottle, his name. Everybody's, you know, it's it's intriguing. This bottle is intriguing. It's a little bit different than the normal celebrity bourbons. Okay. Then there's incentives. Partnering with big names can help a craft distillery, expand distribution, access new consumers, and boost visibility on the bourbon trail. So Boone County, which I have one of their bottles. Um, we stop by the distillery. It's always on our way back. All right. So when we're driving, there's usually the Kentucky, when we're coming home from Louisville, we pass the Kentucky Artisan Distillery, which at one point was the Oceans brand, but they've have unpartnered from that. Now they're the Kentucky Artisan Distillery. And then we pass Neely Family Distillery and Boone County Distillery. All that can be hit on our way home. And so coming home from Kentucky Bourbon Festival this year, it was me and Roxy, and we always hit a distillery on our way home. We had already done a lot of stuff and new, we had podcasted our way down with Rebecca at Neely Family, Rebecca Neely, that Neely Family Distillery. So we weren't stopping there. So we decided finally to stop at, and we already stopped at the Kentucky Artisan Distillery, but this time we decided to stop at the Kentucky Boone County Distillery. And while we were there, we took the tour and the tasting, got to see everything, got a really their tour's a cool tour. The history there is pretty darn cool. They've got their pots still kind of Frankenstein set up there. They do a lot, they've been around for a while. Um they're aging. They don't have, you know, when you walk into Risk House, it's one Rick House. It's not a lot of different Rick House. So the amount of stock isn't huge. But with the Gentleman's Cut, they were able to, now, when I was doing it, I got to taste everything. Didn't get to taste Gentleman's Cut, but I saw Gentleman's Cut. I liked the label, and I liked the name, Gentleman's Cut. I'm like, sounds like something that would be really, really good. Hey Ricky, good to see you. It would be really, really good to, you know, go over. And so I picked it up. And so picking up the gentleman's cut was kind of cool. Picking it up, paid for it. He didn't know what I had. When I look at it with my old ass eyes, this is oh, you know, it's kind of like there's Seth Curry's signature right on the bottle. And then it's called Game Changer. It's still aged six, aged and bottled in Boone County, Kentucky. So this is where you get into the other aspect is storytelling and connections. Brands leverages the celebrity's personal narrative, Curry's messaging about celebration, friendship, and memorable moments. So they're able to use steps, you know. You wonder, would he drink this after winning an NBA championship? But that's kind of how drink this with your friends during celebrations and memorable moments. So the price point, although, what would you say?$80 for this, I think I paid$79.99 at the distillery. But the price point, when you think about it, is kind of crazy in the fact that, yes, this is a bottle that you pay a little bit of money now. What's funny, it's called the gentleman's cut, it's for memorable moments and whatever. And I would agree with the price point being something special five years ago. But now, if you want something to that is for that friendship, celebration, memorable moment on the high end, you're talking 180, 250, 229. There's bottles like that out there now that are special like this. So when people say this is too much money, well, when you're in that market for that special bottle, it's probably now on the cheaper end, which is crazy. Crazy, crazy, that's my in my opinion. So, in other words, this is a 78 to$80 bottle. And storytell, but I mean, even just let's Steph was in on coming up with the flavor and developing the personality of what he wanted in a whiskey. Say what you want. Does Steph Curry have a huge, awesome whiskey palette that all the whiskey drinkers in the world will love? I don't know, but I will tell you that if for a special bottle, it's there, but it's on the lower end when people are saying, well, that's too much money. Well, they're trying to come into this market. So it's probably on the low end of it. So we'll find out. So celebrity bottles bring in new drinkers into the category. So there's somebody who's a Steph Curry fan. That's another reason. They're they're basketball fans. They might drink other spirits. Now they might buy a bottle of this. Now that puts pressure on the brand, in my opinion, and it always has. If you think about it, the brand has the pressure of being good enough that once you taste it, you're gonna be like, I like bourbon. So this is at 90 proof. This is the entry level, decent amount, keeps people like myself happy because it's at least 90. It's not 80, it's not too light, like a basil. So you're dealing with so far the marketing aspect of it is kind of right on. So, what's the excess and accessibility? Uh, often reasonably priced introductions to quality bourbon for fans of the celebrity. Now, this is not that reasonable. This is like you gotta like Steph Curry because you're gonna spend$80, just like when Antonio Freeman came out with his 86 uh from Luca Mariano, it was 86 proof,$86, and his number 86 on it. So plus he signed it, which was crazy, and it worked with me. I like the bourbon. It comes for what Luca Mariano did. I it's just like those that initial stuff and the age that he was releasing at meant that it had been distilled at what was it? Oh my god, Wilderness Trail. So good, it was good stuff, and what everybody was doing at the time. I talked to Jennifer Brandt about her and Antonio coming up with the higher rye bourbon for the for the you know the batch that was mixed, and it's it's pretty good. So Antonio did a really good job, but now, you know, where is there another around of it? We'll see. That's to be seen. So it's like they participate, formula, and then authenticity when genuine. Some celebrities like Curry here participated in formulating the brand, creating a product that they actually care about. And then this there's a crossover appeal. So sports or music fans might explore bourbon because of the celebrity link. That's obvious. This is why these are being done. Now, they're not being done for people like myself, podcasters, connoisseurs, as much. Now, I think Steph tried to go into it a little bit, get there, but they're being done for, and a distillery does it to bring in more people to drink whiskey that maybe weren't drinking whiskey, and then bring them to the distillery, bring them to the points where Steph signs the bottle. I believe he was at Boone County when it was introduced and signed the bottle. So, you know, it's really kind of cool. And it would be cool if we were able to get Steph onto the podcast and talk about it. We don't have that tonight, but I'm gonna work on it as we go. Now, there's here's the those were the pros of why you do a celebrity. Now, this isn't necessarily with this, but here's what a celebrity whiskey bourbon falls up against. The first hype versus substance. Some celebrity spirits feel like a cash grab with minimal involvement of involvement. Consumers can be skeptical. For instance, you know, how much did you know? I heard so much skepticism about Traveler, it was crazy. So that that really the hype, but the market that it goes into, I mean, I don't care. Buffalo Trace sells an awful lot of Traveler to an awful lot of people. It's a shelter now. It's on the shelf constantly and it's selling. So when you turn something into a shelfer and you have enough to keep supplying it, it's what every distillery's dream is. That's what they want. Some people buying it consistently because they like it, because that's their brand. So there's probably a lot of Chris Stapleton people who now have Traveler as their brand. Same thing. A lot of basketball people who like Steph Curry. Steph Curry was a very, very likable person. Even when Golden State was playing the Cleveland Cavaliers for me, it wasn't him. They had their bad guy. So that was something. So now there's quality concerns. Not all celebrity releases are outstanding whiskeys. And fans might buy on name alone rather than taste. Some online communities have criticized certain celebrity whiskies as young or underwhelming. And that is part of something I do believe. There's a lot of kind of stuff like that happens where the whiskey isn't very good. I will give you an example. Bradshaw. Terry Bradshaw did a release. It's okay, but it was released from a distillery with a process that everybody didn't like. And so it was okay. But it was an expensive bottle and it was Bradshaw. So it it now the distillery, which has been purchased and being run properly, if he came out with another brand, another thing on it, which I don't know or don't think he's going to do, but if he did, it would be a huge improvement because of who had purchased the distillery. Now, sustainability of interest. Star power alone isn't always enough to maintain long-term brand loyalty if the whiskey doesn't deliver. Not only that, but even if the whiskey does deliver, can the star keep delivering? That's the question. I think Gentleman's Cut could last a while because Gentleman's Cut Alone is a cool name. If you keep putting good stuff in and have him part of the first couple batches and he's endorsing it, even after he isn't directly endorsing it anymore, you probably could use the gentleman cut brand. Where Traveler, I think you could do the same thing if those are a couple brands, but but Bradshaw, no, when he goes, I believe there was a celebrity brand brand from the people from the vampire show that was on that were out there. And I don't know if that brand survives. I I have a bottle. I should do a podcast on it, see where they you know what what's what's another thing that that's kind of it's like it's it's kind of like like an 80s. I would agree with that. It's like an 80s, um, where are they now kind of show at one point on some of the celebrity things? They just go, yes, I agree. There are people who like celebrities that want to get into the whiskey business, but they don't always enlist with the right people to come out with a great product. And I I would agree with that. Not everybody can enlist that way. I mean, Boone County, I was there, I saw what they're doing, I was impressed. So the product that's coming out there, I tasted some of their older whiskey along while we were there. And it's it's it's decent whiskey. They're they're doing what they need to do to produce a quality product. We'll see what happens on the barrel bottle breakdown of this. So, why Boone County and partners made this perfect? I mean, Boone County is a historic craft distillery revitalized in recent years and open to a creative partnership partnership to really they they're starting to come on, they're a craft distillery, and this is something that could just put them on the next level. A collaboration like Gentleman's Cut can boost the distillery's reputation and reach if this delivers, it absolutely can. And the brand messaging ties back to Curry's personal story, celebrating life's best moments with people you care about and positions the whiskey in a premium lifestyle space. And realistically, it's really kind of refreshing