How Customers Are Using AI to Find Businesses (You Don’t Even Realize It Yet)
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
What if your customers are already finding businesses through AI—and you don’t even know it?
In this episode of AI Simplified, we break down how AI is quietly changing the way people search, choose, and connect with small businesses. Instead of scrolling through Google, customers are asking conversational questions and getting direct recommendations. You’ll learn why clarity matters more than ever, how AI decides who to recommend, and what simple shifts can help your business show up.

Kristina Stubblefield: Have you ever stopped and thought about how your customers are actually finding businesses right now? Because I can tell you it's changing and not in a someday kind of way. It's actually already happening quietly behind the scenes, and most small business owners don't even realize it yet.
People aren't just going to Google anymore and typing in a few words. They're asking questions, they're opening tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, copilot, whichever these tools, and they're talking to them like they would a person. And this is what we're going to talk about today because I wanna show you how your customers
are already using AI to find businesses and why this matters for you. Because by the end of this, I want you to start seeing this differently, not as something coming in the future, but something that is [00:01:00] already impacting whether your business is being found or not.
Welcome to AI Simplified the podcast for entrepreneurs, creators, and small business owners who want practical stress-free ways to use AI in their content and marketing. I'm Kristina Stubblefield, digital marketing strategist and creator of the Pre-Bake the Oven Method. Let's simplify AI so you can create faster, show up consistently, and feel confident in your content.
So let's actually do something together.
It won't take very long. If you can open your favorite AI tool, whether it be ChatGPT, Gemini, whatever it is you like to use and ask it. A simple question, I need food for an event I'm hosting next month, what should I serve? Just look what it gives you. Because here's what's [00:02:00] gonna happen. It's going to give you ideas and then it's going to recommend businesses.
What? Yes, this is already happening in one question. AI tools are already recommending businesses. No scrolling, no clicking through five different websites. Just an answer that's right there. That's the shift because for years we've all done the same thing. Search, scroll, compare. Now people ask and they get answers, and those answers are doing the filtering for them.
So what does this mean? Well, it means AI is deciding who gets seen. And if your business isn't clear enough to be understood, it's not part of that answer.
And I want you to hear this clearly. This is not [00:03:00] something coming in the future. It's already here and it's happening right now. Your customers are already asking AI for recommendations, looking for services, making decisions based on what it tells them. So if this feels eye-opening to you right now, that's okay. You're not behind. You just haven't been shown this yet. Here's the opportunity because most businesses are not paying enough attention to this yet. You get ahead. And in the next episode we're going to talk about something really important, why some businesses are showing up in those answers and others aren't.
Because once you see that, everything starts to make a lot more sense. Remember, you don't need to do more. You just need to get clear because clarity is what gets you seen.
As a bonus to [00:04:00] this episode, let's do a little homework. So open your favorite AI tool. And if you don't have a favorite, you can go to ChatGPT or Google Gemini, and in the chat, and ask it Something that has to do with the industry your business is in, so you can see what information it shares back with you.
You don't have to spend a lot of time with this, but this starts to give you some clarity around your specific business. Stay tuned because you don't wanna miss the next episode.
