It’s more important than ever to have better friendships. As I get older, I realize how much I need real friends in my life—friends who genuinely care about the relationship through both the sad times and the happy ones. I want friends who will walk through the fire with me and also dance on the tables when life is good. And honestly, I’m tired of one-sided friendships—the kind where someone talks nonstop about themselves, then goes silent the moment I start to speak. You can tell they’re just waiting for their turn to talk, because their favorite subject has always been themselves.
