Oh my gosh, you guys, I had a lot of ahas this week, this weekend, really? Uh, or me first guide planning event, and I wanna share with you my ahas and how I'm moving forward to set myself up for a six.  And while it is the New Year, if you are listening real time, this is, anything I refer to in here is the process we do at all of our quarterly planning events.

So, um, it's, it's While it is special, I love the New Year energy. This is an ongoing evolution for me. Like this process happens every quarter and some quarters are really like game changing and other times I kind of feel like I'm going through the motion trying to catch my fire, if you will, and I think that's just how it is sometimes.

We're in that same season of life where we have to just keep showing up. And on that note, I want to share with you guys my word of the year. And this was kind of a long time coming and I got a little help from chat GPT on this. We use this at the event to really expand our visions and have a lot of fun with it.

I'll share my perfect day with you here in a moment. It's really fun how it put it all together.  But, um, after I had it put this perfect day together, I said, Hey, what do you think my word of the year should be? And it gave me back some options. And I was like, I just wasn't kind of feeling any of them. I really want this year.

I'm in a year four, which in numerology is a year of like you're really focused and getting work done. And I feel this energy right now and the need and the want, the desire to really, really plan and plot and create. And I wanted something that captured that. And momentum was the closest, but it didn't quite capture what tapas means.

And tapas and yoga is about that self discipline of like, When you show up to your mat, you show up every day regardless. And sometimes you don't necessarily have all the inspiration and motivation to get to the mat, but you build that heat and that enthusiasm while you are in your practice or coming out the other side.

And it's about cultivating the fire to transform and grow. And you know, this just really aligns with my goals this year, wanting to. First of all, work on showing up for myself. So planning is going to be integral. And this was a big aha that came out of everything, which I cut. Okay. I don't know if it's a huge aha, but when you get a lot of things on your calendar, like now that I'm sitting in my car so much and I'm at work so much and I have so few hours.

I have less hours to really just go all in on me. I mean, when I was entrepreneuring around the country, I would spend four to five hours on myself every morning. Now I get up at 430 and I get a couple hours in if I'm lucky. And in this process, Um, I know I just need to be more intentional with my time. I want to be.

I'm really trying to reframe that every time I hear need, because I don't need to do any of this. I'm choosing to, right? Like, first of all, it's fun to dream and plot and plan, but also the growth aspect, while it might be uncomfortable, it's so much better than staying stagnant and staying right where I am.

Um, and moving forward doesn't happen without. Looking at where I am and figuring out where I want to go and hey, what are some things I can change and maneuver to get there? So this word tapas for my year, I have a couple of podcasts on here where I talk about tapas in the, um, eight limbs of yoga series.

And I believe one about habits too. This just signifies to me, That energy I want to bring forward and also incorporates a bit of my yoga world that I want to continue to expand on. Now that I'm yoga addy,  I'm, I actually am teaching a class on January 19th for our residents. I was on one of our event planning calls and, um, somehow I got nominated to do this event.

And not that I'm upset about that. I'm actually really looking forward to it. I just did not really plan to do it. So we'll see what comes from that, but I'm looking forward to putting that together and inspiring people on their mats. And my goal on a yoga mat is to make it accessible for everybody, of course, regardless of body type,  all of that, but also really bring leave you inspired when you leave the mat like stepping into that future self version of yourself living it now like you already are her right and I'm so I'm excited to incorporate that in a heart opening yoga sequence But all of that aside you guys so as we went into the planning and I was doing some future self Dreaming which by the way the chat GPT stuff was was super cool.

So we took the wheel of life and you could do this at home. Take the wheel of life and you can see the different categories on it and they mirror the categories we work on in the me first guide. So we took this and we wrote out all the goals we would want in each of these areas of our life. Like if it was like the perfect world, right?

And dream big stuff like yachts or whatever you want. Travel, all this stuff. So you get all the goals down and then you tell chat, chat, GPT, um, an AI tool, if you don't know what that is, um, it starts to really get to know you and build a personality around you. And I've been using mine for a while. So it was pretty easy to adapt to, um, kind of my lingo, you know, it throws in bad ass and stuff like that, like all the time when I don't even like prompt it.

