The Hearts Hello

The Divine Art of Reestablishing

Keona T. Ellerbe Season 3 Episode 8

What if that unexpected pause in your life wasn't a detour but a divine redirection? After experiencing a 365-day hiatus following a layoff, I've discovered something transformative about the sacred work of reestablishing—it's not about erasing what happened, but returning to who you truly are.

The first day of autumn brings with it a powerful invitation. It's time to stop settling for relevance and start reclaiming our rootedness. Throughout this journey, I've come to understand that a career can pay well without fulfilling your calling, that comfort often masquerades as contentment while keeping you stagnant. True reestablishment happens through three powerful movements: reconnecting with your authentic self, rebuilding foundations on truth rather than trauma, and reclaiming your God-given rhythm without apology.

This transformative work doesn't require overhauling your entire existence overnight. It begins with five simple yet profound practices: auditing your agreements to distinguish between alignment and obligation, creating a brief daily ritual that reconnects you to yourself, reaching out to someone who makes you feel safe or stretched, making one purpose-over-performance move each week, and journaling about what you're reestablishing daily. With only three months left in the year, don't postpone your transformation until January. You can begin right now, understanding that you're not late and not lost—you're simply being reestablished. Ready to give yourself permission to return home to who you've always been? Let's walk this path together. Share your reestablishment journey with me and join our community of those brave enough to choose rootedness over relevance.

Speaker 1:

So, before we begin, let's take a breath together, inhale and out Y'all. Today is not just a Monday, it's not just the first day of autumn, it's the first day of reestablish. And something in me knows that this moment, this exact day, is a divine alignment. I don't know what you've been carrying, I don't know what you've been running from, but I do know that God will give you a front row seat to the rebirth of you if you're willing to reestablish. So here's my invitation to you. I need you to get one thing clear Reestablishing is not about pretending that the last chapter didn't happen because y'all, let me tell you something it did.

Speaker 1:

It's not about wiping the slate clean like none of it mattered. Reestablishing is about returning. It's the holy work of remembering who you were before the world convinced you to shrink, before disappointment made you play safe, before the titles and trauma tried to put limits on your name. See, for me, today is not just the first day of going back to work after more than 365 days. How many people can actually say that and have this level of peace in their spirit? See, today for me is about understanding who I am. See, for those heart seekers who have been following this journey, know that I spent the last year, more than 365 days, more than a year, navigating an unexpected pause after being laid off. But what looked like a setback became my setup, because I didn't just get time off, I got time in. I got time in alignment, time in purpose, time in process, and what I discovered was this your career can be a good job and still not be your God assignment. Your role can pay you well and still not call you deeply.

Speaker 1:

See, this season, this season right here, this reestablished season, is where we stop settling for relevance and start reclaiming our rootedness. You heard me it's time to go deep, it's time to anchor in, it's time to get to a place where we know who we are, who we are called to be, and move in that. See, in this season, we are going to operate like Jeremiah 17 and 8. Yeah, you know I give you homework and you know I'm not going to tell you what the scripture says, so I'm going to need you to go and read it. But what I will say is this that we are not wandering, that we are not guessing, that we are planted, rooted and reestablished. And let's break down what this reestablished is so that we connect it to our rebuild.

Speaker 1:

And as we begin to reclaim Number one again, we are going to reconnect Number one again. We are going to reconnect. We're reconnecting with ourselves, not who people may remember, but who we have become. We are reconnecting with God, not the version of him that fits in our comfort zone, but the one who is calling you higher. See, we're not just going to reconnect with the vision, that one that may have been shelved because you got tired or got scared. Now we're going to pick that back up because, as we reconnect, we end up hitting number two, which is to rebuild.

Speaker 1:

So not everything needs to be picked back up again. Some things, y'all you just won't have to leave there, and it's okay. Some things need a whole new foundation, one built on truth and not trauma. And in this season we're going to stop patching holes and build brand new wings. You hear me? Sometimes you're going to have to jump in and build your wings on the way down.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes you're going to have to get out of that comfort zone that has gotten you to a place where you think that everything is just cool and everything is just complacent, and you are. Nothing is being turned upside down, and that's cool, but I would ask you when was the last time that you've actually grown? When was the last time that you've had conversations with individuals that you got off the phone and realized that you needed to level up? See, in this season, being around the same people, especially if your conversations have not changed from last year to this year, that's a problem, and if they're not congruent with the goals that you have and the things that you want to do. I'm not saying that you have to cut people off, but you're going to have to learn to get in the right environment. The right environment where they are talking about goals and dreams. The right environment where they are talking about growth. The right environment where they are talking about wealth and money. The right environment where they are talking about growth. The right environment where they are talking about wealth and money. The right environment where they are talking about legacy. The right environment where they are talking about how they can be good stewards in the community and making an impact. See, the other conversations are cool every now and then, but are those conversations moving you forward to where it is that you said that you wanted to go, or are they just keeping you stuck and stagnant and comfortable in the place that you've been for year after year, and saying that you want more, desire more, need more, but you don't want to go after more.

Speaker 1:

So we are rebuilding in this season, and that takes me to number three. We are reclaiming, reclaim your name, reclaim your voice, reclaim your God-given rhythm, reclaim that you don't have to earn your way back into yourself, that you just have to come home. Okay, see, there's a reason why I go by Kiana, talena Nothing wrong with the last name, but when I decided to do some research on what exactly Kiana meant, god's gracious gift. Talena, a place where treasure is stored. So if I'm just operating and moving off of those two things, I know that I'm not put on this earth to be mediocre. So I'm reclaiming my name, I'm reclaiming my voice and I'm reclaiming my God given rhythm.

Speaker 1:

And for those of you all who are trying to figure out, well, how do I do that? Where does the real work begin? Without all of the fluff and and trying to be cute, I need you to audit your agreements. Take 30 minutes today, yes, today. I don't care what time it is that you are listening to my voice. Grab a pen. I didn't say go to your note section in your phone. I said grab a pen, your phone. I say grab a pen, write down every yes you've said in the last month. Ask yourself, ask yourself was that a yes from alignment or obligation? Did I say yes because I wanted to or because I didn't know how to say no? See, I now need you to circle the ones that felt real heavy. Revoke those agreements this week.

Speaker 1:

That's step one. Audit your agreements. Step two create a daily, non-negotiable ritual, 10 minutes max. Pick one sacred daily rhythm that reconnects you to you. If that's taking two minutes to pray at sunrise, if that's you writing either on paper or on your mirror five times, I am still worthy Before you pick your phone up, and I need you to speak your full name aloud every day and bless it. So you're not trying to fix your whole life in a day, but you are trying to reestablish a rhythm that keeps you anchored. See, in order to get something you've never had, you must do something that you've never done, and so sometimes these patterns are coming in to interrupt the patterns that you need to get rid of.

Speaker 1:

The third thing that I would like for you to do is send one alignment text. There is somebody you've been feeling led to reach out to, not for clout, not for networking, just connection. Send the text. Hey, I'm being intentional about aligning with people who make me feel safe, seen or stretched, you came to mind. Can we reconnect or connect soon? See seeds move mountains when planted with purpose. So don't delay.

Speaker 1:

Number four I need you to choose one purpose over performance move. Ask yourself what's one thing I can do this week that has nothing to do with people pleasing. It might be saying no, thank you without explaining yourself, wearing the outfit that makes you feel beautiful, not just presentable, deleting the draft that isn't in your real voice. This week is for bold inside out moves. And the fifth thing I would like for you to do is journal this one prompt every day for the next seven days, what I am reestablishing today in thought, in truth and in action. Keep it simple One truth a day, one sentence, one shift, one seed. We have work to do and now is the time. We've entered into a new season. You should feel the shift. You should want something more in this season. This year y'all has flown by. There are what? October, november, december, that's it. October, november, december, that's it, and then we're into another year, and I do not want you entering into 2026 saying the same thing that you wanted to work on in 2025.

Speaker 1:

Don't wait until the new year to decide that this is going to be my new year's resolution New me, new you, all of these different things, new year, new me, whatever the saying is. You know what it is when you can start today. See, this season will not be watered by pretending. It will only flourish through your presence, through your permission to return, through your willingness to say I'm not who I was, but I'm not lost either. I'm being reestablished. So here's to this new season, here's to truth without apology, here's to life that reflects who you really are, not just what you do. So until next time, remember that you are not late, you are not too broken, you are not too far. You're just being reestablished, and I'm right here with you.
