Dr. Derek Suite - The Suite Spot

The Unseen Advantage 2/7: Don't wait for signs—be the signal. Walk, and the path will appear. #HiddenRevelations

Derek H. Suite, M.D.

Have you ever felt something calling you to action, yet found yourself frozen by doubt? That gap between knowing and doing is exactly where transformation lives.

Bold action isn't about hype or hustle—it's about alignment. When you take steps that reflect your deepest values and purpose, you generate a momentum that hesitation could never provide.

As Dr. Derek Suite explores in this episode, your brain literally rewires itself through risk-taking, strengthening neural pathways that make courage more accessible with each bold move.

Most of us wait for complete clarity before moving forward, but that's backward thinking. The biblical story of Peter illustrates this perfectly—he didn't receive confirmation before dropping his nets on the other side; the miraculous catch came after he took action despite his doubts.

This pattern repeats throughout human experience: clarity emerges through movement, not before it.

The hidden truth is that most people don't lack vision or ambition—they lack movement. Fear of failure, perfectionism, social pressure, and misalignment become our greatest saboteurs.

When we worry about what others think or wait for conditions to be perfect, we remain stuck in place while opportunities pass us by.

Your Take Action Tuesday challenge is simple yet profound: What connection do you feel but haven't acted on? What bold step would bring something into alignment for your purpose?

Don't wait for signs—be the signal. Start walking now and let the ground rise beneath your feet.

Remember, it doesn't have to be perfect action, just any action. Because in that movement, you'll discover what was hidden all along.

Join Dr. Suite tomorrow for Win It All Wednesday, where we'll unlock how belief creates unshakable momentum. Until then, walk boldly, think deeply, and move like you've already received your hidden revelation.

STAY AMAZING!

Speaker 1:

Greetings, greetings and welcome. Welcome to the Sweet Spot. It is Take Action Tuesday. Are you ready? Are you ready to take action? Because this is the day that we take action. We never let a Tuesday come and not take action.

Speaker 1:

I'm Dr Derek Sweet. You're listening to the Sweet Spot, beautiful souls. I'm so glad you're back here with me. I'm excited, I'm very excited about this series called Hidden Revelations. Wow, what a topic.

Speaker 1:

Hidden connections that fuel bold action here on Take Action Tuesday. Yes, as you know, I'm a board-certified psychiatrist, I am a performance coach and I'm your partner in uncovering the hidden revelations that drive purpose, performance and yes, peace. So now listen, if you've ever hesitated on a decision, stayed silent when you know you had something to say, or held back from a leap you knew was yours, this episode it's for you. Let's talk about the power and the payoff of bold action. That's right. It's Take Action Tuesday, and today we want to explore the hidden connections that fuel bold action. And why does bold action matter? Well, here's what they don't always tell you Bold action isn't about hype. It's about transformation. When done with clarity and conviction, bold action gives you several things. It gives you momentum, bold steps. When you take bold steps, you will generate a kind of energy that hesitation could never give you. You'll have clarity, you'll stop guessing and you'll start seeing what's real when you take bold action. And guess what? If you're looking for opportunities, doors open when you show up willing and you don't worry about being perfect. You just want to be bold. Fortune favors the bold I read that somewhere. Fortune favors the bold. And you know we always throw in a little neuroscience, neuroplasticity You've heard that term used here where your brain can actually rewire itself. Literally, your brain literally rewires through taking risks. The more you become bold and take action, the stronger your brain becomes and it gets rewired so that you become a very, very powerful being.

Speaker 1:

And the last thing revelation. This is hidden revelations, right? So guess what? Bold action is tied into revelation. You discover what was hidden only after you make the move, only after you take the action. That's the thing.

Speaker 1:

The hidden truth, the hidden revelation today is most people don't lack vision, they don't lack ambition. They don't lack ambition. They lack movement. And you know what's stopping them. I'm going to tell you what sabotages them. What sabotages us, what stops us from taking bold action, are things like fear of failure what if it doesn't work, or perfectionism. I'm not ready yet. This is not perfect. This is where my wife taught me a wonderful line in medical school that I always love and repeat Done is better than perfect. Another thing that stops us from taking bold action is social pressure. What are other people going to think? You would not believe how much that stops us from doing things.

Speaker 1:

I read a book, I think it's by Terry Cole Whitaker, and the book is what you Think of Me is None of my Business. Great book to get. What you Think of Me is None of my Business is none of my business. So I talked about fear of failure. I mentioned perfectionism. We just talked about social pressure.

Speaker 1:

Another one that stops us from taking bold action is misalignment. I'm borrowing from our series on the Secret Sauce, where if your alignment and your actions aren't connected, you get lost. When you're misaligned, you're like in this sort of mindset I don't know if this fits, I don't know who I really am, I'm not sure if this is going to work. When you're misaligned, you start becoming unsure, and that's a really big one, because bold action without alignment and what I mean by that is without inner conviction, without purpose or values it's just noise. Don't be fooled by somebody who's being all bold but they're not aligned with any values. If your bold action doesn't have, like an inner conviction, a purpose, it's not connected to a deeper value. You're just making noise. Connected to a deeper value, you're just making noise. But when you have bold alignment, when you have bold action in alignment, oh, that's when you step into your true purpose, that's when your step reflects who you are, why you are here and what you're becoming. That's not hustle, that's holy motion. You are in holy motion when you're aligned and taking your bold action with your inner convictions.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because you see, when you have alignment, when you have peace in your mind about what you're going to do and you're going to take this bold action, that's a hidden connection, because hidden connections are what's really fueling bold action. Hidden connections are what's really fueling bold action. We see the bold action on the surface. What we often don't see in people who are taking bold action are the hidden connections. Hidden connections are like the roots. They're the roots. Bold action is the fruit. So when you take steps aligned with your story, your calling your your purpose, you reveal what was buried under your doubts. Yeah, when you take that step that's aligned with your deepest inner conviction, when you finally develop the courage to say I'm going to do this and I'm going to walk according to what I believe and what I feel. Yeah, you're revealing what's buried.

