MM: Is your Life Making a Difference?
We reflect on a simple church sign that asks if our lives make a difference and land on a clear answer: yes, every presence leaves a mark. The focus shifts to choosing a positive impact through intention, self-reflection, and small daily actions that align with our values.
• the question of impact sparked by a church sign
• the truth that presence always creates influence
• how depression and doubt hide our existing impact
• choosing the kind of difference we want to make
• practical self-reflection before daily interactions
• aligning values with small, repeatable behaviors
• authenticity built from inner work to outer action
Thank you for joining me on a Mindful Moment. I'll see you right here next time on Mindful Moments
Welcome back to a mindful moment. A couple weeks ago, I was leaving on a weekly basis. We have a chair class of seniors 16 over, and we're fortunate enough to have it in a fellowship hall at church. And as I was leaving the church, saw on their billboard, on their signage, it says, Is your life making a difference? And that really caught my attention. It means so many things from what the church is trying to share their message, share their word, but also got me thinking, is your life making a difference? Is it making a difference in is your life making a difference in your own life? Is it making a difference in other people's lives? What is life about? Are we making a difference? And I and I do feel that it is important in life that we do make a difference. Maybe it's with our family, maybe it's with our coworkers, maybe it's with our friends, but we make a difference. And even though at times we don't think we make a difference, we do. And is your life making a difference? And we have to, in order for it to make a difference, we have to look into our own life. What do we, what, what do we want to portray to the world? What do we how what type of difference do we make? People make differences all the time. Sometimes they're negative, sometimes they're positive. We are making a difference. Just us being present in the world, we make a difference. So many times with depression and so many things, we think we don't make a difference. There's no difference made with us being in this world. But simply us being a part of the world makes a difference. Think of all the people we come in contact with. Positive or negative, we make a difference. So it's up to us to decide what type of difference do we want to make because we our life will make a difference. When that question on that billboard says, Does your life make a difference? The answer is always yes. It does make a difference. But it's up to us to decide what type of difference our life is going to make. Is it going to make a positive difference or is it going to make a negative difference? And that's what we have to look inside ourselves and say, what difference do I want to make? And if I want to make a positive difference, how do I go about that? What do I need to work on for me so that when I go out into the world, I come in talk contact with family, friends, coworkers, strangers? What am I portraying? How am I making a difference coming in contact with them in a positive way? So it all starts with our introspection, our self-reflection of what's the difference we want to make. And then how do we want to present ourselves to the world to make that difference? Present ourselves in an authentic way that, but to present ourselves in an authentic way, we have to first do the work on us, make a difference first in ourselves, so then we can make a difference on others. So our life does make a difference. Just decide what type of difference do you want to make. Thank you for joining me on a Mindful Moment. I'll see you right here next time on Mindful Moments.
