Uncovering Your Life's Purpose
Take one look online and you will find millions of blog posts and videos around the subject of finding your life's purpose.
Seven step quizzes, astrological frameworks, human design can sometimes be helpful, but more often than not, in searching for our purpose, we actually disconnect ourselves from the very thing we seek.
Purpose has NOTHING to do with the vocation, occupation, career path or message you are sharing on this planet. Rather it is something internal and it's the SAME thing for every single one of us.

This makes me laugh, thinking back about my high school days, how they were trying to get these 14 year olds essentially to decide their vocation, their career paths for the rest of their lives. Now, side note, I did drop out of high school when I was 14 years old, so I only had to endure this for a moment. But for most of my adult life, like many of you listening, I believe that purpose was in fact tied to a vocation, an occupation, a career path, or even a mission that you had on this planet, such as creating a type of art or putting yourself out there as a certain type of creator or helping people essentially. And this can lead a lot of us astray. If you go online, you will find millions of blog posts and YouTube videos trying to clarify what your purpose is. So people will turn to astrology, human design, all these different kinds of frameworks shuffling around, figuring out, what am I here to do? And while some of us have this really clear discernment around this is why I'm on this planet, I am here to create schools or to bring water to poor people, or to write books, or whatever it might be, the truth of the matter is that many of us will flip and flop many times throughout our lives. And then what gives with that? What is your purpose? So for many, many years of my adult life, I kind of waddled through and scratch my head and didn't really know what my real purpose was here. For a minute, I thought it was to be an entrepreneur for another. I thought it was to be an agency owner and to help people make money. But what became very clear to me in the, especially the last few years as I began to really deepen the emotional work that I was doing and dive into this world, is that purpose is actually so much simpler than we make it out to be. It's actually the same for every single person on this planet. This is my belief anyways, and I hope it serves you well. So your purpose here on this planet is not to become a homeowner. It's not to have wads of investments and millions of dollars in your bank account. It's not to create a certain type of art or spread a certain message or show up in a certain way. Our purpose here
Speaker 2:On this planet is to expand and create emotional greens, unconditional of external circumstances. And this is the case for every single one of us. Now, if you think about it, the value exchange, which is what? Money is a representation of a value exchange, and everything that we do on this planet is ultimately done because we aspire to an enhanced state of wellbeing. We buy the new car because we think it's going to make us feel more confident. We go into nursing medical school because we think it's going to feel fulfilling. We create a piece of art because it gives us confidence or it puts us in states of flow. Every action, every behavior, every decision that we make ultimately boils down because we are seeking enhanced states of wellbeing. Now, if you believe in God, I highly doubt that God, you would believe that God put you on this planet because you're here to make millions of dollars or be a homeowner, right? I think we can all agree with that. If you believe in source or the universe, same thing doesn't really matter. And so this idea of purpose being tied to a certain message or a vocation is flawed in so many ways. And this is why so many of us are led astray, scratching our heads, confused, uncertain about what we're here to do on this planet. What you're here to do is to feel good, is to find pleasure, is to find gratitude and hope and play and joy and peace of mind and abundance and freedom. That's what you're here to do. Now, the caveat, as I sort of alluded to here, is that you're here to create that unconditional of external circumstances. In other words, you can alchemize states of hope. Even when you are faced with failure. You can alchemize states of love and connection, even when your parents withheld this from you or you've been broken up with or rejected. You are here to alchemize states of confidence, even when the online trolls are telling you you suck. Those who have learned those skills, the ability to create the emotional greens, regardless of external circumstances, are the ones who own this world. Because our reality is a mirror of us. It is a reflection of the actions and behaviors that we take, which are subsequently the result of thoughts and perspectives that we have held. And so if we wish to have any kind of impact on our reality, we must lead the way. We must claim sovereignty in these states. And this requires detachment from external circumstances. Otherwise, we find ourselves looped in. Now, some might argue that our purpose here is to help one another. And the premise of this being that we are all connected, and I firmly believe this, I, I have experienced this several times in my life , uh, both through psychedelic assistance, where I have felt this unification, this singularity, if you will, this all one . And I also experience it frequently, especially when I'm in nature. And so if we are all connected, if we all are made from the same stardust, the same source of light, and this reality is all these an echo chamber, if you will, of all these different resonances that create a contrasting experience so that we can forget ourselves and get to know ourselves through different perspectives, actives , then yes, helping each other ultimately helps us. But the mistake that we make is that I need to help other people through altruism or donating money or giving charitable times. Yes, these things definitely help not only with your mental health, they help with the sense of community. They definitely help other people. But the most powerful way that you can actually help others is to teach yourself this skill of inner alchemy. Because we are all interconnected. Emotions are contagious. They spread. And so if you are living or suffering under emotional reds, if you lack the capacity to take yourself out of depression or anxiety, or if you're living under shame or guilt, you're spreading this to everyone else. You may not be doing it knowingly. You may not be doing it intentionally or consciously, but that's exactly what you're teaching to every single person you interact with. So long as you hold shame. So long as you live in fear, you are teaching your children, your partner, your staff, your peers, your colleagues, your family, your, your neighborhood, your community, that they too should live with, those states that they too should feel ashamed about certain parts of their life. And so the most powerful way to connect to a sense of purpose where you are assisting other people is to actually teach yourself this skill of creating those emotional greens, unconditional of external circumstances. Because when you live in joy and appreciation for life, when you have found your flow, when you have found your sense of play and courage and resilience, that's what you're teaching. That's what you're spreading. That's the resonance that you bring into the echo chamber. And the ripple effect of that is bigger than you can even imagine. And so your purpose is quite simple. It has nothing to do with the outside reality. It is everything to do with the inner cauldron, the potion that you are mixing inside of yourself, figuratively and quite literally, because emotions are a chemical response flushed through our body, it's a potion <laugh> . And this requires us to understand what the emotional reds are that we are experiencing, and then discerning what it is we're telling ourselves through that communication that we actually want to create. And your purpose is to create that and to create the next one, and to create the next one, and to create the next one. Because these contrasting emotions, these reds will always show up because they're always going to invite you to grow, to transform. That's your purpose here. And so long as you learn to shift those states so that you are no longer suffering in them, you'll tap into whatever inspires you in that moment to create or different career ideas or different ways to show up in the world. Sometimes this will stick for your whole life, and sometimes you're gonna change many, many times. Neither one is better than the other. But more importantly, you're going to be creating a ripple effect of this alchemy to others. And that's ultimately what you're here to do,
Speaker 3:Is to find those greens despite what is happening outside of yourself. So for those of you who have been throwing spaghetti at the wall, taking all these different modalities, online quizzes, <laugh> , to try to figure out what your purpose, what are you here to do? I say to you, bring it back to basics. If you're feeling a loss of purpose that is a red, that doesn't feel good, right? To feel confused, that's confusion, uncertainty. Those are reds in your search for purpose. You are disconnecting yourself from the very thing you're here to do, the delicious irony. You are pushing yourself further away from your purpose. If that has been you, forgive yourself. It's okay. Most of us have been there, done that, and most of us suffer from amnesia. By the way, we forget this all the time, even though many of us have come to this space of realization, often we will sometimes forget this. That's okay. And just realize, ah, my purpose here is to create those greens. Start with that. The rest, the business, the job, the career path, how you show up in your community, those are secondary. Those are external conditions. Those will follow once you create the clarity first, once you create a sense of purpose within yourself, first and foremost. So I hope this episode has served you well.
