Welcome back, everyone. Welcome back, Mr. Tracy Wright. What's up, Trace?
SPEAKER_04How are you, my friend?
SPEAKER_03I am running in circles. It's been one of those days, my friend. It's been I'm sure you fully understand.
SPEAKER_04I'm never quite sure where you're gonna be every time I talk to you. Uh I call I text you, I'm like, where's Jason in the world? What's he doing today? And you never quite know.
SPEAKER_03It's it's a it's a mystery, dude. It's it's like where's it's like where's Waldo for sporting clothes, but yeah, you gotta get you one of those hats. Yeah, yes, there you go. Yeah, where's Waldo hat? So how you doing, Trace? I last time we talked, the shoulder was eh a little out of place, but uh you you also said you've been picking up the gun again.
SPEAKER_04You know, it's starting to feel better. Uh my physical therapist told me to kind of work in in terms of like a round count. So last time I shot, I got shoot 150 rounds. So that's what I've worked my way up to. So the shoulder's definitely feeling more solid.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I think you know, I've shot once in five months. So the performance is not where I want it to be, unfortunately. But uh shoulders feeling better, and that that makes me optimistic. So that's good.
SPEAKER_03Good, good. Well, we need to get you back busting some birds, man.
SPEAKER_04I'm working on it, brother.
SPEAKER_03We need you back sooner than later.
SPEAKER_04It shouldn't be this hard.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, hey, listen, speaking of upcoming tournaments, we do have attorney talk to get to real quick. Awesome.
SPEAKER_02It's tourney talk. Brought to you by Scorechaser.
SPEAKER_03All right. So the 2027 Southeast Regional will be open June the 10th. So that's coming up really quick. You guys put that on your calendars. Going to be open on Score Chaser June the 10th, and that shoot will be held at the old Hudson Plantation April 13th and 18th, 2027. Also, for 2027, it's already open. The 2027 US Open, uh, which will be at MM. Um, it is now open. So if you haven't got registered for that, you better get over there and get in line. You're probably gonna have to be on a wait list. But also, Scorechaser wanted me to remind everyone that the pro members will not automatically be registered for the tournament anymore. If you would like to continue the concierge registration service, you'll have to upgrade to the new premier membership. So look into that. There's some ins and outs with that. As a pro member, you'll still continue to have access to in-tournament text messaging, uh, the tournament explore map, the my scores page, the subscription link to your calendar, all that stuff will still be active. But the new premiere membership is gonna continue the concierge service. So if you haven't got that email yet or whatever, make sure you get over to Scorechaser and check that out. So you'll have to upgrade if you like that concierge. Did you ever use that, Tracy? The concierge service that they had.
SPEAKER_04I did. I liked it a lot. Honestly, it was great. So, and I didn't know this information, so it's good to be uh uh it'll uh catch me up to things.
SPEAKER_03Well, that's what we're here for, Trace. We're here to to edumicate. We're here we're here to educate you, so good. Um speaking of educate, we've got some new products. Not both of them are involved with the podcast. One of them is one of them is Proferum, uh, which was introduced to me through the guys at Grey Rose, uh, Mr. Dominic Bethel and Carl Holland. Now, at the time I did this interview, um, I had not tried the product yet. So it was very interesting to me, and I was really intrigued by it. And then I got to actually go out and use it. But I want you, Trace, to listen to this interview that I did with uh Mr. Julian Kahn, uh very interesting individual and very interesting how this product's made and what it does. You know, Tracy, if you think about our sport for a second, it's like technology very slowly trickles in. Have you noticed that?
SPEAKER_04I do notice that. We we get it all last.
unknownWe get it all last.
SPEAKER_03So, but it it it's but if you it it slowly trickles in, but we have come a long way in a short time. It is as crazy as that sounds. I know that doesn't logically make sense and it comes in slow, but we went real fast, real short. But you know, traps and electronics and all that kind of thing, as far as the shotgun technology goes, I really don't think there's been leaps and bounds made with that. But there has been, you know, upgrades to the ammunition and the components and all that kind of stuff. But when you get something like this, this Pro Farm that comes along and the way it works and what it does, it's it's intriguing, you know?
SPEAKER_04Well, you know, we're not running around with cheap shotguns most of the time. I think if you look in the rack at most of the majors, um, we've all got shotguns that we need to protect and we need to put good products on. So this is definitely um something I've been looking forward to. I've seen it, you know, I've seen it in some of the stuff uh, you know, in uh the UK and over the and over the and across the pond, I guess you could say, but uh I have not had any access to it yet.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, that's that's something that's kind of well said. If you go back 15 years ago, uh or even farther, there was very few over-unders at the top of the game, right? Like they're I mean, they were they were there, don't get me wrong, over-unders have been around for a bazillion years. But primarily, I mean, you know, you look at guys like Anthony, right? Like Anthony won his first majors with an automatic. In fact, a lot of them did. Um, you know, the the Carlisles and all those guys going back, they all sought autos. So um what you're saying, yeah. You know, if you if you take a look at it, uh, a gun rack at an average tournament nowadays, there's some there's some serious coins sitting there in the rack.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely, absolutely.
SPEAKER_03So when a way comes along to better protect it, I'm I'm like Ode on Garfield. My ears perk up real quick.
SPEAKER_04I was one of those auto guys, and now uh now I've got a a pretty expensive Krieg off, and I'm I'm always trying to put the best I can find on it.
SPEAKER_03Nice. Well, speaking of expensive, what one more quick little tidbit before we get on to our guest. The dead pear gun is finally up now. Um, be looking for that. Um, hopefully by the time you're hanging, I'll have the link down in the show description. Get your raffle tickets, folks. Uh, we'll be drawing for that gun at the Dead Pearl Blast in December at Rocky Creek, uh, December 11th and 12th. This is a beautiful gun. We kind of shied away from all the custom stuff that we did last year. Some people love that, some people don't. So just trying to appeal to the masses. But uh get your raffle tickets. This is gonna be a beautiful gun. And again, your choice of barrels when you win, you can either get the high rib, the mid, or the excuse me, the ramp tapered rib or the flat rib. Beautiful, beautiful gun. Um, black receiver. It's not silver with the engraving this time, it's black with with the gold color on each side. Really pretty gun. 32-inch barrels, you're gonna get the um tie chokes with it in the case, the whole nine yards. Uh, but check it out. I think the value on this one's 23,000, Trace.
SPEAKER_04My goodness. What are tickets going for, Jason?
SPEAKER_03They're 75 bucks a piece or two for 100.
SPEAKER_04For a gun like that, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yep, for a gun like that.
SPEAKER_04If you if you hit it, you're gonna get a gun like that for 75 bucks.
