This week, we have Gretchen Seymour sharing about her alcohol-free journey on the podcast!
In this episode, we discuss:
- Listening to that "little voice" inside
- Going against the grain and living alcohol-free
- Sobriety as a process
- Planning ahead for social events
- Navigating relationships and social life
- Replacement strategies
- Community
Gretchen Seymour grew up in Florida, enjoyed a career in the commercial insurance industry and has lived in suburbs north of Chicago for over 25 years with her husband and two daughters. An avid sailor, Gretchen is the Commodore of the Lake Bluff Yacht Club and travels the country racing Sunfish, and co owns a Pearson 36 sailboat. Her other passion is knitting and teaching people to knit. Gretchen helped found Art Impact Project’s Knitting Communities Together as a small way to help heal the Highland Park community after the parade shooting in July of 2022. She’s proud that this group has grown and expanded, continuing to bring people together to experience community through knitting. She makes a pretty killer granola, loves the MountainFilm Festival, and has a wild idea about sailing around the world.
She co-hosts the KnittingAF podcast with her bestie Kate. You can find them on youtube https://www.youtube.com/@knittingaf, and also Instagram @knitting.af.
