The Shake Up Podcast with Candice Harvey
Welcome to The Shake Up — your weekly dose of real talk with me, Performance Coach Candice Harvey. I’m a former corporate HR professional, and since 2018 I’ve been running my own shake-up business helping teams and individuals thrive.
I know Monday to Friday in the corporate world isn’t always cute outfits, hanging with your work bestie, and popping out real quick for a matcha—It’s more like surviving back-to-back meetings that should’ve been quick calls, dodging the people you can’t stand, and pretending you’re still productive by 3pm.
Most of the time, we’re stuck in our own heads, running on autopilot, watching the clock and wondering why we can’t just do the damn thing we said we were going to do.
That’s where me and my fancy rode mic come in. I’m here to shake you up — with straight-talking strategies, a smidge of humour, and my obsession with human behaviour in the workplace… because I get it, I did it for 15 years.
I’m a former corporate HR pro, and since 2018 I’ve been running my own shake-up business, helping teams and individuals go from “things are busy” to “things are GREAT!”
So, if you’re ready for a nudge at work, a perspective shift, or maybe even a loving kick up the bum… you’re in the right place.

124. Second Half Starts Now. Shall we set you up for success?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
We are officially, undeniably, no-getting-around-it at the halfway point of 2026.
And before we go any further, I want to ask you one question.
How was the first half?
Not the Instagram version. Not the "yeah good, really busy" version you give people when they ask. The real one. The honest one. The one you say to yourself at 6am when nobody's listening.
Because here's the thing - you already know the answer. Somewhere in that gut of yours, you already know exactly what the first half looked, felt and sounded like.
So today we're not going backwards.
This episode is about what happens next.
I'm asking you six questions. Real ones. The kind that might make you a little uncomfortable. I'm also answering every single one myself - live, no script, no filter - because if I'm going to ask you to get honest, I should probably go first.
👉🏼And make sure you download my FREE 90 Day Guide to help you turn your insight into action!
Second half starts now. Let's go🧡

Welcome, welcome, welcome. You just hit go on the Shake Up podcast, you absolute legend. My name is Candace Harvey. I am a speaker, author, workshop facilitator, and I'm also known as a people shaker. I spent 15 years in HR, and in 2018, I started my own business with a simple switch. I stopped helping companies manage their people and I started helping people manage themselves. Because I get it. Working life, like a nine to five, is a lot in 2026. You know, it's meetings that rob you of 45 minutes, you're never getting back. It's an inbox that's relentless, it's personalities that have you deep breathing. And that 3 p.m. crash that hits like clockwork, that's real. And no, I don't think quitting your job is the answer. However, I do know that shaking things up absolutely is. So if you're ready for a nudge, a reset, or a loving kick up the cute bum, you're in the right place. So it is July, first week of July. And I have to tell you, I'm doing really well with my goals. Like, I don't know if you know. I was talking about a little bit last week on the episode, but my goals for July, there are three of them. Do you want to hear them? Well, I'm gonna tell you anyway. I'm gonna tell you. So, number one is all about being bold, right? And what that means to me is it's about not holding myself back anymore, which might sound a little bit like, uh, I don't think Candace Harvey holds herself back. Of course I do. Of course we do. We are human. There are things that we do in our life that keeps us a little bit cozy and comfortable. And when it comes to my business, my business that I absolutely love, the opportunities that I've had have been incredible. There have been a lot of, you know, referrals, word of mouth, work that has landed in my lap because people have Googled me or they've heard me on someone else's podcast, and it's been incredible. However, being bold this year is all about, and being bold, sorry, for the especially, see, I'm already getting excited. Like it's actually a goal for July. And I'm like, you know what? This year for the rest, and I hope so, is all about knocking on doors and really getting in contact with people that I want to work with. Like me going, hi, you don't know me. I'm Candace Harvey, and I want to work with you. So that is what it's about for July, and I am loving it. Already the things that I am doing that I did last week that I just would never have done. And not because of there was fear, I just don't think I'd thought about it before. So that's been brilliant. Um, and my second goal, I've got three of them, is all about moving more. So that has been awesome. With moving into a new house, my routine has been all out of whack. I've changed gyms. I actually really miss my gym. We signed up to Fusion only like a few weeks before we found our house. Oh, guttered. So we haven't actually signed up to another one. Um, that's okay though. I have been walking a lot more, and that is what I wanted to do, moving my cute bum, and it is just it's just getting cuter, which is great. And the third goal, which my husband had zero belief in me, which it sounds nice, doesn't it? You know, like you you marry