SPEAKER_03Yes. Yeah, you're exactly right. And of course, the proceeds are going to benefit uh kids and clays. Uh the auction will be done through, and excuse me, not the auction, the raft will be done through them. So, but uh yeah, uh for a good cause and a beautiful gun for 75 bucks. What do you think, Trace?
SPEAKER_04I I think you can count me in on that deal.
SPEAKER_03Gotcha. Okay, cool. Well, everyone, um, sit tight. Trace, I want you to hear this interview. This was very, very interesting. Uh, with Pro Ferrum and Mr. Julian Kahn.
SPEAKER_05The D.
SPEAKER_03All right, everyone. Help me welcome from Proferum, Mr. Julian Khan. What's up, Julian? All good. How are you? I'm I'm doing fantastic. So we recently did a podcast, as you know, with uh Carl Holland from Grey Rose, and he was talking about one of his new products being the Proferum. And I'm like, wait a minute, what? What did you say? What is this? Tell me about this again. So why don't we hear it straight from you? Tell us about the product, like a brief overview. How does this thing work?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so the first thing I should probably say is about the name, because uh, like you did there, everyone sort of stumbles over it. Proferum, it's basically comes from the Latin meaning for iron. So that kind of tells you what it's about in a way. Okay. Um, the idea really is that you know it replaces the need for lots of different products for looking after your firearm. So it's a type of CLP. It cleans, it lubricates, it protects, but it does all those things in a very unique way, a very special way, uh very safe way, an effective way. But um it also does a few other things that you won't have seen before that make it really quite special.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, we're gonna we're gonna dive into those because I think I know where you're headed. Carl kind of alluded to some of this. Let's start with this, though, Julian. So are you the owner of the product?
SPEAKER_01No, no, I'm the general manager. Okay. So I sort of uh run things day to day and do a lot of the legwork, if you like.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Well, I guess we should have started with that, what your position was. I I apologize. No, no. So tell me, tell me this much. Why did this product get developed? It was there a like a void that was in the marketplace of you know the currently offered products. Is that what gave birth to this?
SPEAKER_01Okay, so I think the first thing I should say is, you know, there are lots of great products out there that all do certain things quite well. But Proferum was born by a basically a very uh highly respected German chemist. He looked at the market and realized that there wasn't really anything that could take advantage of all the different innovations that have happened over time and put it all together and have something that really solves lots of problems, and that's what Proferm is. You know, in some ways, there's not been a lot of advancement when it comes to things like gun oil. Um, in most of us have sort of been using products that'd be familiar to our grandparents. Yes, and that's what Proferum does differently. You know, it just when you compare it to what else is out there, it just has lots of advantages.
SPEAKER_03Okay, so we understand how it was developed now, so tell me how does it work? Because I'm really I'm really intrigued by this whole encapsulating water thing. Tell us how this product works.
SPEAKER_01So, as I mentioned, it cleans, it lubricates, it protects, and it does this water molsification. So, in terms of your cleaning and your lubricating, the secret really is to do with the size of the molecules. Without getting too boring, the molecules in Proferrum are far smaller than any other product out there. In fact, they're about a hundred times smaller. The other thing that's special about it is that Proferm doesn't have surface tension. So it's what we call a super spreading fluid. So, what that means is where is a traditional oil or uh something like water, if you have a droplet on a hard surface, it makes a domed bead, if you like. Right. Proferum doesn't do that, it goes flat and it keeps spreading and it wants to get flatter and flatter and flatter. And that's partly the secret to what allows it to do what it does. So, in terms of cleaning, it replaces things like bore solvents. Bore solvents quite often are quite harsh, aggressive chemicals. They tell you not to leave them in contact with the barrel too long because they can cause pitting and things like that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So pro ferum tackles that cleaning issue in a totally different way. Instead of chemically etching the fouling away, it works like a penetrating roll. It soaks underneath it and lifts the fouling up from underneath. And you know, that's quite unique in itself, and that's why it's safe to leave on the gun as long as you wanted to. But it also does something else. Sorry.
SPEAKER_03Well, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you there. I want you to hold your thought there for a second, but I want to comment on that because in the Wayback Wagon, when we uh first started this podcast, we had world-renowned um gunsmith Jim Ister on here. And one of the things he was saying is don't use bore solvents that you need to clean with oil because it'll, you know, if you're using like a bore solvent, it can actually strip that oil out of the metal because metal is porous, and he's like, So you should clean with oil. So what you're saying falls right in line with what he said, and that that's that's neat how that works like that. But please continue.
SPEAKER_01It also does something else that makes it quite special, those sort of the porous elements you're talking about on the metal that quite often people don't even know is there grain and sort of pitting and imperfections. Because of the size of the molecules and the way that Proferum can spread, it's actually able to infill all those imperfections and it sets in there. I like to compare it to seasoning a cast iron skillet. So after about five or six applications, it builds up this protective layer on the surface of the metal. Now that does a couple of things. First of all, it makes it easier and easier to clean the more that you use it, but it also leaves a protective layer that repels things like water, obviously, on the outside of the firearm. It protects from greases and salts from handling. It also will neutralize things like corrosive primers, residue from those, black powder residue. So it's really quite cool the way that it's able to do that and makes it quite a unique product. So that's how it also not only does it clean, but also that's how it's protecting.
SPEAKER_03In regards to that, does it dry to the touch? Like, or does it leave a wet film?
SPEAKER_01So this is the thing. We like to say that it's it lubricates in three different ways, if you like. You can use it like a conventional oil, because of the way it cleans and those molecules and the super spreading abilities, it's also a penetrating oil. So essentially, if you have stuck chokes or seized mechanisms, screws that won't come out, it's really good for helping to get them out. But getting back to your point there, the other thing that it does is because it wants to keep spreading, it goes on in an incredibly fine layer and sort of becomes a like a dry lubricant. It feels non-greasy and dry to the touch, it won't gum up on the firearm as well. It isn't a dry lubricant, but it just goes on in such a fine layer that it has the effect of a dry lubricant, if that makes sense. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01So what's nice about that is if you are somewhere that gets very cold, because it goes on in such a fine layer, it doesn't tend to thicken up and it's less likely to freeze up on you. If you're somewhere that's hot and dusty, you don't have to worry so much about dust and debris sticking to your working parts of your firearm either.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, nice. Very nice. Okay, one of the questions that a lot of people I I've heard them ask, not me directly. Trust me, I'm a I'm a moron when it comes to this stuff. But one of the questions I've heard people asking is they'll ask a gunsmith, is this oil going to do anything to my wood finish if it gets on the wood finish? Um, because some of these oils do have some like corrosive properties to them, you know what I mean? Like it can actually damage a finish to somebody's, and you know how some of these stocks are just astronomically expansive. So it's it's a genuine concern. Is Proferum safe if they get it on their stock?
