In 2014, I became a Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and my business has been evolving ever since. Today, I’m a full time personal meal prep chef and meal planning coach.

Dr Parsons considers Guilford CT the hometown of her youth. I’ve been a Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor since 2015. Jane Hardwicke Collings is a grandmother, former homebirth midwife for 30 years, a teacher, writer and menstrual, childbirth and menopause educator. She offers training programs on mother and daughter preparation for menstruation, and all her workshops. She offers workshops on the spiritual practice of menstruation, and the sacred dimensions of pregnancy, birth and menopause.

After delaying her dream of becoming a mom to focus on her career, she decided at the age of 37 that it was time. When she learned her only chance to have a baby would be through IVF, she took the leap and started the journey of becoming a single mom by choice.

Lakia soon found herself navigating the world of infertility as a Black woman, confronting the challenges of finding a Black sperm donor, and facing how her choice would impact her career.

With the help of donor sperm, Lakia gave birth to her daughter, Isla, in May 2024.

Most recently featured on Progyny’s “This is Infertility” podcast, Lakia is now using her platform and personal experiences to tell her story and bring fertility awareness to the Black community.

Through years of struggling with pelvic pain and Endometriosis, it was often proven to me that most fitness and exercise would only trigger my pain and symptoms. I was skeptical of giving yoga a try, but in 2012 while living in Key West, Florida, I decided to make an attempt. During my time on my mat, I witnessed my body prove to me, pose after pose, what it was capable of. I knew I had to make yoga a part of my life and share it with others, especially women like me dealing with chronic pain. Fast forward to May 2020; I graduated my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program, and started teaching regularly in studios and virtually. Since then, I have increased my training and become a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certified in Trauma-Informed Yoga + Yoga for Women's Health. I love teaching the value of this practice not only for a strong mind/body connection and deeper body awareness, but as a therapeutic modality to ease the symptoms and pain of pelvic health issues.

Susan Salenger is the author and researcher behind SIDELINED: How Women Can Navigate A Broken Healthcare System. Sidelined examines the many ways in which some women manage and sometimes mismanage their healthcare. (Released, April 2022)

Susan explores how women, typically the medical gatekeepers for their families, tend to be extremely conscientious about taking care of themselves, yet at the same time inadvertently undermine their own care. They often hesitate to call the doctor when they don’t feel well and worry that their doctor visit will take time away from their families or work. They may hesitate to ask doctors the necessary questions and don’t always comply with the doctor’s instructions. Salenger’s research reveals how conflicted many women are about the medical decisions they ultimately make.