because a lot of times it's trying to sell a story. There's stories. Well, celebrities' whiskeys, the story is that they worked with the distillery to make a bourbon that he thinks all that is what he would drink at at a higher level when he would have some of his best moments. So kind of cool. It's like we'll but we'll also see. All right. So here comes the time. We are gonna do the barrel bottle breakdown, the old Louisville barrel bottle breakdown. Old Louisville, let's make sure I can get that in there. Uh, let's see. I'm gonna put that over here. The old Louisville barrel bottle breakdown. We got that, and then we got gentleman's cut right there. I am somehow gonna grab. I was I had water and everything to come down. Now I don't even have a glass. Well, I do think I got one right here. Yeah. No, it's an old Louisville tasting glass. So we'll go with that. We'll go with that. Let's see. Brothers Bond. That was the one with the you know, the vampire show, vampire diaries. I think that's what it was. He said it wasn't bad cast strength. So, but uh, do have they been keep putting it out? That's the question. But I will say that tonight's old Louisville barrel bottle breakdown. Old Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. Amin is there. He doesn't sell anything under seven years old. He's been purchasing barrels for a long time now. They're there in his Rick House. He's in the process of moving to Shively, which is going to be really cool when that happens. Hope we full that we will be a part of that. And then you gotta check him out. The old Louisville Whiskey Company is in Louisville. So if you're down there, look it up, contact him, and stop by for an experience that you'll never forget. He's like a mad scientist. We've had him on the podcast two, three times, and the whiskey is fantastic. What he does is fantastic. He's a lot of fun, and you got to stop in to the old Louisville whiskey company. And when you do, tell them the Scotch you heard about us on the Scotchy Bourbon boys. And that brings us to the old Louisville whiskey company, barrel bottle breakdown scale. That scale is based off of four categories: nose, body, taste, and finish. The nose and the body, uh, you can give up to four barrel knocks on the barrel. And the but uh the the taste, I just but the taste and the finish, you can give up to five knocks. And if one's exceptional, one of the categories is exceptional, you can give up just one category of the four a butt up butt. So, with that said, we're gonna get started as far as I'm going to pour myself some. I should haven't had it. This bottle we opened up a little while ago. Hmm, but that's got a nice nose now that it's been sitting. So, once again, this is the mash bill, and I'm gonna I can go back to that, but it's 77 75. There we come. 75 corn, 21 rye, and 4% malted barley. Okay, let's see what's going on here. Go that way. Gotta go this way. There we go. I want to see the trying to get it set up right. Let's see comments. Well, yeah, that uh Walker thinks a star should like the brand first and then go and ask them if they like, for instance, I I if you're there was anybody, everybody knows the story with uh uh Matthew McConaughey going to stopped in one day on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail and stopped in at Wild Turkey, and they decided to do a brand together, which was Long Branch, which is I believe Long Branch is still right there on the you know, we talk about it, but I think Wild Turkey with Long Branch did a pretty good job, and it's still a brand that you can pick up on you know right there on the shelf, and but it's this is again 75 corn, 20 rye, 4% malted barley. It's distilled and bottled at Game Changer distillery in Boone County, Kentucky on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. This is a premium whiskey between 78 and 80 dollars. I will do what I was gonna do. I do, let's see, there it is. I'm gonna use the light and read the back of the bottle. Let's see what's I've learned over the years that life is best enjoyed in the close company of others. It's those moments of celebrating a milestone, enjoying endless laughter into the evening, or simply an unpredictable night of carrying on that makes for a memory you can always reflect on. I've long found that these unforgettable evenings are inevitably accompanied with a rich and nuanced bourbon, which is why I'm proud to have helped carefully craft a new signature Kentucky Straight bourbon aged to perfection and helms in Boone County. Does it say helmed in Boone County? That's what it says. Our masterful mash bill of 75 corn, 21 rye, and 4% malted barley delivers a seamless sip of honey, fresh vanilla, bean, and rich caramel on the palate. The rye element engages earthy and spicy notes, while the dash of barley offers bold touches of cacao and toast. At 90 proof, this whiskey is polished and smooth. It says smooth. That's not a good thing. We hope you enjoy this special bottle of bourbon that I'm proud to put my stamp on as you bridge connections, bring people together, and enjoys life greatest pleasure. Like gentlemen, Wardell Stephen Curry the second. There you go. Honestly, so it's basically him doing what like the message of the Scotchy bourbon boys. This is why we are in it. We're in it for exactly what it is: special moments, hanging out with friends, talking into the night, smoking a cigar, you know, all the fun things. And that's kind of what this Stephen Curry's bourbon is, or what he's shooting for here. So, all right, we are going to do the tasting part, get myself back on track here. We've got that down. All right, we're on the tasting and review part.