people and you think that they're people and they're gonna support you and they're gonna really back you in everything that you do. And I remember I was standing in our new kitchen, love the kitchen, love it. And I said to my husband, I said, babe, so uh for the month of July, I'm gonna try not swearing. And he was like, You will not be able to do that. And I was like, I think I can. And he's like, No, I don't think you can. So it locked it in, right? It locked it in. And like I actually uh was sharing last week on my socials as well, that setting goals and creating goals is not about getting other people's approval. It's not about getting their endorsement, it's not about setting a goal that other people know that you will very easily be able to achieve. No, it's not. It's about getting clear on what you want to do. What are you curious about? What matters to you? And for some reason, like I've never thought about this before. And it's funny because even last week on the episode when I was talking about being 1300 days of booze-free, sober-free, haven't drunk in three and a half years. It really, until I made that decision of not drinking, I hadn't really thought about it. And until this moment where I don't even know why it landed in my head, to be honest. Um, but I decided like I just want to try and not swear. I think I have started swearing a little bit more. So my habit, I guess we want to call it a habit, uh just kind of increased. And I was like, I think I need to rein it in. In all honesty, though, I love swearing. I know that might sound weird, but I actually love it. I think it can be very impactful. I think it can be hilarious. I think when timed well, it can shake people up. I love it as a tool. I love it. I think I was using it just a little bit more outside of it being a tool. So uh, and I was being a tool. I wasn't, but that just sounded funny. So I'm doing really well. Thank you so much for asking. But it is July, which means that we are officially, undeniably, no getting around it at the halfway point of 2026. And I want to ask you something before we go in any further in this episode. How was the first half? And I don't want to hear the Instagram version, not the yeah, good, really busy version you give people when they ask you. I want the real version, the honest one, the one you say to yourself at 6 a.m. when no one's listening. How was the first half of 2026 for you? If you're not allowed to just say busy, if you're not allowed to say good, if you have to really give an answer to it, what's your answer? Because a few weeks ago on the Shake Up Podcast, we did an episode called the No BS Reflection. Where are you really in 2026? And I gave you five questions to get brutally honest with yourself about where you actually were. And you loved it. I had so many DMs and emails and photos of you and your notepad answering the questions which you know gets me excited. You know it. And that's why you do it. You know the little selfies of you listening and all that. I just get so excited. So you you did it. Cut it out. Never cut it out. Don't ever cut it out. Keep doing it. But the fact that you love this reflection episode tells me something. It tells me that a lot of you are walking around carrying more clarity than you're actually giving yourself credit for it. Right? Like you actually feel sometimes like, oh, I don't know what I'm doing. I don't know. Yeah, you actually do. You just need someone to give you permission to really look at it. So today, we're not doing that again. We're not gonna do a repeat of the episode. You can actually just go back and listen to it if you didn't, and you should because people loved it. So today, though, we're not going backwards. Today is about what happens next. Because here's what I know about you. I mean, I might know you, I might not know you that well, but I still feel like someone who listens to the shakeup, this is what I know. You've probably already done the reflection. Like you already know somewhere in that gut of yours what the first half looked, felt, and sounded like. And now that it's July, I think I mentioned that, right? It's July, yeah. Uh, you've actually got six months left of the year. And the question is no longer where am I at? The question is, what am I gonna do about it? Like the second half starts now. So I want to be able to help you to set you up for success. Shall we do that? Yeah, let's do that. But before we get into that, a quick little thing. At the end of this episode, I'm gonna point you to something completely free that I've put together. It's my 90-day plan. It's my five-step process that I have lived, I've tested, I've refined over 20 years, really. And I use it on myself and then on the hundreds of leaders and teams and individuals that I've worked with over the last however many years. It is zero fluff, it is zero overwhelm, and it will take you, I don't know, a juicy 60 minutes to work through. It's on my website. The link also I'm gonna put in the show notes so that you can go directly to it. It's not gonna cost you anything. I really want you to get your hands on it. I see people downloading it all the time. It has been around for a few years now, and it's my most popular downloadable. It has been. So people love it, I love it, I use it. I don't just tell others to do it. It actually works for me. So I whip it out every 90 days and I do the five steps, my steps. But I don't want you to grab it just yet. I want you to sit with this episode first, answer