So Jamie is the founder of Empowered Alignment, a sanctuary dedicated to holistic healing and personal growth. In addition to these healing modalities, jamie offers a thoughtfully curated selection of products, including teas, candles, flower essences, crystals and oracle cards, all designed to enhance your spiritual practices. Empowered alignment is a true haven for anyone seeking to align with their highest selves. Join Jamie on this inspiring journey of empowerment and healing. So Jamie is the owner of Empowered Alignment, a wellness studio in Lakewell and Palpac, pennsylvania, and she is also a client of mine that I've worked with for about two years now. So it's been absolutely amazing just supporting her on this journey, and we talk a bunch about it in today's episode, but I'll share all of that for you to listen to in the next few moments here.
Rachel:I will share, before we dive into the episode, that, if you stay towards the end, we do talk about an upcoming event and I'll share a little bit about it here as well. So on November the 9th at 10 am it's a Saturday I'll be teaching in person at Jamie's Studio, empowered Alignment, in Lake Wallenpaupack, pennsylvania, and I'll be teaching a breathwork class all around heart, healing self-compassion, self-love, and it's going to be a really beautiful class. There'll be some sound healing in it as well. So, if you'd like, come to that class. And then the next day, on November 10th, there's also a class that I'm participating in, not teaching, and it is a drum birthing ceremony circle. So there's this facilitator, christopher, and he walks you through this Native American practice of creating your own drum, and there is so much that goes into it. But Jamie explains it towards the end of the episode and I just wanted to shout that out before we dive in.
Rachel:So if you have any questions for myself or Jamie, definitely check out the show notes. You can let us know, and I hope that you have an incredible rest of your week and an incredible rest of your day and I will talk to you soon. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm so excited to bring you our next guest expert, jamie, owner of Empowered Alignment and many other things, and before I pass it over to her to introduce herself, I'll just share that. Jamie and I met a few years ago and our friendship and relationship and working relationship has evolved over the years and so I'm so excited to have her here on the podcast to share more about her story and her journey, and I can't wait for this conversation. So, jamie, thank you so much for joining us today. I'd love for you to introduce yourself and just share with us a little bit about you and your story.
Jamie:Hi, rachel, thank you for having me. I'm so excited because we've been talking about this for a really long time. That's finally here, so I'm very excited to be on here. Thank you for having me. For those of you who don't know me, I am Jamie Lucozzi I also go by Miss Jamie Lee and I am a sensuality and sexuality coach. I help women come back to their bodies and kind of just learn to feel safe and free to express themselves. And that was a little online business I ran before going into a brick and mortar. So now I own a brick and mortar called Empowered Alignment and I'm still doing my coaching in that store. But now Empowered Alignment is, like I call it, a holistic healing hub where practitioners, customers, clients, people looking for healing can all come and find exactly what they need when they need it, and it's been, you know, so amazing.
Rachel:Just being over the past few years like being part of this experience of doing the sensuality and sexuality coaching, and then watching you open this beautiful like in-person studio, and it just sounds absolutely amazing. I can't wait to come in person and visit and just see it for myself. Uh, so I'm excited, but how did you land on sensuality and sexuality coach?
Jamie:Well, I'll just say, rachel, you've kind of been through it all. You've seen the journey. From pretty much the beginning. I was dabbling a little bit into like spirituality before meeting you and then, like you kind of have seen the rest of the wave. So you've pretty much seen it through the beginning. And in the beginning I was kind of just coaching right, like kind of just navigating my way of like finding who I am, where I want to go, what my niche is, and but I was like in an when I first started this journey two years ago, and I think the reason why we resonated like I resonated with you is because I was so disconnected from my body, not only my body, like my physical body, but like my mind too.
Jamie:You know, physically I like you know, I wasn't. I couldn't move a certain way, like I couldn't shake my hips too much or I couldn't walk too. You know, sexy or whatever it is, I couldn't dress a certain way. I couldn't wear V-necks, I couldn't dress a certain way. I couldn't wear V-necks, I couldn't wear skirts. So like I felt physically, like in my body, uncomfortable, but then also in my mind, you know, people always tell me growing up, people always telling me like, oh, you don't want to go here, you want to go here, you don't want to eat this, you rather eat this. Or you don't want to paint your room that color, you rather paint it like. And so even in my mind, I felt so uncomfortable making decisions and I always looked for social cues how to make the right decision and at some point, like doing, starting to do this work and connecting like to my intuition and things like that, like there was such this, like I don't know the word, but like, like I, like I couldn't handle, like trying to read the social fuels while also trying to read my intuition. So I started to follow my intuition and, like I did more practices to like get comfortable in my body, get comfortable in my mind. And that's how I came to sensuality and sexuality coach, because sensuality I took as like learning to tap into the five senses again, so feeling, smelling, tasting, seeing, listening, right, like really tapping in, to be like more present.
