Ep. 150 Why Your Hip Hurts When You Lie Down
If your hip aches every time you try to get comfortable in bed or lay on your side—this episode is for you.
We’re digging into one of the most common complaints I hear from patients: “It feels like my hip is bruised,” or “I can’t lay on my side without pain.” You’ve probably tried stretching, foam rolling, even Advil… but the pain keeps coming back. Why?
In this episode, I break down the real reason your hip hurts when you lie down—and spoiler alert: it’s often not just your hip. We’ll explore:
🔹 Why tightness isn’t always the problem—and stretching isn’t the fix
🔹 How pelvic instability and weak glutes or hamstrings are secretly behind your discomfort
🔹 What you actually need: core alignment, muscle activation, and a smarter approach to movement
You'll also learn the three areas I always assess in patients with this kind of hip pain: the pelvis, adductors, and hamstrings. When you retrain your body to move with proper support, those nighttime aches can finally become a thing of the past.
It’s time to stop managing symptoms—and start fixing the root.
