Welcome back to the podcast. If you are new here, I'm Rae. I'm a somatic coach and breathwork facilitator, and if you aren't new here, welcome back. I'm so glad that you're tuning in for today's episode. So this episode is being released on Wednesday morning, which is Christmas. So if you celebrate Christmas, merry Christmas. I hope that you're having an incredible day. I hope you're enjoying time with your family, and I hope that you also have a chance to pause and be present with you know the abundance and love that might be in your life on this day, and I can also share from my personal experience that sometimes the holidays can be pretty challenging, and for a variety of reasons. For myself, this is around the time of year that I lost my dad, so sometimes this time of year comes with waves of grief, and I had a friend tell me when this happened that, although obviously it was horrible, that I could still remember him and still celebrate him during this time of year, celebrate him during this time of year, and I just feel it so deeply during the holidays and also during the new year, I think probably because they're so close together. But for anyone, you might be feeling the whole wide range of emotions. You might be feeling happiness and joy and gratitude, and then also grief and sadness and even possibly some stress. So holiday stress can definitely impact our nervous system. There might be some tight schedules, different, you know family dynamics that are at play and potentially even some financial pressure. So breathwork, of course, can be really helpful for allowing yourself the chance to pause, allowing yourself to disconnect from any stress that you might be feeling and hopefully find some energy that feels safe for you again. So today, for our episode today. I put together a breathwork practice that I'll share with you in a moment here, and I really just want this to be an opportunity for you to pause, find your footing ground and also feel present. So, wherever you are on your journey with the holidays, I hope that you find this supportive for you. So, wherever you are on your journey with the holidays, I hope that you find this supportive for you. And before I share this breathwork meditation that I recorded, I'll also share that.

Speaker 1:

The upcoming vision board workshop. So this is something that I host every year in January. This year, I'm hosting two. One will be virtual and one will be in person. One will be virtual and one will be in person. So the virtual vision board workshop will be on Thursday, january 16th, at 7 o'clock pm.

Speaker 1:

And what you can expect from this workshop? It is a mixture of meditation and breath work, journaling and then creating your vision board. And your vision board can be something on a physical kind of like a what is that? Like a bulletin board sized thing. It could be on a poster board. It can even be in a journal. So that's something that I did last year. You can also create your vision board online, like on Canva or Pinterest. So there's a lot of different ways that you could do it. But because it's virtual, you will be gathering your materials that you want to create on your own, and it's a really nice workshop.

Speaker 1:

I love hosting it.

Speaker 1:

I do it every year. It's a great follow-up from the annual reflection workshop. So if that's something that you attended live amazing and if you wanted to catch the replay, you can still do that. I'm leaving the link up until the end of the year and then at the end of the year I will add it to the masterclass bundle. If that's something that you also want to check out, all that information will be in the show notes. And then if you are looking to attend the in-person workshop in the Long Island area, that will be the specific date is TBD. It's either going to be on January 10th or the 31st, I'm not sure yet, but I'll have more information for you in the monthly newsletter. So definitely sign up for that if you want to know first. That goes out on January 1st and that will be at Fire and Ice in Wanta. So I'm excited for both of these workshops, the virtual one and the in-person one. All the information I'll put in the show notes one. All the information I'll put in the show notes TBD on the in-person information, but the link for the virtual one is open and as a podcast listener, you always save 30% on the virtual workshop of the month, so that is in the show notes as well. All right, so I think those are all my updates for you and I hope that you have an incredible new year. I hope you just are enjoying the holidays and I hope you find this breathwork session to be supportive for you and I will talk to you soon. Welcome back to the studio For today's practice.

Speaker 1:

We're going to be doing breath work for holiday stress relief and this is a great practice for you to really clear your energy and ground and really feel connected to yourself and knowing that all is well, I am grounded, I am centered and I am safe, and the breath pattern that we'll be doing today is the bliss breath.

Speaker 1:

So that is all through the nose and that sounds like this.

Speaker 1:

We'll do that for a few minutes and then we'll move right into the halo active, which is inhaling deeply through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. So I hope that you enjoy this practice and let's dive in, beginning to find yourself in a comfortable position, whether that's seated in a chair or on the couch or on the bed bed and allowing your energy to settle here by bringing your awareness to the surface underneath you, supporting you, so really feeling the structure underneath you, maybe taking a deep exhale, exhale, feeling your body being supported and getting even just a notch bit heavier, allowing yourself this time and space to separate from the busyness or the noise going on around you, and working with the mantra for our practice today all is well, I am grounded, centered and safe. And when you feel ready, beginning with the first round of the bliss breath, and that is all through the nose, at your pace, continuing that breath at your pace, the and, as you are continuing this breath, really feeling your energy coming back into your body.

Speaker 1:

So if there was any focus that was outwards or any particular anxiousness or stress that's been going on from the holidays, really allowing this breath to feel supportive and resourcing for you, the I am grounded, I am centered and I am safe and, when you feel ready, transitioning into that halo active breath, so taking a deep inhale through your nose and a deep exhale through your mouth at your pace.

Speaker 2:

And continuing that breath. You can make sound on that exhale, relieving stress and anxiety, letting out a big sigh if that feels good for you. The power of the divine power is the power of the divine power.

Speaker 1:

So and when you feel ready, gently beginning to release this active breath, allowing your awareness and your energy to settle even just a little bit more, maybe noticing what has shifted, if there's a specific sensation in the body, a sense of calmness, a sense of presence, and allowing yourself to lean into this feeling.

Speaker 1:

I am grounded, I am centered and I am safe, placing your hands on your heart, letting your body stretch and move, maybe shake or roll out the shoulders, and coming back into the space when you feel ready.