Jamie:Because I was also so ahead in the future, I was like five years ahead of the present moment, and so the sensuality part, the focusing on the sentences and like what was going on in the present moment, really brought me back and actually when I came to the present moment, it helped. It helped like alleviate some of that anxiety of like what's going to happen in the future. Because I was always, because I was so ahead, I had like three plans. I was like, okay, if this happens, then this is going to happen, then this is going to happen, then this is what's going to happen. And then so I got to do this. But if someone in that chain says no, then this is like, then this could happen. So I was always like this and I had so much anxiety of like, okay, I got to pay attention to all the things going on.
Jamie:So then, even just coming back to the present moment, in my senses like kind of just like alleviated that, set, um, those anxieties, and then the sexuality part is just learning to be comfortable. I was always told I'm too loud, I'm too um, like I'm too pretty, I can't wear red lipstick because that means, like whatever it means. I can't dress a certain way because it's too provocative and it's going to turn other people on. And so, like I always had to like consider everybody else, what made everybody elseinity or their masculinity, if that's like the way they want to or that's a path they want to walk down. Whatever it is, just learning to be comfortable in your own skin. Yeah, I just liked the ring of it sensuality and sexuality.
Rachel:Amazing. No, it sounds amazing. It sounds so good and so spot on and just really empowering, really, um, like embodying you know yourself. There's some autonomy there, choice like just really empowering qualities. I uh could see how that could really be supportive for people. Um, if someone was just starting out in getting more in touch with their femininity or like their bodies or their senses, like this big thing that you touched on was presence, like what might be some things that you would say they could get started with, or like things to focus on to get more in touch with their sensuality and sexuality.
Jamie:Well, I'll just say how I started. I mean, everybody has their own path, what they like, what resonates, what doesn't resonate with them. So I'll just say, like, for me it started with a few things simultaneously, so meditation was one of them. It's just like you know, I wasn't good at quieting or focusing my mind, but just taking even like five minutes every morning. This is I wasn't good at quieting or focusing my mind, but just taking even like five minutes every morning. This is how I started. Was five minutes every morning, kind of just sitting with myself and they call it like body scans, so kind of just seeing what's going on, like I would always usually tap into my heart center and like see, like, is my heart rate up, why is it up? Or is it like do I feel safe, do I feel calm? Kind of just like doing that every morning and just trying, if it even was a minute, was like focusing on, not thinking about anything, just to kind of just sit with myself. So that was one practice I did. And then another practice I did too was to connect better with myself, because I actually, like I don't know if I ever hated myself, but I didn't treat myself nicely. I struggled with anorexia when I was younger and a body image and even like putting on some clothes as, like an adult, I'd be like, oh, this makes my shoulders look so big or I don't like the way this like doesn't compliment my skin tone. So I was a little I was always like a little hard on myself, and so affirmation like affirmations with poses also helped me connect to myself a little bit, and I got that from a book that I once read.
Jamie:Is you stand in the mirror? Right, and I would do. I would purposely stand in what is that wonder woman? Pose like the power, pose hands on your hips, like shoulders back. I would stand in front of my mirror and then the task was to work your way up to like saying listing five things you like about yourself. But that was really hard in the beginning because I was like, oh, I don't like my thighs, I don't like my arms, but I started with the one thing I did like.
Jamie:So for however long it was, I would stand in front of my mirror, look at myself in the mirror and say, like I like my smile, like my smile is gorgeous, that's who I am.
Jamie:Then the next time it was like you know like I like my hair today, it like looks really good and that might seem superficial, but just finding those little things like about myself that I liked helped me like appreciate being in my body or my skin more. So those were two really important things that I and I did in the beginning and then just dabbling in like things, that like things I maybe didn't know and was curious about. Like I was part of a group where we had dance parties once a month on Zoom right, and it's just like how embarrassing is like people think it's so embarrassing to dance in front of people right, like to just like kind of do whatever you want, but like it was so nice to be in a community of other women and this is all on Zoom, so you can imagine kind of how like odd it was at first that we're all like together but we're all on computers and you're dancing in front of your computer.
Rachel:But like that helped me just kind of like embrace my body more and gratitude, gratitude every night before bed yeah, all of those practices sound really nice and supportive and things that you can access, you know, at any time. It's not, you know. You mentioned like a five minute body scan, meditation, affirmation, with like empowering poses, dance parties and gratitude, and it just sounds, you know, really, really supportive, amazing, really, really supportive, amazing. And so how did this journey of kind of like going through your own healing journey and then discovering that you could support other people with it also lead you to open Empowered Alignment, your in-person studio?
Jamie:Yeah, so the more time that I dedicated to like practicing my spirituality, like trying to work and connect to myself and the experiences I had having like the eating disorder, going to therapy groups, and like talking to people um, a lot of women in the same position as me. But before doing this work, before tapping into like my intuition, my like, um, intuitive abilities and things like that, like I didn't recognize, like being in the same room as people, like I didn't see what was going on with other people, but now being aware, and then also like going through coaching and learning how to be like an instructor and doing more work, like one-on-one coaching, I'm able to like be in a room and listen to what people are saying, watch their body language and see that like often pick up on the disconnect or the misalignment with like what they. They say I'm in a happy relationship. I love the relationship I'm in, but then, like you can pick up on the cues that like they're just saying that because we're supposed to say that, um, and so, like you know, I can walk into a room, a restaurant even, and see it like a bunch of tables and say like, uh, like kind of like she's got like an eating thing, or like I could sense that and like, why do people have that? Because there's something that they're uncomfortable with, there's something that, um, they like need control or whatever it is.
