Why You’re Inconsistent and How to Fix It With AI
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
If your marketing swings between “I’m everywhere” and “Oops, it’s been three weeks,” this episode will help you build a visibility habit you can actually keep. Instead of relying on willpower, we’ll create a simple floor-and-ceiling system for your small business so you know what “good enough” consistency looks like in any season.

[00:00:00] Have you ever had one of those weeks where you're all in on your marketing and then the next week you're so exhausted or busy that you disappear completely. You post every other day for a bit, you feel proud of yourself, and then life happens. Client work takes over or you just hit a wall. And suddenly it's been two, three, maybe even four weeks since you've shown up online.
Now, it doesn't just feel like I got busy. It feels like I'm inconsistent. I can't stick with this. If that sounds familiar. I first want you to take a deep breath. You're not lazy, you're not bad at marketing. You just don't have a [00:01:00] visibility habit yet, but today we're going to change that. In the last episode, we talked about using AI to support your visibility in 2026, and we focused on giving you a simple weekly plan so you're not starting from zero every single time.
Welcome to AI Simplified the podcast for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want practical stress-free ways to use AI in their content and marketing. I'm Kristina Stubblefield, digital marketing strategist and creator of the Pre-Baked the Oven Method. Let's simplify AI so you can create faster, show up consistently, and feel confident in your content.
Today we're going to zoom in on the habit side of things, [00:02:00] and by the end, you're gonna have a calmer way to think about showing up consistently, a simple weekly visibility rhythm you can actually keep a way to use AI to support your habit, not pressure you or burn you out. This is about being consistent enough to stay visible without feeling like you have to be on 24 7.
When most people hear consistency, they think I have to post every day, or, Hmm, I can't miss a week, or if I fall off once I've failed. That kind of all or nothing thinking is a fast track to burnout. Let me tell you, I speak from experience, so I want to offer you a different picture. Think of your visibility like brushing your teeth, not like running a marathon.
You don't need [00:03:00] to brush your teeth for two hours, once a month. You do a tiny, simple thing most days because it's just part of how you take care of yourself. Your visibility can work the same way. Small intentional actions, done regularly in a way that fits your real life. And AI is there to lay out the toothpaste, not to drag you into a marathon.
So let me share with you a quick story. I recently worked with a business owner who would swing between two very different modes. Mode number one, I'm all in, I'm posting every day. I'm going live, I'm sending emails, I'm doing all the things. And then there was mode number two. I'm done, [00:04:00] nothing for weeks because they were exhausted and they got behind on client work.
The client thought the problem was discipline, but quickly they realized she didn't have a floor and a ceiling for her visibility, and we realized that together and we then defined a visibility floor, her bare minimum weekly habit, her visibility ceiling, what she'd do in a really good week, and then brought in AI to help her plan and repurpose content.
She started staying visible even in her busiest seasons, not because she suddenly had more time. But because the habit was simple, [00:05:00] realistic, and supported, that's what I want to help you build today, and I'm ready to dive in to step number one. We're gonna talk about defining your visibility floor, your bare minimum.
This is the level you commit to, even in the messiest of weeks. This is not your ideal. This is your realistic minimum. For example, one helpful post a week on your main platform, or maybe it's one short email to your list, or it could be one video every other week that you repurpose into post. I want you to think about your real life.
Busy weeks, kids' schedules. Client deadlines, and then let's not forget those low energy days. Then ask [00:06:00] yourself, if I had a busy imperfect week, what's the smallest visibility action I can commit to and still feel like I showed up for my business? That's your visibility floor. You're not trying to impress anyone here.
You're trying to build a habit that survives real life. Now, how AI helps once you've chosen your floor, you can tell AI, my bare minimum visibility habit is blank. And you're going to enter what yours is. It doesn't matter about everyone else's or anyone else's matters about you. And then you're gonna say, help me come up with 10 simple post ideas I can rotate through over the next few months.
Now, your brain doesn't have to come up with something new from scratch every week. You've got a list ready [00:07:00] and AI can refresh it anytime you need. Now let's move on to step two; we've gotta divine your visibility ceiling, that great week plan. It's what you do in a really good week when you have more time, energy, or creativity.
So let's go through some examples. So maybe the floor is one core post per week. But maybe the ceiling is one core post, two shorter repurposed post, one email, one story or real. The ceiling gives you room to stretch without making it the new rule. If you hit your ceiling some weeks, wonderful. If you'll only hit your floor some weeks, guess what?
You are still consistent. [00:08:00] And now you're probably thinking, okay, hey, how can AI help me here? Well, you can say to it, here's my visibility floor and ceiling for 2026. Using my Pre-Bake info, help me map out what a floor week looks like and what a ceiling week looks like with example topics. Now you're not guessing.
You've got two clear patterns AI can help you plug into, depending on your capacity that week. Now you heard me say about your Pre-Bake. If you have not done my Pre-Bake the Oven method, I highly encourage you to do so if you've already done it. It's a good time to update that information as well as different times throughout the year where there might be changes [00:09:00] in your business.
So let's go on to step three, build a weekly visibility ritual that you can repeat. Habits stick when they're tied to a specific time and trigger, not just when I feel like it. Or when I remember, I'm sure if we're being honest, we have all done that at times. I know I have. But I want you to pick one standing appointment with yourself each week and honor it.
