welcome to This Week in fitness by atfw where we crunch the latest fitness business headlines all in under 5 minutes I'm your host Chrissy Van and here's what's making news NHS England has released a new report urging that physical activity be embedded into routine healthcare the report harnessing the benefits of Physical Activity highlights that movement isn't just preventative it's essential for managing long term conditions like muscular skeletal issues and mental health to major drivers of economic inactivity despite the well documented benefits more than a third of UK adults don't meet aerobic activity guidelines and a quarter are considered inactive among children and teens nearly one third get less than 30 minutes of movement per day the economic impact staggering a Sport England and Sheffield University report valued community physical activity at over twelve billion US dollars that includes 6.6 billion in health care savings 2.2 billion in reduced social care costs and 570 million saved through fewer GP visits four years the fitness industry has pushed for this kind of recognition emphasizing that physical activity is more than a lifestyle choice it's a health intervention BNHS is now calling for stronger partnerships with the sector and is outlined a four point plan to empower clinicians integrate activity into Care Pathways support staff well being and collaborate with local providers meanwhile lifetime has expanded access to its LTH branded supplements by launching them on Amazon the move comes as a company commission survey found that 71% of US adults feel overwhelmed by supplement choices or confused by labels lifetime is aiming to simplify the experience with over 50 products developed by inhouse dietitians and trainers free of synthetic colors flavors and sweeteners the supplement line was born at a founder Barama Krati's frustration after discovering that a multivitamin he used failed third party testing that LED to lifetime launching its own rigorously tested lineup new editions expected this year include a caffeine free pre workout collagen protein bars and a magnesium based sleep formula in wearables Germin's Phoenix smartwatches are part of the frame 2 space mission the first all civilian flight to enter polar orbit researchers are using the devices to collect biometric data like heart rate oxygen levels and stress continuously on a single battery charge the mission in partnership with the Translational Research Institute for Space Health aims to improve understanding of human performance in extreme environments while orbit may seem far removed from the fitness floor the same biometric tracking tech trusted in space is being used by fitness professionals to personalize programs monitor recovery and track long term progress meanwhile Novo Nordisk may take legal action against compounders producing unauthorized versions of Wgilvy their CEO told shareholders that compounded versions are affecting 2025 sales and the company believes its intellectual property is being violated the FDA had allowed compounding under emergency provisions due to supply shortages but that exemption has now ended pharmacies have until May 22nd to stop producing compounded wagovi Novo Nordisk has also expanded its savings program

dropping the cash price for eligible patients from 6:50 to 4:
