Speaker 1:

This past month it's been a really busy month. November has been wild, but the event Exhale and Unwind that we did at Fire and Ice, courtney and I was absolutely amazing. It was so much fun. I think that we'll do it again. So if that's something that you wanted to come to and you didn't did not get the chance. Definitely stay tuned because, like I said, I think we'll do it again, and some of the attendees shared with us. One person said I loved the breath work, the facilities and having good conversations with some awesome people. I'll definitely be back and on the lookout for future events, so that was really nice. And what is another one that I'd like to share? Someone said I loved it. I did not expect to feel the way I did after Breathwork and loved that. The event gave us space to connect with other women but also explore and relax on our own. It was the perfect mix. So super cool, fun. Definitely stay tuned for when the next time is that we host one of those events.

Speaker 1:

And I can't believe that this episode is coming out on Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving. Time is going so fast and I will be having a Black Friday sale, so it's something that I mentioned previously. I will be having a Black Friday sale, so it's something that I mentioned previously. It starts today, so the day that this episode comes out is when the sale starts, and then it will end on Sunday and everything is 60% off. So a 60-minute session will be $88. And a 90-minute session is $133. And those links close on Sunday. So if a single session has been something that you're interested in, if it's been something that you've been wanting to do, these sessions are so great. They can include meditation, breath work, somatic coaching, energy clearing. So it really depends on what you're looking for, but these sessions have been really, really nice to offer and I'm excited. So, if that's something that you're interested in, check out the show notes for those links and I hope to see you in session.

Speaker 1:

And then the other thing that I'll share with you before we dive into today's episode is we have breathwork of the month for the month of December coming up on Thursday December 12th, and then every year, I also offer an annual reflection workshop. So this is something that I've done. This might be the third or the fourth year, I'm not entirely sure, but it will be on Wednesday December 18th, and I'm not sure if that will be on Zoom or on Instagram Live or both. I usually float it and see what people are feeling, so I'm excited for that. So that's Thursday December 12th is Breathwork of the Month, and Wednesday, december 18th is the reflection workshop. So definitely keep an eye out for those, and all of those details will also be announced in the monthly newsletter, which goes out on December 1st. All right, so we are back with a solo episode. That was a fun few weeks of guests. We had Jamie, courtney, erin, and they were all great episodes. So definitely check them out if you haven't already.

Speaker 1:

And one thing that I'll also share before I go into today's episode is that I've recently watched Breath of Fire. It's a documentary about, about kundalini yoga on hbo max and, oh my goodness, it was the most wild documentary. I had no idea that kundalini yoga had that kind of background and it's basically just to summarize the history of kundalini yoga and how it came to the states, and there's a lot of um, sad stories about children and families and, uh, people being taken advantage of, basically based on their spirituality and how they found kundalini yoga, and a lot of things that seem to be untrue. So I always take those things with a grain of salt, because you never know what's true and what's not. But I will say that I have no connection to the lineage of kundalini yoga. It was really sad and I think this is also where my knowledge and background and training comes in. So my goal is to help you connect with your own inner wisdom and feel empowered on your journey of building that relationship with yourself and making that relationship a positive one, and having that experience also be fun. So that is where I stand. If you watch the documentary, definitely let me know, shoot me a DM. I'd love to hear what your thoughts are on it.

Speaker 1:

All right, so, seeing as how this episode is coming out the day before Thanksgiving and we're about to move into December and the holidays are coming right, like the holidays are here, we're about to be in this next few weeks of holiday craze and I know a lot of people can become stressed out during this time of the year. I know that personally. For myself, my year in general all of 2024 included a lot of growth, a lot of expansion, and that can be really stressful too. So people are out here navigating their lives, working hard. Some of us might be grinding, and even if you're not grinding you're not like working super hard you're most likely stressed as well. So, seeing as how we're going into what can be also a fun and joyful time lots of family, you know gifts, positivity, wonderful things it can also be a stressful time. You know gifts, positivity, wonderful things it can also be a stressful time, so I figured that I would share with you just some ways that you can continue to navigate this time, navigate the holiday season, while also supporting yourself. So the first thing that I'll share is really making time and making sure that you're making time for yourself. So make sure that you're keeping up with your practices, whatever those might be, whether that's just like general self care practices, you know, making sure that you're sleeping, eating, drinking enough water. If you have any kind of practices outside of that that you consider self care, whether that's going to the gym or getting your nails done, like whatever those just like general self-care practices might be making sure that you're staying up on those practices as much as you can. Of course, I always encourage breath work, so that's something that I think is a great practice that you can do, even if it's for five minutes in the morning. Just a quick breathwork practice if that's all you can fit in, I believe makes a huge difference. And then something too that I find has been helpful and I'll go into this a little bit is journaling, and if you're doing any kind of reflection practice, which I'll talk about, journaling would be connected with that.

