Stories of Resilience from the Ukrainian Battle Front: Interview with Volodymyr Dehtyarov: Soldier, CEO & Athlete
Before February 24, 2022, Volodymyr Dehtyarov he was the co-founder, and CEO of news, Newsfront Communication Agency. It is one of Ukraine's top consultancies with 30+ employees and a client pool including global industry leaders such as BMW, Takeda, Lenovo, Danone, and others.
On the day of the invasion, he joined the Territorial Defense Forces, went through basic training, served in Kyiv region and then was deployed to the front lines in the east of Ukraine.
In July, after four months of war, he was assigned to the Public Affairs Unit of the Command of Territorial Defense Forces in Kyiv.
In this episode, Volodymyr and I explore the questions and issues around the following:
- Could you share some of your experiences fighting on the front lines?
- What did you learned about yourself when under attack at the front line?
- How did you stay resilient? What were some of your strategies?
- What acts of resilience and tenacity have you witnessed in other Ukrainians?
- Do you see parallels of what you do now and your professional life?
- What lessons have you learned that you will take back to your leadership role when you return to the civilian world?
- What do you want those outside? Ukraine to know about the situation right now?
- What can the outside world learn about resilience from Ukrainians?
