Gathering Gratitude: A Fall-Inspired Meditation

Sally Season 1 Episode 148

Send us a text

The air turns crisp, the light slips golden through the branches, and our pace finally eases enough to listen. We invited you into a fall-inspired guided meditation that blends breath, imagination, and gentle release—so you can feel grounded again and make room for what truly matters. Instead of pushing through the season, we learn to sit, notice, and soften: breathe in possibilities, breathe out gratitude.

We start by finding a kind posture and scanning for tension—jaw, neck, shoulders, legs—then relax by a few degrees to signal safety to the nervous system. From there, we step into an autumn scene rich with earthy scents and warm hues. The ground offers steady support, a felt reminder that we are held even when life is loud. With that steadiness, we practice letting go like the trees—releasing stale expectations, overcommitment, and the heaviness of constant striving. This is not about perfection; it’s about alignment with the season’s wisdom: endings can be generous, and spaciousness is fertile.

With space cleared, we gather our harvest. We name specific blessings that actually ripened this year: a kind word that changed a day, a laugh that cut through worry, small rituals that made mornings humane. Framing gratitude as a tangible “basket” trains attention to find sufficiency without denying reality. We close by carrying the warmth forward like a scarf—portable, practical, and ready for the next busy moment—so the calm doesn’t stay on the cushion but travels with you into emails, errands, and conversations.

If this practice fed you, explore our seasonal series boxes launching November 1, featuring five winter-inspired guided meditations and handpicked gifts from Petal and Pink designed to deepen rest and nurture your soul. Subscribe, share this with a friend who needs a gentle reset, and leave a quick review to help others find a softer rhythm this season.

Welcome to the Create Harmony Podcast. You have found a place that is all about setting an intentional rhythm and savoring life's best blessings. We like to learn how to use our imagination as a way of listening to God. And if you want to learn more about how to bring stillness and gratitude practices into your life, you're probably going to find a lot here that you love. And if you like to be creative and fun, you can find your place here as well. In this place, we'll take a few minutes to celebrate those everyday joys and remind ourselves how to notice goodness all around us. So this is episode 148, and I am your host, Sally Burlington. And today we are continuing through our great fall series. It's the series we do in the fall, and it's all about gratitude. So we're grateful and it happens in the fall, and so we call it great fall. And we are continuing through that, but today we're gonna take a slightly different slant on that topic by doing a gratitude and fall-inspired meditation. We did some guided meditations during the summer season, and we're adding in one of those throughout our fall. So today's meditation is fall-inspired. So the way that we're gonna do this, like we always do, is to shift into our mindful posture. What that involves is for you to think about your body and try to get into your most comfortable position. If you are driving or walking or doing something active, you can continue doing that. But just try to think about releasing any tension you're feeling in your body. Sometimes just thinking about that can help you soften a little bit and relax. Just think about that tension. Is it in your jaw, your neck, your arms, your legs, and shake it out a little bit, and get yourself comfortable so that you can listen for just a few minutes. Settle your mind, settle your soul, breathe in possibilities, and breathe out gratitude. If it makes sense for you to close your eyes, you can do that right now. Now imagine that you are sitting outside on a crisp autumn day. The air is cool but comforting. That earthy scent. Golden light filters through the branches, and you see the colors of amber and rust and gold. With each breath, you feel yourself settling into the rhythm of fall. This season of letting go, a season of gathering gratitude. Take a moment to notice what the ground feels like beneath you. That support that's always there. The earth steady and generous, holding you just as it holds the roots of every tree. Take another deep breath in, and as you exhale, imagine that you are like trees that release their leaves at this time of year. Feel that same ease of releasing from your own body anything you no longer need. Now you can bring to mind the blessings in your life that have ripened this year, the kindness of others, moments of laughter, simple joys that warmed your days. This is your harvest. See these moments gathered in baskets before you. A soft, glowing reminder of all the goodness that surrounds you. Back into your body wherever you are. You can take one last deep breath, breathe in possibilities, and breathe out gratitude. You can bring the warmth and thankfulness with you like a cozy scarf on a cool day. You can hold on to that feeling of warmth as we close. If you closed your eyes at the beginning, you can open them now. And we're all back together on the podcast. So glad you joined us for our fall-inspired guided meditation. If you liked that experience and you want to have more of that in your life, let me remind you about our seasonal series boxes that are launching on November 1st. They are filled with five guided meditations that are very similar, but like an immersive experience for your life, that are winter inspired. They're baking bread and cozy time and all sorts of different warm and nurturing experiences for your soul. So you can get that. And also in the boxes are gift items that support these peaceful experiences. We've partnered with Petal and Pink, which is a mental wellness boutique in our town, and they are providing all of the gift items, and they are one of a kind, unique things that you can't get anywhere else, and you really don't want to miss it. It's a great gift idea. Again, launching on November 1st. You can check it out by going to mycreateharmony.com and learn more. So we hope you don't miss out on that. So thanks for joining us for today's installation of our great fall series. Hope you'll come back next week to continue the conversation. And until next time, peace.
