What's up, witches and bitches?! Welcome back to a podcast full of magic. You guys remember that Olivia Newton John song? This is what it makes me think of. Do you remember it? It was like totally off key (like me) and it was like (Slayer Sings), "You have to believe we are magic, da da da dum dum dum...."
That's what you're in store for this episode. Oh my gosh, you guys, so much stuff, coming at me and a lot of thoughts about, man, this is hard. This. Sucks. Frick. Oh my God. Stuff happening with work. My job's changed and shifted as I think I clued you guys in on and it's report week, meeting week, just A lot of things and traffic's just been shit and see where all of that's going.
Like there's just such this anger and resistance building inside of me. Even the like, fuck the man, right? Like all of that just coming from this place of anger and resentment and resistance. And I was writing through my magic morning pages the other day, a couple weeks ago. I was like, you know what I need?
I need the magic. And if you don't know, the magic is a book. Uh, it's kind of like a follow up to The Secret by Rhonda Bairn, and it's a 28 day gratitude practice. And I've led it twice in, um, a couple of my groups I had. I'm going to do it again. So we're starting this week. If you're listening in real time, jump in with us.
We're going to start Tuesday in the Me First Sisterhood. If you have not experienced this book and it's not real time and you can't jump in, I highly recommend it. What, It's like I thought I knew how to create gratitude and experience gratitude in my life. And after doing this 28 day, uh, days worth of practices, which is in the book, you really come out with a different understanding.
And as soon as I posted this, after this came out of my pages, I was like, add, you really need to shift for what you are grateful for now. I mean, really, I have so much to be grateful for my health, my family. That I have a job that I actually enjoy my job for the most part that, um, you know, that I'm in this beautiful land of Hawaii and, you know, so much on and on that to be grateful for in the health of my girls.
And the list goes on and on of all the things I have to be grateful for. And yeah, it's really easy to get stuck in the, oh, here I go again. I really started to feel like I was on the hamster wheel. Like, I'd wake up and I'd be like, you hit the alarm and it's just Groundhog's Day over and over. It's like, pop up, do the same things, on and on and on.
And I don't want to live in this space where I'm not creating magic every day. I don't know about you guys, but that's no fun, right? Like that's not the vibration I want to be in or that I want to give out to the world. So I thought, you know what? If I lead this book, the magic again. I am going to start to shift those vibrations.
Like you can't help but to do it. Even just me making the post about it will start to shift my vibe. And I try to do gratitude, gratitude practice that I picked up from the first time I did the magic every day, but I'm not always successful at that. So I'm hopeful for that. I had a few other things come at me.
I started listening to infinite research. receiving by Susie Ashmore and that again, you know, any of the law of attraction, manifesting, anything you listen or do, it all is rooted in the same place of being grateful for what it is. is you want now and being grateful coming from a place of gratitude for all you have right now, even a life coach school podcast.
I listened to with Burt Castillo, who one of her more recent ones, she was talking about big dreaming and creating big, huge goals and how she believes that this is our path in life, that we're intended to push the limits and see who we are getting. going to become in pursuit of these goals and the things we want, and that we often don't take time to determine the things we want, which is a big reason I created the group I have, the Me First Sisterhood, and a lot in a big part, what we do is start to dream again and dream for ourselves rather than dream for our families, our employers, everybody else on the planet, but us.
So Brooke was talking about this in her podcast about dreaming big and pushing the envelope of who you want to become. But also you have to remember to be so thankful for everything right now in the small things like the cup of coffee, the wind blowing through the trees, the sun on my face. Um, I'm getting ready to hit the pool with Millie here in a little bit and just the opportunity that I get to have to swim outside in November in this beautiful lap pool and just being so grateful for that and starting to shift some of my vibrations with that.
I feel a bit of overwhelmed coming on just with all of the things do at work and things I want to create here with you, you know, is. You and I are creating this next badass version of ourselves. And how can I put more things together so we can all create more things, right? Like that, I love to do that stuff.
And I get lit up by that. I know my soul's purpose is wrapped up in there. And yet, It's easy to stay on the hamster wheel, right? And so many times I think we say, you know, I don't know what my purpose is. I don't know what I meant to do. But if we keep doing the same thing over and over again, without gratitude for what we do have, but also without intention for where we want to go and taking those little baby steps, you know, what we get is more of that.
So as I was sitting here bitching about my commute bitching about working for the man bitching about the lack of vacation time just Straight up bitching about everything you guys. I mean, I almost couldn't stand myself I'm, like if I hadn't been through menopause already i'd be like did I have pms this week or what?
You know, so as I saw myself just bitching and moaning and complaining. I thought Yeah, you gotta shift this because You have so much to be thankful for, but also we know that if I just keep having those thoughts about how hard everything is and how much traffic sucks and how much all of this, I guess what you get, you get more of that versus making Einstein time in the car and I magically arrive there, even though there's two hours of traffic, I get there in 20 minutes, that stuff happens, I can make it happen because you got to believe we are magic.