Jamie:And and again, a lot of friends in my friend group this is actually how I think I came up with like being a sensuality sexuality coaches, like being in relationships and talking to people and relate, like with my friend groups and talking about the relationships and like how this one instance in particular is like you know, everybody's getting married and me and this one friend we're in relationships where I was like stuck but we don't know what to do and we take it out on ourselves and like we would talk about it and we would say, like you know, is there something I'm doing wrong? Am I not good enough? Is like you know whatever the situation is like? But we would take it out on ourselves and I and I'm like you see this in TV, you see this in movies, but like to actually have conversations in person with other people. It made me realize like, oh my god, like they're like this is real and there's so many people who need support, need to feel confident and empowered, that like they are in control of their lives that they don't have to. And I think this really resonates with my group because I'm in that late thirties where, like everybody's expected to be married and have a house and have children and a couple of my friends don't like and it's not, you know, they want it and stuff like that. But the reason why Empowered Alignment came was because, like we we and I'm going to speak more for myself, but I do recognize this in other people that I was in communication with was we were waiting for somebody else to start our lives right, to give us the key or to give us the ring so that we can start moving into adulthood and through working with other leaders. I was like, oh my God, like I'm letting somebody else control my life, I'm letting somebody else get me so wound up that this isn't happening and this is happening to other women in my friend group, like this is not okay.
Jamie:So I empowered alignment came from was like the empowered pieces, like building up your confidence, feeling in control and and in alignment. And that's like the empowered alignment part is like you're in control. You're the one who steps up and says this is for me, this isn't for me, this works for me. This doesn't work for me. So that way you can live like in the alignment, in peace, in abundance, in ease, in flow. So, empowered alignment, that's how that came to be. I love it, yeah, yeah.
Jamie:And then it's a way to like and it's not just one thing here at empowered alignment. Right, it's not just a yoga studio, it's not just a breathwork studio, it's not just like a retail store, it's really like a combination of things. Because you know, right, like I've worked with you, I've dabbled in, um, I've dabbled in like tons of things. I'm like, oh, let me go to this gong meditation, let me go to this drum birthing thing. Even though I had no idea what any of these things are, I was like, let me go try it, let me see what it is. Let me go to a sound bowl, let me try breath work, let me try yoga, all these different things. Some things worked for me, some things I absolutely loved and some things I was like, eh, this isn't really for me, but I saw the joy that it brought other people and it was really hard to find these places. I was willing to travel an hour, two hours or pay whatever I had to pay to get into these events, but like also chasing them, like I would have to travel to different States to like experience these things.
Jamie:So now, rather than having everybody chase everything, cause the journey is already hard enough right, the journey's hard, but then our schedules are hard, with work, with kids, with friends, with all the other different hobbies.
Jamie:So, instead of having people chase all these different things, I said let's like create one place where everybody can access anything, so you can come here and find out when we're having a breathwork class, you can come here and find out when I'm doing a meditation, like you don't have to go here, here, here, where's this person going to be on this day, what time Like, and then things get lost in our calendar. I'm one of those people that's like oh, that was at six, whoops. So, trying to keep something really regular, something that works around everybody's schedules, like like I'm open really early and really late for the people who want to get in before work and the people who want to come in after work and the people who want to come in after work, and then in between it's like an open studio. So really, really dedicating this space to people who want to connect to themselves, find themselves, heal themselves.
Rachel:Yeah, yeah, the mission sounds so clear. I love it and it sounds like um. Something that I also always kind of like encourage is just keep like getting out there and trying different things. Like keep going and going to the class, going to the workshop, connecting with the person, like doing whatever you need to do to work through what you're moving through in a way that's like curious and fluid. It makes it so much more fun. It makes it more like, oh yeah, like I'll go to that class or like I'll meet this person and then you know the next thing. You know it's like you found like a few tools that you really enjoy and you get to. It's like fun to do it in that way and then receive from it in that way too. And I know that there's like so many different things that you mentioned that you've tried. Can you tell us a little bit more about how Breathwork has helped you in supporting like the vision for your business and your personal life, like whatever you want to share about it?
Jamie:Oh, yeah, okay. So, like I said, you've been there, rachel, from the very beginning before. So, when I met you, empowered Alignment was a vision. Right, it was there, but it wasn't fully developed. It was just like, okay, I have the name and I kind of know what I want it to be, and I was still working for my full-time job, I was working part-time for somebody else and then, plus my family, rachel knows is very dramatic and has been very dramatic over these last two years.
Jamie:And so breathwork, again, was one of those things that really helped me connect to my body. So, before signing up with Rachel, I didn't know what breathwork was. She just told me it helps, like, with anxiety and, you know, really brings you to a state of calm. So I was like, okay, that's me, I need that. And so, not knowing what breathwork was, I was like we're going to learn something new and I was in a what was it? Three or four month commitment. So it was a little bit of a while. I was like, okay, well, if I don't like it, I'm like in here for four months, but whatever, we'll give it a try. Um.
