[00:00:00] Hi, lovely yogis and welcome back to the All of Yoga podcast. After a little break, I'm Holly, and in today's episode, I want to talk about something [00:01:00] that might have been quietly sitting in the back of your mind for a while now. Maybe it's happened during Shavasana, when your mind is calm and open. Or maybe it's been after a particularly fabulous class, you found yourself wondering, could I become a yoga teacher?

Would I be good enough? What if I'm not flexible or confident or spiritual enough? If you've ever wondered if yoga teacher training is right for you or if you are right for yoga teacher training. Then this episode is for you. We are going to explore 10 signs that you might be more ready for yoga teacher training than you realize.

Let's get cracking.

One. You feel compelled to share yoga. 

Do you ever find yourself telling [00:02:00] friends, family, colleagues, anybody that'll will listen that they should try yoga? Maybe they've been telling you about their niggly back, or their trouble sleeping, or their increasing stress levels.

And you know, yoga's helped you so much that you find yourself continually saying, honestly, give it a go. You don't have to be flexible already, promise! And now it's got to the point you wish you could roll out a yoga mat and guide them to feel what you feel after a class.

 Two. You want. No, you need to know more. Yoga gives you something that nothing else does, and while your classes leave you feeling amazing, now there's a pull to understand why. 

Why does it help so much? 

What is actually happening inside? 

You are ready to go deeper. This was my reason. After practicing yoga for a [00:03:00] little while, I was sleeping better. I was way less reactive at work. My skin felt better. That eczema that I'd had for years was gradually disappearing. What was this miracle? I had to know more.

Three. You are ready to practice yoga Asana on your own. 

Yeah, you love studio classes. You love the community. You love the vibe, but now you want to feel confident on your mat at home. You want to understand sequencing and alignment and how to practice yoga safely so that your practice can be truly self-led and so that your practice becomes a non-negotiable part of the rest of your life.

Four. You are curious about yoga beyond the poses. 

you've started to notice that yoga is so much more than what happens on the mat. Maybe your teacher has mentioned [00:04:00] the eight limbs of yoga, or you've heard a nugget of philosophy that stuck with you all day long and you're realising there is a whole world of wisdom behind the practice. One that can guide not just your body, but your mind and your life, and now you are ready to explore it.

Five. You haven't met many yoga teachers like you, and that is exactly why yoga needs you. Yoga is for everyone, but representation still has a long way to go. If you've ever thought I don't look or sound or move like a yoga teacher, then your presence is all the more important. 

Six. You love yoga obviously. You've started to wonder how do people cope in this crazy world without a regular yoga practice? If yoga feels like home for you, [00:05:00] then yoga teacher training is the next room in that home to explore.

Seven. You want to refine your practice and feel empowered on your yoga mat. Sometimes you wonder, am I doing this pose right? You wanna feel more confident in your alignment, learn about modifications, and understand how to make yoga accessible for different bodies and different abilities, different energy levels, and so much more.

Yoga teacher training is most certainly about teaching others, but it's also about deepening your own practice so it feels truly yours. 

Eight. You feel inspired by your yoga teachers. You watch your teachers and you think, ha, I'd love to do that. You don't need to have it all planned out now. Not at all. All you need is that spark, and that spark will grow. It did for me. 

Nine. You want to join a [00:06:00] like-minded community. You want deeper conversations. You want to be surrounded by people who love yoga like you do, who care about mindfulness and movement and growth and rest.

And 10. You can't stop thinking about it.

This one might be the biggest sign of all. If the idea keeps popping up, even if you keep pushing it down, it means something. It really does.
