Welcome back to the podcast. If you are new here, I'm Rae. I'm a somatic coach and breathwork facilitator, and if you aren't new here, welcome back. I am so glad that you are tuning in for today's episode. So for today's episode, I'm just going to dive right into it. If you saw the title of the episode, you probably already know what my special announcement for today's podcast is. So I am so excited to share with you that this upcoming fall season so in October of this year I'll be hosting my only retreat for this year, so it's called a Return to Soul Retreat, and this is something that I've been wanting to host for a really long time and I can't believe that it's finally here. So I'm so, so, so excited. So I personally find so much value from retreats I've been on so many of them myself. I definitely don't think that they're required by any means to have like a big transformation or a breakthrough, but I do think that they are the most fun way to do it. They're just super fun.
Speaker 1:My first, I would say, like retreat-like experience was in 2016, when I went to Wanderlust, and this was a yoga festival, and the way that the yoga festival was set up was you had kind of like a schedule of classes, like so many classes, like hundreds of classes, and throughout the day you could sign up for different workshops, and they were all different. You know yoga, sound healing, breath work, art, like everything and anything that you could think of. They had it at this festival, and this is exactly where I discovered breath work. So, in 2016, this was kind of like the catalyst moment that brought me into, you know, all these other areas that I'm passionate about. It's how I discovered somatic coaching, somatic therapy, everything. So all at this yoga festival in 2016.
Speaker 1:And then fast forward over the years. There are, you know, I went to a yoga festival every summer for a very long time Over the years. There are, you know, I went to a yoga festival every summer for a very long time, and over the years, I also went to quite a few different retreats. One that I've mentioned on the podcast previously was in November I think it was November 2023. I went on a business retreat it was literally called Biz Retreat in Sedona, arizona, and it was super fun. It was like I think there was maybe like eight women there and it was. I was there for like three days and still from the to this day, I still talk with some of the people from that retreat and it's just like it was a really fun way for me to take a look at my business, for me to get clarity on my business goals, to figure out what was working, what wasn't working. And from that retreat I changed a lot. There was a really big like shedding and release for me. That happened at that retreat and it kind of gives me like a point of reference that I can like look back at and be like, oh yeah, these are the things that were coming up for me in my life at that time.
Speaker 1:And then even another one, also recently, that I've shared about on the podcast was this past October, october 2024, I went to a advanced breathwork facilitator training in California and this was a weekend long training, so it wasn't necessarily a retreat, but it was similar in that sense and I got so much from that retreat Same thing. I received so many shifts, I received so much insight into my personal journey, into my business, into my life, my choices, and I came back from that retreat having one of the, I would say, the biggest breakthroughs of 2024 for me of really just feeling like I, to kind of break through this new layer of my self-expression, and also breakthroughs around people-pleasing so unexpected. I went to it for breathwork facilitator training, for an advanced training, but I walked away with so much more. And then also next week so I'm recording this episode now, but in two weeks I will be going to California for a different advanced facilitator training for breathwork, which I am so excited about. I have been planning this trip for nearly two years. I planned and canceled it multiple times and now is the right time, so in the right timing, it all works out. But, um, I'm excited that I get to go next week.
Speaker 1:I have no idea what I'm going to walk away with, but I'm sure I'll share some of it with you and, uh, yeah, this, some of these reasons, some of these like takeaways that I've received just from taking time for myself to step away from the day-to-day life and see what is present for me, is exactly what I want to bring for six incredible women that are looking to come together to breathe, to do breath work, to release and let go, be in community, be in nature. We're going to be doing some hiking, have awesome food, we have a private chef that's going to be cooking us all Ayurvedic wellness meals, and we're going to have a lot of fun together. So I'm feeling drawn to facilitate a weekend-long retreat together, and it feels very aligned for the journey that I'm on right now too. So I'm feeling like very inspired. In my business I've pivoted a bunch over the past few years. I've let go of a lot that is not serving me, and it's allowed me to come back to what's really true for me, something I've also talked about in the podcast, like my core values, my vision, what is true for me, really come back to myself, and that is why I'm passionate about a return to soul retreat. Let's come together, pause, breathe, release and come back to ourselves, to what's true for us. Okay, so clearly I'm very excited about this, which is awesome.
