Kristina Stubblefield: [00:00:00] If you have a website for your business, let me ask you something. Do you actually know if it's working for you? Not if it exists, not if it looks nice, but whether it's helping people understand your business, trust you, and take the next step.

Today we're going to use AI to find out. By the end of this, you'll know how to look at your website with fresh eyes and tell whether it's truly supporting your business or just existing online. And more importantly, you'll know how to use AI as a thinking partner to help you spot what's working, what's missing, and where to start improving it without feeling like you need to rebuild everything.

Welcome to AI Simplified the podcast for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want practical [00:01:00] stress-free ways to use AI in their content and marketing. I'm Kristina Stubblefield, digital marketing strategist and creator of the Pre-Baked the Oven Method. Let's simplify AI so you can create faster, show up consistently, and feel confident in your content.

This comes up all the time when I'm talking with small business owners and even organizations. They've invested in a website. It's live. It may even look professional, but when we really stop, go over it. The question becomes, is it actually helping the business grow? Because your website should not just be something you have online.

It should be something that works for you, and AI can really be helpful here because it gives you a way to step outside of your business and look at your website more [00:02:00] objectively. And now before I go any further, I wanna make sure that I tell you. I use the Pre-Bake the Oven method, and I recommend it.

If you want better results from ChatGPT, you need to give it context. Tell it about your business, your audience, your offers, your voice, and what you want your website to do. The more context you give ai, the better it can help you elevate what's on the page. So today I wanna walk you through a simple website check using ai.

We're going to look at four things your website should be doing for your business. Clarity, trust, action, visibility. And what makes this so helpful is that AI can help you analyze each one because sometimes you are just too close to your own business to see the gaps, and my friends, AI can help you do that.[00:03:00]

So let's start with step one, clarity. The first thing your website should be doing is creating clarity. When someone lands on your website, they should be able to tell very quickly who you help, what it is you do, and what they can do next or even should do next. Not after reading six paragraphs, not after hunting through your menu, and not after they read through some clever wording.

They should know this is one of the places where AI becomes incredibly helpful. One of the most interesting things about AI is that has no built-in context unless you give it that information. So if you paste your homepage into ChatGPT, for example, and it struggles to understand your business, that's often a signal that a real person might struggle too.

That's powerful because the confusion that AI notices is often the same confusion a new [00:04:00] visitor can experience. A lot of business owners write website copy from the inside out. They know their business so well that they skip over the basics. They use language that makes sense to them, but not necessarily to someone landing on the site for the first time.

This is where AI can act like that fresh set of eyes. You can paste your homepage into ChatGPT and ask it. Pretend you are a first time visitor to my website based only on this page. What does my business do? Who is it for, and what should they do? Next, tell me what feels unclear or vague. If your homepage is not clear, your website may be online, but it is not working as well as it should. If this episode is helping you think differently about your website, be sure to follow AI simplified. This whole month we're talking about [00:05:00] websites, visibility and how to use AI to make smarter business decisions without making things more complicated.

Let's move on to step number two, trust. This is the second thing your website should be doing, it's building trust. Your website is often a first impression. Before someone calls you, emails you, or even fills out a form, they may be checking your website to decide whether you feel credible, current, even trustworthy. And trust is not built by simply saying you are great at what you do. Trust is built by showing people why they should believe in you. That might look like testimonials, reviews, credentials, even case studies, examples of your work, FAQs or clear service descriptions.

This is another place where AI can be a strong thinking partner. AI can help you identify trust [00:06:00] gaps because it can analyze a page and tell you whether there are proof points, credibility markers, and reassurance elements present in your website. In other words, AI can help you ask if someone knew nothing about you, would this page make them feel confident enough to reach out. That's a really important question because so many small business owners do amazing work, but their website does not reflect the quality of what they actually do. So you can ask ChatGPT, review this page and tell me whether it builds trust for a first time visitors. What proof? Reassurance, testimonials, FAQs, or credibility signals are missing.

Sometimes the issue is not your service. It's that your website [00:07:00] is not giving people enough confidence to take the next step.

Okay, let's move on to step three, action. The third thing your website should be doing is guiding people to take action. Now, this sounds simple, but it is one of the biggest issues I see. So often business owners know what they want visitors to do, but the website is not making that next step obvious. If someone lands on your website, what action are you inviting them to take? Book a call. Fill out a form. Request a quote, call your office, visit a service page? Whatever it is, it needs to be crystal clear, and this is where AI can be surprisingly helpful because AI reads things very literally.

So if your call to action is weak, vague, or buried, or even inconsistent, AI will often catch that quickly. [00:08:00] That matters because if AI cannot clearly identify the next step, there's a good chance your visitors can't either. A lot of websites accidentally create dead ends. Here me out the page has information but no direction.

That's a dead end. You can paste a page into ChatGPT and ask what is the main action this page is asking a visitor to take? If that action is unclear, weak, or missing, suggest three stronger calls to action in simple language because your website should not leave people wondering what to do next. It should guide them there.

All right, step four, visibility. The fourth thing your website should [00:09:00] be doing is supporting your visibility. Your website should help people find you, not just serve the people who already know your name. And this part matters even more right now because your website is no longer just read by people.

It's also being interpreted by search engines and increasingly by AI systems. I also sometimes refer to these as machines. Tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and other AI powered search experiences are pulling from information online to understand businesses, services, and expertise. So if your website is vague, outdated, or missing key information that affects more than just your human visitor, it can affect how easily you are understood online at all.

That does not mean you need to panic, and it does not [00:10:00] mean you need to burn everything down and rebuild a whole new website. But it does mean your website needs to clearly reflect what you do, who you help, where you work, and how someone can take the next step. This is where AI can help you analyze whether your content is actually doing that.

Here's another example, you can ask ChatGPT. Read this page and tell me whether it clearly explains what I do, who I help, where I serve, and what someone should do next. Also, tell me what might make this page harder for search engines or AI tools to understand because visibility is not just about keywords anymore.

It's is about clarity, [00:11:00] structure, usefulness, and consistency. Now, if you're listening to this and realizing your website is not doing all four of these things right now, very well, I want to remind you of something that does not mean your business is behind. It does not mean you have failed, and it definitely does not mean you need to throw everything out and start over.

Most of the time you may not need a full rebuild. You need a better lens. You need to look at your website more honestly, more strategically, and with the help of tools that can show you what you may not be seeing on your own. This is one of the things that I absolutely love about using ai. You are not using AI to replace your thinking.

You are using [00:12:00] AI to strengthen it. You are using it to ask better questions, notice blind spots, and make smarter improvements. So here's my encouragement for you today. Pick one page on your website. I suggest starting with the homepage. Just one page, not the whole website, and run it through this AI website checker ask, is it clear?

Does it build trust? Does it guide action? Does it support visibility? Then let AI help you identify what's missing. So open ChatGPT or whatever program you like to use, paste in one page from your website and start asking at the questions we talked about today. You may be surprised [00:13:00] how quickly you begin to spot opportunities to improve because your website should do more than just exist online. It should be working for your business, and AI can help you see whether it is or not.

Done is better than perfect. I just encourage you. To take the first step.