SPEAKER_01So something you should know about Proferum, first of all, is that it's plant-based, it's environmentally friendly, and it's skin safe. It's been rated as excellent by Dermatest. And because of that, it's safe. Yeah, absolutely. So it's actually safe to use on lots of different materials. You can use it on leather, plastic, rubber, silicon, you can actually use it on air guns, it doesn't damage the o-rings. In regards to the wood, it is safe to use on wood as well. So, what we recommend is that you just spray lightly on a cloth and wipe over the wood, and what you'll find is it puts a nice sort of shine to it, it really brings the luster back, makes it look great. Um, it also helps to make it water, a bit more water repellent. So if you've ever been shooting in the rain and you get that sort of fuzzy texture sensation on the on the stock, it helps to eliminate all of that. What's really nice though is that um unlike something like say silicon oil, which people sometimes put on gun stocks, if you then want to refinish it with traditional sort of walnut oil, you'd have to remove that silicon oil before you could do it. Pro ferrum, you can actually put the walnut oil straight on over the top. So, in answer to your question, yeah, it's it's good on wood, it does a really, really nice job. What we don't recommend is that you spray loads and loads of it on the stock and leave it. Not that I would think you'd do that anyway, because it is a penetrating oil, it could soak in and potentially cause the grain to raise. But if you just wipe it over, or if you're cleaning your gun and you get spray on the stock, just get your cloth, wipe it over, and it'll put a really nice protective finish on there and not do any damage whatsoever. We've used it over here on sort of hand finished English walnut stocks and all sorts of things, you know, really high-end shotguns, hollands, and bosses, and yeah, no problems at all.
SPEAKER_03Fantastic. Yeah, that's that's really cool. Um, so is a long-term protecting, does it will it actually soak into those metal pores like I was talking about? And and here, let me okay, let me throw this out there. What I'm currently using is called QMAX. That's what I have used for the last few years with great success. I have gone out and shot in the rain, and you know how it is here, you're in a hurry to get back to the car or truck, whatever, and you throw your gun in the sleeve, you stop and you eat lunch, and you go, oh no. And then you get back to the truck and pull it out of the sleeve. And if it's if your gun's not properly protected, you're pulling an orange gun out of the sleeve, right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, you get that flash rust all over the road.
SPEAKER_03Right. But with the QMAX, the one thing I have noticed is I've pulled the gun out like that, and the water's actually still beat it up on the barrels. Um it, you know, it it did its job, but uh is that something that Proferm does? Is it will it actually soak into the pores of the metal and over time kind of like build up a protective layer in it?
SPEAKER_01Absolutely. And again, that's partly due to the size of those molecules and that super spreading ability. It will infill that surface, it will go into the surface and I said builds up this protective coat. One of the things that we've done at shows when we're demonstrating it is we'll show people uh a plate and we just put a few drops of water on it, and you'd you'd think the plate was dry and there's no oil on it, but you put a drop of water on it and just gently move it around and it turns a milky colour. And the reason for that is that it's drawing the oil coming out of the surface of the metal to interact with the water and stop it from being able to contact the surface of the metal and cause that rusting. We were starting to talk a little bit earlier on about what it does with water, and we haven't really covered it. So you're talking about the beads there on the surface of the gun when you took your gun out. So if you were out in the rain or even a full submersion, if you dropped your gun into water, what you would do is you would get your proferum, spray it over the whole of the gun. The moment proferum comes in contact with any moisture or water, it encapsulates those molecules, and you can see it in real time. And people, you know, sort of they see it for the first time at a show or an event where we're demonstrating it, and it's kind of mind-boggling, it immediately turns white. And as I say, what's happened there is those water molecules have been encapsulated, they're permanently trapped in a shell of the oil and they can't come out. So when you get home, the worst that will be on your gun is pro foam but in a sort of a white colour, and you can just wipe it off, and it's not going to be any issues there with flash rust at all.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Because it's a super spreading fluid, wherever the water can get, it's going to be able to flow in there. It flows better than water. So it will follow that um water into all those recesses, those nooks and crannies, and have that same reaction and stop it immediately from being able to rust. And say you may be able to find some uh there's videos out there of us demonstrating it where you can see it happening in real time. But I'd I'd recommend you try it. If you get hold of some, you know, put a few drops of water on the barrel of your gun and just uh spray it with proferum and see what happens. There's just nothing else out there that can do what it does.
SPEAKER_03Well, and you know, that's one of the things I I'm noticing here is it's not called Proferm Gun Lube, it's called care fluid. And I like that because it it's it's really it more than just a lube. Yeah, another thing, too, you offer is the Pro Found Grease. So what separates your grease from everything else that we've seen on the market? And there's a ton of different gun greases on the market, just like there is gun alone.
SPEAKER_01There's lots and lots of them out there, there's lots of them. Um, so essentially, it's a very high quality, premium quality, uh lithium based, complex gun grease. The reason we needed to develop one is that Proferum Gun Care Fluid is a really, really good cleaner. And we found that any greases on your guns, it just wants to wash them off. Now, Proferum Gun Care Fluid does most of the jobs you would need for looking after your. Firearm, but there are certain parts on firearms, you know, we're thinking about the hinge points on a double barrel shotgun, places like that. Yeah, you know, sort of threads perhaps on a moderator, where you just need something that's going to give you a little bit more um resistance and protection for high wear areas, and the high pressures, too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. So what we had to do is we had to develop a gun grease that would work with Proferrum and not just wash off. Now, Proferrum will get it off, but you have to work quite hard to get it off. So it is the perfect grease to use with Proferrum. Um, the other thing that we found when we were researching greases and looking into it, that greases have a moisture content. So you'll have seen some greases that might sort of uh thicken up and they go chalky or they discolor. Some of those white greases go powdery and things like that if they're left on for a while. So the reason for that is that they have a moisture content and they start to evaporate and they dry out. So Proferm's been made to be the only gun grease out there that has zero moisture content in it. So it won't do that over time, it won't thicken, it won't change consistency. When you do wipe it off and replace it, it will be the same consistency and the same grease that you put on there. So that's again something that makes it quite unique. The other thing that we did is we had it made in our Proferm blue colour. Now, if you're cynical, you could say that we did that for marketing purposes. Well, that's a fair point. You know, it's our colour and it looks kind of cool in that blue. But there was another reason. We're all about clean guns. And what we found is that when you put a white grease onto your shotgun hinge points or places like that, you you move work the action a couple of times and it starts to go grey and then black and it looks very dirty very quickly.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_01So our grease has been designed not to discolor, so it looks nice and clean and fresh on there for longer as well. Which it's one of those things that you know it may not bother you at all. But if you're like me and you like your guns to look spotless, yeah, you know, that's quite a big deal for me.