these questions, actually feel into where you are and where you want to go for the rest of the year. And then when you're clear, the guide gives you somewhere to put all of that. It turns the insights into a plan. And then the plan into action. Oh my God, yes, please. Right? So follow this. Follow this process, listen to this episode, get all juicy. I don't know why it's the second time I've used the word juicy, but this is what's happening today. Um, it's funny the word you use when you know how to swear. Not that I would have sworn in that particular point, but I'm just saying. I've been saying the weirdest thing. I've been saying flipping, I've been saying fruitcake. That's been good one. Fruitcake, yeah, it's great. Makes you smile. Uh, less aggressive, you know? Uh, but let's do that. Let's get you all ju. Oh, I was about to say juicy again. Stop it. Let's get your creative clogs turning. Let's turn that insight into a plan, the plan, then into action. But first, here are some questions for the episode today. So, six questions, and I'm going to do them actually with you today, I decided. So, I wasn't gonna. I was gonna just sort of really talk you through how to help you with answering them, but I may as well do it live with you and go through. I actually just changed the way that I was sitting just then because I was like, oh, if we're gonna be answering these questions together, like sit up, Kanda, shoulders back. Now is a great time. So here we go. Question one. So there's six, get a pen and paper. I know I already know the ones who love the previous episode are ready with their pen and paper. Or you might be listening to the car. I have a few people that liked it when they go for a walk, go for a run. That's great, but you're probably gonna have to listen to it again. So, number one, remember each one of these are actually gonna get you clear on your 90 days. Okay, so don't just think that. Just focus on the actual question. So, number one, what have you quietly stopped doing and do you actually miss it? So, what have you quietly stopped doing and do you actually miss it? So, not the big stuff. This is actually the small stuff. This can be the morning walk, the book that you were reading, the hobby you kept saying you'll get back to, the thing that used to fill you up that somehow just got dropped when life got loud. You know, did life get busy or did you just quietly let it go without even noticing? So let me go first. So, what have I quietly stopped doing that I actually miss? For me, it probably is my morning meditation. Yeah, that would have to be it. So, this is a 10-minute thing for me. So I know that a lot of people, I was even reading Robin Sharmer's book just recently, and he, I think he says he meditates for an hour or two hours, and then he actually says, like, that's a good time. And I was like, Stop it. To sit there for an hour, 10 minutes is really great for me. I do have some moments where it gets to the end of 10 minutes and I've just got into it, and then I reset for 10 minutes. I mean, that hasn't happened a lot. There have been those few moments, and it's either I'm really enjoying it and I have the capacity to do another 10 minutes, or I feel like I need another 10 minutes. So, but I do 10-minute blocks. That just works for me. And honestly, it takes effort. Like it, I know that even hearing that and someone who has no kiddly winks, who doesn't even have pets, who literally is solo, I mean solo with a delicious husband, 10 minutes still takes a lot of effort for me. I do avoid it like anything. You know, keeping still is still a bit of a struggle for me. But when I do, oh my God, I feel so set up for the day. I feel like my nervous system loves me so much more. It's also this sign for me when I start it in the at the beginning of the day that I'm like taking care of myself and I'm taking myself seriously. I love it, but it quietly, I just stop doing it and I really do miss it. So this isn't something that's time consuming, but somewhere between the diary filling up and the to-do list taking over, I let it slip. So I want you to think about yours. So that's meditation for me. That actually makes me want to like turn off this episode and just go and go and do a 10-minute meditation. Oh my God. I'm actually, the moment I stop recording this, that's what's gonna happen. I'm gonna go and go and do it. Because now I just feel it in my bones that I just want to sit still for 10 minutes, which would be absolutely awesome. But I want you to think through yours. Like, what did you used to do? Even something small that you stopped. And more importantly, do you miss it? Because if you miss it, that's information. That's your life telling you something needs to come back, right? So there are a lot of things that we've stopped doing. That's why I really want to add that point of do you miss it? And then we just think we have to pick it up. You know, it's like, oh, I used to, I used to do CrossFit or I used to do um high intensity training, or I used to go swimming in the beach. It's like, that's great that you used to do that. I love that view. Do you miss it? And if you do, let's do something about it. If you don't, that's just something that you used to do. This is just something that I used to do. That's a different song. Oh my god, I just went completely off on a tangent. Question number two Who have you become really good at performing for?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love this question.