Speaker 1:So the retreat is going to be about two and a half hours from Long Island upstate. It's in Curhonkson, I think I'm pronouncing that correctly in New York, but it's basically in the mountain side of the Hudson River Valley. So it's in this super cute, like bohemian themed Airbnb. So it's in this super cute, like bohemian themed Airbnb. We're right outside of Minnewaska State Park, right over by Mohonk Mountain House, and I'm excited because we are going to also be going to those places on the retreat, which is really cool. So it's taking place on October 2nd to October 5th. So that's a Thursday evening, the evening of the 2nd, all day Friday the 3rd, all day Saturday, the 4th, and then you leave Sunday morning, the 5th.
Speaker 1:So it's taking a place in the fall, because it's based all around harvest season, all around metal season, according to five element theory, and in the fall season season it is all about letting go and releasing. So, just like how the the leaves on the trees all fall and all the things in nature begin to die and they all go. Their seeds go all the way back deep into the soil. That's exactly what happens to us too, like when we hibernate in the winter, we are all beneath the soil, just like nature, and in fall, that's when we are releasing and letting go and shedding, and that is so perfect for breathwork. I feel like every breathwork practice has an element of release, and that's why I chose this time of year, so that it aligns with nature. We're going to be in nature, we're going to be doing hiking, we're going to be outside, and it's why I chose this time of year, so that it aligns with nature. We're going to be in nature, we're going to be doing hiking, we're going to be outside, and it's just a beautiful time to be upstate New York.
Speaker 1:The other core theme that we're going to be working with throughout the weekend is connecting with yourself, so it's called a return to soul retreat. That's a major element of the vision of the retreat and the intention of it. It's like when you let go of all the noise of the day-to-day life, when you pause, when you disconnect so that you can connect with yourself and what you want and what you need, you will feel a sense of wholeness, you will feel a sense of being, a sense of presence, a sense of being in touch with you, and when you're coming at life from that point, from that place, you're so resilient, you feel so much more embodied and so much more safe to be in your life experience, which I think is a big part of the work that I do. So I'm excited to bring that core theme into this retreat as well. So reconnecting with yourself, which is how I landed on the name return to soul retreat.
Speaker 1:And then the other core theme that we're going to be working with is you're creating all of this space. You're reconnecting back with yourself, and then what are we making this space for? So what is your vision? What is the thing that you're reconnecting back with yourself? And then what are we making this space for? So what is your vision? What is the thing that you're calling in? Maybe for 2026? Because at that time it's going to be October 2024. I mean 2025. So it'll be like the end of this year-ish. So, looking forward, what are you calling in? What are you making that space for?
Speaker 1:And we're going to have this incredible guest facilitator joining us, for her name's Nikki. She might be on the podcast in the future as well to talk more about her work and her practice, but she's an incredible yoga facilitator and she'll be joining us one of the evenings to really work with our vision and lead us through this really restorative yoga practice yoga nidra, which is basically like sleep yoga. It's one of my favorite forms of yoga and it's so nice and you end up like walking away with feeling lighter, feeling more clear and, ideally, in the sense, with this intention of feeling connected to your vision and feeling connected to what you want to create and what's at your core values for you. So each day will have a little bit of a different theme, a little bit of a different flavor, but it's all going to come together so nicely and I'm really excited for you know, for what you're going to be able to receive from this retreat. It's going to be. It's going to be able to receive from this retreat. It's going to be so nice.