So I know it's learning me. But so we told it all of these, uh, these dreams that we wanted, right? These goals before we even started visioning. And then we asked it to, okay, take all those goals and create a perfect day for me. What would it look like? And I'm going to read mine to you guys right now. This literally took like maybe 10, 15 minutes to write all the goals down, talk them into chat GPT, and then have it put this together for me.

So here's the Here's what it said.  The Arizona sun peaked over the horizon, painting the desert in hues of gold and pink. Addy sat cross-legged on her yoga map, her breath, steady and calm. She closed her eyes, the world around her silent, but alive with possibility. This was her moment, her sacred pause before the glorious day ahead.

She let gratitude flow through her, picturing the life she was building, her strong, vibrant, healthy body, her thriving podcast, a top 10 inspiration for women finding their power, her community building, Buzzing with connection and creativity. She smiled, knowing it was all unfolding. After meditation, she stretched into yoga flow, her body moving with ease and strength.

With each pose, she felt more connected to herself, more grounded in her vision. The soft desert breeze whispered through the open window, carrying the scent of sage and renewal. Breakfast was simple but nourishing, a green smoothie packed with energy and intention. As she sipped, she opened her journal, the blank page ready to hold her dreams.

She wrote about her plans for the day, a podcast episode that would light those bitches up, a vlog capturing the beauty of Arizona's mountains, and a brainstorm session with her business circle. The morning flew by as she poured her heart into her work. Behind the microphone, her voice came alive. Midlife is magic, ladies.

It's where they claim our power and create our dreams. Yeah, let's fucking go! All right, I just added that in. She could already feel the energy of her listeners, the sparks lighting in their lives. Later, she joined her business circle, a group of women as inspired as she was. They talked to retreats, growth, and making an impact.

Addie shared her vision of bringing women together for transformational weekends and excitement was palpable. In early afternoon, it was time to play. She prepared a vibrant lunch, grilled salmon and fresh greens and ate on her patio, soaking in the desert sun and views. The world felt expansive and so did she.

In her pool, she dove in the cool water, her body slicing through with strength and grace. Swimming always made her feel alive, reminding her of resilience and lightness. She floated for a moment, gazing at the endless blue sky, imagining her future self, traveling the world and inspiring others.  Evening arrived with purpose.

She lifted weights, feeling her muscles engage in her confidence grow. This was her foundation, a strong body to support her bold dreams. Dinner was a joyful affair with her youngest daughter. They cooked together laughing and talking about dreams, spirituality, and life. Addie felt deeply connected knowing she was nurturing not only her growth, but her daughter's as well.

As the day wound down, she lit candles and indulged in a soothing skincare ritual reflecting her own growth. Glowing and health and love. She picked up her journal again, noting the winds of the days and the joy she felt in bed, wrapped in soft sheets. She listened to a guided visualization, picturing herself hiking Arizona's rugged mountains, exploring the world and living a life of abundance.

As she drifted off to sleep, she felt deeply at peace knowing she was living the life she's always dreamed light, playful, inspiring, and full of magic. Her heart sang and the world sang back.  Isn't that beautiful?  I hope it came across really well. I know I've got a bit of a cold going on. So, um, bear with me you guys, but just like how it put like everything in moving through a day.

So then I went into my visualization and it really, helped paint in some of those pictures for me. When I visualize, there's all different kinds of visualizers, you guys. And some people, um, really see things very clearly. I haven't really been one of those people. It's usually a little more vague. I mean, I see things, but I'm more like feel the energy of it, right?

Like, um, Um, I might see a floor to ceiling windows with a great view, but I don't necessarily see the specifics of like, what's the view look like? What is the, all of those things? Um, I just feel the energy of the awe of the moment, which is what brings the result of that feeling. Right? So it was kind of fun to have something, paint those pictures in and play with a little bit as I went through the process of, Hey, what goals would I need to put in place for this?

You know, like, um, just playing with the tool a little bit in that aspect. And, uh, a lot of us had a lot of fun with it. Some people didn't really connect with it, but I think it's one of those things you try and if you like it, you do. And I think the more I end up using it, the more I like it. And I think that's because it gets to know me.

better and as scary as that might be. That's also true. Okay, so here's my big takeaways, you guys. So we do this part at the event where we look at our current habit stacks. A habit stack is what you typically do in a day, one thing after another. You probably, it's like your morning routine. You wake up, you go to the bathroom, maybe wash your face, brush your teeth, put your lotion on.