Jamie:So we tried it and in the beginning, um, I was very shy. I was like we were very basic level I was. She was like what do you want to work on? And I was like, um, I don't really know, but here's what's going like. We didn't have really like deep conversations, but then, as time went, we became friends, right, so, and the experience just became like so much more amazing. So to the point where I used to come to a session and be like, oh my God, rachel, like take a seat, because this is going to be a long one today, like you're not going to believe the week I had. But that was like it made it a really good experience, because I was actually more open to talking to you about things than I was to a therapist or some other coaches. I had, right, like it really, like I could really come and say like this is what's in my well, first you helped me identify what's in my body, right.
Jamie:So in the beginning we worked on identifying emotions and like where that was in the body and like what they were feeling. So first you helped me connect to that through breath work, right. And then, after I was able to identify, like where it was, what was going on, and what I needed was what was going on and what I needed. Then, eventually, our sessions converted into um, like me saying, okay, here, like here's where I'm at this week, like I could even tell you I was like I would be, like I was triggered on Tuesday about something my heart rate's up, I haven't slept Like I need to move this emotion, but I'm not sure how. And you would just say, okay, I have a meditation in, like a breath work lined up, like we could do this to move it, which was so helpful. And then, over time, um, when we weren't meeting, like I could be, uh, at work or I could be, um, I could be in public and like feel a feeling and be like okay, like I Rachel taught me, like when I feel this feeling, let me breathe, like this way, and so I would, you know, do that. So eventually I had the tools to navigate it on my own, but mostly for breathwork.
Jamie:What breathwork has really been for me is safety, being safe in my body, and like also being in control of my body, which kind of goes with the empowered alignment, is like, when other people are anxious or other people are angry or there's chaos going on that I can't control externally, being able to come back into myself and controlling my emotions and my feelings physically like physically just even like doing doing the halo, active breath, I can bring myself to calm and so like knowing that I don't, I was always scared, like you know, my family, like I said, my family was very dramatic, um, with things, like we were always fighting, we were always yelling, and like that feeling could disrupt me for like three days.
Jamie:Like I could go three days with all thinking about like just replaying conversations and replaying actions and worrying about what was going to happen in the future. And breathwork really like brought me into myself and said like like you're safe, you're safe, you're here, you can ground yourself, you know, don't worry about again what's going to happen five days from now, kind of just like be here, be now. So, yeah, safety, breathwork has brought me safety yeah, thank you so much for sharing.
Rachel:Oh man, it's been. It's just so much fun and so amazing but it's work.
Jamie:Right, it was work. We've met every almost every week besides holidays and vacations once a week every week for two years, so it is a commitment yeah, absolutely, absolutely, and it's yeah.
Rachel:There's no like quick fix.
Rachel:I think, when it comes to making that connection with the body and I know for myself too on my journey, like just having that foundation of safety, that's something that was foreign to me.
Rachel:When I first started like learning about all this stuff, I did not feel safe in my body. I didn't know what that meant, I never even heard of the word before and I had so much anxiety and that's even for myself, that's like the most empowering thing and the thing that I love the most, because it doesn't matter where you are, it doesn't matter where you are in your life and physically, if you can connect to that place that feels safe, your anxiety will ease, you'll feel more present, you'll be able to feel more resilient, have more capacity to move through your life. Um, because it's yeah, life is good life. You know like things are gonna happen. Yeah, we're gonna have now some more tools to navigate it, so, um, but yeah, I've absolutely loved working with you, obviously, and the journey continues. Let the good times roll. If anyone was hesitant about either doing breathwork or somatic coaching or, yeah, like unsure about getting started, what is some maybe like advice that you might give them?
Jamie:that you might give them. So I think what has really helped me and is be open to opportunities, right, whether you think they're strange, or you don't think they're in alignment, or you've never heard of it, you don't know anybody in the group, right? Like how many times do we not go to something because we don't know anybody in the room? But what I would really just like suggest is like being open to it, right, because you get from it what you put in.
Jamie:So, if you're just showing up, like our first conversation, I think I was like I want to work on a daily routine just because I didn't know you, right, and I was like I'm not really like going to open the doors, why is this thing right? It was like I'm not really like gonna open the doors, why it's this thing right? It was like okay, um, it was okay, but then, but then as I like opened up, like then we started having like these deep conversations and that's what's actually like allowed me like just, despite all the chaos going on right, every week, showing up for these session is actually what moved my needle to opening this store over time. But without being open, without opening my mind and lowering my guard, I wouldn't have been able to make those shifts that I needed to do, I wouldn't have showed up the way I needed to show up. So definitely be open, because you make of it what it is.
Jamie:And what else would I suggest to people they say and I definitely agree with this they say that you should try something for 90 days before quitting or making a decision about something. So, yeah, maybe the first time I was like eh, but, like I said, I was in a four-month commitment and then I ended up being in your container for two years. So you got to give something some time to grow, give yourself some time to settle in, give yourself time to play and experiment and then, after 90 days, if, if it doesn't feel good, if it doesn't feel aligned, then you can say I tried it and it wasn't for me.