SPEAKER_03So well, you know, I mean, look, I my gun is nowhere near as expensive as some of the stuff that's out there, right? Like I'm a fraction of you know, somebody's really high-end against, but it's still my baby, right? And and I'm proud of it and I'm very sentimental with it. So for me to try to put anything new on my gun when I've been using something that's worked for so long, I'm really cautious about it, really optimistic about it at the same time. But I'm telling you, I'm anxious to try this. I really am. Like Carl really pushed hard for it, you know, like in private conversations. He's like, dude, you need to try it. I'm kind of excited, and especially now talking to you about this, I really want to try this. So if anybody else is listening and they're as excited about it as I am, other than Gray Rose, because they're gray roses here in Georgia, in the United States, where do you have dealers worldwide for your product?
SPEAKER_01So we we do. We're very lucky that we've grown quite quickly and very organically. We haven't spent a lot of uh money and things on advertising and marketing. And what we found is that once people use it, they become very loyal to the product because it works so well. And you know, that's a that's a great thing for us. You get this word of mouth, and you know, we've been at shows where we've been telling someone about it, and somebody will come up and interrupt us and say, I've just got to tell you, I use it, it's all I use now, and that kind of thing. So it's available in uh across Europe. We're in Scandinavia, we're in Australia and New Zealand. We've just come to the US. Um, we were at SHOT Show this year for the first time, so it's quite new for us coming into the US, and it's obviously a natural market for us. But already we're in lots of different shops. I think um you can get it online through our website directly. Um, retailers can get it through uh AIS ammo. Um that's the sort of distributor at the minute for for Proferum.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_01And I I think you will be seeing it a lot more. I think it's gonna be uh everywhere. You'll be you and your listeners and viewers are gonna be uh very familiar with it before too long.
SPEAKER_03There's one thing you said there that caught my attention is you know, word of mouth. And word of word of mouth and referrals will do 10 times more for you than any marketing campaign, I I believe. Yeah, you know, because when you hear it from a friend or a family member how great a product is, you're gonna go try it regardless of what you see on you know TV or an ad or YouTube, right? So um, and that you already have that type of following that speaks volumes.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. It's um it's quite interesting, especially in the early days, you would see on social media two sorts of comments. You'd have the people that had never tried it, and they'd be saying, There's no way this can do all these different things, it can't work, it's got to be snake oil, it's got to be this, that, the other. And then we wouldn't even need to respond because then you'd find that the people that do use it would come on and say, No, you're wrong. This is the real deal. Yeah, and that's you know, that's priceless. And the great thing is, over time, again, in a relatively short space of time, we see less and less of those people with those sort of more negative comments who haven't tried it because uh it's getting out there, you know.
SPEAKER_03That is fantastic, and like I said, I'm I'm anxious to try. And Jillian, I I really appreciate you coming on and explaining to our listeners about your new product, and you know, I'm I'm looking forward to it. And listen, I'll be the first to give you a review um as soon as I get to try it on my gun, and and uh be more than happy to do a follow-up with you. I think that'd be cool too. So maybe we'll yeah, absolutely.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, uh, you know, and uh that way you can uh if you find out that I've just made all this stuff up and it doesn't work, you can call me out and publicly shame me if you like.
SPEAKER_03Uh I have I have a feeling of I'm already getting it from Carl, uh you know, and a few other shooters that have used it. I'm already getting it from them, how much they love it. So I don't think we're gonna be calling anybody out.
SPEAKER_01Uh no, I don't think so. Uh I'll be honest with you, you know, I'm extremely passionate about the product. And the reason is, you know, I'm a shooter, I've shot all my life, I've been around guns all my life, I've used all different things, and now I've got that um big bag, a range bag full of all these other products that don't get used anymore because it just works, you know, and it's so exciting to have something that really works that well.
SPEAKER_03Well, the best salesmen in the world are the people that aren't salesmen. And what I mean by that is when you truly love a product and you truly believe in a product, it's easy to sell it, right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I'm the same way, you know, I'm an Atlas trap dealer. I love the product, I know the people behind it, I love the way it works, and for me, it's easy to sell it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it sells itself. You just have to show people people just have to try it and see it for themselves, and there's no turning back after that.
SPEAKER_03You're you're you're 100% correct. Well, Julian, listen, thank you very much. I appreciate your time. Uh, look forward to talking to you again here in the near future. And next time you're in the States, look us up, man. Let's go shooting.
SPEAKER_01That sounds like a really good idea to me, and I really appreciate your time. Thank you very much.
SPEAKER_03Yes, sir. The dead well, what do you think, Tracy? Prof. Are you intrigued yet?
SPEAKER_04I think there's a lot of thought that went into that product. Yes. It's uh pretty exciting, and I can't wait to get a hold of some. I just need to get it on its way, basically.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, I've been using QMAX for years, and I've I've been a big advocate for it. And again, everyone, just so you understand, ProFerum or QMAX, neither one of them sponsored this show. It's just what I personally have used. And speaking to Pro Ferum, I did get a chance since this interview to finally get my hands on some and try it. And I tell you, the first mistake I made was thinking that you needed to just lather the gun up. No, no, no, no, no. A little dabble do you, as they say. This stuff goes a long way. Uh I I sprayed way too much on to get started. But the test always comes from me, you know, with the rhino porting, you get a lot of that that residue, you know what I'm talking about, Trace, from the bottom barrel to the top barrel.
SPEAKER_04The carbon filing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And you know, with the Q Max, uh, you know, you can just touch it and it falls off. I've noticed with this Pro Fam, and I and this has only been one use since I put it on, it doesn't you're not getting the build up at all. Like it's you don't have to flick anything off or touch anything, it's just it's just not there.
SPEAKER_04That's awesome. I shoot a ported gun, and one of the things that drives me nuts is having to put I I always overdo it. I put too much oil on there. I'm I'm obsessed with trying to protect my gun. And the fact that you don't have to lather this stuff on there and you don't get it all over your hands, and you can go shoot your tournament and not worry about it. That's exactly what I'm looking for.
