Hey guys, it's Robin. I don't know why I always say guys like that's just my go-to, even though it's mostly women that listen to this episode, with a few amazing men. So thank you guys for listening like literally guys, but I don't know. That's just what I say. So sorry if you're offended. I hope you're not. I also hope you had a great weekend and you've had a good start to your week. If you saw my Instagram reel, then you saw that I got to do an indoor zip line on Friday. That was super fun and, yes, I did speed up the speed on the reel because the video was a little over a minute and my videographer, dave, did an excellent job capturing the moment. So, thanks, dave.
Speaker 1:We have this new enormous facility here in South Everland Park. I say here, I'm not here, I'm in Lewisburg, but anyway, that doesn't even matter. So it has the zip line. It's kind of like a Dave and Buster feel. There's two different bars, there's a huge area for volleyball and there's lots of tournaments that go on there. I know that state wrestling was there a few weeks ago. There's an ice rink which they convert into a soccer field as well. Let's see. What else do they have? Oh, they had some simulators that we did. So we did shooting and football and baseball and bowling and I rocked the bowling, by the way and they also had cornhole, which I do not recommend. It was not realistic at all. We had a hard time with that one, but it was fun and if you're in the area you should really check it out. It was not busy at all on a Friday night. I was surprised. I'm sure it'll catch on pretty soon.
Speaker 1:Then on Saturday morning my oldest grandson, who is three and a half, had his very first soccer game. It was so cute, he did a fabulous job in the warmup and he looked so ready for the game. So they do a 30 minute warmup and then a 30 minute game. But once the game started like he was right on the line, just like the ref said. But then once they started kicking the ball around, he kind of ran over and just sat down by mom and dad and spent most of the time there. Tears were shed and I think the issue was that he couldn't understand why the other kids weren't sharing the ball with him. I can't wait to see how next week goes and then how he progresses over the season. It'll be great. Then, sunday, dave was in a head-to-head cornhole tournament. My PPR wasn't high enough to qualify, so I played the role of cheerleader and it's always so much fun to watch those events and even more fun to participate. So I'll be working on getting my numbers up so I can be in the lineup next time.
Speaker 1:Okay, do you remember me telling you about the trip with my sister to Florida, the one where I packed my faithful little black dress, only to realize that, yeah, it was way too tight. Remember the boob fat? Yeah, it was that trip. So that was a wake-up call for me. As I've mentioned, I knew I needed to make some shifts because I've been carrying a little too much extra fluff. I don't know if you can relate or not.
Speaker 1:One thing I've done I've upped my weights, which I talk all the time about strength training, and you know how I feel about it. It's a game changer. And let me tell you why the shift is so powerful. It isn't just about looking good and toned I don't know if I like the word tone, but anyway, it's about more feeling strong and capable and energized. You know, it helps boost your metabolism, it builds lean muscle that keeps everything tight and lifted, and it's one of the best ways to keep our bones strong as we age. It's also a confidence booster, and there's something incredibly empowering about lifting heavier, feeling yourself get stronger and realizing that, yes, you're that woman who doesn't back down from a challenge. And, let's face it, confidence is pretty darn sexy. We've talked about all the benefits of strength training here, and you'll hear more from other guests and you'll hear from me again, and I'm going to be sharing more information in my upcoming challenge that will kick off on, let's see, april 21st, and we are going to do a three-day nutritionally supported fast, and I'm going to explain what that is in just a minute, so you can stop right there. Or, if you want more, you're going to have the option of following, along with clean eating, strength training workouts. Group coaching calls text for accountability for 30 more days.
Speaker 1:So, besides upping my weights, I've also been making sure that I get plenty of protein in the form of lean meats, protein shakes and collagen. I found a collagen that I like in water, which I'm happy to share that information. And then I also have collagen that I use in hot beverages, and Dave and I tend to eat out too much, so I need to get back to cooking healthy. It'll be less expensive and just less time consuming too. When you go out, you tend to drink more, you tend to eat more and you don't know what's in your food. So we'll be getting back to that too, and that'll be part of the challenge also.