SPEAKER_00Who have you become really good at performing for? Your boss, your followers, your clients, your family, who are you showing up for on autopilot? And when did you last just show up as yourself? This one is quite a personal one for me. Um, there are some friendships. There's actually like two people where I perform, where I'm a version of myself that's a little louder, if you can believe that or not, a little more on, a little more Candace Harvey, the brand, than Candace Harvey the actual human. And my husband actually noticed it. When did he? I think it was last year. Yeah, it would have been last year, that he noticed it before I did. And he asked me why I was different around these people. And honestly, I didn't, I didn't actually have a great answer to start with because I hadn't thought of it before. Um, and that's that's okay. But it what it actually came up for me when I was thinking about this is that it's okay to have different parts of you flare up or come down around certain people. Flare up or come down, right? Around certain people, that happens. But in this particular instance where my husband noticed it with a particular couple of friends of mine, it came up for me that I'm a little bit uncomfortable around them, which was uncomfortable to actually admit, but it was true. And also, it's very useful data, right? Like if I'm not comfortable with people, I can start performing a version of this like real confident over-the-top person rather than just being me. But now that we actually had this chat, I have been so aware of it. And not just when I'm with these two individuals, because they're not expecting me to do that. I've known these people a long time. It's all me. Like they're not forcing me to do that, they're not creating that, they're not put that's it's me, me being a little bit of a lunatic, right? Feeling like I've got to perform around them. Um, but now it's really got me clear on thinking about how I am when I'm around certain people. Am I performing? Am I being me? And is there something that's clicking in where I'm feeling like I have to be more than, less than, quieter, louder? What is it? And like I said, I don't believe, and this is where my husband had a real, I had a bit of, we had a bit of a debate about this, a healthy debate, a happy debate, smiles on our faces debate, where the way that my husband is around every single person is the same. The way he is around his kids, the way he is around his work colleagues, the way he actually, everyone except me, like I get to see this really great side of him where there is no barriers. He is just silly, he's ridiculous, he's just playful, he's he's all things. Like when he's moody, he gets to be moody. Like I get to see all of it. However, if I take myself out of it, the way he is with everyone else in his life, he is so consistent. He just is. He doesn't ever feel like he has to be someone different for different people. He is purely himself. I, on the other hand, I have very different people in my life. I have very, you know, even if I look at how I am at work, and if I look at um when I'm interacting with friends or family or whatever, there are so many different versions of me. And I actually love that. I really do love that. I remember being in a workshop once where I was running my Energizer workshop, which is all about disc, and it still is one of my absolute faves because everyone gets to complete the disc profile before the workshop. I then come with their 24-page individual booklet that is all about them to the workshops. They learn so much about themselves. And it's really about learning who you are as a person, but also being able to flex when you're around people who are not like you. So this is not about all of a sudden just being a weirdo and faking who you are so that you fit in with other people, like ooh. But I remember someone actually asking me that because I said that in this particular organization, the three directors that I work with are a different style to me. Right. So I'm very energetic, I'm very on, I get um a lot of my inspiration, um, my clarity, the way that I articulate comes from being around other people. Like I get a lot of that. But when I'm dealing with these other senior leaders in the business, one is very reserved, one is very direct, and one is very like quiet and shy, right? And and I said, I get on with all of them. And the lady actually said, like, but are you, does that mean you're not being you? Does that mean that you're being a very different person? And then you go home and you're exhausted because you're you're having to be these different versions. Like, no, I'm still absolutely being me, but I'm able to still be a bit flexible. So I can still be that real personable me. But when I'm with someone who's quite quiet and reserved, I tone it down. I'm still me. I still make them laugh. I still give them energy, but I tone it down. When I'm with someone who's very direct, I still be me. I still have energy, but I get straight to the point. When I'm with someone who wants all the detail, who wants to have a little bit more of the theory base behind it, I am still me. I'm still hilarious, but I get straight into this is what the results will be. This is what you're gonna gain from it. This is the quality change, this is the effectiveness. So I can actually adapt, but I'm still being me. When it's not great, is when you are honestly putting on a completely different mask and you are just being who you think the other people want you to be, and then you go home and you're completely pooped. That's not right. And so in this workshop, it's really about teaching people how to still be you and interacting with people and being with people who are very different. My husband and I are complete polar opposites. It's hilarious, right? Like I think that for so long that when I was dating outs outside of him before him, they were like male versions of Candace Harvey. It didn't work. I didn't marry those guys, did I? But you want to be able to be with people who have these strengths that you don't have, but know how to actually interact with them. But this question alone of who have you become really good at performing for is just something to really lean into. There is no right and wrong with this, but just to really go, who do I spend a lot of time with? How do I feel when I'm around them? Do I feel like I'm actually being me? Do I feel like I'm being a different version of myself? Do I like that version or is this something I need to do differently? So who are you performing for? And what would it feel like to just not? Question number three. Is your circle challenging you or just agreeing with you?