SPEAKER_03Well, okay, look, full disclosure, I just full-on idiot move. Like, you know, my gun's disassembled, I got the barrels laying there on the bench, and I grabbed this can and I just spray it down the barrel. And my first thought was this little can is not gonna last me very long. Well, then I grabbed a rag and I started wiping where I'd sprayed down the barrel, and it was like, oh, I just sprayed enough for like five gun cleanings. I mean, like, but like the grease on the hinge pins and stuff, you know what I'm talking about? It just comes right off with this stuff, dude. I mean, it's incredible. Um, and what I really like most about it, it's non-petroleum based. It's all plant-based. And it it's just it doesn't stink, it doesn't you know when you get done cleaning your gun, it's like, okay, I need to go take a bath now, right? Like if you don't yeah, it I don't know, I don't know how to explain it. Um, it's a really good product. I really like it, and I hope everybody gives it a try. Grey Rose uh is the only people I know right now that are carrying it. Uh so give them a call or look them up on their website. But yeah, get your whole get a hold of some of it. Now, the next part of that is the grease. I haven't tried that yet, but I do have some on the way. I'm anxious to try that. And again, it's gonna be a tough sale for me because I've you know tried and true, the grease that I've been using works so awesome. So it's it's gonna have to be pretty good for me to switch, but we'll see. You know, I'll follow back up with you on it once I try it.
SPEAKER_04Well, I really like what he said about it. Kind of builds, so you don't, you know, it sounds like you progressively don't have to use more and more or as much as you did the first time. You get to kind of use a little bit less, and then that protection builds.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Um, that's good to know.
SPEAKER_03Well, and I noticed it too, like when I ran my barrels, uh the amount of wad fouling and stuff that I got out, like a lot easier than what I had before, if that makes sense. Um I won't go into how I clean my gun, but I just it came out a lot easier.
SPEAKER_04So you're telling me I might pick up a couple feet a second out of my shells.
SPEAKER_03I that maybe that's what it is, Trace. Less lead. Less lead.
SPEAKER_04Less less friction.
SPEAKER_03Less friction, yes. Oh man, the wads are just gonna be smacking those cart targets, Trace.
SPEAKER_04That's right. My 1290s are gonna do 1293.
SPEAKER_03Oh man, that's hilarious. But no, it it is it is a really good product. I'm very impressed with it, and uh, I I wouldn't recommend anything to anybody on a high-end gun unless I actually used it and believed in it myself. I'm telling you why it's it's good stuff. You gotta try it for sure. But hey, listen, um, so I got to catch up with Mr. Ryan Marsh. He is the CEO of El Jefe. Now, El Jefe is part of this program. You guys have heard me pushing it for a long time. And Tracy, I know how you are about nutrition and you know what's in different foods and drinks and stuff that we consume. And I think you're gonna be intrigued by this one, even more so than the Proferum. So uh sit tight. Um, I want you to listen to this one, Tracy, because Ryan is uh this guy's a character. I got to go to dinner with him uh when I was out in California, and this guy is crazy, crazy intelligent, super successful in business. I mean he came from nothing and built himself a little empire. But what he the thought that went into El Jefe and what he's done is amazing, and uh I'm anxious for you to hear it.
SPEAKER_04I'm very intrigued and I'm ready to go.
SPEAKER_03All right. Well, sit tight and uh let's listen to this interview I did with Mr. Ryan Marsh. All right, everyone. I'm excited about this one. Joining me now, Mr. Ryan Marsh from El Hefe. What's up, Ryan?
SPEAKER_06What's up? Great to uh be on your show here.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, man. We we appreciate the support you've given us. Um Ryan, just real quick, can you like give us the abbreviated uh version of your background? Like what you know, where did you come from and how you know how did you get to where you are now?
SPEAKER_06Well, in business, I I've been in the beverage business for 30 years. And uh I'm out in I'm out in California, built one of the uh largest companies selling uh beverages in vending machines and through convenience stores on the West Coast. And uh we decided to uh make our own product years ago, which was original New York Seltzer, which is a popular brand. And uh after that, I bought a bottling plant and uh sold that brand in the plant. But I always said if I'm ever gonna make a drink, it's gonna be an energy drink. And uh after all these years of of kind of pondering, you know, what would make sense because it would have to come to me, right? It's not something you can really create. It came to me as I'm in in these convenience stores in this in the morning, and I see all these hardworking guys buying three monsters at a time. And I'm thinking, why are they buying three monsters? It doesn't, you know, what's so special about monster? And a lot of these guys are in the Hispanic community and they're buying monster, and I don't really see the correlation. So that sat in my mind. Uh, you know, trips around the world that I've done have sat in my mind, and uh I just decided uh, you know, this El Jefe idea came to me and and uh I ran with it. So I came up with a design, and we um, you know, I had the expertise from having a brand before and a bottling plant. So I'm I'm well suited for this. And I've been selling millions of cases a year of drinks, and uh I have a great way to test it because I've got millions of customers on the West Coast that shop in my in my stores or in through my vending machines each week. And I'm able to to try it and test it and see what they like, and they loved it, and it's everyone, every nationality loves it, everyone loves it. They're taking pictures of the cans the first time they see it. So we we knew we had something big here, and uh I'm full-time into this brand and uh growing it with uh some other partners and and off to the race as we go.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, one of the things I've pushed here on the show since the inception with the Dead Pearl Podcast is uh first and foremost, with anything you drink is taste, right? And for me, the El Jefe is just I I think I told you this. I'm not a fan of like orange drinks at all, like orange sodas or anything, but even your orange flavor is incredible. So, but the the flavor across all the different versions that you offer is amazing.
SPEAKER_06Well, and you haven't tasted the new ones because we just came out, we just launched three La Hefa versions, and I I gotta ship some of those to you.
SPEAKER_03You you you've been teasing me with that, right? I'm I'm anxious to test it. But beyond the taste, as as shooting.
SPEAKER_06Well, let's get back to the taste for a second. I I came to the realization the reason mine tastes better is because I'm not on a timeline. I'm not really doing this brand for a living. So if if I work for a company and they said, hey, I need an energy drink in the next 90 days, you know, get it together, then that's one thing. And then you just piece it together. But because I had I have no timeline, I'm only striving to make the best possible, most badass can and badass drink. That it took me over a year for the can design. The La Hefa design was 14 months and 530 different revisions. The taste, the fruit punch, I went back 50 different revisions. Our flavors are hands down the best flavors of any energy drink. As you know, you tried it, but the La Heffa is unreal. The La Hefa is probably 10 times better than the all the flavors you had, which you're gonna be like, that's not possible.
SPEAKER_03Wow, I'm I'm really anxious to do that.
SPEAKER_06So, yeah, that's the difference, I think, is I'm not on a timeline. I'm just like, I'm not gonna release a drink until it is perfect, and that's what we did. And uh, and we're we're we're gonna win because of uh not just because of the brand and everything it stands for, but you got to have a drink that tastes good so people can come back.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. I I 100% agree with that. And I guess I guess a lot of my questions should have been a little bit more revolved around that. But as shooters, the ability to focus and not be jittery yet still be alert is crucial. And this is where I want to get into the ingredients a little bit because first of all, let's start with El Hafe has zero added sugar to it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we have we have zero sugar, there's no need for it nowadays, right?
