Welcome And Intentions For 2026
SPEAKER_00Welcome back to the podcast. If you are new here, I'm Ray. I'm a schematic coach and breath work facilitator. And if you aren't new here, welcome back. I'm so glad that you are tuning in for today's episode. So I wanted to put this episode together because I feel like there are so many different ways that you can plan for a new year ahead, plan for a chapter that's closing. And so I wanted to put together a little list of different activities that you could do. You can pick one, you can do all of them, but they're all, you know, fun ways to plan and create your 2026 with intention. So let's dive in. So the first tool that I have for you is a vision board. And this is something that you can create online. You can do this on Pinterest, you can do this in Canva, you can do this using like Googling images and pictures and words and quotes. So you can create like a visual representation of what you want your 2026 to look like, creating like an online mood board. You can also do this in person. So you can get magazines, stickers, uh, different things that you can cut up and create the same visual representation of what you want your year to look like, what you're looking to call in or manifest. Um, and you can think of it in all different categories. So thinking about your health, wealth, relationships, your own personal development, things you want to learn or embody, anything really and everything can go on this vision board. And it's really, really fun. It's so cool to see when the, you know, when the whole thing is done, like what it looks like. It's such like a fun representation of what you're looking to create. And one thing I think that people miss sometimes, because it is pictures and quotes and words, is that we're not incorporating how we want to feel when we attain those things. So you can, you know, set this really big goal of around, let's just say like health and fitness. But if you're not feeling your best on that journey, then, you know, it's not really gonna feel great. So also choosing pictures and images and words that represent how you want to feel while you're attaining all of those incredible, you know, goals and visions that you're setting. And you can do this process, creating a vision board. You can do it solo, you can put on some music and you can, you know, get all your supplies together and just create the time and space for yourself with an intention. You can get your friends together, so you can like invite everybody over or go to somebody's house and do it all together, which is also really fun. And you can also go to a workshop or like in a community space, someone that is like facilitating an experience. So I've done all three of them and they're all beautiful in their own way. They're not really, there's no really like wrong way to do it. It's just like choosing, you know, choosing the one that feels best for you. Vision boarding is also a workshop that I provide. So if you're looking for a facilitated experience for like a group of people or your friends or your workspace, you know, whatever it might be, I do facilitate this process. So you can always reach out to me and I put together and curate custom workshops based on what people are looking for. The second fun activity that I want to share with you is great to revisit around this time of year, but you can also do it, you know, anytime. Same with the vision boarding, you can do that any time of year, but it's just fun to do it around this time of year because it is a fresh new year. And so the second activity I want to share with you is connecting and gaining clarity on your core values. And so your core values are the beliefs that will guide your behaviors and your decision making. And they can represent what really is most important to you in this season of your life. So they can change over time, and you know, different during during different phases of life, they might be different. Uh, but these are really important to know because they allow you to make decisions from a grounded place, from a place that's really aligned with what's important to you at the core and grounded in who you are. So they're really helpful for self-knowledge, for building that self-trust. And in doing that, building your self-confidence. And it's also really fun just to know what they are, and then also to know what your friends are. Friends' core values are too. So it's really cool to see like where you're really aligned with the people in your life in just like so many different ways. Because everybody's core values are gonna be different, they're gonna look different, sound different, mean different things. Uh, but usually when you, you know, your core group of people, you do have a little bit of overlap around what's important to both of you and what you both believe in. And so that's really cool, just to see what resonates. And so there's a few different ways that you can do this. Um, I also lead people and groups through different core value practices. I do uh one-on-one sessions and then also group workshops. But if you wanted to do this at home right now, you could absolutely do that too. So, what I would start with is making that intentional space, making the time and space for it, whether it's on your calendar or like just shutting off the phone and closing a door, you know, whatever you need to do to really get present. Um, I would definitely suggest doing some meditation or breath work to drop into the moment, get even more present, really feel like you can be, you're in a safe place. And I would have your journal nearby as well. Uh, and so I would suggest that you Google a list of core values and find a list that you like. There are gonna be so many different ones, and there's gonna be so many words to pick from. So just maybe don't spend too much time on this, but just like find a list that you like. And then you're going to circle all of