11. Understanding & Preventing Burnout in Psychologists with Dr Hayley D Quinn
Mar 20, 2024 Season 1 Episode 11
Kerstin Anderson-Ridge

Burnout has a tendency to sneak up on psychologists, especially when we are still devoted to our work and helping clients well in our practices. It can be easy to ignore the warning signs and write it off as being ‘just a bit tired’.

My guest today, Dr Hayley D Quinn, is passionate about helping psychologists to recognise the signs and support themselves before burnout hits. As the Anti-Burnout Business Coach and a clinical psychologist, she helps service-based business owners to help them change their relationship with themselves and their business, so that both can thrive.

In this episode, we spoke about:

  • Our own personal burn-out journeys
  • The importance of self-awareness, diversifying your work and prioritizing self-care to sustain a long career
  • Recognizing the signs of burnout (beyond just physical exhaustion!)
  • Finding a balance between work and personal life
  • Designing sustainable business practices
  • The role of self-compassion in preventing burnout
