After facing my own personal challenges, I’ve worked hard to uncover the keys to bouncing back. Through this journey, I’ve strengthened my own well-being, self-love, joy, and connection. In this podcast, I’ll share the “how-to” of resilience—offering tools, techniques, and real-life examples of people who have overcome:

In this episode of The Resilience Movement, I’m joined by Toby Whittington – an advocate, academic, and coach whose diverse life experience has shaped his powerful work in relational wellness. With over three decades of self-employment across creative, charitable, and sustainability-focused industries, Toby’s journey took a deeply personal turn following his diagnosis with Klinefelter’s Syndrome (47 XXY). Rather than viewing this as a limitation, Toby reframed his experience into a path of self-acceptance, later embracing his identity as a proud intersex person.
Today, he’s an accredited sexologist, a relationship coach, and a master’s student in counselling, using both lived and scholarly insight to guide others in forming Whole-Person Relationships.
We explore:
✨ What it means to be in a Whole-Person Relationship – and why this framework is vital in today’s disconnected world
✨ How Toby’s diagnosis became a catalyst for deeper self-love, identity integration, and emotional resilience
✨ The limiting beliefs many carry around love, intimacy, and identity – and how Toby has challenged these, personally and professionally
✨ How trauma-informed coaching, academic theory, and real-world experience combine to support healing in relationships
✨ Why vulnerability is not a weakness, but a bridge to deeper connection with oneself and others
✨ Practical advice for those beginning their own journey toward relational authenticity and self-trust
This conversation is rich in insight for anyone navigating personal reinvention, emotional healing, or seeking a more compassionate approach to connection. Whether you're beginning your healing journey or a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your understanding of relational dynamics, Toby offers a grounded and integrative perspective that blends academic rigor with human warmth. 🔗 To connect with Toby or learn more about his work, you can find him at https://www.whole-person-relationships.com/ 🧡 As always, thank you for listening to The Resilience Movement.