Speaker 1:It's also been helpful for me to have warmer temps so I can get out in nature, which fuels me beyond measure. I can't even tell you there's nothing like a walk around the lake with the sun on my face or on my back. It is medicine to me. Winter is hard, with all the gloomy days. I love being outside, so this is wonderful, and my walks have gotten a little bit of a facelift too.
Speaker 1:I've been adding a little bit of interval training. It sounds silly and I don't even care what I look like, but I add some skipping in. I add some skipping in. I do some side shuffling, just simple ways to get my heart rate up without too much impact on my joints and get the benefits of the interval training getting your heart rate up and then letting it recover and all of this will be incorporated in this reset challenge that I have coming up, and I really don't think that the three-day fast will be that hard. I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 1:It's going to be through the Plexus Reset, so I just call it my reset challenge too, and I'm just going to read you what they have on their website because I don't want to mess anything up. It says that Plexus Reset is a three-day nutritionally supported fast designed to reset your metabolism, curb cravings and improve gut health by providing essential nutrients to support your body's natural fat burning and digestive processes, all while maintaining lean muscle mass. This science-backed system promotes weight loss and improved body composition while supporting digestive harmony, optimal nutrient absorption and reduced bloating. Whether you've fallen into a rut or starting fresh with healthy habits, reset takes the guesswork out of fasting and lays the foundation to achieve optimal results. So what I said by or what they mean by nutritionally supported, you are going to get some supplements that you can take, and well, let me just read you the list. So you're going to get three packets of their hydrate, three packets of their lean whey protein, three packets of slim hunger control, three packets of collagen bone broth, three packets of their smart snack which says it's a blueberry almond crumble that sounds good Three packets of their active, three packets of collagen soup and three packets of their restore. So you're still going to be eating and consuming things. It'll be mostly in liquid form three packets of their active, three packets of collagen soup and three packets of their Restore. So you're still gonna be eating and consuming things. It'll be mostly in liquid form.
Speaker 1:I'm doing all of this Because how I feel is directly connected to my happiness. If I feel crappy or bloated or fatigued, I'm not as happy, and I kind of like the feeling of happiness and spreading that to others. It's kind of my thing. These shifts are necessary to me, not just to be healthier, which is a must, but also happier, which is non-negotiable for me. And yes, drinking less is part of it too. I feel better when I don't drink as much or as many nights consecutively. It's easy to fall into a trap. So there's no judgment here, none whatsoever. I know that coming home from a stressful day is usually followed by a glass of wine or two or three. I've done it too, and it seems like so many activities we do are surrounded by food and alcohol, and it can be hard to peel away.
Speaker 1:I had a life coach tell me that there's nothing wrong with drinking a good wine if you can truly like, savor it and appreciate it. And Dave and I actually have been going to the liquor store together and picking out some delicious wines that we both like and then sharing that bottle and talking about its characteristics. We were laughing about us the other night doing that, because we truly do just sit and talk about the wine. It's been so much fun. And I am telling you, dave cannot smell anything. He has a terrible sense of smell, but when it comes to red wine, oh my gosh. When it comes to red wine, oh my gosh. He can definitely pick up all of those notes. He has the nose for it, for sure, and he's super picky, which is funny because he used to only drink apple wine and now he's all about full-bodied reds with more earthy tones and notes and high tannins. Like, okay, now my mouth is kind of getting watery and I'm supposed to be talking about not drinking, all right. Anyway, in a nutshell, my reset challenge, like I said, will begin April 21st and you can do just the three-day nutritionally supported fast and go on your merry way, or join us for another 30 days afterwards to really get a good jump on your summer body, whether that means shorts and a tank top for you, or that skimpy bikini you do you. I'm excited for you guys and I hope that you're in all right, your body and your little black. I will get you more information, get you on the list and we will make this happen together. Thank you for listening.
