Divorce doesn’t just break hearts.
It impacts nervous systems.

And when your child is struggling after separation or divorce… most parents are left asking:

What do I actually DO?

In this Cocoon VIP episode of Dear Divorce Diary, Dawn, Joy, and Coach Tiffini walk you through the exact body, mind, spirit, and nervous system tools they wish they’d had sooner while helping their own children navigate divorce, grief, emotional dysregulation, attachment wounds, and anxiety.

This isn’t theory.

It’s the real-world toolkit they’ve actually used with their own kids.

Inside this episode:
– How to help your child identify negative thoughts and emotional patterns
– Why some kids dissociate instead of “acting upset”
– Tools for helping children get out of their heads and back into their bodies
– When boredom is actually healthy for your child’s nervous system
– Homeopathic and flower essence tools the team has personally used
– How divorce trauma can show up as anxiety, clinginess, shutdown, grief, or emotional overwhelm
– Signs your child may need deeper support beyond DIY tools
– Why your own nervous system regulation matters more than you think

One of the hardest truths in divorce recovery?

Your child doesn’t need a perfect parent.

They need a present and connected one.

And sometimes the most powerful healing tool in your child’s life is a mother willing to do her own work first.

If your child is struggling after divorce and you’ve been wondering where to start… this episode gives you practical places to begin.

Must Have Tools For Kids

SPEAKER_00

Okay, darlings, as promised, today we are going to talk about the must-have, go-to, can't live without them tools we do and would have used if we could do it all over again with our kiddos.

The Body Mind Spirit Framework

SPEAKER_00

We're going to start with breaking it down for you, body, mind, spirit. That's how we conceptualize working with ourselves, the women we work with in our programs, or our children, is really understanding how the mind and the thoughts we think, the body and the felt sense of safe or unsafe, worthy or not worthy, you know, capable or not capable. And the spirit, which is the non-physical part of all of us that we all have, whether it's soul, wise mind, the energy that causes us to be alive, right? And how that energy is either in flow state or is not in flow state through our bodies, and how any of that stuck energy in our bodies, in our spirit, leads to dark and twisty thoughts and beliefs, right? So we are here to tackle body, mind, and spirit for our kiddos today.

Building A Toolkit Over Time

SPEAKER_00

We are gonna talk about the go-to tools we use that we keep in our purses, handy in our cars, the things that our kiddos would have pinned on our walls, their walls, or the things that we're constantly talking with them about in order to help them over time build their toolkit, because this is not a one-and-done approach. It is a lifestyle, right? To build in these concepts for them to carry with

When The Tools Are Not Enough

them. And then we will talk about how to know if these tools even are not enough and when to go deeper.
