Mike O'Rourke

Toledo's own Garden Guy... Mike has worked at Black Diamond Garden Center for over 30 years. He has been the community "Garden Guy" representing Black Diamond on radio, TV, Facebook Live and now on this podcast. Now retired, Mike has his hands in several local gardening projects and still manages to do speaking engagements around the area. He knows the products down to the chemical level and with a quick phone call he can help you out, 1-2-3!

Scott Sandstrom

Scott is actually a television audio guy... but his wife and family run/own Black Diamond Garden Center in the NW Ohio area. His desire to build a tropical paradise around his pool and COVID halting TV sports made him a rookie gardener and podcast producer with the surprise free time. Convincing Mike to start this podcast to help others has actually trained Scott in the garden center ways. Now you can find Scott working at Black Diamond during the busy times, basically paying it forward. Though according to Mike, he will always be a Rookie Gardener...well maybe a smart one.

The Midwest Garden Gal

I’m Lisa Hinzman Howard and I want you to know that gardening doesn’t need to be scary, crazy time consuming, or tons of hard work.

I can help! Life is a grand experiment and gardening is the perfect outlet for our creative energies not to mention great for body and soul! I’m an avid gardener who has spent years learning and growing and making all kinds of mistakes along the way. I’ve made it my mission to help gardeners around the world find success in their own backyards.