Rachel:Absolutely, yeah, absolutely. I love that. Well, thank you so much for just sharing more about what your experience was like and just being, you know, open and honest and vulnerable about your story. I am so inspired about everything that you're up to and about your journey, and so if someone wanted to work with you or wanted to come to the studio or stay connected, what are some ways that they could do that?
Jamie:So obviously you can come to the store, right? We're located in Hawley, pennsylvania. You can always come visit the store. You can always follow me on social media. So, miss jamie lee, on both facebook and um instagram. Those are my personal ones where I do a lot of like empowerment coaching for women. But you can also follow the store um, which is more like our events, more like what we're up to um, and that's empoweredalignment underscore healing hub. Yeah, and then I do have booking links where you can see on what events we're having. So that is in the show notes. We'll drop that in the show notes.
Jamie:I think it's like empoweredalignmentclassesasme right, because it's a Q&A. My website is not up yet, but it will be up eventually. But, yeah, for now, social media would probably be the best way to like reach out or email hello at empoweredalignmentnet, and then you can always email me and get subscribed to my email list and I send. I am so much more in the emails now because I don't know, social media has kind of given me anxiety being on there everybody's. When I hop on social media, all I see are promotions and um this and sign up for this and sign up for like. It gets like so cluttered, I think right, with ads, and then I feel like everybody's watching me, like I'm afraid to click something, cause then I'm going to get tons of ads for that. So, while I am still active on social media, I'm kind of just more putting pictures of like what we're up to and what we're doing, like look at this experience, and then more in my email of like that more personal connection, of like I even just did a restorative yoga class, right. So and this is just this is just an example of some of the emails I give but I, you know, I wear my aura ring, I love aura.
Jamie:So, before going to aura, my sleep scores and my readiness scores were like 70, right, which isn't great. They were like the 70s. For like a week I went to one of our yoga, our gentle yoga class. That's at night and it's the class is like fully dedicated to like deeper sleep. The next day I went to class, or the next day I woke up and my org gave my scores. I was in the 90s and so, being the science person that I am, I wrote like this whole email. I was like, first of all, like yes, I love yoga, but besides my bias of just liking yoga, like I actually have stats to show you what's going on and I get a little geeky in my like in my email list. So if that's more of the like and I think that's the place, because if you want to read it, you'll read it and if you don't, you'll leave it right so definitely the inbox is where the party is and then you can keep those things you are.
Rachel:You're such a phenomenal writer. Um, yeah, I love your emails. They're so fun. Uh, and I agree, yeah, it's social media. I could do a whole episode on just social media. But social media especially as a business owner too and just having like an offering, it can get, yeah, super overwhelming. There's so much that can come up there, so it's nice to have those other outlets that you can like stay connected with somebody without having to go on your phone, both as a consumer and as someone that's putting something out into the world. So, definitely get on the email list. It's, it's super fun. And then, one other thing that I'll mention I do have one closing question for for you is we have well, you have a bunch of different events coming up in November, but two of them I'm making the trip.
Rachel:So if anyone in the New York area wants to carpool or come hang out with me, I'm making the trip for a drum burning circle, which I'm so excited for. So if you're coming to any of my November classes, we're bringing the drum. It's gonna be awesome. I'm making it. I think I'm going with, um, the heart intention that's what I'm being like, pulled towards which one is that? I think that's the deer skin. Oh, cool, if I remember correctly, but I think so. Yeah, so I'm super excited. So I'm going, uh, to Empowered Alignment, which is in Lake Wall in Powopack I hope I just said that right Pennsylvania. So I'm making the trip and that's that class, that drum birthing class is on Sunday. So if you're feeling called to make your own drum, let's do it. And the same weekend, that Saturday, I'm teaching a breathwork class and it's all focused around heart healing, self-love, self-compassion, really strengthening that connection with yourself. So I'm excited for both of those classes. And you played a drum with the facilitator before, right.
Jamie:Yes, so I'll talk about both events. So it would be a really magical weekend if any of you listeners came um. I'll also drop a link or rachel will drop a link in the show notes for a hotel. So there's literally a hotel right next to my store, right? So, like you, don't even have to worry about travel. Um, it's all settled, right.
Jamie:Um, so the drummer thing is, when I first heard this, I was like I've worked with christopher for a long time and I never knew that he did this. And I found out. And then for years I was like I was like I want to do it. I think it was like a year. I was like I didn't know what it was, but I was like I want to do it. So in the spring, on my near my birthday, it was so crazy. Um, he was like I'm offering an event. I was like, well, sign me up and it's really cool because he's native american and it's like really sacred ceremony and he does it beautifully. Um, he gets all the skins from, um, a native american tribe. Um, you know everything. He blesses everything before making it and then it's like you're in, like a community, and he teaches you like what, what his culture would, would do and still does, right, like he's. Like. You know, when one of the members feels upset, right Like in the drum circle, we like beat the drums like he starts and like, if he's feeling upset, like the beat and the rhythms and the sound all comes from, like his emotion, and then somebody else takes over and each of the skins represents something else, right? So you said the deer is the heart chakra.