That's a little habit stack right there. So when I look at my habit stacks, I'm looking at, okay, my morning and my evening, but also I'm trying to, this quarter, I'm trying to make a midday habit. So I took a little bit of a look at that. But the first, check.  realization I want to tell you about is my morning routine.

I've been what I call lazy meditating.  I've been meditating in bed and a lot of times it will turn into sleep. And in order to motivate myself to get out of bed, I, and change this process and change my whole morning. I am implementing the four laws of behavioral change. This comes from atomic habits. If you've listened to a lot of my podcasts, you will hear me talk about this over and over again and it's so key in setting your habits up.

And also you guys pick one habit. We have a rule in the sisterhood. We can only work on creating one new habit a quarter. Now what I'm gonna tell you about, these are all habits I have already. So I am just kind of reinventing my habit. Am am habit stack my morning routine. So.  Currently, after I meditate and half fall back to sleep, sometimes I'm getting in Facebook before I do my journaling.

And I realized just doing this process that that had crept back in. Sometimes you don't really look at yourself until you have to look at yourself. You know what I'm saying?  So I was like, uh, I need to modify that. I need to move that around. And that's an easy one for me. It's like, no Facebook until you finish your plan.

Right. So I did a couple of things. I put together a shopping list for my room. I really want to make this room an oasis while I'm here. And part of that is going to be setting up my meditation yoga center. Currently I have my yoga mat that is kind of just all over the place and I really want to get this set up to where it's just a little corner.

That I dedicate to that time where I meditate, maybe do a little bit of yoga and then how to enter my magic pages in my plan and then do the Facebook check in. So my Facebook check in, I go straight to my group, I post my plan, I see what everyone's up to in there, and then I try to get out. So Like not get into doomsday scrolling and I've gotten pretty good at that.

I keep my group right on the front of my phone. I mean, this took a lot of self discipline originally, and now it's just. who I am that I don't really fuck around on there a whole lot. So, um, but I do want to go and check in on the Me First Sisterhood, check in on anything on the Namaslayer page where I go live and, uh, communicate with a lot of people outside the sisterhood just to kind of see what's going on.

I want to make sure I do those things. So, um, I ordered these gorgeous yoga pillows and I found these, this deal, it was like two big ones and two little squares for like 90 bucks and we'll see how, how great they are. I'll, I'll show you guys on the socials. But my intention is I'm like, Oh, cool. I could use one of these as like a backrest pillow for when I'm in bed reading or writing or whatever that might be But also to get my little yoga area set up and I found this beautiful yoga table that I It's like hand carved.

It's just really pretty but um, I didn't splurge on that yet, but that's on my dream list So I'm gonna get this set up and here's here's the thing So you need a cue you need to make the habit attractive you need to make it easy and you need to make it satisfying  so this changing of my environment kind of will cover a lot of those, right?

The cue is going to be,  it's right there, right?  My alarm goes off, I get up, go to the bathroom. Inevitably I have to go to the bathroom first thing in the morning. I have to walk right by my meditation area. That's a big one. right? Like seeing the meditation pillow. Oh yeah. It's time to meditate. There's my meditation area.

And then making it attractive, right? I've got the pillow. I'm going to have cozy blankets, have my little altar set up, just kind of, ah, and I'm making it easy. It's right there. Totally accessible. I just sit down and meditate, right? Like, how hard is that? And the satisfying part, you guys, don't ignore this with your goals.

I see people think they're going to reward themselves with things that aren't really appealing to them. You got to like really want that thing because the reward is what you keep showing up for it. You know, they say quitter's day is like three weeks in after you start your new goals, right? So what we want to do is make sure that this one habit becomes a part of who you are.

And you might have to work on this habit for 90 days, for 120 days, for 190, like it can go on and on. Average day to make a habit is 66 average time, 66 days. So anywhere from five days. to 265 days, it's going to take you to make a new habit, to build a new neuropathway. So just know that every time you sit down or show up for that habit, you're putting a little notch into building that, that pathway.