SPEAKER_01Oh, I love this question.
SPEAKER_00Love it. Is your circle challenging you or just agreeing with you? If you can't remember the last time someone in your life genuinely pushed your thinking, that's the answer. So here's a really quick test. I want you to look at the latest five people that you spent the most time with this year. So really just write that down. This year so far, there's been six months. Who are the five people that you spent the most amount of time with? And are they pulling you forward or are they keeping you comfortable? So you can even look at your phone. Like who's the top, who are the top people that you message? Who are you actually spending your time and energy on? For me, the people who challenge me the most are Ange and I, my husband, uh, my friend Monique, uh, Soph. I've got two, I've got a Sophia and a Sophie, actually. They both really challenge me. I love that. These are people who don't just nod and say, Yeah, amazing. They don't. And sometimes they're a little bit terrifying when you talk to them because you know they're gonna give you the honesty. They are the ones who ask the question that make me kind of go, oh, right? They ask me things that really push back, or for me to just go, this is just what happened. How ridiculous. And they go, no, not really. I think you need to get over that and move on. Oh, yeah, good one. Thank you so much. Comfort is lovely, right? Like being around people who are like, good job, yeah, that does suck. Yeah, you're right. Like, fine, but it doesn't actually help you grow. And if your entire circle is just keeping you comfortable, it might be time to shake it up. So, question three is is your circle challenging you or are they just agreeing with you? Question number four. If your energy was a bank account, are you overdrawn? Good question, isn't it? If your energy was a bank account, are you overdrawn? So this is not about time, this is not about money, this is about energy. What has been making withdrawals this year? And what has been making deposits? And be honest, like when did you last actually top it up? Like if I'm actually really real with you right now, my energy bank account right now, I'm spending roughly what I earn each month. Which sounds okay until you realize there's no buffer, there's no savings, there's no reserves for when something unexpected hits. My deposits are actually smaller than they should be. Exercise is at the bare minimum, which is why it's one of my goals for July, and I'm really ramping that up. Nutrition hasn't been something that I've been prioritizing as much as I used to. And I know, because I coach people on this, that running on empty is not a strategy. It's a countdown. That's what it is. If you are actually fueling yourself with the bare minimum, it is not the best way to operate. It's just a countdown. So starting from now, or starting, sorry, from the first of July, it has been exercise is something that is at the top again. And so is my nutrition. Like really focusing on what's going in my gob, putting the biscoff to the side, right? Just having a break. Like the last jar, I haven't replaced it. My husband hasn't asked, where's the biscoff? I think he knows. I think deep down he knows that I get spoonfuls of it. It's ridiculous, right? So looking after my nutrition has definitely been something that's important. Because look at you know, if this is my bare minimum, like take this as a warning, right? Like it's gonna get really hectic. I just want you guys to know that. Yeah. Like this is me operating at bare minimum. Yeah. Great. So uh yeah, it's it's gonna get hectic. But where are you at? What's draining you that you haven't named yet? And what fills you back up that you've been putting last? Like, what are the things that you know give you a lot more energy that you actually haven't been prioritizing? So, question four if your energy was a bank account, are you overdrawn? Question number five, actually, I just need to have a cup of my sip of my tea, which is definitely gonna be cold, let me tell you.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_00100%. God, I rarely make myself a cup of tea and it stays hot the whole time. I have to be having a cup of tea and either sitting with a friend or my husband or family member and just just talking and having tea. If I make my tea and I even have it while I'm watching TV, good luck, it won't happen. Or if I have it while I'm working, good luck. Like it's actually ridiculous. Like when I'm in front of my computer, I'm typing. So the idea of being able to pick up a I don't know, I'm just I'm 40 and I still haven't nailed the whole make a cup of cooked tea and drink the tea. You know? Question number six. We've got two more questions to go. Question, no, question number five. Question number five. What did the first half of 2026 actually teach you and are you gonna use it? What did the first half of 2026 actually teach you and are you gonna use it? So a few weeks ago on this podcast, we did an episode, like I said, called the No BS Reflection. And one of the questions I asked you was, what have you been calling fine that actually isn't? And if you answer that honestly, and I think a lot of you did because a lot of you shared it with me, you already have your answer to this question sitting right here. Because here's the thing about lessons we love collecting them. We love the moment of clarity, the journal entry, the okay, I need to change this realization. What we're