Jamie:I first made mine with elk skin and that's really the intention was, just before I start, just before I quit working my full time job, to start building empowered alignment. That is, the drum represented community, represented strength, represented stamina, like that will to continue. So I was like, oh my God, this is perfect. And you write your intention on the inside of the drum as you're making it Right. So, like I wrote, empowered alignment, what everything it was going to be like helping women, um, like leading yourself right, all these different things. And then you, you actually take, you actually make the drum yourself, like with the skin, with the wood, you tie, like you tie the skin onto it. And then, on my birthday, it was so amazing that you have to wait three days for the drum to dry before you can play it. And so my drum came to life quote unquote on my birthday, april 10th.
Jamie:So it was like so, and when you play it right and this is like for you when you go to Rachel's sessions after she makes this drum, when you play it, you like like you'll hold it. When I hold it over myself, you can feel the vibration. So like when I play it over my heart, you can feel like the vibrations going into your body and like it automatically just like increases, like if you're having like a bad day or sad emotion, whatever it is. It like just raises like your frequency, it raises your vibration to just like it's. I can't like I'm smiling so big right now, cause, like I know the experience, it's just so hard to explain. I love it and I'm so, I'm so excited for you to come and experience it because it's going to be great.
Jamie:And then your intention. I don't know if you did this on purpose, but your intention is for the heart chakra the day before. So I was like well, rachel's like sign me me up because I'm coming. So I was like well, can you be a special guest and be facilitate like a session before the drum circle and she was like yeah, absolutely so. I was like perfect, because I love your breath work I mean it has worked, it wonders for me like I definitely, it's definitely helped me get to this point today opening the store. Um. So she was like, yeah, so did you. Did you focus the event around, like your intention for the so?
Rachel:the way that came to be for me was um, I've been using like themes for each month, and November, I think, will be like the heart space. I think that's going to be the theme, and then it. It worked with the drum, but I won't have the drum yet for the breathwork, but it's still. It's going to be just heart centered weekend. That's what it is. So, come, heal the heart. Yeah, I mean, I have chills. I'm so excited and so inspired by like everything that you just shared. I'm literally so excited. I can't wait. It's going to be amazing, gonna be amazing.
Jamie:Yeah, it's gonna be a really good weekend. Ah, I'm, I'm really excited. Like you could even set your. You can come like do a breath work session with rachel, like clear yourself, clear your energy, open your heart, heal your heart, and then come into this drum birthing session and like be a clear, like clear vessel so you can like really set an intention in that drum and then that like anytime I mean, this is obviously up to you if this is, but this is like how fun, excited and like nerdy I get is like then every time you play the drum, like that contain, like this container, that container we were in or will be in, will be in that drum.
Rachel:Yes, so so it's not just a one-time experience, it'll really be like whenever you want yeah, and I remember when you had made yours, like how powerful it was and how much you loved it and that's I was so inspired by your story with it and that's why I was like, oh my god, I need to do this. This sounds amazing.
Jamie:Yeah, but for anybody who is considering doing it, the deadline is October 28th because he does have to get the supplies.
Rachel:Yeah, yeah, okay, so they'll have about when this episode airs like two weeks to make that decision, or like a week and a half, I think, maybe to make that decision. So, yeah, and if you have any questions about anything that we chatted about in today's episode, you can always message myself. Anything that we chatted about in today's episode, you can always message myself, you can always message Jamie, and we can always answer any like questions that might come up around any of it. And then one last question just to kind of close out our episode today. Thank you so much. This has been so fun, and this this could be about anything that we've already discussed or something that is maybe we haven't chatted about yet, but just in general, what is one thing that is lighting you up right now, that is inspiring you in life?
Jamie:What is lighting me up right now?
Jamie:I think what's really lighting me up right now? Two things. One is my network of people coming together, and this is kind of like business related, but I'm so in the business right now, so I'm just like on this business high. But one is like the network of people that I have like established relationships with. I've worked with so many entrepreneurs you right, you actually introduced me to flower essences and so I've tried those. My girlfriend my other girlfriend makes these teas that she uses her gifts to make, and it's really. But they're all things that I started out trying in my practice.
Jamie:And now to be at the level where I'm working with them, like at their level, with them, versus like with them as like a coach is really like, really nice. And that's to like come back and like put a nice bow on. This is because of the breath work, like continuing to show up, continuing to do the work, continuing to like heal the wounds and, um, always envisioning that best self, like your what's that one you do at the end of the year. Your vision board, right then, like your mid-year check-in or like all those different things, like just showing up and doing them, has really allowed. That allowed me to, like get to that place where I can work with them and collaborate with them on that level. So that's a really nice experience that I'm having right now.
Jamie:And what is the other? I said I had two things that are lighting me up. And what is the other? I said I had two things that are lighting me up, I think, just finally, like having the dream come to life, right, like it's one thing to have it in your head and it's one thing to have it on paper and it's one thing to have it as an intention for your flower essence or it's an intention to have it, like in a journaling practice. It's one thing, right.