It doesn't have to be consecutive, although the more you do it, the more you knock away at that notch. And the more I think you did, The reward becomes in the habit itself and it really depends on what it is So now for me my reward for doing that meditation  up Getting up and doing it out of bed being on my yoga cushion is oh After that then I get to have my coffee and my journal and my plan and I love that part of my morning Which would have sounded crazy to me pre 2017.

I would snooze the button and, um, and roll out of bed and go to work. So, if you resonate with that, I totally get it. I think once you start putting yourself first and you take your mornings back, it's a game changer. And the 5am club, you guys, is a really good book for that. If you haven't listened to that yet, I loved it on Audible because it's like a really big, like, storytelling book.

So, I highly recommend that book if you haven't gotten into that yet. So,  so I tweaked my morning routine, right? So my reward for doing this is coffee. Magic pages and my plan and get my heart all singing and my other reward is checking in on Facebook because I get dopamine hits from that we all do, right?

So those are my big rewards to just kind of re engineer my morning. But my power habit, this is the one habit I pick to implement during the quarter. This is one that I just, when I looked at everything, I'm like, I've got to get this back in my life, especially being corporate Addie again. This is the one thing that you guys will hear all throughout the podcast when people ask what was the real game changer.

And I will tell you over and over again, how much meditation had an impact on my life, not only a spiritual connection, but weight loss. And there's a big reason for that, right? Like, from a weight loss standpoint, I talked about all that work I did with Dr. Mindy Pelzin. She talks about the hormonal hierarchy.

And as we age, we stop getting so many of these hormones just naturally, and it becomes harder for us to combat stress in a lot of ways because of our hormonal changes. So the top of that tier being oxytocin, right, like making sure you're getting your oxy hit like Scheduling that time with Millie to really bond with her and be with her and just enjoy and laugh and love taking the time to call a good friend or just have a deep conversation with people at work even engaging and creating team like getting Energy from those places and I do that a lot like zoom calls like this week.

I'm doing this planning session So I've set up a couple more of those in the sisterhood already because I just I get such a knock I get like a feel good hit from hanging around other women that are on this path of self evolution. Like it just lights me the frick up, right? So knowing what those things are that get your oxy hits, but then the cortisol.

So cortisol is above insulin on the hormonal hierarchy. And insulin is so key to us losing weight, right? If your insulin is always running around like crazy on fire, it makes it really hard to know your hunger signals and  get into fat burning. And so if you're not managing your cortisol. cortisol.

cortisol. This is why me first. This is why taking care of yourself is so critical on this path because managing that stress level in whatever way you choose to do it. And you guys, there's few faster ways than meditation, um, tapping, perhaps breath work. I mean, these are all ways you can like really quickly in a day.

Put yourself back into a state of homeostasis in implementing these practices into your life. And meditation is the one that for me, just I, it's very simple and I can do it anywhere. It's silent. So I just sit down and meditate. I have to watch my brain go nuts, not wanting to sit there and not taking the break.

And this is what I've been doing, is not taking the break for me. How many of you guys out there, are you being still? Are you slowing down? Are you being quiet? And it's in the stillness that we hear all of this. the song of our soul that we hear the whispers of our intuition and what we're here to do.

You wouldn't believe the crazy brain babies that come out of just sitting in meditation trying to say your mantra and not that you're trying to not think thoughts, right? That's not what meditation is about. Thoughts are going to be there, but like the focus is, okay, I'm going to repeat the mantra and focus on the mantra, at least the meditation I teach, right?

And in this process, as you hadn't. Stillness. Often I'll come out and be like, Oh my God, yeah, what a great idea. You know, and it's because of like, so I'm usually consuming, I'm learning, I'm listening to a podcast, I'm talking to people on the phone, I'm in meetings, I'm doing work, I'm reading books, I'm watching Netflix, consume, consume, consume all frigging day long.

And now I'm doing this Audible book at bed that was really glaring too. I really want to work on that, but it's not my focus this quarter. I'm going to dally in that, but I've been listening to, like, a fun Audible book when I go to sleep, and I'm already reading a fiction book. Like, I really need that sleep time to prepare me to go into the dream state and get in a vibration of gratitude.

