Welcome back to the podcast. If you are new here, I'm Rae. I'm a somatic coach and breathwork facilitator, and if you aren't new here, welcome back. I'm so glad that you're tuning in for today's episode, so this is our first episode of 2025.
Speaker 1:Happy New Year. I hope that you enjoyed the holidays. I hope that you, if you were off, I hope that you had a nice break and I hope you enjoyed the new year, whether it was with friends or family or whatever you ended up doing. I hope that you had fun. For myself, I got pretty sick over the past two weeks and then I ended up staying in with my husband for New Year's Eve because I still wasn't feeling well and then water came in through our basement. So it was a pretty eventful beginning of the year, I will say. So I hope that yours was a little bit better than mine, but that's okay, we're going to keep it. We're going to keep it rolling. We're going to keep the good times rolling. So some event updates before we dive into today's episode.
Speaker 1:The breathwear class of the month is going to be the vision board workshop, and that is on Thursday, january 16, at 7pm Eastern, and that's held virtually right on zoom. There is a discount discount code for that in the show notes for any podcast listeners. I believe it saves you 30%. So yeah, so that's going to be a vision board workshop. So what that looks like is we will start with some meditation and breath work, we'll be doing some visualization, some journaling prompts, and then we'll move into the vision board portion. So you can create your own vision board on, like a cork board, you can create it on a piece of poster board or oak tag, or you can even create it in a journal. I've done that before. Last year I did that and if you don't have access to any materials like that, you can also create a virtual vision board. So that can be done on Canva or even on Pinterest. So it's a super fun workshop. I love doing it every year.
Speaker 1:It's a great time of year to do it, just as we're starting a new year. It's really nice to check in with your intentions and what you're looking to call in for your year ahead. Speaker 1:And that leads us right into today's episode. We're going to be talking about manifestation. So, wherever you are with easing into the new year for myself I feel like the new year isn't really here until like the end of the month, like the end of January I'm like, oh yeah, it's 2025. Wherever you are, it's just a fun time to check in with what you're looking to manifest. So you can always revisit this episode when you're looking to call something into your life, whether it's right now or if it's, you know, later on in the year maybe you're just feeling the urge to kind of reconnect with your vision. So we're going to be talking about manifestation as a whole, some practices, and also debunking some myths that don't necessarily align with what we're told and what we're conditioned to believe about manifestation. All right, so, when it comes to manifestation, the first thing that I think is important is really just getting clear on what it is that you want, so what it is that you desire, what it is that you're looking to manifest, and you can do this through visualization meditations, you can do this through breathwork, through conversations with friends, just being in expanding conversation spaces, through daydreaming, journaling, so really anytime, something like pings your system and you're like oh, like that would be pretty cool, that would be pretty awesome, like writing it down and taking a mental note and using that as information to help you get clear around what your intention might be or what you're looking to manifest, or call in Three questions that I think are also really helpful in this area.
Speaker 1:The first is how do you want to feel so? How do you want to feel every day, or how do you want to feel in your manifestation? How do you want to feel this year 2025? How are you hoping to feel every day, or how do you want to feel in your manifestation? How do you want to feel this year 2025? How are you hoping to feel? The second is what needs do you want to meet? So, are you looking to feel creative? Are you looking to feel freedom? Are you looking to feel safe? What needs are you wanting to meet and what needs would feel really good to have met? And the third what brings you the most joy? So, what really helps you to feel so lit up about life, so lit up about what's going on in the world, in your world? What brings you the most joy, the most excitement, helps you to feel just so alive, like really, really lit up about life? What brings you the absolute most joy? And then, once you've had the chance to get clear on what you want, now you have clarity. Maybe you've answered these three questions.
Speaker 1:Write down exactly what it is that you're wanting to manifest. So write it down, whether it's a short paragraph or it's one sentence, or it's just kind of like a statement. You can put it even, you know, just in your desk drawer, like it doesn't need to be something that you look at every day. It can be if that's the way that, like you like to manifest, looking at something every day. But this is something that we'll talk about in a few minutes. But what's really nice to do is set the intention and then kind of like forget about it, like take your hands off the wheel. Like you've done the. You found the clarity, you've answered the questions, you know what you want to manifest and now you're kind of like letting it go and letting things support you in getting there, and not necessarily like holding on super tight.
Speaker 1:So another practice that is helpful for elaborating on these questions is really getting clear with your vision is by writing a letter to your future self from present day. So that would look and sound like it's January 1st 2026, and it all worked out. So you're like writing a letter in the future, but you're writing it today and it's from your present self, as if it already happened. And in the letter you want to include how you really want to feel in your body about the vision, about the manifestation. So what does it feel like to you? What does it look like? Add as much texture and detail and insight as you can, and you can talk about all different areas of life. You know. You can talk about your personal life, you can talk about business, you can talk about career. You could talk about hobbies and art and creativity and adventure, travel, friends, family, how you feel physically in your body, what your health is like like. There's really nothing that's off limits.
