Speaker 1:

You don't always have time to breathe deeply or ground yourself, especially when you're in court, at work or when your kid is having a moment in school. That is when tiny tools matter. Today's episode is my favorite on-the-go stress relief secret. Hi love, welcome to Dear Divorce Diary, the podcast helping divorcees go beyond talk therapy to process your grief, find the healing you crave and build back your confidence. I'm your host, dawn Wiggins, a therapist, coach, integrative healer and divorcee. Join me for a fresh approach to healing grief and building your confidence after divorce. In today's episode, we're going to talk about the problem, which is stress in public is real and you know I love me some EFT tapping in car line. But when you can't EFT tap in public, what do you do? And I'm going to teach you one of my favorite solutions, which is Bach, as in the composer rescue pastilles. What is a Bach rescue pastille? Stay tuned, okay, public stress. Let's say you are in court and you are freaking out. What do you do? Or your kid, right? This came up today in particular because, as I was taking my kid to school this morning, she has a stressful thing that she needed to do today and, of course, we were emotionally processing like, if you back away from everything that ever intimidates you, what does that mean for you? And she was like, uh, you back away from everything that ever intimidates you, what does that mean for you? And she was like, uh, coward. And of course she was feeling some type of way, and all the things. But I was like, yes, right, we, we can do hard things. But in the meantime, here is this tool that I use, that I keep in my purse all the time that I sent her to school with so that she could manage her stress when she was in a public setting with people she didn't know that was intimidating to her in public. So we all have these moments. We have one of our coaching students this week who has to be in court for a very high stakes hearing this week, and this is part of our go-to plan. What we're talking about today is part of our plan for her to pack this tool with her for when she's sitting on the stand, to have this in her pocket, right? So there are these very public moments where we need to be able to have stress relief, where nobody knows what we're up to.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so what is it All right? Bach Rescue Pastilles. They are, these little hard candies that come in this beautiful yellow tin, and they come in different flavors and they're literally just hard candies. Right, they're not super hard, they're a little. Anyways, I'm not going to get in the weeds about their consistency, but it's just in a little tin. It could look like a throat lozenge or like a mint or something, but what they have inside of them is Bach Rescue Remedy, which is a flower essence blend for stress relief.

Speaker 1:

And so when you are literally at work or in the grocery store or you name it, and you're you know, you could just I have a tickle, let me just grab something, and this is what I do is I just pull it out of my purse and I just pop one of those bad boys in my mouth and I immediately have what I would call is a double tool, and by that I mean when we're feeling stressed, one of the most valuable things we can do is get grounded, like physically in our bodies, right? And so when you have something in your mouth that has a flavor, like that is using one of your senses to get grounded, so you could really focus on what the texture feels like in your mouth, what it tastes like all of that, right. But then also you have that flower essence blend for stress, if you're into flower essences at all, or you're getting into flower essences after listening to the podcast it's Clematis, it's Cherry Plum, it's Rock Rose, it's Star of Bethlehem, right. So Bach Rescue Remedy is a product that's been around for ages I think 80 plus years. We love Bach flower essences around here. You can grab them at Whole Foods or most health food stores. This one I just put on subscribe and save on Amazon and it comes on the regular.

Speaker 1:

Like I said, we use it with our coaching students. I will often send these to clients in little like welcome kits or whatever. It's a tool that I keep in my purse all the time. It's to the point now that if my kid sees me popping one of these, she's like trying to whisper in my ear like what's wrong? Why are you stressed? Because we're in public when I'm using it right, and so I just cannot say enough for this on-the-go stress relief tool. I put the link in the show notes for you to order them yourself. I love you so much. Peace, dear Divorce Diary is a podcast by my coach, Dawn. You can find more at mycoachdawncom.