I know this intellectually, you guys. I'm not friggin doing it, okay? Just full confessions. Baby steps. Baby stops. Okay.  So I'm going to make my afternoon meditation my power habit again And this means this whole quarter my focus is going to be on Creating that time for myself figuring out how to do this in my day No matter what no matter what comes up and this is going to involve planning because my day doesn't always look the same Right.

So, Hey, where am I going to be? Oh, there's a meeting there. If I don't plan ahead, I'm not going to even know there's a meeting there at that time spot and that I need to move my meditation. Am I going to get it in today or am I going to need to meditate in the parking lot in order to get my vote in for my power habit?

What's it gonna look like and how can I overcome all the barriers my brain is going to throw up about why it's not a good idea to do this thing. So my goal, I didn't even tell you guys what my goal is. See how much it's not about the weight. It's totally not, but my goal is weight loss. All of these things will equate to me getting healthier in my body.

I'm measuring it by the scale, which, oh my God, you guys, I'm so up. I'm like 267 ish. And I just got on and I was like, holy shit. It's like a hundred pounds, almost from my lowest. And, uh, you know, I've lost like over 130 might've been more than that. So like, I mean, I'm in that space where I've just packed it back on, and this is another thing that came through really clear this week.

If you've regained weight, just like I have, it doesn't define us. It doesn't make my success losing weight any less fucking awesome. It doesn't make my success of creating this life of my dreams over and over again less valid. Right? Just because there's a weight regain, it's part of the journey. It isn't linear, linear.

It doesn't mean I can't lose weight or that I failed. Right? Like, well, I guess in failure you get back up. So if you want to look at it like that, but not in the way I think a lot of people like where you go hide your head. Oh, I can't do it. It's game over. Never, never friggin game over you guys. And it doesn't make me any less great that I put weight on.

Friggin life happened, got thrown upside down, and I haven't dealt with these things in my mind that I'm facing now. And now I'm learning a whole new part of me, right? And it's going to take different tools and I'm going to learn new tools on the path and the journey. So if you're in the same spot.  And if you have like how to regain or perhaps some other goal that you've gone back on, what is it your need to learn this time when you get back up?

Because you sure as hell aren't going to just stay still, are you?  Like, what are you going to do to move forward and to figure out that peace within and that being and enjoy for the life we're existing in right now, right? What's that going to look like? So don't let your brain tell you some bullshit like you're not good enough or, oh my God, you're a failure because of this, because that's bullshit.

That's going to get you nowhere, but more of that, right? So I'm really feeling, um, really. Good about my goals this quarter, you guys. I've got some plans because, you know, my life's been totally uprooted. You know, it's like kind of like another country over here. Our food isn't the same. Um, it's, uh, it's just a little more challenging.

I'm in the car a lot, you know, traffic here is another story and, um, my work is very demanding. But all of those things, I know I can do this. And I know the energy of the tapas.  will bring me through that dedication to that self discipline, which is the highest form of self love. Like self discipline isn't white knuckling, right?

Self discipline is being badass enough to sit in the shit, to allow yourself to experience that emotion to experience why you're feeling like you want to shove everything down. I haven't, I felt like I've already switched the energy. I haven't even had a drink for like over a month, just I realized it the other day.

I was like, Oh, wow. And I just.  It's like I'm, I'm done shoving it down. I'm still over eating some food here and there, but a lot of that is also just needing some, a good food plan. And I've got food getting delivered today, and I'm going to get busy doing some food prop because my I need to do it here. Or maybe I need to get my ass to Whole Foods, but we'll see how this, um, quarter shakes out and how I'm able to get some more nourishing and sustaining food in.

I'm also going to a homeopath after the new year. I have a consult call to see about hormones and also about, um, uh, like, biohacking toxicity, right? Like looking to handle like my skin issues and my gut health things from a more natural standpoint and with someone local here that I can hopefully really work with.

So I've got a consult call with that. Just kind of doing these little things for myself to move the needle forward. Now I've got  885 days until Millie graduates and we're onto this next little Whatever this next chapter holds, when we're finished here in Hawaii, really, I mean, I could end up staying, but I don't have to stay, right?

