Some people find that they’re unable to control the amount of alcohol they drink, or the amount of other drugs they use, once they start. Mainstream addiction recovery philosophy refers to this as “powerlessness”.
Alcohol is objectively unhealthy for the human body. Rather than focusing on how to moderate consumption, this episode emphasizes ways in which listeners DO have the power to choose recovery.