the ones that just stand out to you initially. So maybe there's like a list of a hundred and you choose like 20 that stand out to you. And then from the ones that you've circled and that have stood out to you, you're gonna narrow it down to your top 10. And you're gonna write a definition for each one of those words. And then from there, you're gonna narrow it down again to your top five, and you're gonna update those definitions. So this is just like a quick, intentional way to really gain clarity and get close to and really feel grounded in who you are and what is important to you. And this is a great practice that you can do independently. And like I mentioned, I also offer this as a guided practice, and it includes breath work, meditation, music, guided journaling prompts, a core values practice, time for integration and reflection. So you really walk away with an embodied sense of what your top five to ten core values are and what resonates the most with you based on what your unique life vision is. And then the next fun practice that I have for you is doing some guided journaling prompts. I think journaling and really getting pen to the page is so powerful. It's so uh incredible to see like what will come through in that way, whether you're used to expressing that way or you're not used to expressing yourself that way. Either way, journaling I think is just a really great tool to have in your toolkit. And around something like this, around like a clear intention of envisioning your 2026 or of, you know, visiting, revisiting what didn't work last year and creating what you want to work this year, you know, things like that, you can very easily do guided journaling prompts for this intention. And I know that that can be really helpful sometimes when it's like we hear like, oh yeah, journaling is great for you, but we don't know like where to start or what to do. It's nice to have a bit of structure, whether that is actual prompts or jump off lines or whatever that, whatever that is. So I did put together an episode, episode 110, that has four journaling prompts. So you can listen to that episode, and there are four guided journaling prompts in there, and that will help you get clear on what you want to create in 2026. And if you want to use a different prompt or you want one, you know, right now, live while we're listening to this episode, um, you can use this open-ended prompt, and it goes like this it's January 1st, 2027, and it all worked out. Dot dot dot. And so what you're doing here is you're writing a letter from your future self to your current self about all the things that already worked out this year. So an example might be it's January 1st, 2027, and it all worked out. I absolutely am loving my job. I've done incredible work, my health feels so great, you know, blah, blah, blah, whatever it is. So just an example. But that is another prompt that you can use. That's a really fun one for creating what you're looking to create this year. And the next fun activity that you could do is around setting your goals. So this is something that I think builds nicely off of the episode that I just shared, episode 110. Um, but you can go to a workshop for goal setting. There are a lot of different podcasts that have, you know, goal setting specific things. You can look online for some structure, like a guided activity. Um, but yeah, really being intentional and compassionate with these. I don't dive too much into goal setting. Um, you know, if you're like me or you've ever struggled with like perfectionism or rigid thinking, it can be, it can get tricky to set goals because sometimes it they're like you lose that flexibility or like the fun of it. So yeah, I just don't usually go the goal setting route, but that's not to say that you can't go the goal setting route. So I would say, you know, if this is exciting for you, if it's fun for you, um, I still definitely do set goals for the year. I just keep them nice and fluid, you know, nothing too crazy. So just being uh intentional and compassionate with yourself throughout the process and having fun with it. And then the last fun activity that I'll share with you is going to a workshop. So, like I mentioned throughout this episode, there are so many fun things that you can do in community with a group of people. So many people are offering like just incredible things. And I'm sure that you can find something in your neighborhood that like really resonates with what you're looking for. And they're also around like so many different niches. I'm seeing like like our local library is hosting like a reading challenge, and one of the local yoga studios is hosting a yoga challenge, and then there's also a few different vision board workshops around, and um, astrology readings are happening. So there's just like a lot of really cool, fun, different offerings that pop up around this time of year. And yeah, maybe hop into community, be virtual or in person with people, find one that resonates with you, and have fun with it. So, quick recap of the all all the different activities that I shared. The first is creating a vision board. Second was connecting with your core values. The third was doing some guided journaling prompts, and you can visit um episode 110 if you'd like some more structured journaling prompts for the new year. The fifth, or no, the fourth, I think the fourth, yeah. The fourth was goal setting. And then the fifth was going to a workshop in your community. So thank you so much for tuning in to this episode of the podcast. I love recording these. I had so much fun with this one. And yeah, if you want to stay connected, you can check out the show notes for access to the breathwork meditation library. It's about like 15 to 20 breathwork meditations, and I add to it throughout the year. And yeah, I hope you have an incredible rest of your day, an incredible rest of your week, and I will talk to you soon.