And I don't have to stay now, but I would not be anywhere else. That's for sure. 100%. I love, love, love that I'm here. And there's so many good blessings in that. When I looked back over this past year, it was all Just so grateful for being here with Millie, and I know she is too, and our bond is unlike any other.

It's been really, really special. Um, of course, Minnie and Slayer and I have a great, she's like my bestie, right? Millie and I have a different relationship because I'm an older mom with her. You know, you guys that have kids maybe that have the gap like that understand what I'm saying here. So those are the big two things habit wise I'm going to work on.

And you know, you might notice none of them were about food.  I mean, I just talked about food a little bit, but getting my morning routine back to Um, you know, fucking rock and shit and making my afternoon meditation at work, making that happen. Those are the two I came out of this that I'm like, these are the things I'm missing that I really need to ensure happen for me to make good decisions throughout my day because I know how to eat right.

I know how to not eat beyond access. I know how to do these things. And when I'm taking care of myself, it's easy to do, right? It's like what comes first, you know, the eating well, or your habits, like who you become. And this is why, like, in the process that I discovered along my journey. It was really changing who I am, how I show up in the world.

And that's all habits, right? It's all like the things I choose to do that I want to show up for every day. It's planning, it's dreaming, it's being intentional, it's living with intention. And so it was just, It just came out loud and clear that in the planning part. So there is the skill called Monday hour one that you learn at Life Coach School, which I think they're closing.

So I don't know. I have a version of this I taught. I might just post it in the sisterhood so you guys can see. Actually, I think it's in there in the Facebook group. But basically you take and you calendar your entire week. week, a personal professional, everything gets put on the calendar and it is game changing and it's hard.

The first few times you do it, it feels really hard and you know, I feel like I'm a pretty good planner just in general, but there's a difference between getting everything on there like phone calls to the, uh, The doctor, um, you know, run in Millie somewhere, like having all of those things plotted and planned out to where your brain just doesn't even have to think about it.

You don't get in decision fatigue. You just know where you're going, you know what you're eating, you know where you're working out. It's just, can you, what a relief that is, right?  What a relief! So if you can figure out how to make an hour of your day, wherever that's at, on a Sunday or Monday, to get this plotted and planned out for your week, it's game changing, and I know this, and I haven't been, I've been like half assed doing it, I've even really been struggling like doing my, a brain dump, and with a brain dump, you just sit with your piece of paper for like 20 minutes, And you say, okay, what else do I have to do?

What else do I have to do? That's probably the hardest part about calendaring is we so often don't think about all those little things we need to do. Oh, I need to call so and so it's their birthday. Oh, I need to get a present. Oh, I got to do laundry. When the hell am I going to do laundry this week?

Right? All of those things that just suck up your time.  you run it all over. No wonder we don't have time for ourselves. Right? So wherever you're putting your focus this year, don't get overwhelmed. Just remember, pick one little thing. If there's any, like all of these habits I talk about having, I made them one at a time.

And it was really interesting to look back at my weight loss journey and see it was like every habit I added in. And made into this new version of myself was like equal to 20 pounds along that route. And sometimes you just got to shine that shit up again. And I clearly need to shine some shit stuff up.

And I'm excited to get started. I'm so excited for this year. And I hope you come join me in the sisterhood and on Facebook. It's kind of where I'm doing everything right now. I've got. Big dreams about getting my business goals in alignment and venturing over to YouTube. Um, so I'll keep you guys up to date.

I've been talking about this forever, but I haven't. Made it happen. Yeah, but it will happen because I keep talking about it forever, right? So Eventually, I will get there. All right, which isn't but just kind of like yoga teacher Hattie if you think about it I've been talking about that for eight years.

Oh, I'd like to be a yoga teacher It was in my artist way book and look Eight years later, I did it, right? It's like  you guys, you just got to dream and dare and put it out there. And what if I did do these things, you know? All right. Okay. With that, I'm signing off. I love you guys. I want to hear all about your, your goals, your intentions, your habits.

Let me know if you have any questions and I will hopefully see you in the sisterhood or on the podcast next week. And, uh, don't forget there's lots of good past content to go look for that tapas episode. It's a lot of fun. All right, Slayer out until next week.