not as good at is actually doing something with it. So this isn't about finding a new lesson. This is about the one that you already have. Like, what did the first half of 2026 show you about yourself, about how you work, about what you need, about what's working that you haven't actually acted on yet? I'll go first. The first half actually taught me that not walking each day doesn't work for me. This year, like I said, I haven't walked as much, and especially the last couple of months. And it might be because I actually walked so much last year. You remember I did my 50k walk, and I I think I honestly did lose my walking mojo a little bit afterwards, in all honesty. But it truly is the thing that works for me. Even on days when I have to force myself, I always feel so much better after I've gone from a gone for a walk. So I think that the first half of 2026 definitely taught me that I have to get back to walking each day, and it has to be a non-negotiable. And it is now something that I have to implement. It's not good just to know it, like I've said. So we can all just accumulate all because every single day I'm learning something new. There are lessons that I learned from clients or calls that I have or ways that I show up in workshops or feedback that I received or just my own insights that I gained because I'm so open to being the best version of me that I can possibly be. And there are a lot of things that we actually take action on. There are some things that we don't. So, in all honesty and transparency, and I'm gonna share this with my uh shake up podcast listeners because I think it's it's really important that I do that. There is a lot of reasons why one of my goals is to go uh swear free. Is that what I'm calling it? Swear free? Not swearing. I think I'm calling it swear free. That's weird actually. But I'm calling it swear free, is because I get a lot of feedback all the time. I get a lot of incredible feedback. And every now and again, I get feedback where people don't like Candace Harvey. It happens, it is part of what I do. There have been a few people who haven't liked my book. There are, and I honestly think in every workshop, it doesn't matter how many people are in the room, there is sometimes one, maybe two, people who are like, I don't like you. And that's okay. Like I actually talk about in the Shake Up book, I am like Veggie Mutt, you either like me or you don't. And I have been getting a little bit of feedback lately from the people who don't, saying that they think I swear too much. And so I am not the sort of person to disregard feedback all the time. There are some things that I receive in feedback, and I got one recently that was really mean. Really, really mean, right? Like as in, I read it, there were four paragraphs on it, and it just felt like either she was having a really bad day or she genuinely just can't stand my existence. But there was nothing, nothing positive in that whatsoever. However, there also was a comment of she swears too much. And I think after my last sort of three or four negative comments, if we want to say, do we want to call them constructive? We can call them constructive because it's what I do with it. I was like, I want to lean into this a little bit more. Like I'm not someone who asks for feedback and does nothing with it. I appreciate it. I might not agree with it all the time, but I want to play with it a little bit. And so that has been one of the reasons, as well as me noticing that I have been swearing a little bit more outside of normal. Um, so I want to be able to rein it all back in. But there are things sometimes that we have to look at and go, is that that is that a lesson that I want to do something with? Or is that a lesson that I'm gonna park? And for me, with the swearing, it's a lesson that I want to play with. There was a lot of other things that she said in her four, four paragraphs that I am absolutely disregarding because, like I said, some of it was just blatantly mean and not true. Um, but I do think that she was having a really bad day as well. I reached out to her and she didn't reply back. So that's that's totally okay. Uh so that's it. But I want you to think about yours. What are the things that you are going to do differently this second half of the year because of your learnings? And question number six. Oh, I love this one. I'm so excited to talk to you about this one, actually. Question six. This is fun. Are you ready? Yeah, you're ready. This is the only one that I pre-did. And I'll tell you why. If your best friend described your life right now, what would they actually say? What do you reckon? If your best friend described your life right now, what would they actually say? So this is again not the Instagram version, not the you're amazing, you're killing it version, the real version. The one they'd say if you asked them, genuinely asked them, how do you think I'm actually going? And what would they say? So I asked two of my besties, which was really scary in all honesty. And I sat there for a little bit. I was like, do I ask them? Because I knew that this was going to be a question that I was going to include in the podcast. And I was like, oh, it'd be really great to get their answer. And also, I want their answer, right? Um, so I did it because sometimes the people closest to us have information about our lives that we haven't been willing to look at ourselves. So I asked them. So Ange and I, ready? So I asked Ange, this is what she said. When