Speaker 1:

There's a part of the brain called the salience network. It works with your prefrontal cortex, your brain's CEO. When you take a bold action, your salience network and your prefrontal cortex, they work together and you know what it says to you. Move now, this matters. That's what you says to you. Move now, this matters. That's what you're telling yourself. Move now, this matters. You're not acting out of pressure. You're moving from a position of purpose. Now, let's bring that into the word. Let's bring that into some ancient wisdom. I love putting the ancient wisdom with this because it makes sense. Take Action Tuesday.

Speaker 1:

Anyone, it says in the book of James, anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says, is like someone who looks at their face in a mirror and immediately forgets what they look like. But whoever acts, whoever does, whoever takes action, will be blessed in what they do. That's in the word James 1, verses 22 to 25. Look it up. I'm not kidding you, I didn't make that up. You see that the blessing doesn't come from hearing. The blessing comes from doing, because it says there, literally if they don't do what it says, they're just basically looking in the mirror and they don't know what they look like Hilarious. So the blessing doesn't come from hearing. It doesn't come from just sort of wishing and meditating and analyzing. It comes from doing, from taking action, from walking out what was revealed, from just walking it out, from taking the action. That's the real-life connection we need to make. You could journal all day long, you could talk all night, you could listen to my sweet spot here every single day, but until you take action, my friend, on what you see, the insight will stay locked inside of you and you will not advance. Locked inside of you and you will not advance.

Speaker 1:

Today I'm on a biblical move. Let me give you one biblical example, an ancient wisdom example. It's a good one. In Luke 5, jesus tells Peter who had fished all night with zero success. He had a terrible night fishing. Jesus tells him what? Hey, peter, listen up, throw your nets on the other side of the boat. Now think about this. Peter's been fishing all day, all night, and he is an experienced fisherman. He could have argued. He could have doubted. He could have said Jesus, what are you talking about? Or he could have waited for more confirmation. But you know what he did Instead of just doubting and questioning and calculating, he acted. And when he dropped those nets on the other side, the catch was so big it nearly sank the boat. What's my point? The revelation didn't come before the move. It came because of the move, and that's what I want you to grasp today.

Speaker 1:

On Take Action Tuesday. My friends, that faith has to have motion with it. That's the bold alignment with a hidden connection Faith and works, faith and action, faith and movement. You got to keep going. Never give up. Never give up. J Cole put it this way keep grinding. Your life can change in one year. And even when it's dark out, the sun is shining somewhere.

Speaker 1:

Translation that's not just lyrics, that's a word right there from j cole even when you can't see the payoff, take the step. That's what that translates to, because things can change and will change, because bold action often exposes the light that hesitation tends to hide. I'll say it again Bold action often exposes the light that hesitation hides. So start the thing. Will you please Start the thing. Do it today, send a message. Take the risk, take the today. Send a message, take the risk, take the step. Don't wait. Shift the schedule. Let motion create your clarity today. Don't wait for clarity, don't wait to get more clear. Take an action, take a step and let the movement reveal to you what's hidden.

Speaker 1:

Author Brene Brown put it this way courage starts with showing up and letting yourself be seen. Now, that's not just about being visible, it's about being aligned with your deeper truth. Bold action puts it this way. You know, I know who I am and I'm going to act like it, even if it's scary. Greater is he who's in me, greater is that which is in me than whatever is in the world. If God before me who's against me, I know who I am. You see, that kind of alignment and movement sets up your bold action. That kind of movement creates emotional congruence. Your inner world begins to match your outer action, and that that's where transformation lives, my friend.

Speaker 1:

So here's what I want you to walk with today. Here's an understanding Hidden connections are divine blueprints. You move better when you can see the threads. That random opportunity that's your gut telling you go ahead, take it. It's probably not even random. The other thing is action. Action. This is Take Action Tuesday.

Speaker 1:

So action is how revelation gets verified. You don't confirm it by thinking. You confirm it by taking action. You confirm it by moving. What you can't see standing still, you'll often find it when you start to move. When you go into movement mid-stride, you'll start seeing it. Insight is motion activated. You've got to step out and step forward to see it. It's not going to come to you just sitting there. Bold moves clarify blurred vision. If it's foggy, don't freeze up, my friend. Move through the mist and the path will appear to you. Keep moving. There was that great phrase if you're going through hell, keep going. I think you've heard that quote before. It's a great quote. So here's your Take Action Tuesday tool.

Speaker 1:

Ask yourself what connection do I feel, but I haven't acted on? What bold step would bring something into alignment for me with my purpose, my values, my faith? But I'm not doing it. What action do I need to take today? Even if it's not perfect, then act. It doesn't have to be perfect, it doesn't have to be the best action, just any action.

Speaker 1:

Don't wait for signs. Be the signal. Don't wait for the way to be clear. Start walking now and let the ground. Rise under your feet, figure it out. You'll let your footsteps make the path. If there's no path for you, start with something. Okay, all right Now. Thank you so much for listening. This is the Sweet Spot. I'm Dr Derek Sweet. Thank you so much for being a part of this, this journey on hidden revelations. Tomorrow is Win it All Wednesday, and we're going to unlock how belief, when activated, creates unshakable momentum. You do not want to miss that. So until then, my friend, walk boldly, think deeply and move like. You've already gotten the hidden revelation.