SPEAKER_00:

All right, so the nose is vanilla caramel. Reminds me of Cave Hill's nose. What is that other smell? It's right there. There's a vanilla in the caramel. There's a nutiness to it. What is that? It's not cherry. It's there. I want to say a sweet red like is this like a caramel apple? A caram apple dipped in white chocolate. How about that? White chocolate with caram underneath, and you bite into that baby. That is a pretty damn good nose. Alright.

SPEAKER_03:

I don't know how it's gonna do in here, but I'm gonna look. It holds pretty oh, the legs are pretty it's got a decent viscosity in in the in the glass.

SPEAKER_00:

So let's see what the mouthfeel is on this. Well, I'm gonna tell you. Sitting for a bit, we made this special. There's like all right, so we're doing body and nose. All right. That was a nice palate shocker. If anybody else is out there that's got some gentlemen caught, please let me know what your thoughts are. We had we had him, one guy said, show us a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle.

SPEAKER_03:

That's real stuff there. He also said Glenn Finish is his daily 18 year old bottled in Texas.

SPEAKER_00:

And then Thomas uh, yep, there we go.

SPEAKER_03:

Well, I would definitely say if you pick up a bottle, open it the day you get it, and let it sit for a couple weeks, because that's what I did. And this is this but when I first tasted it, it was on the on the fresh crack, there w it wasn't distinctive in any way.

SPEAKER_00:

The nose on a four. Very pleasant.

SPEAKER_03:

I can't get enough when I can't get enough of it. I'm gonna go with a four on that, baby.

SPEAKER_00:

On the nose, you get a four. All right. So we're gonna go.

SPEAKER_03:

It's a good overall the flavor, the viscosity going down, it's all perfect easy. It's a little bit that that little bit enough oily mouthfeel that it sticks to everything, but not too much where it gets too, you know, viscose.

SPEAKER_00:

Anyways. I'm gonna have to say, but it doesn't hit your cheeks.

SPEAKER_03:

I'm gonna go with I'm gonna give, okay, so we gave the nose a four. I'm gonna give the body on this a two.

SPEAKER_00:

Average. It's an average body for a 90, which nothing's wrong with an average body. This is where it might go off the charts for everybody because once again, I don't know if it's me or I wasn't expecting to be this to taste like this. I really wasn't there's vanilla bean right on the front when you got it in there. Then I should go to the back, it's more like a little bit of caramel, but vanilla froth. Okay, hug I could drink this all day. That is wow. I would say four six. I'm going to give the taste a four out of five.

SPEAKER_03:

But when this when he talks about gentleman's cut if you're talking about gentlemen's a gentleman's cut bourbon or whiskey. This is where it has a little bit smoking.

SPEAKER_00:

Finish is like a scotch. Because the oak.