I actually said to her, you know, how would you actually describe my life right now? And she said, uh, living life on your own terms, enjoying an exciting new chapter of home ownership and doing life in a way that feels right to you. She said, in your life right now, you are putting time into refining what you want to deliver and stand for in your business, and you're thinking really deeply about that. And you're also making a converted effort to only invest in friendships that feel aligned in in your life. Converted? Concerted. I think I meant to say concerted because converted doesn't make sense. I'm making a concerted effort to only invest in friendships that feel aligned in my life. And I loved that. So looking at like how Ange actually said that, you know, it was all about how I, you know, I'm in an exciting time. Yes, I'm doing this new chapter with my husband with our home, which is so exciting, and also really looking at my business and the next level that I want for my business, but refining it. And I love that she was saying that I'm really thinking very deeply about that because I absolutely am. And also, friendships is really important to me, you know, spending time with the people who I really want to be spending time with and not spending as much time with the people that I know I just don't want to be anymore. So that was hers. And then I asked Di, and she described my life right now as the calm before the storm. She said there's a reset, there's a change in business, there's a change in house. She said she feels that I'm in the winter season and I'm about to spring into spring with a new version of me coming, which I loved. And then we actually did the exercise for each other, and it was such a beautiful exercise. So please do it with your besties too, because it might actually surprise you. I actually thought they might come back and say something about mental, crazy, and hectic, but really they didn't. And I actually thought that it's actually not. You know, it was really funny because I think that yes, we moved, and yes, I'm still running my business, and everyone has said, how's the boxes? How's everything going? And we did it. You know, like we moved house. We've done it a million times before. We weren't frantic. We were really calm. We had it under control. It took an entire week and we did a lot of trips backwards and forwards because we did it ourselves. Um, we're still setting things up, but we're okay. And it doesn't feel like a mental chapter for me at all, but it definitely does feel like there is a lot more to come. So I love that both of them can kind of see it and saw it very differently than I was picturing it. So refinement and focus on what matters most for me is what came up. So I loved it. Do this with your friends and ask them to describe your life right now. And here's the follow-up question that matters most. Does what they say sit okay with you? And if yes, brilliant. And if no, that's that's your second half right there. You know, there might be things that you actually want to change. You know, they might come back saying that your life is hectic and nuts and bonkers, or they might come back saying it looks, it doesn't feel like you're doing much at the moment, or it's, you know, you've never got anything to report, or whatever it is. But it it doesn't necessarily mean that what they're saying is bang on accurate, but it's gonna give you something to go. Do I agree with this? Do I not agree with this? Has this upset me? Has this excited me? And what am I gonna do about it from here? So please, please ask your besties to describe your life right now and see what comes up and then do it for them because it was a really fun exercise that the three of us got to do for each other. So they were the six questions. And if you actually sat with them, even just a few of them, I want you to really notice what came up for you. Maybe it was clarity, maybe it was discomfort, maybe it was that, you know, specific feeling of I already knew that, but I haven't wanted to look at it. All of that is good. All of that is useful. All of that is the first half of 2026 telling you something about the second half. And now, here's the thing though: insight without action is just a really interesting conversation with yourself that changes nothing. So here's what I want you to do. I want you now to head to the link in the show notes and grab my free 90-day planning guide. It's a five-step process, like I said. It is built from 20 years of working out what actually works on myself first and then on hundreds of others. It will take you 90 juicy minutes, I think is what I said at the beginning of the episode. And it will get you clear on your top priorities. It will preempt the things that are going to try and derail you and turn everything that just came up in this episode into an actual plan for the next 90 days. Zero fluff, zero overwhelm, just a bucket load of clarity for you, direction and follow-through. The second half of 2026 starts now, right? Like it's we're in it. We are right here. And you just did the hardest part. You got super, super honest. So now it's just about building something and doing something with it. So thank you so much for being here. If this episode landed for you, please share it with someone who needed a second half reset. Leave a review if you haven't already and DM me seriously. DM me. I'd love to know which question hit the hardest. Until next time, go have fun and shake things up.
