Spandex & Wine

Season Two Ends, But The FUN Continues

Robin Hackney

Ready your wine glass and workout gear as we close the chapter on Season Two of Spandex and Wine! This special finale episode offers a heartfelt look at how this podcast journey has evolved from a simple curiosity into a thriving community focused on balanced wellness.

Robin shares a personal revelation about the connection between learning and happiness, recounting how a visit to her "voodoo doctor" chiropractor lifted her spirits not just through physical relief, but by satisfying her thirst for knowledge. This insight serves as a powerful reminder that when we're feeling stuck, sometimes the best medicine is to learn something new – whether through a course, a book, or simply asking questions about something that fascinates us.

Exciting announcements abound as Robin prepares to take her "Happiness Blueprint" on the road to Wine Camp in Charlottesville, Virginia, where she'll lead playfully-named fitness classes like "Bands Before Bottles" and "Aging Like Fine Wine." While the podcast takes a brief hiatus before Season Three, listeners can look forward to special mini-episodes featuring guided meditations and affirmations to keep their wellness journey on track. Robin warmly invites listener suggestions for future topics and guests, emphasizing that community input shapes the heart of the show.

As we raise a glass to the end of Season Two, remember that balance is key – both in wellness and in life. Speaker 1:

So I mentioned on the last episode that I was probably going to take a break, like I did last summer, and then start season three. I can't believe that I'm saying that I'm going to be starting season three, because it was just a couple of years ago that I decided I wanted to take a workshop just so I could learn something. It's always good to learn right and I am definitely happiest when I'm learning something. It's so funny. I'll get back to what I was saying before, I promise. But the other day I was just kind of having an off day and I'm like gosh, what is wrong? What is wrong? And I went to my chiropractor slash physical therapist, slash voodoo doctor. I think they just work magic, anyway. And I left that place just feeling amazing, and not just because I felt better physically, because he did some scraping on my foot and ankle and oh my gosh, that is crazy but because I learned something, like I always love going there, because I learned something more about the human body and I love hearing what he has to say, I love asking questions, and so I was like, oh my gosh, that kind of shook off, that off feeling, because I learned something. So that is something that I need to do a better job of. And if you find yourself stuck in a place like that, too, I do recommend that maybe you take a mini course or you do, you know, take an online course or go jump back into a book that you were reading. That is nonfiction, anyway. So where was I going? I told you I would get back to it, so I'm going to take a little break. Oh yeah, I was doing the podcasting class just so I could learn something, and I'm like, okay, I think I want to do this, I think I want to do this. You guys have heard this before and so my friend Penny and I just jumped in and, and we both started our podcast and it's been amazing. You've heard me.

Speaker 1:

I've had some ups and downs, I've had some lulls. I haven't done a great job of promoting my episodes lately, so definitely we'll get back to that with season three. But yeah, season three is right around the corner. I have some fun ideas for it. So I'm excited to get that laid out and planned out and so I can deliver all of that to you and make sure you're aware of it, right? So what will help me is if, when that season three starts, I'll blast it out on social media and if you wouldn't mind sharing it, that would be fantastic. During my lull, I will still do some short episodes like super short. Maybe it's just going to be some affirmations that you can put on or a guided meditation or something like that. I haven't decided yet, but I will put a couple of those episodes out. They'll probably be two or three back to back, maybe even a couple of weeks, and then we'll jump into season three. As always, I would love to hear your ideas.

Speaker 1:

If there's a topic I haven't covered, message me. If there's a guest, I have a list of guests. I know a lot of you have sent me some guests. But nudge me, poke me. If you've already sent me some names, send them again. Like hey, did you ever reach out to this person? Because, just like when you have a text or an email that you read it and then it goes down, down, down, down down, because you get just so many things coming in definitely like that with me. So you can text me at 913-392-2877. You can email me at info at spandexandwinecom. You can direct message me on social media. On Instagram it is at, you know, the at sign and spandex and wine, and then on social you can use spandex and wine group as well. But you can also just message me through Robin Hackney. So I would love to hear that.

Speaker 1:

I am off to wine camp next week, our women's retreat that we spun off of our traveling vineyard harvest conference. That was every year. So we're going to Charlottesville, virginia. I'm excited about that and this one is full of some good content. I'm doing some fitness classes, so bands before bottles and then aging like fine wine. Those will be fun fitness classes. And then I'm doing a breakout session on the happiness blueprint and I spoke to you guys about this I don't know, probably late winter, early spring and said I was taking it on the road. So this is the first on the road and it's just going to be a condensed version of it because the class is, I think, 45 minutes, so it'll be a little bit shorter, but I'm excited about that. So just four different things that I think help me be a happier person and hopefully I can get everyone else on that same blueprint, if you will. All right, you guys. That is it for today. So end of season two.

Still, tune in for those shorter episodes. I'll get those published still on Tuesdays and Fridays. But share anything with a friend. If you haven't done a five-star review, I would so appreciate that. You don't even have to write anything. You can click just the five stars. If you write a little review, that's amazing, but sharing it and doing that review really, really helps the algorithm and pushes the content out there. So thank you so much. Have a fabulous day. Thank you for listening.
