Ep 214 : Nutritional Strategies for Long Distance Running
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Even the best sportscar cannot move forward without sufficient fuel and the right type of fuel; the same goes for your body while training for or racing long distances.
In this conversation with Dr. Ernst Albin Hansen, research leader at Centre for Health and Rehabilitation at University College, Absalon, we learn about the importance of nutrition and fueling while running long distances and more importantly for maintaining the intensity while on those long runs. This discussion revolves around what one can consume before a run, supplements to replenish energy while running, post-workout meal options, the importance of fasted workouts and how one can train their body to utilize fats to produce energy.