SPEAKER_03And then the other thing, too, is correct me if I'm wrong, but I think you're only 125 milligrams of caffeine. Is that correct?
SPEAKER_06We're 150 milligrams. It's at least yeah, it's similar to some drinks, but you know, bang and and Celsius. Bang is 300 milligrams, Celsius is 200 milligrams, and yeah, if you're talking trying to focus and not jitter or whatever you know happens with those other drinks, uh, that doesn't happen with our drinks. I've never even heard of that until uh you know, other people started mentioning with other drinks that happens to them, but it doesn't happen here.
SPEAKER_03Well, it's not only the jitter, it's the crash that comes on the back side of it.
SPEAKER_06We don't have it, so I don't even know what you're talking about. I've never experienced that before.
SPEAKER_03Well, I mean, if you're you know, if you're like me, you you know, I I probably drink way too many than I should. Uh you're drinking two energy drinks a day, you you kind of notice this kind of stuff, right? And that was the first thing that caught my attention, aside from the taste. Obviously, that's first initial reaction, is I didn't have the problems that I was having with other energy drinks. And another thing, too, is yours was actually loaded with vitamins. I mean, compared to everything else that's on the market, I I don't know if that was your intent, but you've obviously hit a home run there.
SPEAKER_06Well, we just we we packed it with whatever we could to keep the taste, you know, as good as possible, but also have vitamins and everything else, you know, that that helps people out. Now, one thing I don't want to do is ever make a claim that my drink does anything special for people. That's when you get sued by everybody. So I was like, this is a badass drink for badass people, and like you found yourself, you drink it and you're like, holy shit, you know, it's very different than everything else out there. It's just good, it's just better. So I think that in the future, there will be now other brands that step up their design, take their time, and step up their flavors because I don't know what they're doing when they sit around a conference room tasting flavors and they make it a flavor that tastes like Skittles or a flavor that tastes like you know something else for kids. And it and to me, it doesn't taste good. As an adult, I don't understand why people are drinking, you know, flavors that are that are kids' flavors. We're not doing that. We're we're making flavors for men, hardworking people, and just badass people in general.
SPEAKER_03Right. And now, so correct me if I'm wrong, but the la hefe was more those that flavor profile was more centered towards the ladies, correct?
SPEAKER_06It's it's la hefa, and it's not not necessarily for women, the flavors. I mean, I'm the one who decided on the flavor, so it came from a man, but yeah, these flavors are like I'm drinking a pineapple uh storm right now, the pineapple flavor. It's perfect. It's probably this flavor is probably the best energy drink of any energy drink ever made. This flavor, and I'll I'll send you some today so you can get it in a couple days.
SPEAKER_03That'd be awesome. Well, that was you know, that's the other thing, too.
SPEAKER_06But no, it's not, it wasn't a focus group. It wasn't, you know, it's not all that stuff. I just made the best possible flavors. It happened to be that I made pineapple for this, you know, in this can in a 12-ounce can with a with a woman's face on it. But look, we expect everyone to drink it the same way that all the women are drinking the the cans that have a man's face. The men should be drinking the cans that have the women's face. But we made it, we made a drink for everybody here. And and now we've got you know 12 flavors. There's a flavor for everybody. And this is starting to sound like a commercial, unfortunately. But we it's really not a commercial. I'm just passionate about how good our drinks are, and uh, you know, we'll let everybody else in the world uh you know decide for themselves.
SPEAKER_03Well, and that's that's one of the things too that also attracted me to the brand is the first time I talked to you, it was I could sense the passion in it, right? And that's a lot different than buying something from a big corporation that's all about you know just marketing and selling you know cans of crap.
SPEAKER_06No, if you if I'm living, I'm live, this is a brand you can live. And if you think about the other brands that are out there, you can't live them. And I don't need to name them, but you're not gonna put their name on your boots or laser inscribe them into your shotgun.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_06You know, as you know, I'm wearing an L Hefe shirt with an L Hefe belt buckle, with an L Hefe boots, with a you know, this brand is leather, this brand is is metal, this brand is, you know, guns, this brand is this brand is everything badass in this world, and it works with pretty much every sport, uh, including, you know, including your clay shooting. I said it's not necessarily for people that are just hanging out in Starbucks, just you know, pretending that they're working on the laptop. And I don't want to insult those people, but I just did. But people that actually work, stay up late, work two shifts, work on a forklift, work at a hospital, they are reaching out hourly to us saying, Thank you for making a drink for us. And and they did mention, you know, that that this does, you know, work for them or whatever, and and you know, they don't get jittered, and they mentioned that. Whole thing. But but you know, I'm just not familiar with the whole jittery thing because I never experienced that because I don't really drink the other drinks besides mine.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Well, what I was going to ask here a second ago, one of the biggest questions I get asked is, you know, where can they get it? And I understand distribution takes time. So talk about that a little bit. It's it's migrating its way over here to the east.
SPEAKER_06The energy drinks for people that don't understand how drinks are made, it doesn't magically appear in every store overnight.
SPEAKER_03Right. Exactly.
SPEAKER_06So as I think I told you, in Florida alone, there's 15 different distributors that I need to make different contracts with. In Michigan, there's 21. In every single state, in every county, there needs to be different distributors with, you know, because they only have their certain areas that they go to. Uh, we're gonna be, and I'll announce it now, we're launching in New York, in New York City with Pepsi, which is a huge deal. So we will be distributed by Pepsi of New York uh soon. We will be in every city, every state and every city in the next 45 days. This is one of the fastest launching energy drink brands ever. We're launching in five other countries besides the US. And these are only we're only launching in these other countries because they reached out to me. And so the head of drinks for 7-Eleven in Australia reached out and said, We love your brand. And I'm like, Well, there's no El Jefes in uh, you know, it's a Spanish word. There's no El Jefes in Australia, but they're ordering containers. We're already in the UK, we're shipping down to Chile, we're doing a huge Mexico launch in the next couple weeks, and uh in and Canada will be the other country that we're going to. So not only are we trying to fill up America right now, but we're trying to fill up these five other countries and then go after every other country. Uh, this is this is a big brand. Our logo, as you know, it's a cool logo. You know, I've sent you some shirts and stuff you saw it. But uh, you know, I think that our logo, the word logo, and the iconic El Jefe face logo will go down in history as you know, as a great logo that that ever existed. So we're pretty pretty excited about that. But yeah, distribution, it's online now. We made it online. We don't really want people buying their energy drinks online. We want them to buy them where they are every day, but we made it available to people uh on our website, which is eljefe.com. Uh, we're not doing Amazon, we're not doing TikTok for now. We just we really want people to go to stores, pick a bunch of different flavors. Um, our most popular pack online is a variety pack that we have. So that way they can taste, taste all the different flavors. And uh yeah, so we're we're we're rolling out to different states. So we're we rolled out Texas, Arizona, obviously California. Um, we're going up to Washington State. We're we're going to every state. So give us a little bit of time. We're getting out there to every single store. And uh, and and there's some big there's some big announcements coming.