Okay, that's probably enough of that song on this episode. Oh my goodness, you guys. Anyhow, I'm going to dive into this switch to gratitude. And as we're heading into the final month of the year, just really bringing my focus to how can I be and just vibes of gratitude, joy, make this part about family, friends, co workers.
you, energy with my sisters, all of that. How can I just bring more of that in my life so I can exist in more and more gratitude and not just the solitude of just feeling like I'm trudging through a blizzard of my life. You know, like, Oh, here we go again and get up my body feels everything just feels heavy.
And I want to lighten up one of my favorite meditation instructors, Roger Gabriel from the Chopra Center. He he used to tell us, Hey, you guys know what enlightenment means, right? He goes, it means you got to lighten up. He's like, you guys got to stop taking yourself so seriously. And I always just love that.
I think it's a great reminder about life and to think about it in the aspect of, if we're these infinite beings here having this human experience, what do we want to create in this human life? What do you think you were put here to create? What do you want to do? Like, I'm so called to explore and travel.
I love change. I love meeting people. I love interacting. And yet I also love my solitude. I love self reflection. I love nature. I like to be out there. in it. And those, you know, knowing these things about yourself, like, what are your likes and your dislikes? And also, where do you want to go with them? So one of the first things we do in the magic is very similar to the first thing we do in the me first guide process, like as I lead these quarterly events, where we're getting together and visioning, planning, dreaming, and putting the plan into action.
I mean, this is how shit happens. I was telling Lexi this week, I said, you know, when I Talk to people about things I've done the last seven years or being a life coach or all of those things what I talk about is That I think is most remarkable. I'm like, yeah Well, I left corporate america bought an rv and traveled the country for a few years, you know, that's like really freaking remarkable That's the thing i'm most proud of.
Yeah, I lost 130 pounds but Through that, through not shoving my face and all, and all of that in looking at what I wanted to create with my life, I was like, what would it look like? What if I did this thing? What if I was this person? So as I'm creating this next book, version of myself, getting real specific about, Hey, what does it look like when Millie's graduated and I'm off traveling the world and running an online business and free from the man?
What does that look like? And how can I just be so, uh, So grateful for this time I have right now, setting up the runway for that. When I think about those two things together, I get really excited. So this is the beginning part of the magic. She has you sit down and you guys could do this at home. Do it today, do it tomorrow, challenge yourself when next time you journal or on the weekend.
Take the different aspects of your life and ask yourself what is it you really want? What would be the biggest dream? Don't worry about the house. But what would just be so amazing for your health and body, for your career, for your relationships? What things do you want? Do you know how to answer these things?
Most of us don't. And then we sit to do it and we really get stymied. So when I do the quarterly planning events, I lead a guided meditation that really guides people through what like prompts them to see things like of their perfect house and their perfect day, you know, what would this look like? And then your job as the person that's creating the vision is to notice when your brain wants to shut you down.
When it wants to get into the house, you have to shut it. No, it doesn't matter if you don't think you could have it or You don't have the money for it or it wouldn't work with your kid's schedule or whatever it is. You have to shut that part down. You have to allow yourself to dream or you're not going to ever have this next place you go to, right?
We kind of get stuck in that feeling of, Oh, the traffic, Oh, the day to day job versus the opportunity in each day of how can I make one small little change today? Where can I get an opportunity to put some magic in the world today? So I'm really excited to make this shift. I'm going to let this be a short sweet podcast this week.
Just a little note to get dreaming, get shifting ourselves into vibes of gratitude, especially the season that can be a lot of like buying gifts, wrapping gifts. I'm all about giving some gifts. I love to give gifts. Much more than I like to receive them. I'm weird like that, but I'm also, it's not my love language, but I love to give them to people that really like to get gifts.
It's so fun, isn't it? So as we're in this season of, it can be a lot of gifts and parties and events, things like that. Just remembering to, how can I just be so grateful for Everything that is right now and just know that I have everything I need. I am all that I need and I'm so, so eternally grateful for each and every moment and how can I channel more of that in my life and a little less resistance to.
The traffic, the man, all that stuff. You know what I'm saying, witches and bitches. All right, with that, go off and have a magical week. Go bust out some old school Olivia Newton John, get your book, The Magic Out, get in the sisterhood if you're not in there yet, or join me at a, Planning event check the show notes.
I'm sure you'll see something we're doing. Oh, and there's the free visioning in there So you could use that to kind of dial into some of these things you might want I just did a more recent one that I really like a little bit better I think I'm gonna update that link too. So I'll drop that down there for you guys.
All right I hope you have an amazing week witches and bitches. Let me know all about it Thank you so much for listening and until next week slayer out