Speaker 1:So there's a bunch of different activities that we'll be doing throughout the retreat. That looks like breathwork. We'll definitely be doing some semantic breathwork workshops. We'll be doing sound healing. You'll have opportunities for journaling and creative expression and writing. We're going to be doing the yoga nidra practice, which I'm excited for. We're going to be doing hiking. So on both days, or potentially one of the two days, we will be going for hikes in the local area and there'll definitely be moments of inner child healing as well. So I'm really, really, really so excited for this.
Speaker 1:And if it is speaking to you, if it's something that you are curious about or you're even thinking like, oh, I wanna know more, I have more questions, definitely just reach out to me. You can send me an email, you can send me a DM. There is a link on the landing page, which I'll leave in the show notes, for you to book a call with me. It's like a 30 minute call. If book a call with me, it's like a 30-minute call. If that's something that you are interested in too, just it doesn't mean you have to sign up, nothing like that. But if that is something you're interested in, where you're like I need to speak with me before you book or before you're, you know, reach out to me or whatever. That's what that link is there for it, so that you can contact me and we can just have a chat, and I really created this retreat for the people that are curious, the people that are ambitious, they have big dreams.
Speaker 1:They maybe have experienced anxiety or perfectionism, people pleasing, maybe going through a big life transition and they are ready for making a change and a shift and really looking to receive something that will help them to move forward in their life really and have as much fun as possible while doing it. So I know that this retreat is going to be a huge benefit to anyone that signs up and if you are curious about it, just reach out to me. So, a little bit more about the retreat experience. I will say that you know every retreat that I've gone on has been a little bit different and I've shared a little bit about the ones that I've gone on so far, but I think this retreat in particular is going to have the healing vibes. It's going to have nature vibes. It's also going to be super fun.
Speaker 1:It's a going to be a small group, so you're going to be able to speak with everyone there. It's going to be seven women total, including myself, so six retreat guests and you're going to have the opportunity to disconnect from day-to-day life, immerse yourself for a weekend in a beautiful community with incredible women and have a lot of fun. We're going to be hiking, like every day. So, as I'm describing the retreat, I've actually never been on a retreat like the one that I'm putting together. The retreat I've actually never been on a retreat like the one that I'm putting together. The one that I'm creating is like pretty interesting. I think it's pretty cool.
Speaker 1:So the daily structure looks like you know, wake up at your pace, have breakfast, coffee, tea. We're going to have a morning workshop, so something that I'll be leading based on the theme of that day. We'll do a group activity, which will most likely be hiking at a nearby park, and then we'll have some chill time. We'll do an evening workshop and then we'll have dinner and then we'll close with another evening activity. So for the meals, all the meals are included, and we do have this incredible Ayurvedic wellness chef. Her name's Lauren I would also love to have her on the podcast, so we'll see. Maybe she'll join us and she owns her own wellness cafe called Chakra Bowls in the Hudson River Valley area. So she's also going to be a big part of our retreat, providing us with all these like yummy, delicious meals breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks so it's going to be really nice, um, and really healthy, and we're going to feel good just eating such well, locally sourced and seasonal meals.
Speaker 1:All right, so now that you have all of the details, you are officially invited to join. There are are very limited spots. Like I mentioned, this is a small, intimate retreat. It's my first weekend long retreat, so I really want to make sure that everyone has an amazing experience and there are only five spots left. So, between sharing the retreat through some private invites, that for people that had signed up to know about it early, one of those spots was booked. So there are only five left. And if you are interested in booking a spot or even just having a conversation about it, the link with all the information is in the show notes. You can send me a message, an email, or you can book a call with me. So I am having short calls with everyone who signs up just to answer any questions and, you know, walk you through the process and this is going to be the only retreat that I'm hosting for 2025.
Speaker 1:So I am so excited about it, I'm so grateful that you're here and I can't wait to hopefully see you at the retreat. So thank you so much for tuning in for today's episode. I hope you have an incredible rest of your day, an incredible rest of your week, and I will talk to you soon. Thank you so much for tuning in to today's episode.