SPEAKER_03Well, and you know, I I tell people when they come up and ask me, it's like, where can I find it? And it's like, look, it's coming, but if you can't wait, yeah, they can buy it all. Right down in the show, yeah, right down in the show description is a link to your website. They can go there and buy it. It's a huge undertaking. I mean, you just explained how many different cities and states and plus all the different countries. I mean, that is a huge undertaking for distribution. So I, you know, I've told everybody just be patient, it's coming. And if you can't be patient, get online and get it. So um Yeah, get it online.
SPEAKER_06We'll we'll ship it to you, not a problem.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, absolutely. And it really does fit the narrative for sporting clays because the vast majority of this sport is comprised of men and women that get off work and they got, you know, hopefully they can make it to the range in time to get a little practice in before it gets dark, and then they're shooting on the weekends. So to have something that's maybe a tick more than a cup of coffee as far as caffeine goes, but without all the bad crap in it that's in a lot of the other energy drinks, and plus, like you said, the brand itself is just so cool. So it perfectly fits the sporting clay world, and I hope more people will try it. And you know, I I've been pushing the crap out of it on the podcast, and I've been getting a ton of questions. It's like, you know what? We got to get Ryan on here to answer some of these questions.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, no, it's great.
SPEAKER_03But we uh we we greatly appreciate it, Ryan. We really do. Um, and you know, thank you for helping out the Dead Pro Blast in LA. I know we got another one coming up in December, but everybody there was not one can left. I'm telling you, they were had people try it. Well, I really don't drink energy drinks, and they tried it, and they're like, You got any more of that? So, I mean, it was a big hit, it really was.
SPEAKER_06So, we're gonna our goal is to have everybody buy at least, or or either we give it to them or they buy a can and they can experience it then, and they'll see it's just as you know, it's just different, it's just better than everything else out there. And I think it's because I'm not I'm not motivated by anything except to make the best possible drinks for everyone and for and to recognize the Hispanic community and to recognize har hardworking people, you know, whatever they're doing. It's just it's super important, you know. And yeah, you know, in my other business, uh I've got about 550 employees that are uh primarily Hispanic and they all work hard and and we're just recognizing them. And it's uh it's a great thing.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I it really is. And I'm I'm excited for what's coming. So just one last quick question. You know, what is your vision down the road for the company? Like, where do you want to see this be? Where do you want to see it not only as a brand, but from a consumer standpoint? What's your vision for the company?
SPEAKER_06I want to see it in the trash, which sounds crazy, but that's how you know you made it. When you're driving down the road and you see some cans on the ground, then you're like, I made it. That means everybody's drinking it. So my goal is to is to inspire not everyone who's drinking it, but inspire everyone who's who's working hard and just, you know, they want to be their own boss. They want to be, you know, even if they're working for other people, they still want to be recognized. And and I just want I want the other energy drink companies or any drink company to step it up. I'm here to challenge them to make a better can, a better flavor, get the sugar out of all the drinks. There's no need for 53 grams of sugar in someone's drink that that does no good for anybody. And uh, and I just proved that if you try and work hard, you can come up with something that's great. And I was gonna go on LinkedIn this morning, and uh, because I like LinkedIn and and make a post that says, look, there's a $10,000 reward here. If you could make an energy drink that tastes better than mine. So I'm gonna I'm gonna put that post up in the next day or so and and see what kind of reaction I get because uh, you know, uh there's some bad stuff out there, and unfortunately, I think America's tastes are changing. Like the young kids are drinking uh, you know, some of the stuff that has apple cider vinegar in it, and it doesn't taste good.
SPEAKER_03But they're yeah, I don't understand that one.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, so I don't know. I mean, I hope I hope America's tastes come back to things that actually taste good instead of forced, you know, trying to force yourself to like something, or people drink it and say that's not bad. We're not we're not doing that. We're like, that is good. And whether it's an energy drink or energy, any drink, you know, it could just be any drink. Like I'm drinking it right now. I'm not trying to get energy, I'm just trying to drink it because it tastes good. And I got to get you these new flavors.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, I'm I'm super anxious to try them. I mean, as good as everything I've had is so far, I can't I can't imagine you're telling me this is better, that's better. It's like, no way.
SPEAKER_06I said it was 10 times better.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_06I yeah, it's it's crazy.
SPEAKER_03You really got me anxious to try it now. Well, Ryan, listen, greatly, greatly appreciate you spending a few minutes with us.
SPEAKER_06Um, you know, I and I also appreciate the introduction into the you know into the clay shooting world, too. Yeah, yeah. I didn't realize how big it was, but you told me that what 22 and a half million people shot clay last year and uh big number 23.4.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, there you go. It's growing. Yeah, oh yeah, it's it's growing.
SPEAKER_06It's it's an amazing sport. We're here to support it, as you know personally. You know, I'm uh I'm a gun collector, so uh it fits in you know the whole narrative and my whole lifestyle as well.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, I mean, you can chalk up one thing, you're the first energy drink that's that's entered the sporting clay market. So that's amazing. But we uh we greatly appreciate you, and like I told you when I was out in California, when you're ready to go shoot, man, it doesn't matter if I'm out there or you're down here in Florida, you got an open invitation, man. Let's go.
SPEAKER_06I appreciate it. Let's do it.
SPEAKER_03Well, thank you very much, Ryan.
SPEAKER_06All right, thanks for having me.
unknownTake care.
SPEAKER_03The deck play. Well, what do you think, Trace? Are you gonna line up to buy some cases of El Hefe?
SPEAKER_04You know, I am pretty picky when it comes to this kind of stuff, but I am really impressed with the with the thought that went into it. You know, I'm pretty anti-sugar. Um, you look at some of the stuff in these drinks, and it's it's not all about being a stimulant, it's all about focus and performance and feeling good.
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_04Not all e-drinks do that.
