Trust the Shift: How Letting Go Creates Space for Something Better

Robin Hackney Season 2 Episode 71

Have you ever felt like life pulled the rug right out from under you, only to discover something even more beautiful waiting beneath it? That's exactly what we're exploring today as I share my recent journey through unexpected change in my fitness career.

When I finally stopped trying to control every step and fully trusted the process, doors began flying open that I never would have seen from my place of fear and routine. This transformative experience taught me that sometimes letting go of what's comfortable is the only way to step into what's truly possible. I believe with my whole heart that if you're facing unexpected transitions right now, something amazing could be waiting for you on the other side of that uncertainty.

We also dive deep into what it truly means to live fully. Life is simply too short for sitting on the sidelines! Whether it's skydiving, sabering champagne bottles, or simply trying something that scares you a little, there's incredible power in pushing past fear. No matter your age or stage of life, there's always room for more joy, more laughter, and more vibrant experiences.

But perhaps most exciting is our conversation about gut health and the profound difference it's made in my life. After 23 years in the fitness industry, I've never felt better than I do right now. That stubborn menopause fluff? Shrinking. Energy levels? Through the roof. Mood and brain fog? Totally transformed. By healing my gut and supporting my body with plant-based supplements, I've experienced firsthand how everything—from skin to sleep to confidence—improves when we address the root cause in our microbiome. I'm passionate about helping you experience this same transformation, which is why I'm offering free, no-pressure consultations to create a personalized plan for your wellness journey.

So, whether you're walking, you're folding laundry or sipping your pink drink while you're listening to this, let's hang out for the next 15 minutes. You're in for a treat. Hello and welcome to the Spandex and Wine podcast. I'm your host, robin Hackney, and I'm so happy that you're here.

Speaker 1:

This podcast is a place for conversations about balancing a healthy lifestyle and being happy. More specifically, happy hour. Together we'll explore all things wellness and wine. I hope you learn a little, laugh a lot and, along the way, know you're not alone on this balanced wellness journey. Ready to jump in, pour something in your glass that makes you happy, because it's time for spandex and wine. Here we go, friends.

Speaker 1:

All right, change is inevitable, and that's a good thing. Change is one of those things that we all experience, whether we want to or not, and, if I'm being honest, sometimes it feels like a rug pulled out from under you. But here's what I've learned when we stop resisting change and start trusting it, doors start flying open. So recently I went through a shift in my fitness classes something that I have poured my heart and soul into for years and, wow, the change turned out to be bigger than I expected. But you know what? I have peace with it. I truly believe God orchestrated this transition perfectly. I feel like I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be. It's almost like he said I've got something even better waiting for you. Just trust me. And once I stopped trying to control every step and get out of my own way, incredible opportunities did pop up, ones that I had never seen, and I wouldn't have seen if I had stayed stuck in fear and in my old routines. So you know, sometimes you have to let go of what's comfortable to step into what's possible. If you're facing a change right now, lean in. There might be something amazing waiting for you on the other side, and you might even want to just pause right here and think about something what are you standing in your own way about what, if you made that step to the side or that step forward or whatever it might be to allow yourself to make that change and that shift, and what opportunities or possibilities could open up for you. So maybe just think on that for a minute. Opportunities or possibilities could open up for you. So maybe just think on that for a minute.

Speaker 1:

And then this next part was inspired by a quote that I shared in a recent reel. If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, and the quote is while you still have breath, it is never too late to be all that you can possibly be. Okay, I think that's powerful, but also words that I try and live by. I've always believed in squeezing every drop out of life. You can just ask Dave and my friends around me and my clients.

Speaker 1:

So in the real, I shared moments of me doing some wild and fun and silly things, like jumping out of an airplane and working out and just cheersing with friends, even slicing off the top of a champagne bottle with a sword at a winery on one of our retreats. And why do I show these things? Why am I saying this? It's because life is short. It's too short to sit on the sidelines. I mean, you hear these things all the time.

Speaker 1:

I know it sounds so cliche, but I'm not here to just exist through life. I want to live it. I want to try the things that scare me a little. I mean, you guys have seen that. You know that about me. Laugh until I cry, fall down, get back up and try again. I am not afraid of making a mistake. There are no failures, because I would not be the person that I am today had I not tried.

Speaker 1:

So sometimes we let fear keep us small. We think we're too old, we're too busy, we're too out of shape, we're too this, we're too that. But no matter your age or your stage of life, there's always room for more joy, there's room for more laughter, there's room for more memories, and it's all just waiting for you. So if you've been waiting for a sign to take a leap, here it is Go, do that thing you've been dreaming about. The world needs your joy. You might be surprised how many doors open when you just start saying yes. So we're going to make that change, we're going to make that shift and we're also going to put ourselves out there in an uncomfortable way. I think you can do it All right.

Speaker 1:

So now let's talk about something that's made a huge difference in my life lately and if you have not been listening, I don't know how you've missed it. It's gut health. I know it might sound trendy, but hear me out. I've been in the fitness industry for 23 years and I've never felt as good as I do now. That menopause fluff yep, it's shrinking. My energy skyrocket ask my clients, my husband, my mood happier than I've been in ages and brain fog it's gone. I just feel so good, and it's nothing magic and it's not a quick fix. So I don't want you to think that this is a quick fix. It's healing your gut and continuing to feed your gut properly. So I don't want you to think that this is a quick fix. It's healing your gut and continuing to feed your gut properly. So balancing my microbiome, regulating blood sugar, managing inflammation and supporting my hormones with plant-based, all natural supplements. It has been a total game changer for me. And here's the thing everything starts in the gut. The gut-brain connection is real. You heal your gut and you start to heal everything else too your skin, your energy, your mood, your sleep, even your confidence.

Speaker 1:

I want this for you, too. So I am offering free consultations. I've mentioned this before, but no strings attached. Let's just have a phone call to help you figure out what your body needs. There's no pressure, it's just a conversation. We can begin to create a plan that helps you feel your best again. And if you're not someone that you want to do that one-on-one call, we can also just message back and forth. You have my text number it's 913-392-2877. Speaker 1:

I really, truly want you to be healthier and happier. That's my mission. That's what I set out Every time I write a new vision statement or a mission statement or something like that. With my business. It always includes helping people feel healthier and happier, and that's what I've done for me. That's what I want to help you do too. So there you have it, friend. Life's too short to ignore change, too precious to live small and too amazing to settle for. So whether it's jumping into a new adventure, like I tend to do, often saying yes to big possibilities, or maybe finally taking care of your gut or you and your needs, right, that's sometimes hard to do too. I hope you'll step into this next season with boldness and joy, and I am here to help you. I'm cheering you on every step of the way and I will be with you.