Jamie:But to actually be at this place where, like, you've like, crossed the finish line, kind of, and then like, okay, it's here, right, like that is, that is just an experience like a lot of people don't get to have because they always keep those ideas on paper. So to finally make it off paper feels really good and really exciting, really rewarding, so yeah, and then, of course, the feedback that you get, like people walk in here and they're like, oh, my God, it feels really calm, it feels really like relaxing, it smells so good, like I can sit here forever, great Comfort, passive. But to know that the intention, like the intention, is being felt, it's being seen when people walk in here, is also something really nice to hear, to feel right. And now it's kind of like, now that we've met this goal, like what's the next one? How much bigger can we like? Where's the next level?
Rachel:sky's the limit. I love it, oh my god yeah and've.
Jamie:Actually, I need to get working with you again because, like, I have been so uh, dysregulate like this. I want to say dysregulated, but I don't want people to think it's like a bad thing that I feel it. But like, since, since taking a break from working with you, just cause, like my schedules it wasn't really allowing it, um, it's easy to like not focus on the goal. Like every week we would show up and like do, like set an intention, have a practice and then like set like that would set the tone for the rest of the week. But now that that practice isn't there, I'm kind of like, okay, what's next? Okay, what's next? Okay, what's next? Where I don't, like, I'm kind of doing things like to get things done and not don't, not always seeing that next vision. Yeah, I'll probably be coming back real soon. Yeah, it shows how much I love the practice absolutely.
Rachel:And you know, I think there's also something to be said for like a space of integration. You know, we've worked together for two years and taking like a little break and then coming back to that place like I've done that with coaches that I've worked together for two years and taking like a little break and then coming back to that place, like I've done that with coaches that I've worked with, and it's nice because you get to integrate, have your shifts, and then you get to come back and then we can, you know, let the good times roll and like keep working on other things. But I mean, I'm so inspired by everything you're up to and everything you're doing. And yeah, you know, obviously we chat. So anytime you want to hang, we'll make it work.
Jamie:I also want to say I've been inspired by you, rachel, because you know you're a business owner, right, I see your things. I see you making appointments, like to go places, you're teaching, you have private sessions, and I'm like okay, like to be in the circle where someone is doing it right, is already doing the thing that you want to do, like you're like okay, she can do it, I can do it right, like, and not like in a competitive way, but just like okay, like you know, like you're putting in the work, you're um, you're going out there, you're booking yourself, like kind of just watching and observing how you're doing it. Then just it's like okay, like I can take what she has, I can. And even just your confidence to start the podcast right was like I was like okay, like I'm always worried, like oh, what am I going to talk about? What am I going to say? Like. And then, just listening to yours, I'm like okay, like Rachel can do it, I can definitely do it. Yeah, so it's a two way street.
Rachel:Yeah, thank you so much. Yeah, and I'll I'll build on that a little bit. I think, like, if you're an entrepreneur, there is this element of you know, you don't have co-workers, you don't have a team. Maybe one day you'll have a team. You know, when you get to that point I'm not, I'm not there yet where I'm like having a team on my side or something like that.
Rachel:But so it's a really like a solo journey and that journey can be, like, you know, lonely at times. But when you are in those spaces where you're in community, where you're connecting with other people, you're friends with entrepreneurs, you're connecting with other people, you're friends with entrepreneurs, you're working with other entrepreneurs, it makes it a lot. It makes things make a lot more sense and a little bit easier because you're not alone. You know you can feed off of each other's like inspiration and ideas and brainstorming, and it just, yeah, it brings it all together. So I totally got what you're saying and yeah, and brings it all together. So I totally got what you're saying and yeah, and I appreciate you. So thank you so much for sharing you know so openly about your story and your journey and I'm so grateful, I'm so grateful for you, so thank you Me too, thank you.
Jamie:And that really brings. I think I wanted to connect that to community right, like being a solopreneur but then also doing like these practices individually by yourself. Like is one thing, but then when you come into a community you can ask people, because everybody has a different experience, everybody's at a different everybody's on like a different part or at a different pace in their journey. And so when you come into these groups, like you know everybody, some people just prefer the private, some people just prefer the groups.
Jamie:I think they work really great in combination and I always, even though I was working with you privately, I always came most of the time whenever I could make it, to like your group sessions, because you know you hear other people telling their stories and then, like I'm always like, oh, maybe it resonated like right. Then in the moment, I'm like, okay, like, let me listen to what they're saying, how they navigated it and take what I want. Or like maybe it wasn't for me in that moment, but a couple weeks later, when something happened, I'd be like, oh, I remember this person saying that. Or you even just make a connection and establish like another link in your network. But I'm always a big component of like you are, like who you surround yourself with. So I'm always trying to surround myself with like people that are wanting to take care of themselves, healing themselves, like, want to show up better, want to show up aligned yeah, absolutely.