SPEAKER_03No, they don't. And you know, I I don't know for those who who haven't paid attention, uh, we did a little motocross pro am back in December of 25, and uh we did that in conjunction with Whiskey Throttle Media, which is uh motocross equivalent to this podcast. And they brought in a bunch of El Hefe, and I'm an energy drink snob. So I run over and I grab a can and I'm looking at it. And the first thing I do is look to see if it's got sugar in it, because I'm just like you, I don't want something with a bunch of sugar in it, and it only had 10 calories, so that caught my attention, and I looked at zero sugars, and I'm like, oh okay. So I looked at the different flavors, I'm like, all right, well, I'm I'll try this one. And I was like, oh my gosh, this stuff's good. So then that got me reading the can more, and that's how this all started. And then I just basically reached out to the company, and believe it or not, I got Ryan on the phone, and really we started talking. He's a big time gun enthusiast. Now he's not into clays as much as we are, but it rifles, pistols, shotguns, it doesn't matter. If it goes bang, he's into it. And I'm like, this guy is super cool. And we started talking, we hit it off, and I told him, I was like, you know, this is kind of like an open market sporting clays. He's like, What do you mean? I'm like, we don't have any energy drink sponsors. He's like, Well, you do now. So it was just it was a perfect fit, you know.
SPEAKER_04Um, but I don't think any other energy drinks do fit the context very well. I mean, there's not many others that I can think of that I would honestly drink other than this, prior to, you know, during or prior to a tournament.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's and I think that's what I like about it. It's not overly loaded with caffeine like the other ones are. You know, I think monsters like north of 300 milligrams of caffeine. Um and I'm not gonna sit here and call out all the different Andy drinks and what they have in them, but this one's nowhere like that. And and I feel like if you're a little sluggish in a round, I don't think this would hurt. Now, obviously, I'm a big proponent for water and hydration and all that stuff during the round, but I don't think this is gonna hurt you. I really don't.
SPEAKER_04People should look up Turing, uh, you know, ginseng extract, L-carnitine, you know. I mean, these are some of the additives that they've got in the drink. This is the stuff you look for when you want to go to a tournament, you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I mean, you know, even David is kind of like a little bit of a connoisseur, if you will, about you know, ingredients and stuff like you are. And when I first showed it to him, he was he was like, wow, this is you know, like he was intrigued. But I think the biggest thing is the taste. I've tried all their flavors and and I'm not an orange drink person, like I like orange juice. That's that's where it stops, right? Like orange crust, that stuff's nasty. He has an orange version of one of one of these El Jefes, and it tastes freaking amazing. Like it's good. I mean, I like all of them. He asked me the other day, he's like, which one's your favorite? I'm like, all of them. He's like, no, pick a favorite. I'm like, no, I like dude, you're not gonna get me to choose one. I like all of them. Seriously.
SPEAKER_04Like the energy, the energy drink market has has struggled greatly with taste. So the fact that El Jefe is no pressured approach to putting something actually on the market. To I don't need the money, I don't, I don't have to put it out there right now, I don't have a timeline. It's when it's right, it's right. I mean, that's how it all should be. And I don't think everybody shares that same philosophy.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Yeah, it's I don't know. I mean, there's people that are listening to this that don't really care, but if you get a chance to try one, you need to try one. Yeah, I think the thing that that's killing it right now is they're just not over here on the East Coast yet. They will be. By the time you're hearing this, they'll be here probably any day now. Um, you still can go on their website, it's free shipping uh to order cases of it. So uh you're pretty fortunate, Trace. You're on the West Coast and you know, you've got it. Go to your local 7-Eleven, they've got it. You need to give it a try, Tracy.
SPEAKER_04I will, absolutely. I actually have a 7-Eleven not too far from the house, too.
SPEAKER_03There you go. Perfect, perfect. Yeah, Tracy. Aside from all of this, man, uh, I I'm I'm glad to hear you're picking up the gun again because you kind of had me scared there for a while. I didn't know if I was gonna have to send you like cortisone shots or what was gonna go on there, but I share your fear.
SPEAKER_04I was scared too.
SPEAKER_03Well, you know, we just did the Ohio State preview um last week, and I was telling Sean Alley that you're coming, and he was all kind of giddy about it. So we're gonna have to uh we're gonna have to get together one evening and and share a taconic distillery together.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely. I can't wait to see Sean. It's been too long.
SPEAKER_03Yes, yeah. And I just talked to him the other day, and he's he's working on some stuff for me. And I caught him and he's like, oh my god, dude, because I'm so busy, I forgot all about it. I'm like, it's all right, man. Don't worry about it. He's just dude, it's crazy right now for him. I I feel for that big guy. He's uh he's struggling right now. But yeah, it'll be good to get him out of the house and away from work for a little while, go shooting.
SPEAKER_04I will take whatever we can get.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
SPEAKER_04The more the better.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, the more the merrier. But you know, and speaking of that, folks, I hope everybody is taking someone new shooting, take them to a tournament. We we preach it each and every week. It's I know we sound like a broken record, but doggone it. They say you need to hear something three times to get it in your brain. Well, guess what? We're on episode 256 now. So hopefully I've pounded it in your brain, or Sean has enough by now that you're you're taking our advice. Take your friend out shooting. You know, Tracy, think about that for a minute. I bet even you are guilty of it, aren't you? You haven't taken somebody new lately, have you?
SPEAKER_04No, and now I'm gonna sit there and watch the total number of registered shooters in the NSCA, and I'm gonna wait for that number to climb now that we're all on board.
SPEAKER_03Well, you gotta do your part, Tracy. That's right. But no, it's it's I think it's important. I mean, that's I've stressed this a bazillion times, and so has Sean. The sport's not gonna grow itself. If people don't know anything about it, you know, given the fear of guns in this country anymore, they're not gonna go out and try it on their own. You gotta you gotta take them by the hand and take them out to the course and show them how much fun it is, it'll sell itself. Um, Tracy, thank you very much, man. Uh, appreciate you coming on. Love having you on. Um, and by the way, we didn't have enough time on this show, but the next time we have you on, Tracy, I want to get caught up on some questions for the coaches. We've had a few more of them come in. So we'll we'll catch you next time and run these questions from or through you or to you or however you want to say it. Um, and that's another thing, too, folks. If you're listening, please, please, please, if you have questions for Tracy or any coach for that matter, send them to me. Uh, you can send them to JRambo at thedeadpair.com. Get a hold of me on social media, send me a message, be more than happy to get your questions answered. Tracy, I know you enjoy answering those questions. So um, next time we'll definitely hit you up for a few of them.
SPEAKER_04Absolutely. I'm looking forward to it. It's always a privilege to be on and talk to you.
SPEAKER_03That's a privilege having you. And listen, folks, we enjoy having you with us each and every week. Tell your friends about us, turn them onto the sport, show them how much fun it is. It'll sell itself. Hopefully, they'll listen to this program and um all the great sponsors that we have. Thank you very much to Color Arms, Fyoki USA, Ranger.