It might be Monday morning with your coffee, Friday afternoon before you wrap up. Maybe it's Sunday evening when you're planning for your week. This is your visibility ritual. It doesn't have to be long. I would at least allow 30 to 45 minutes, and maybe the more you do it, [00:10:00] you won't need as long, but honor that time for yourself.
And then here's a simple workflow that you can use. So you can check in. Is this week a floor week or a ceiling week? Be honest. No guilt. You're just looking for clarity. Then tell AI what kind of week it is. This is a floor week. I have about 20 minutes. Help me create one strong post based on blank topic or offer.
Or this is a ceiling week. I have about 45 minutes. Can you help me create one core piece of content and then maybe three or four smaller posts from it, create them, then save or schedule. Remember, edit anything that doesn't sound like you or represent your business or brand. Save it in a simple doc. [00:11:00] Or if you use a scheduler, you can save it in there and then guess what?
You actually get to check off that you honored your visibility habit for the weak. The power here isn't imperfection. It's that you have a recurring container where visibility actually happens. Now, I'm gonna take a moment to pause here. And if you're thinking to yourself, Kristina, I love this idea, but my AI results still feel a little generic or don't sound like me. That usually means your setup needs a definite tuneup.
That's exactly why I created the Pre-Bake the Oven Guide. It walks you through what to tell AI about your business, your offers, your audience, your voice. So when you sit down for that weekly visibility ritual, [00:12:00] AI already knows how to support you, you can grab it for free. You will find the link in the notes and take the time to fill it out.
If you've already filled it out before, this is probably a good time to refresh it, and any time throughout the year that things change in your business. Now let's get back to the steps we're on step number four, protect your energy. Yes, this is so important and you wanna do it with very simple boundaries, and I'm here to tell you we cannot talk about habits without talking about burnout.
Your visibility habit should support your business and your wellbeing, not drain both. So I wanna share with you a few boundaries. I encourage you to set the first and foremost. Number one is time boundaries. Decide in advance how [00:13:00] long you'll spend on your weekly visibility ritual, and then how long you'll allow yourself to tweak and edit AI content.
Trust me, you can go on and on and on. Give yourself permission to say, I have 30 minutes. Good enough is good enough. Instead of polishing a single post for hours, let AI handle the heavy lifting. You make final adjustments and then you're done. The next one is platform boundaries. You do not have to be everywhere.
Let's say it one more time. You do not have to be everywhere. Choose one primary platform and maybe one secondary. Let AI help you adapt content if you want to repost elsewhere, but remember to anchor your habit on that main place where your people already are. Key words here, your people [00:14:00] already are, I didn't say your favorite platform, but the platform where your people are spending their time and energy.
Number three, mental boundaries. If you catch yourself thinking I should be posting every day, everyone else is doing more than me, please pause and remind yourself. My job is to show up consistently at my floor, anything above that is a bonus, not a requirement. You're allowed to build a calm, sustainable visibility habit.
That fits your nervous system, your season of life and your actual business. Don't get caught up in the noise around you and the thought that, well, this person's doing this, and that person's doing that. Focus on you and your business. Step five, let AI be [00:15:00] your gentle accountability partner. Whew. And this is one of the most powerful, helpful ways to use AI for habit building.
Treat it like a calm, organized assistant. You can literally tell AI, help me act like my visibility accountability partner in 2026. Each week when I come back, ask me if this is a floor week or a ceiling week, and then guide me through creating the content I need. Remember ChatGPT and other similar software and tools are learning models.
They learn based on the information you share with it. The other thing is you can also have AI summarize what you posted last week, suggest what to repeat, update or build on, keep a running list of ideas you [00:16:00] haven't used yet. This keeps your habit from feeling like you're starting over every single time.
Instead, you're just continuing a conversation. Okay, let's take a breath and let's recap what we've covered today. Consistency is a habit, not a personality trait. You are not behind. I'm going to keep saying that because I want people to realize now is your time. You just need a simple, repeatable rhythm.
Set a visibility floor and ceiling. Remember, floor is your bare minimum in a very hard week. Your ceiling is woo. It's a great week plan. Both are valid. Both keep you moving forward. That's the key. Create a weekly visibility ritual, one standing appointment with [00:17:00] yourself that you honor and you allow AI to support you.
Protect your energy with boundaries. I cannot emphasize this enough. Time boundaries, platform boundaries, and gentle mental boundaries. Let AI be your accountability partner. Use it to plan, brainstorm, and repurpose so you can show up without caring everything in your head. Your action step this week, we cannot wrap up without this.
Here's what I want you to do next. Write down your visibility floor and ceiling for 2026. Then pick your weekly visibility ritual time, and add it to your calendar. Block that time off. So important. At your very first session, make sure you tell AI, this is my visibility floor and ceiling. Help me create content for this week based on my floor.
That's [00:18:00] it. You don't have to build the whole year right now. You just need to start honoring this one habit one week at a time. Now I hope this episode helped you feel calmer and more hopeful about staying visible all year long. Make sure you follow along with me so you don't miss the next episode in the series where we're going to talk about using AI to help you make decisions faster so you can spend less time overthinking and more time taking aligned action.