Speaker 1:Even just writing this letter in itself, I think, is very powerful and, if you wanted to, you could even either record yourself reading the letter or like on a voice note, or you can even create a video of yourself reading the letter. So I actually have one of those I should look at it from like years ago. I think it was like maybe in 2020 when I first started this coaching stuff. Maybe it was 2021. I don't know, but it's from a long time ago. It would be pretty cool to watch it. So, yeah, so after you come up with the vision, you write this letter. You can record the letter on a voice note or a video, and then you have that and it also just kind of like solidifies your manifestation, which is pretty cool.
Speaker 1:And as you're working with your vision, if you are feeling like you have some sort of block, something that might be like holding you back from your manifestation, or this is never going to happen for me, or even if you just want more clarity in general, like if you're like I know some things but I'd really like to know a little bit more. I want to add more texture to my vision. Something that's really helpful for that is visualizations, and meditations can be really helpful for this. These are like guided practices that walk you through, piecing that vision together and adding that texture yourself, and it's pretty cool like the different things that can come through when you do one of these like visualization meditations like it, some of it can be like pretty surprising. So visualization meditations are really awesome.
Speaker 1:I created a short one, actually on YouTube for the practice of the month for January, so you can check that out. I'll put that in the show notes as well, and it's like a short visualization practice. It also starts with breathwork, and breathwork can also be really helpful. If anything, breathwork will really help you to quiet the mind. So sometimes, when we approach what we want to manifest or visualize, we can be really cognitive about it, but the breathwork will allow you to quiet the mind, let the mind rest and really let your body and your heart and your intuition come online. So the practice that I put up on YouTube starts with some breath work and then it leads you into a short meditation at the end, which is nice. And the third tool that I also find supportive is sound healing. So if there's any kind of like energy blocks in your system, anything that might need to be released, sound will be able to move through your body with vibration and balance out your energy, and that's really helpful for clearing blocks as well.
Speaker 1:And then the last one that I'll add that's helpful for clearing, of course, is any kind of somatic practices. So really working with the body, working with the stuck energy, sending that energy, breath, spaciousness, awareness, really seeing what's there for you and seeing what that space in your body might need. So all different somatic practices that you can do, pretty personalized to what might be coming up for you, but I would just say overall, like working with the body, working with the sensation and seeing what's there for you so that you can move through it, and then a few things that I think people forget about. So, like you have your clarity, you have your manifestation, like you know what you're calling in. I feel like the one step that people forget about is that you do need to take action.
Speaker 1:I know that there are, even for me personally, so many like people or coaches or like practitioners that I've learned manifestation from or like read books about manifestation, and the one thing that I think is missed is that you do need to take action. It's like if you go and you sit and you do your visualization and you write your letter, but then like you don't do anything, even if it's like one small thing, like if you want a new job, maybe it's like updating your LinkedIn and like putting in a few job applications, but like and if you don't take action, then like it's not. There's no like momentum, like we need to like start the momentum, we need to be taking action. It doesn't need to be like manically. We don't need to like manically manifest. That also doesn't feel great, but we do need to take action in order to call in. What we're looking to call in, it's not just going to kind of happen magically. Looking to call in it's not just going to kind of happen magically.
Speaker 1:So, balancing manic manifestation and taking action in a way that feels good for you and will allow that manifestation to come through so that you can really receive it, and then the last two things that I'll mention. So this is something that I've talked about in the past. But even if you are not feeling your best you are not feeling 100%. Maybe things are going on in your life like you're not feeling your best. That does not mean that you are not manifesting. That does not mean that you still or that you can't manifest or something like that. You are able to feel the whole human experience, all human emotion. It doesn't make anything bad or wrong or unattainable. You do not need to be high vibe at all times it's unrealistic in order for you to receive the things that you want to receive and call in what you want to call it. It's okay for you to be feeling all different types of things. It's okay for you to be feeling all different types of things, and so, yeah, you don't need to be feeling your best and you can manifest what you're hoping to manifest, even if you're working through things that are challenging.
Speaker 1:And the last thing I mentioned it a few minutes earlier is you've done all the work. You have clarity on your intention. Maybe you've moved through some blocks around it. Maybe you've done all the work. You have clarity on your intention, maybe you've moved through some blocks around it, maybe you've done some practices, maybe you've just like wrote down your statement and now we want to set the intention and forget about it. Set it and forget it because that's when we move into that manic manifestation or we go and we are taking all these different actions to kind of try and like manipulate the thing that we want. But the idea is like we set the intention, we then surrender it, we let it go and we forget about it. And yes, of course we wanna take like little actions and all of that. But we wanna find that balance of not necessarily doing manic manifestation, not necessarily taking no action whatsoever, like being kind of like frozen. We want to find that balance and then we want to release it and surrender and let our intention go.
Speaker 1:All right, I could speak about manifestation literally forever. It's such like a fun topic to talk about and I would love to hear if you are, you know, manifesting something whenever you're listening to this episode, whether it's, you know, in January or maybe you're feeling it more in like June, like whenever it is. There's no rules. Uh, yeah, I'd love to hear what you're looking to call in. I'd love to support you in that area and just I hope that all of these practices are supportive for you. If you write your letter, I hope you have fun doing it. You can make it like a little practice and set the mood. Light a candle, have some cacao yeah, have fun with it.