SPEAKER_03:

All I could say is a like a bourbon, a lot of times a finish isn't like centered down the back of your throat. This is even on my glottis. Like the flavor on my glottis, it's all centered, and and scotches do that a lot with wood and smoke.

SPEAKER_00:

No. Little bit of char. I'm gonna have to say it's a long finish.

SPEAKER_03:

And part of it is the hug just shows what it's not fast to start, but then it just goes on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on. So I will also give the finish a four, which is an eight and a six, which equals fourteen. And gentlemen's cut pulled a 14 out of 18 off the Scotchy Bourbon boy. I said, hey Matt Cheers, I you know, a 14 out of 18 for 80 bucks. That is a hot, you know, when you're talking about if you can pull a nine off, that's average. It's a celebrity, and you're talking about picking five more points up, Steph did a pretty damn good job. I'm telling you, Matt, it's not young. It's five to seven years. It doesn't taste anything now.

SPEAKER_00:

I will tell you that. Thanks, Ricky.

SPEAKER_03:

Thanks for dropping in. I will tell you, Matt, that I don't get Irish at all because Irish would have more malt. This is this is a bourbon.

SPEAKER_00:

I mean, there's 75% corn.

SPEAKER_03:

I will tell you that I would agree with you off a fresh crack that maybe I was picking up some stuff, but after it sat for the three weeks that it's been open or four weeks, I really, really enjoy this one. So 14 out of 18 for the old Louisville Whiskey Company barrel bottle breakdown. Make sure that if you stop in at old Louisville, either when he gets into his new place or now where he's at, make sure you tell him the Scotchy Bourbon boys told you to get there. Alright, there we go. That's the barrel bottle breakdown of Gentleman Cut Stephen Curry's, you know, thing or or brand sub his celebrity brand supported bourbon. So it comes down to value, price, quality. I think for what this is, I think it's just it's not a value. You know,$78,$80, in my opinion, there's just no way that's the value. Is that a value? No. You gotta drop some change to get this bottle. But at the same time, now if I could get it signed by him, that that helps too. But at the same time, I would say that I would recommend this at a 14 out of 18. I'd recommend most things right around there. But I would say that you gotta open it and let it sit because it definitely changed. So what uh what I'm tasting now is not what I remembered when I was tasting. The whole time when I was doing this after tasting it, I was wondering how to go about it. Because, you know, we don't we don't do anything to trash anything. And I wouldn't say before I tasted it, but I would have said I was expecting a nine or ten based off of the initial crack. But the 14 is well earned. So you gotta get that bottle open, ready to go. So if this is a memorable bottle where you're gonna do it, make sure about two weeks before the memory is gonna happen and you're gonna share this with friends, pop that cork. I I you all think that that's something that you you crack it with everybody. A fresh crack for somebody who knows about bourbon, in my opinion, is kind of like almost. I understand if you just buy it and you got it for the event, okay? That's one thing. But if you're like saving something for something and you fresh crack it, it's just probably not the right thing to do. We're we should have we should do a bottle, we should do a podcast on a on oxidation and the fresh crack. We've done that in the past, you can look it up, but it I'm sure it's buried in all of the 480 more. Oh, also, update. I was looking at uh our our rank, our ranking. We are number now, we are the number two whiskey podcast in the world. So we moved up one, and I'm gonna keep going. I'm going for number one. Some of the the results I was looking at some of the results, and they're way off like 1,400 people. That's how many people I follow on Facebook. 51,000 people follow me on Facebook. I'm thinking I'm gonna have to talk to them. But you know what? I'm happy with two, and I don't want to cause any in case they're losing their minds, I don't want to cause any kind of unnecessary scrutiny of the podcast. So, anyways, I'm happy with two. So, you know, we're being the number two one, that's fantastic. All right, so we are getting to finishing up, right? So that everybody can that's been watching can come in. If you're on Facebook, we will put a link. I can't put, you know what? Maybe I can put a link. No, I don't know how to put a link on YouTube to this. I would have would I comment the link? So that somehow I would have to yeah, I probably could text the link.

SPEAKER_00:

I have texted the link, but did I text it to this phone? I would have to text the link to this phone and then share on YouTube.

SPEAKER_03:
