Top 8 Mistakes for Endo Nutrition
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In today’s episode, I dive into 8 common mistakes people make when managing endometriosis. You don’t know what you don’t know, and many of us think we’re doing our best when, in reality, some of our choices might not be serving us as well as we hope. I’ve made these mistakes myself, and today, I want to bring awareness to these pitfalls and share how to correct them.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
1. Doing an elimination diet that never ends — Why long-term elimination diets can do more harm than good and how to reintroduce foods mindfully.
2. Eating a lot of gluten-free products without checking ingredients — How gluten-free doesn’t always mean healthy and what to watch for on labels.
3. Eating carbs by themselves, even healthy carbs like fruit — The importance of pairing carbs with protein or healthy fats to stabilize blood sugar.
4. Worrying more about supplements than diet— Why a whole-food diet should be your foundation and how supplements can complement, not replace, good nutrition.
5. Believing that diet doesn’t make a difference for endometriosis — How nutrition impacts inflammation and hormone balance.
6. Believing that diet makes all the difference and is the only solution — Understanding the role of diet as part of a holistic approach to managing endometriosis.
7. Eating an overly restrictive diet — The mental and physical toll of restrictive eating and how to find balance.
8. Trying to pinpoint the one food causing all your symptoms — Why symptom management is about patterns, not perfection, and how to focus on the bigger picture.
These are 8 of the biggest nutrition mistakes when trying to manage endometriosis. It’s okay if you’ve been making some of them—awareness is the first step toward change. You don’t have to tackle everything at once. Start with one adjustment at a time, and over time, you’ll notice the difference.