Rachel:Yeah, the people you surround yourself with, I mean it's huge. And being able to put yourself in those spaces when you're going on, you know, a journey you never have before, something like entrepreneurship, where it's like the beginning is just like what am I doing? It's like really nice to be with other people that are, like you know, doing the same crazy thing, because you have to be a little bit crazy if you want to. You know, do your own thing and build your own world, you know.
Jamie:Yeah, well, that's being nice being in these communities, communities, having these connections.
Jamie:Like I know, when I was talking to you in sessions like I could say, because I know we became friends and like I kind of we talked about some stuff um, like being in your circle, I was like I don't, I know I can go there with her and she's not gonna judge me, but like in some other circles, I like definitely I'm like test, like sticking my toe in the water to see, like are they willing to accept this? But like in communities where, like yours, right, like I knew, people in that circle were open to it so I can talk about it or other groups. But yeah, and your community is probably one of the most I felt comfortable with, just because, I don't know, everybody just felt so open, everybody felt like they never felt judged and a lot I heard a lot of similar stories in your community of, like you know, people like with anxiety and they just want to manage it. You know they want to feel good, they want to feel ease, so so if you're looking for a community, I really liked yours.
Rachel:Oh, thank you so much. Yeah, I have like awesome people that come to come to stuff. I like love everybody that comes, it's like great, like it's uh, everybody's really incredible and and for some reason, are also like in, uh, in these spaces, like they're either. Sometimes they're either like a coach or they are their own business owner or um, so it's nice in that sense too, because everybody, when they share it, kind of does like relate. But that just happened organically. I don't have like necessarily like a niche in that area, but, um, yeah, no, I appreciate you saying that. Thank you so much.
Jamie:You're welcome Again. Thanks for having me. This was great. I love our conversations. I think that's what I miss most. I know we could stay here all day.
Rachel:We could literally record this all day, just talk about everything. Oh man, it's so good, I miss it as well.
Jamie:It's so fun, we should have an episode where we talk about our flower essence journeys because you definitely see it right, Like I would come to sessions and talk about mine and you're the one who turned me on and I'm kind of like addicted to them. Now I'm like, ooh, what do I want to cook up this month? Or ooh, what do I want to cook up this season?
Rachel:Yeah, you know, we absolutely could. I mean, I love flower essence, obviously, but I love it because it's like it gives you like enough amount of time. You know, one month isn't super long, but it's not like super short either. It allows you to like set a nice intention. You can change it, so like you could do one thing one month, the next month it could be different, and it's so subtle and gentle, I feel like that. It's like it's manageable.
Rachel:It's not like, you know, you're not like jolting into this like other thing, like it's really gentle on the nervous system, which I love, um but of course there's also like sometimes yeah, I was gonna say, but also I've definitely felt jolted into things depends on what's happening, because sometimes it brings to the surface right in the beginning like the exact thing that you need to release, let go of, move through, and sometimes that is so hard to do and so that can look different for everybody. I know for myself that's looked like, you know, big emotional releases, some um challenge around letting go of things and I mean there's just so much that could be there. But uh, yeah, it's, it's amazing it was an experience again.
Jamie:I came to like Rachel. I was like you're not gonna believe this flower and what this flower has put me through this week yeah, remember those I do. Yeah, that was uh not to scare anybody from doing them. There have been like plenty of good ones, but you tend to remember the stuff that seems like really, really dramatic. But I can laugh about it now because it did serve me in the best way possible.
Rachel:Yeah, well, that was a wholehearted right.
Jamie:I don't remember which one it was. There were like a bunch of them that kicked my butt.
Rachel:Yeah, so I think it was. There were like a bunch of them that kicked my butt. Yeah, so I think it was wholehearted wholehearted is. You know exactly what it sounds like. It's about the heart space, and it's also a part of the fire element, and so you're fiery. You're a fiery girl. I'm an Aries and in fire, it's a fire, and then also with the heart healing. Um, yeah, that's gonna be yeah, I think I did.
Jamie:I did no, but I think that is the one that kicked my butt, and now I actually had it like sitting here it's calling my name again, um, but I'm debating if I want to put myself through that. Yeah, yeah, yeah, do it again. No, I'm just kidding, it's all good. Yeah, but definitely, it definitely helped to have a facilitator, like even with breath work to in combination with the flower essences, just like. I think that's why my journey was so fast, like my experience was so fast. Everybody says like, oh, wow, two years, like that's so fast, while it didn't feel fast. Uh, in common like all these practices, I just think, like help you get to where you want to go, and it's up to you how fast you want to get there yeah, yeah, absolutely.
Rachel:It's a nice, uh nice supplement to the whole, to the practice, to the journey, yeah, but yeah, we can totally do another episode on just this, because we clearly have a lot to say about it.
Jamie:Yeah, I mean we could probably look back on all our sessions and just like be like, yeah, yeah, that one, uh-huh, yeah, that one, like all these, like different experiences that you know we have.
Rachel:They were really great. All right, well, thank you so much, jamie. This was so much fun. I love chatting with you always and, uh, I'll put all your information in the show notes so anyone that wants to connect with jamie check out empowered alignment.