Speaker 1:

The second thing that I'll also mention is saying no. So it's not possible for you to do everything. This is where we can end up becoming even resentful or burnt out, when we're constantly saying yes to everyone but, while we're saying those yeses, simultaneously saying no to ourself. So what are your boundaries, what are your limits? What would really serve you to say I'm sorry, this isn't you know, this isn't going to work for me. I can't, I can't do everything, and that's okay. So every time that we say no, we're also coming into greater alignment with what's a yes. So even outside of the holidays, just in general, when we say no, it can be a really empowering and helpful practice instead of constantly saying yes.

Speaker 1:

And then the third thing that I'll mention is, if it is possible, for you, try to keep your schedule a little bit lighter. So for me, this meant being really light with what events I'm offering in December and also what events I'm attending. So for you, that could look like maybe it's holiday parties, maybe it's, you know, just like different seasonal events that can get. It can all become a little bit overwhelming if you jam your calendar too much. So be mindful of your calendar. Like, where are you scheduling in that time for yourself, where are you able to say no? And in those practices, where, also, can you be mindful of what you're saying yes to and what's on your calendar? And the fourth thing that I'll mention is really making time to allow yourself to reflect on the year that you've had. So, on the year of 2024, are you able to make time for yourself to reflect on the year that you've had? So, on the year of 2024, are you able to make time for yourself to reflect?

Speaker 1:

And reflection can be so helpful because it allows you to really celebrate yourself. Sometimes, when we're on autopilot or we're just like very focused, we can miss all of the things that we've already accomplished, or all the things that we've already done that are like pretty incredible. So it gives you a chance to celebrate yourself. It allows you to see, maybe, what you've learned. So maybe this was a year of a lot of change or a lot of making new decisions or new ways of being, or even just like educational things. Maybe you've actually, like learned something in a class or a course or something like that. So it allows you to see what you've learned. It also allows you to practice gratitude, so to be thankful and really have a zoomed out bird's eye view on what you've been doing, what your year has really been like, and this can help you to strengthen your goals, and it can also help you to set intentions.

Speaker 1:

So I'll most likely talk more about reflecting potentially in the next episode. I don't know what that episode will be like. Well, I don't know what that episode will be, but I won't, so I won't elaborate on it too much now. But one question that I've think has been helpful too and is something to think about is like what is your personal definition of success? So what does success look like to you? What does it feel like in your body? How do you know when you're successful? And this can be really helpful in also creating your year ahead in 2025. So setting an intention or just really calling in, like what you've reflected on and what you've learned and what you might want to call in moving forward.

Speaker 1:

And then, lastly, there are a few energetic practices that I find helpful as well. So the first is calling your energy back to yourself. So during this time of year or really all year round, depending on the season of life that we're in a lot of our energy can be going outwards. It could be focused on other things, other people, very outward energy, and so sitting down and really allowing your energy to come back to yourself and you do that, you know, on your demand that's something that you're capable of that will allow you to feel more empowered and more whole.

Speaker 1:

The second is noticing the boundary of where your personal energy starts and where it ends. So this could look like visualizing your aura, your physical energetic boundary around your body. This could look like adding texture to it, adding color, like. What does it look like when you notice you are a boundary of where your energy starts and ends? And this is also helpful to build on that first practice that I just mentioned of calling your energy back to yourself. So this will help you to feel really in your present moment and also just like in your body. You can also ground and connect with the earth and allow that to also support you in being in your body and feeling connected to the present moment.

Speaker 1:

So a combination of those three practices, those energetic practices, can be really helpful for being in the moment, being present, being in your body, feeling safe, and it's a practice, too that you can do anywhere, right?

Speaker 1:

So this is something that like if you're literally during the holidays and you need to take a break, you need to take a breather, whether that looks like going for a walk or taking a break in like a room or something like that, like whatever you need to do in the moment, this is also a practice that can support you. So calling your energy back to yourself, noticing your boundary, your own energetic boundary of where your energy starts and ends, and grounding and connecting with the earth and feeling that support of being in your own body. All right, so quick recap of the things that were mentioned to support you in moving through the holidays. The first is making sure that you make time for yourself, whatever that looks like, for your personal self-care practices, making time for breathwork, for journaling. The second was saying no, you can't say yes to everything. The third is, if it's possible for you, if it allows in your life and in your schedule, to keep your schedule a little bit lighter and be mindful of your calendar. The fourth was allowing yourself the time and space to reflect on 2024 and allowing yourself to really celebrate yourself for everything that you've done this year so far. And then the fifth was the energetic practices. So calling your energy back to yourself, noticing your boundary of where your energy starts and ends, and grounding and connecting with the earth and feeling that support of being in your body. All right, so that is everything for today's episode. It feels good to be back with a solo episode and I hope that I'll see you in session for the Black Friday sale and, if not, maybe I'll see you in a class soon.
