What's the secret to your personal power?  Easy. You must finish what you start--and do it quietly and without hesitation.

Speaker 1:

Well, you did it. You did it. You made it to Finish Strong Friday here on the Sweet Spot and I'm super proud of you. I'm grateful, too, that you've been walking alongside me on this journey. We've been on talking about the power of silence. I'm Dr Derek Sweet. This is Finish Strong Friday here on the Sweet Spot. And look, finish Strong Friday is the day we don't just close the week, we complete it with intention. You know, as a board certified psychiatrist, I spend a lot of time speaking to individuals about finishing. Finishing.

Speaker 1:

Strong Performers often want to make sure that they finish the job. We all do. We all do. It takes a certain level of intention and resolve, but you know where it all starts. It starts in silence. It starts in a very quiet moment where we make a commitment to ourselves. So all week long we've explored the unshakable strength of silence.

Speaker 1:

Here on the Sweet Spot, we opened the week up with stillness, not chaos. Remember, we moved in strategy on Tuesday Take action Tuesday, not noise, you recall. And then on Wednesday, we trained our minds to be calm and not reactive. On Thursday, we listened inward, learning to trust our own voice again. And now, here on Finish Strong Friday, we're bringing it all together, because if silence is where strength is forged, then finishing in silence is how that strength is revealed. I'll say it again If silence is where strength is forged, then finishing in silence is how strength is revealed. Here's the truth most people overlook. A silent promise to yourself holds more power than a loud one to the world. Why? Because you're not performing, you're committing no noise, no audience, just you, your integrity and your intention. When you focus in silence, you activate the brain's executive function network, the PFC, the prefrontal cortex that we always talk about here, on the Sweet Spot, the system in your brain that helps you organize, follow through and deliver results without distraction. It's the difference between being busy and being effective, taking those moments of silence to gather yourself, to reflect on what's going on, to trust your inner voice, to hear your inner voice. And the ancient wisdom is clear on this in Ecclesiastes Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. A beautiful message for Finish Strong Friday. Let's repeat it Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof, and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Ts Eliot wrote this for us, there's only the trying. The rest is not our business. So what does this mean? Don't worry about who sees it. Finish because you said you would. You told yourself you would finish, not for approval, but for alignment with your values, but for alignment with your values for what you believe.

Speaker 1:

Find one thing you've left undone this week, big or small, and now make a promise to yourself silently, that you're gonna close it. Make a silent vow to complete it. Let your follow through speak louder than any announcement ever. Could you just quietly resolve you're going to take care of this, and I know you can do it. I know you've done it before. So you want to sit in silence?

Speaker 1:

This has been a week where we've discussed the power of silence. You want to sit in silence and you want to hear the inner voice and then decide what it is you're going to fix. What are you going to handle quietly? Remember, a quiet promise builds loud results. Finish in silence. Let the outcome speak for you. You don't need validation, you need completion today. Strong finishers, they don't need volume, they need vision. So let your discipline be louder than your distractions. Let your silence seal the promise inside of you today and let your finish, define your momentum.

Speaker 1:

You are very powerful, my friend. You didn't get here by accident. You didn't come this far by happenstance. I already know how powerful you are. Maybe you play it down sometimes, maybe you're not in touch with it all the time, but this is why we spent a week talking about silence, because when you reflect and you have stillness, you will connect to your divine power. Be still and know. Be still and know these things. Be still and know I'm God, who's God? And access it today and use it. Be quiet and finish strong, quietly. That's how the real G's do it. Okay, all right, now are you listening to the sweet spot You're in?

Speaker 1:

Finish Strong Friday and tomorrow. Tomorrow we rest. Tomorrow is self-care Saturday. It's all about restorative sounds that come from silence, where recovery is intentional and rest is radical Because look, champions, they don't just go hard. Rest is radical Because look, champions, they don't just go hard. Champions like you, they also know how to step back, to reset, rest and rise again. It's a part of it. So, until then, know that I believe in you. Know that I trust that you can finish strong. Know that I absolutely know that your silence is super powerful and I pray that you will slow down. Give yourself a couple of minutes, listen to your inner voice, let it guide you Because, my friend, beautiful soul, the solution you're seeking is not outside, it is inside, it is inside of you. Love. Not outside, it is inside, it is inside of you. Love and blessings. This is Dr Sweet.
